Quite disappointing to see another native side (Italy) losing against one of the teams entirely comprised of expats (Bahrain). Batting first, Italy made 218. None of the batsmen could get to a half-century, although Marcus Campopiano, Anthony Mosca, Wayne Madsen, Grant Stewart and Gareth Berg all made sizable contributions. In return, Bahrain reached the target with 6 wickets to spare. Jaspreet Singh got two wickets, otherwise the Italian bowlers had hardly any success. Italy is once again struggling in ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-off. They are at 138/5 after 31.3 overs, with Gian-Piero Meade and Wayne Madsen at the crease. Grant Stewart managed to score 33 from 12 balls, but in the end he got out to a delivery from Sachin Kumar. Now once again, the scoring rate is going down. Italy needs to score at least 200-220 to win this match, but I really doubt whether they can get there. They do have some very experienced and skillful bowlers, such as Stefano di Bartolomeo, Gareth Berg and Jaspreet Singh.

The run scored by Nepal chasing a huge target yesterday were impressive. Nepal just lacked good bowling. Not playing spinners were one of the reason for a huge total by Namibia. If not for the two consecutive last wickets, Nepal was nearing the target. Netherlands are not exactly in same form as Namibia and today the result could go on any side. The toss could also be decisive as second team batting would have an edge on chasing the target in current pitch. Nepal would probably include Lalit Rajbansi today and maybe a few changes in batsmen.
Namibia managed to score 144 runs in the last 9.2 overs, with Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton hitting the fastest hundred in T20Is. Nepal bowlers were doing their job exceptionally well until then, but were shredded to pieces by Loftie-Eaton. Everyone got the stick, including Sompal Kami, Abinash Bohara and Gulsan Jha. And in return, the target was too much for the Nepal batsmen. Maybe for today's match, they should replace Bohara with Lalit Rajbanshi. He has the ability to bowl economically in depth overs. |

As we have seen in previous series, Afghanistan did not perform well against Sri Lanka. But Afghanistan can definitely perform well against a team like Ireland. The batting lines of both the teams cannot perform very well in the Test format. In this case, Afghanistan batsmen are stronger than Ireland batsmen in Test format. I also think Afghanistan can beat Ireland in this only test match.
Ireland is in a rebuilding phase, but I haven't seen much improvement from them over the last 3-4 years. The golden generation is gone, which included players like Tim Murtagh, Boyd Rankin, Ed Joyce and Niall O'Brien. Now the responsibility has been transferred to younger players such as Andy Balbirnie, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell and Paul Stirling. But they haven't lived up to the expectations in recent times. Also, in batting there will be a lot of dependence on Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker. What the hell is going on with Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan Super League? They lost yet another match yesterday (vs Multan Sultans), and now they have 0 points from 6 matches. This is the most pathetic performance by any of the franchises in the history of PSL perhaps. Yesterday Multan got to a great start when they posted 214/4 after 20 overs. Lahore bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Zaman Khan and Carlos Brathwaite were unable to take wickets at crucial occasions. And in return, Lahore could only make 154, and they lost the match by a massive margin of 60 runs.

What a knock by KING and what a game of cricket we see today. An excellent 19th over by Arif Yaqoob gave PZ a comeback to a game from nowhere. This is how unpredictable the game of cricket is and this is the beauty of this sport one minute down next minute up.
19th over was just unbelievable. Before that, Islamabad were at 181/4, and they needed another 21 runs to win from 2 overs. Arif Yaqoob bowled the 19th over and picked up 4 wickets (including those of Colin Munro, Haider Ali and Faheem Ashraf), and conceded just 2 runs. And then Salman Irshad had to bowl the last over, and he did a decent job so that Zalmi could win the match. It was a match that Islamabad could have won with ease. But as a result of carelessness they lost it and along with it two valuable points. |

Yes I also think the Rangpur Riders team lost to the Comilla Victorians because their bowling was not consistent. Even though their batting got better their bowlers couldn't stop the other team batters which caused them to lose. It's important for a team to do well in both batting and bowling to win. I hope the Rangpur Riders team can improve their bowling and come back stronger in the next games. It was a battle between the top two teams in the Bangladesh Premier League, and in the end Comilla Victorians emerged victorious. The partnership between Litton Das and Towhid Hridoy was so crucial. It added 143 runs on board after Sunil Narine got out for a duck in the very first ball of the innings. Rangpur had premium bowlers such as Shakib Al Hasan, James Neesham, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Mohammad Nabi. Despite Putin’s statements that he wants to see Biden back in the presidential chair, this is a common political game. Putin is betting on Trump to put pressure on and destroy Ukraine. Dhruv Jurel rightly deserves man of the match award for his crucial 90 runs innings in first innings followed by 39 runs in second innings. Main thing is Dhruv Jurel scored runs when India require someone to take the responsibility. England after doing all hard work in first innings had a terrible second innings where all team was able to score 145 runs only. Last test match will be played on Dharamsala from March 07 - 11.
Last test match has lost it's relevance, as India has already won the series by a margin of 3-1. It was a blunder from England to not to give their pacers enough spells in the last innings (Ollie Robinson and James Anderson together got just 3 overs, while the spinners bowled 58 overs). And they had India at 120/5 when Sarfaraz got out. But then Dhruv Jurel and Shubman Gill took India home by batting patiently. England captain persisted with his spinners, and I thought that Anderson had a better opportunity to get a few breakthroughs. |

I just noticed that Peshawar Zalmi is now 3rd in the points table for this season of the Pakistan Super League. But then, it was a very close match yesterday, with Islamabad United losing by just 8 runs. Babar Azam finally got a century this season, as he smashed 111 from 63 balls. Support was provided by Saim Ayub, but no one else in Zalmi scored more than 20. And then Arif Yaqoob destroyed IU with a terrific spell of 4-0-27-5. This guy has played just 3 first-class and 16 T20 matches so far. Pakistan never fail to produce amazing young talent.

I agree that cricket is exciting because you never know what will happen. Any team can beat a stronger team which makes the games full of surprises. Fans love the suspense and drama of not knowing who will win. It makes every match really exciting to watch.
The Netherlands and Nepal show how anything can happen in cricket. The Netherlands have more experience in the World Cup but in cricket what matters is how well you play on the day. Even though Nepal and the Netherlands are evenly matched, the Netherlands is playing better and winning. This shows how unpredictable and exciting cricket can be.
In terms of experience, perhaps Nepal was ahead of Netherlands. Because most of the county contracted players were absent from the Dutch squad, while Nepal was near full strength although Sandeep Lamichhane was absent due to obvious reasons. Anyway, I would consider Nepal as one of the teams on the ascent, while Netherlands maybe stagnating after getting thrown out of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. And even now, Netherlands is dependent upon expat and South African-born players (not ignoring the contributions from native players such as de Leede, Kingma and van Meekeren). |

In my opinion it's really exciting when a team like the Netherlands who isn't expected to win does really well and surprises everyone. It shows that in cricket you never know what may happen and any team can do great on a given day. Even if we think we know who will win based on rankings or past games. I think the Netherlands did a good job beating Nepal and I'm curious to see how both teams do in their next game.
Netherlands is an unstable team. They have a good number of quality players, such as Fred Klaassen, Timm van der Gugten, Roelof van der Merwe and Paul van Meekeren. But these players are not always available for national team selection as they are contracted to the counties. So most of the times the Dutch are forced to play with second string players such as Vivian Kingma, Michael Levitt and Noah Croes. This is having a negative impact on their performance. On the other hand, Nepal is also suffering from the absence of Sandeep Lamichhane (he has been jailed and may never again play international cricket). |

It was a great opportunity for England to level the series at 2-2. They did well in the first two days, when they had India at 177/7 against England's first innings total of 353. At this point, I thought that England could have got a lead of at least 120-150. But then the partnership between Dhruv Jurel and Kuldeep Yadav took the match away from them. Even after Kuldeep got out, Akash Deep added 40 valuable runs for the 9th wicket along with Jurel. And the England captain made the mistake by under-utilizing the pacers (James Anderson and Ollie Robinson).

Peshawar Zalmi is in a slightly better position in Pakistan Super League, as they have now won 2 out of the 4 matches. The win against Lahore Qalandars should boost their confidence. But what happened to the Qalandars? They are just pathetic, and have lost all 5 matches they played so far. And this is despite having some of the best T20 players in their squad such as Fakhar Zaman, Rassie van der Dussen, Carlos Brathwaite and Shaheen Shah Afridi. A change in captaincy can be considered. Sikandar Raza can be a better captain when compared to Shaheen.
