421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does inactive users deserve merits? on: January 11, 2024, 09:58:20 PM
There have been some good and quality posts that I've come across why navigating through the forum and I found out that some of the users have been inactive for a very long time but the posts they've made deserved merit, so is it advisable to merit the post(s) of a user(s) that have been inactive for a long interval of time considering the fact that they made Meritable posts?
it's depends on the personalities involved though... For me, I merit users that would most likely be able to spend/circular 'em smerits.... what's the point of meriting a user that's not even active to acknowledge them accolades?.. it's kinda like blurring out the opportunities of other low-ranked members ranking up soon enough - it could also like make the whole merit ecosystem slag - when this happens, Bitcointalkforum becomes really boring as it'll look like nothing is really happening...

don't forget in a hurry that so many generous merit givers are kinda like slagging alot too... Merit sources ain't even meriting threads the way it ought to be - I'm not saying they ain't trying buh, it's becoming more infrequent than it used to be... Facts!
So my point is - the little that's generated should be circulated evenly, to most qualified post. Alive!

422  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Transactions confirmation. on: January 11, 2024, 09:52:03 PM
I noticed that in every transaction I performed, I have to wait till after the transaction have surpassed 6 confirmation or rather 6 blocks before it can be mined by miners, so does it mean that it is necessary to wait till after the 6 confirmation before one could be comfortable with the transaction?
it depends on the volume of coin for the said transaction... A single confirmation would do - and a mail is immediately sent to you (assuming your receiving wallet is linked to your email)... Sometimes, you may not be able to move the fund or manipulate them yet until it's totally confirmed from the receiving wallet( mostly happens in centralized Wallets)
Only one 1 confirmation is needed for a transaction to be confirmed. But if it is high amount of bitcoin, you can wait for more confirmation because the more the confirmation, the difficult it becomes for the transaction to be reversed.
There isn't any possibilities of reversing the transaction even at one confirmation so how's that the reason?
funny enough, it keeps confirming with or without your consent so I don't see any need of waiting that long...
Edit:
For 1 confirmation, the probability is 56.66%. The more than confirmation, the lesser the possibility.
Charles, if you didn't misquote, you would have understood that I wrote - THERE ISN'T ANY POSSIBILITY* OF REVERSING THE TRANSACTION...(by yourself) not, there ISN'T any possibility* of the transaction getting reversed... There are two different statements.
Thanks for the objection!

423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you have a hard time bringing new people to the forum? on: January 11, 2024, 09:46:42 PM
I don't know why but eachtime i try as hard as I can to get someone introduced in here, it doesn't seem to be user-friendly to them... The ecosystem, the terms of operation, the posting pattern, the navigation processes most especially.... They keep complaining!

At some point, I decided not to introduce anyone unless i've got a benefit of doubt; like showing interest prior the opening of an account etc. The least I'd ever do is to introduce someone that's not even ready to keep to the process... So tedious!

424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is the money manager? is it a casino or game provider? on: January 11, 2024, 09:40:43 PM
So who actually manages finances? is it the casino itself or the game provider? Does the casino only get a commission from the game provider or buy the game license from the game provider?
It's fully managed by the game providers and commissions are paid once every return is made.. Since it's automated, they don't even have to wait for commissions to be paid at a certain period of time.. it calculates, audit and separately pays out commissions to the casinos without any hesitation.. it all depends on the game provider...

do you really think winnings are paid by the casino itself? no! Everything is being manipulated and sent down by the game providers.... An exception would be for casinos that are independent...

Your attitude reflects on almost everything you do in life... I can't say for sure what would've made his case different... Maybe for the fact that people could be a little bit temperamental atimes... ?? Maybe he doesn't just wanna show forth his real attitude?? Maybe he's prone to being extravagant when it comes to any course of making money?? Maybe not.

The things you get to learn everyday on the net would either MAKE YOU or DESTROY YOU. AFAIK, having your stakes increased is a betting strategy... There are more chances when you adopt 'em.

426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble on Bitcoin ETF approval results? on: January 10, 2024, 09:57:30 PM
A Polygon-based gambling site allows gamblers to gamble on the outcome of the spot Bitcoin ETF application by some investors. Gamblers are required to choose Yes” or “No” bets on whether the Bitcoin ETF applications will be approved or not. According to a report about $1.5 million worth of bets have been placed and bettors are patiently waiting for SEC's decision. From reports it seems that the majority of gamblers believe that the SEC will approve so the majority of them choose yes.
That's not how they consider whether or not they'd wanna wager their cash on new options like that... They'll simply check on the odds to see if it sooths their play pattern - if it actually does, and their preferred casino supports it, why not?

The only restrictions there would be created by the casinos that support this new event - assuming theirs doesn't... If it's a YES and NO option, I feel it's a bit intriguing and ofcourse, people like to squander on new but, relative ideas.

Anyone here who retired with Gambling winnings ?  If not, how much you think is sufficient to retire as Gambling winning ?
sufficient?.. a gambler is never satisfied with his endless lust/desire for more wins - no matter how small it is.. I don't even think they'll decide to quit gambling assuming they began to hit a winning streak for about a year... All they've gotten used to is the ecstacy and the pleasure over nothing ( cus sometimes, most gamblers are multimillionaires in real life... So what's the point of gambling away the funds for another funds you ain't even sure about?)
How much you think is sufficient to retire as Gambling winning? You must be joking. Have you been gambling to decide how much someone needs to win before the person retire from gambling. Gambling is not a job, it is just for fun. No retirement. Just gamble with small amount of money that you can afford to lose and not thinking about earning in gambling all the time. Gambling is not like that.
There has never been a time... Never!!!!

428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 10, 2024, 09:41:34 PM
This thread is inspired by the thread created by sportsbet.io about a lucky bettor who won $42 million on a $50 spin.

So let's discuss. This kind of win can be compelete considered based on luck, and the winner is so lucky that he hit the Jackpot. However, since the goal here is $42 million and you can only win that if you would bet $50 for one spin. So, do you have the courage to do that?
... And the one thing I've observed is that - for every single day, there's always a news to motivate or recruit new gamblers.. things like this would probe you into staking 50 bucks per spin, thinking it's something small and could easily be recovered until 5 grands is gone...

even if it's based on true life eventualities, never hope for the same thing... You never know how much he's wagered, day and night just to hook-on... Infact, I don't even think gambling was made for the poor - so getting along would only make things worse, unless you know the better...

First of all, no one knows who TF you are...it doesn't even matter in here..all the same,i can see how well everybody plays along, maybe because it's on the gambling section?? IDK.

why would you say you developed an urge/interest to gamble and you're definitely evading all these criterion? What in God's name evolved the interest then? Cus you can't tell me you read so much about how peeps are scrambling, showing off their winnings and you got enticed, just to gamble with your own rules that doesn't validate anything at the end - like gambling for fun???
Do well to tell your husband what you've done. There are no two ways about it... It's either you tell him or he gets to realize it himself.

My question is do you think gambling every day is better? From his reasoning and points of narrations.
if you're asking this question from his point of narration, I'll say it's never okay to gamble all the time ... For obvious reasons, they gamble away their moneys, hoping to hit a jackpot that would have simply been theirs assuming they were able to adopt an attitude of saving up every fuckin' dime they spend on gambling.

I'm not doubting the fact that some tickets are being selected for the jackpot (especially the accumulator bet), but the big question there is - what if you're not lucky to get shortlisted on your 4th or 5th trial, assuming you normally wager like 100 bucks on a single ticket?

I'm pretty sure most people knew that already but you know gambling is not something that guarantee you getting rich any way. But there's a reason they called it jackpot. You know gambling all about luck or that you might be lucky enough to hit the jackpot that can cover the funds gambling have eaten from you. Come to think of it if everyone is winning how will the casino pay. Through those losses most casino normally use to pay for others wins. Aslong there's winner they will always be losers.
exactly... They all know they won't get lucky at the first try, but they keep wagering - some would blatantly say that the effectiveness and frequency of a gambler guarantees their possible wins ... haven't they seen cases where people keep wagering all their household items, including the house itself without any single wins??... How then is this whole shiii Not about luck? The best advice I would give to anyone gambling routinely would be to either desist totally or have a personal understanding of playing strictly for fun...

432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 09, 2024, 09:36:37 PM
Manchester City are no longer the powerhouse we saw dominate the premier league for four seasons in a row. Losing Mahrez, Gundogan, e.t.c really affected the team’s performance this season because Manchester City were playing better than they are performing now without the departed players. I am looking forward to one or two additions this January for Manchester City to boost the team’s competitiveness.
"without" or "with" ?? I think there's some sort of contradictions there... But it's fine anyways.

For me, I think this should be one of the best seasons for them - Mahrez was actually a junk player in there since he was barely given enough playtime..Maybe for the fact that he's African? Guardiola knows best... But I think having Alvarez and Grealish both paired would improve the effectiveness on the flanks.. it all depends on the formation though - a standard 4-3-3 formation would also link them both, allowing debryune and halland to communicate directly.

I have come across Local gamblers who are addicted to gambling and had ruined their selves by themselves til they ran bankrupt yet they borrows money to gamble at all means even While being indebted.
it saddens me when people fail to understand this simple trickery at the expense of their funds, happiness, life and emotions - This is fucking business.. even if you were able to win today, it doesn't mean the casino lost anything.. there aren't any "losing game" for them...(especially virtual sites) why? It's highly monitored and professionally programed..
Quote
At the virtue of getting the unbearable situations to an end, the relatives broadcasts the chronic addicted gambler at all costs of gambling boards never to give him privileges to gamble in any of the Gambling arenas anymore else they (the relatives) would sue the gambling boards owner.
I've never heard of such restrictions - I don't even know the possibilities there... But if this storyline is actually non-fictional, then the said family must be leaving in affluence.

I was introduced to bitcointalk and I don't know much about cryptocurrencies; please advise me on what I should do to learn more about bitcoin. Please send me a link that will walk me through the process so that I don't run into any complications when I start my investment.
several links has been dropped for you to educate yourself... It's just enough to know how to begin. Firstly For me, I'd say all you need now would be understanding the Term "Bitcoin" and every other basic "terms of operation" which would entail; how Bitcoin works, how the Bitcoin ecosystem gets overall circulation, how you could possibly manipulate your way in and out, how you'd begin to learn about the technical part of Bitcoin etc...

when I see newbies make post like this, I tend not to take it upon myself to explain the little I know..why? I got to realize that most newbies would make this overemphasized post just to chase clout... Some would disappear right about the time the post was made, till whenever...

@Barikui1 since we are sharing tips here, let me share you one: if you want to get some merit (as this is obviously a merit fihsing topic) you will have to put some effor into your topics, instead copy/pasting post from binance, without adding anything of your own.
Lol... That's magical Rika...
I was wondering why it sounded so much like something I've read before?? Then I scrolled down a bit, only to get caught up in your post.. everyone's trying so hard to repeat old points with new words.. I don't see that as a valid thread cus when I saw the caption at first, I thought he had something different to tell us.

Ehhh, I know too well that there isn't a way to evade crypto scams totally, so the least you can do is protect yourself. About clicking on phishing links - haven't y'all got spam folders to trap this links from getting into your mailbox?

Sorry to bother the community, but it is a hard time for me now. I am really appreciated to your suggestions, help, instructions of How to earn from Bitcoin, including a job related to Bitcoin, mine, trading, or anything else.
I'm still tryna understand the purpose of this post...  You just wanted to create a sort of "guide" to motivate peeps into HODLing BTC??.. or you wanna learn how to invest your money on cryptocurrencies?? What's the main idea?.. whatever the case is, coupled with the bold letters on your post, I feel you don't need to jump into HODLing Bitcoin because you're in a problematic condition.
As you have mentioned, trading, mining, and investing in bitcoin can really help you earn money in bitcoin, but honestly, you really need a reasonable amount to start all this if you really want to be earning in bitcoin.
it's not even about the funds right away.., it's about the techs.. he doesn't sound like he's got any preknowledge of what Bitcoin is, talkmore of having any skill... anyone can't just begin to trade on a real account without the knowledge on how to do so - it wouldn't take a second to get wiped off your feets with the current volatility.

Don't worry, even if you didn't mention Stakes' signature campaign participants, we all know that you're referring to this users.
That's absolutely true... Some campaign requirements are too demanding... I seen a couple of crap lately - from stakes most especially... So I decided to look up their requirements and I was convinced. Sometimes, they go off point, all in a bid to make the post voluminous - I don't know why OP doesn't read to check for stuffs like quality and substance...I also realized that most of their participants are having bulky post as compared to merit ratio... I think it's basically for that reason.

For the genuine ones; threads, guides etc ... We all know.

[...]and from what I can tell there's not much in the way of real discussion happening there, with the exception of some very hardcore fans who know their stuff.  Megathreads like that are just magnets for shitposters who want to write incoherent crap for the gambling-related campaign they're in.
ain't nobody writes no meaningful stuff in there... If I wanna evaluate based on percentage difference, I'd say - 8% outta 100 are actually provided necessary points, the rest would barely read before typing...

A typical Gambling poster wouldn't even wanna flaunt the Meta,B&H or Bitcoin discussion like we all do.. as long as the campaign pays for gambling post, they'll keep making 10 out of 10 gambling related post.. I also realized that these degenerates wouldn't write on jollygood's thread - the reasons are so obvious!

Keeping this in mind I won't blame Lucius, but I would ask you to remember, facing criticism online requires courage.
I don't know how accurate the AI tool is but all I wanna say is - submerging uncertain facts to prove others wrong, without enough evidences to back up would mean disorganizing the OP's persona... y'all know how the forum operates; a mere tag from one person about how they perceive you would have your effort wiped out. The OP feels he's been attacked simply because he's a newbie...WHO KNOWS WHAT HE'S SEEN OUT THERE IN THE WILD? About the mistreatment of newbies...etc?

AGAIN, I'm not saying Lucius is wrong... We're yet to know but until then, I think it's not right to lay an accusation... If that's truly what OP does, he could be tagged or made to face the verdict??...

different ideas have been introduced to you and, some peeps have even gone as far as sharing out links to aid the process - what I'm not certain about is if you've read through this thread since the day you Posted it...

sometimes, it becomes a problem since many people will just makeup post like this to increase their count -- something similar to this has been questioned and addressed severally...
I don't wanna look like an oppositionist; all I've got to tell you is that you should learn about Bitcoin deeply - THAT'S prolly the most appropriate route to follow.
