421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 30, 2023, 09:38:01 PM
Liverpool no doubts have a good chance at this point to win the league title by the end of the season but then their performance in recent time's if they maintain such pase, in the nearest future they may most likely not be in a good position to win the title this season.

But then I think Manchester city and Arsenal in their present form are in better position as they are currently in their best form and are racing for the top of the table, but amongst them all, Manchester city is more consistent than Liverpool and arsenal and if Manchester city continues with their consistency and their recent form and performance, they are very likely to retain the league title again by the end of this season.

Liverpool, like all the other clubs may have a chance to win the league title this season, but I wouldn’t exactly call it a good one. They’re comfortably sitting amongst the top four spot and they’ve still got lots more games to play before the end of the season. And I doubt they’re going to be in first place when all games are played and the season ends.
They’re still good competitors that would keep Manchester City and Arsenal which are the ones that are likely to be sitting in first place when the season ends on their toes.
Those two clubs could be comfortably said to have a good chance of winning the title this season. They’re looking really good for it too.

I will not give too far an example and I will give an example to myself when I come to a group of people who dont gamble, of course we will discuss other things that are more positive so that our minds will never think about gambling, but when I come here a group of people who like to gamble will definitely discuss gambling and in fact our minds will start to reappear about wanting to try gambling again.

“Evil communication corrupts good manners”. This is mentioned somewhere in the Bible and it’s reflected in our daily lives. Obviously, the type of people you hang around with would someday and perhaps unconsciously, slowly and steadily become influential in your life.
Hang around with associates that gamble, you lot would talk a lot and do things that are gambols related and soon enough, you’ll find yourself wanting to gamble as well. It’s only natural. Hanging around people with productive thoughts would likewise feed your mind with more productive thoughts. It’s left for us to decide on the crowd to hang around with.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 29, 2023, 11:57:28 PM
Yes your are right but gambling are mainly for rich but not luck mind. We can see many gamblers grow up with low amount of money. If you are rich and you entered in gambling that is plus point for you but in gambling maximum time luck doesn't fevour. That is game of skil. The game is fully depend on your silk money is not to much needed but skil is needed.

Gambling isn’t mainly for the rich but seeing as you do need some money in order to play, one could see why gambling is said to be for the rich in the society. I think it’s for anyone with some money to spare and willing to take some risks.

If you’re rich and get into gambling, the obvious advantage is there is money to comfortably bet and such individuals wouldn’t look to gambling as a source of making an income.
Generally, although skills are needed to try to identify and predict games that could be favorable, you literally can’t do anything without having some money in your pocket. You can have all the skills but without any money, you’re pretty much a spectator.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think that this is aperfect analogy of how gambling addiction starts? on: November 29, 2023, 11:31:24 PM
I have come to realize that gambling is remotely fun when you're not winning. You will have to get a lot of wins in order to get the thrill and the dopamine from it. That's why I think a lot of beginner gamblers win - it's for them to get lured and be caught off guard by the system to gamble more and win more. Once that's established, the gambler will then have the choice to decide if gambling is worth it or not. If they only play for entertainment, great. If not, then there will be a problem eventually, for sure.

Yes, you would have to play and win for you to get some thrill but I think there could also be fun also when winning. And I agree with your opinion on beginners getting lured and sucked into the world of gambling with their first win. That win could motivate just anyone to play more.
For some who choose to indulge in gambling as a means of making an income,  this is the point where their money problems begins. While for others who simply play purely for entertainment purposes are quite safe. Sadly, a whole lot of people have and continuously do gamble in a bid to earn some extra income.
425  Economy / Economics / Re: When the world is evolving, follow the trend. on: November 29, 2023, 11:00:37 PM
Why’d you think trade by barter working successfully back in the day is surprising? And corruption, being way older than paper money itself won’t suddenly go away with the end of the reign of paper money being used as a means of exchange.

In my opinion, nothing is truly certain except death of course. So the future where you say all financial transactions would be done only digitally without paper money is still far off and not entirely clear. Of course, it would be advisable to embrace change when it comes.
The economy of a nation is determined by what it produces and exports. And that in turn gives the boosts the nations finances.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 29, 2023, 09:57:55 PM
It helps release stress but could also be a source of stress. Better to approach it with care and see how it affects our thoughts and emotions.
Also going little by little will be better than trying to win big and risking to lose it all.

Stick to the plan.

Another benefit is it can help you to improve decision making and practice discipline

I think most people who indulge in gambling in order to earn an income from it could in the long run, probably add to the stress levels of such individuals. While people who actively don’t play and seek an income whenever they gamble could have less stress due to the activity.
A lot of gamblers do play with more money than they can comfortably afford. They tend to ignore that fact as they’re temporary blinded by the amount to be won in the end. Hence counting chickens before they’re hatched.

True. It could probably help some people develop some more discipline in other aspects of their life.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Request to learn gambling on: November 29, 2023, 12:59:22 AM
I would say you did her some good by discouraging her. It’s clear she’s looking to gambling as a means where she could earn some extra income. It’s good she’s looking to earn extra to add to whatever she earns in her main job but with gambling, she will find out rather quickly that she would spending more money than she ever thought on gambling in a bid to win big.

Asides all of that, if she starts gambling in a bid to earn more and it doesn’t pan out like she had hoped for, and she ends up having some financial troubles. In a bid to avoid taking responsibility for her actions, she may fault you for introducing her to gambling conveniently forgetting she asked to be taught in the first place.
428  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: November 29, 2023, 12:37:40 AM
With the number of threads talking about several unhealthy practices some gamblers do in order to continue gambling, perhaps in a bid to win back all they’ve lost.
It’s real easy to dish out advice but really difficult to learn and follow said advice. I’m not entirely surprised with the story shared by the OP. I somewhat feel sympathetic for the OP as although, he knowingly borrowed to gamble, this is a financial setback that would have some impact.

This is another clear case of how things could turn out for you if, after having a bad spell, you decide to stubbornly continue playing to try and recoup all/most of the money lost. And like most cases, you end up losing even more like in the case of the OP.

Hopefully, the case of the OP could help be a deterrent to others against chasing your losses as well as taking out loans to gamble.
429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: November 28, 2023, 11:56:24 PM
It is obvious that no good thing that come easy and when you are not lucky in gambling you are not lucky and a lucky person in everything he tries might still be a lucky person on gambling because i dont see what you know you do consistently and is not favourable to you yet you are still in it, that is stupidity to a reasonable man and even if your taking it to be for funs but definitely you are spending carelessly on it and truly the mindset of a gambler is to get not to loose

We reap whatever we sow. Sometimes we look upon the benefits of someone’s toiling and work and think it to be luck. It isn’t always so as there are people who work their ass off in trying to predict possible winning bets.

You’re so sure that people who gamble for fun are definitely spending their money carelessly. You may be wrong on that. There are disciplined people who play for the fun and thrills and are gainfully employed and won’t have to see and use gambling as a means of getting an income. And therefore, won’t have the urge to spend carelessly looking for a win.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 25, 2023, 04:34:46 PM

Normally Chelsea suppose to win this game but the way things are going, I think the opposite will be the case. This is not the Chelsea that played draw with Manchester city because what a poor performance so far! Nothing is accurate this first half. I just don't like how Pochettino has to gamble with one player every game. Why having Ugochukwu in midfield? Why couldn't he allow the team to be a set as they have been playing and then introduce a substitute depending on how the game develops? In fact, ugochukwu should be rightly replace because he's too weak in this game. Gallagher can just help himself to be calm and make decisions that might result to goal or assist. So many mistakes to correct in the second half else Newcastle will takeaway the whole 3 points or end draw as you predicted. Let's just watch out for the second half and see how both teams will make things look.

It seems you underrate Newcastle. Both teams are good but this season,  Newcastle seems to be more consistent in their performance than Chelsea and this is being shown currently in the scoreline in the game with Chelsea.
Newcastle is currently two goals ahead of Chelsea. And while Chelsea may have some chance at staging a comeback, it’s slowly slipping away as the time counts on.
It’s the 73rd minute now and Newcastle doesn’t seem to want to relent as they’re still pressing hard for another goal. It seems the pressure is a lot on Chelsea as James has managed to get himself a second yellow card and has been sent off.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: November 25, 2023, 01:35:47 PM
That was a good save by the Man City goalie using his hands to parry it away before the defender kicked it even further away. This goal attempt about a minute away before the end of the first half, if successful would have given Liverpool a morale boost. They sure need it after struggling most of the first half.

Liverpool had only an attempt at goal and it’s not surprising with the outcome so far. It also hasn’t been so easy to retain the ball in their possession long enough.
Akanji is becoming more instrumental in the team as his presence in a game is noticeable.
432  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How do you avoid scammers? on: November 24, 2023, 02:03:41 PM
As long as you’re online and surfing the web, you’ll likely to come across several types of scammers and sites. And if you seem attractive enough, scammers would likely try to scam you of your money.
Scams would always look like a good and fast avenue to make some profit for a greedy person. It would look questionable to a reasonable person that would ordinarily make one to double check such adventure but the greed in us wouldn’t allow one to remain reasonable anymore.

Another point is to do some good research on whatever project that is seemingly attractive enough for you to want to put your money into. Don’t rely on whatever you’re being told on the other end. Continue asking questions if something isn’t clear. A reputable and legit organization would not get irritated with your questions.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: November 24, 2023, 11:51:59 AM
I'm confused and looking for answers

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?

Loneliness can make an individual cultivate and sustain habits they ordinarily wouldn’t have done if they had someone else with them. Gambling is just one out of several habits anyone can develop serious interest in due to loneliness. This happens I think, mostly with married couples who’ve lived and done most things together.

I don’t think anyone who gambles not for fun could be said to be an addict or a sign of drawing addiction. People gamble for different purposes and it’s up to them to do what suits them best. We all would be better off if we don’t judge the lifestyle of someone else and focus more on how to better ourselves.
434  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin network fees are not high is you who can't afford it. on: November 24, 2023, 11:00:19 AM
Your topic head is quite amusing. Following your logic, one can say luxurious vehicles like aren’t at all expensive and it’s only the majority of the general population that can’t seem to afford them.
I wouldn’t exactly call what’s going on now in the bitcoin network a crisis but you do you. Also, have you thought of the fact that why long term holders aren’t complaining is because they’re literally holding onto their assets and not having plans to sell anytime soon.
It’s all good the current network fees doesn’t seem high to you. But it’s definitely high for a lot of bitcoin users out there especially those in developing nations.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Most gamblers do not believe they can consistently make money, that's why... on: November 24, 2023, 09:53:18 AM
I don’t think there’s any disbelief on how gambling could turn out to be profitable for the gambler. Of course people can and has profited a lot from gambling. We’ve seen threads on here about how people have won life changing amounts from gambling and there are known people as well as high profile gamblers who are known to have made some good profits from gambling.

But it’s the constant drive to make profits from gambling that could, in the long run, push some weak minded players into playing into financial trouble and for some, into addiction.
It’s great to remain optimistic about making some good profits from gambling but it would be helpful to be realistic  about it all.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Advice when you are going a bit far in gaming and betting on: November 24, 2023, 08:57:43 AM
Different take and different intentions, addicted gambler will continue playing with his lust to satisfied his desire for gambling, no doubt that with that kind of thinking there's always excess both from the money and time that he will consume when he's inside the casino, it's better to look on it as part of entertainment and not as way of making money, the pressure is lesser and the enjoyment will allow you to accept each defeats that you will experienced, though winning can be take as bonus after enjoying.

We should never let our desires and love for something overcome us and cloud our sense of reasoning. When our desires start to control our actions, it would be always end up being detrimental to our wellbeing.
Same with gambling. An addicted gambler, having had little to no self control on his activities would always let his desire for wanting to win money through gambling prevail. If only people would look at gambling as something to do at your leisure time and not trying to earn an income.

If we find ourselves starting to gamble more and spending more money on it, we should try and develop another hobby that could occupy our time. Or better still, be productive and look for another job that would take up your time and also bring you some more income.
437  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Often Do You Check Your Seed Phrase. on: November 24, 2023, 06:42:01 AM
I don’t need to check my seed phrase often. It’s written down someplace safe, dry and kept in a location that’s both very secure and within reach whenever I may have need of it.
I don’t see the need to check on your seed phrase often if you know the location where it’s kept is a secure one and that’s why I don’t feel any urge to go checking on it every now and then.

Well, I guess it wouldn’t hurt to swing by and take a look at where I had kept mine Cheesy.
438  Economy / Economics / Re: fiat vs commodity on: November 24, 2023, 05:51:41 AM
The value of fiat is and has been experiencing a decline. What $10 could comfortably purchase for you about 30 years ago can not be purchased today with the same amount. That is evident that the value of the fiat currency is slowly and constantly decreasing. And with steady inflation that has been ravaging the markets, coupled with more fiat currency being printed regularly, is it any wonder why it’s value keeps depreciating?

Owing a property like a house built on a nice location could bring you a better return on your investment in the long run than saving your money in the bank.
With bitcoins, there is a limited amount available while with fiat, new currency is being printed at a whim making its value overtime lessen.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 23, 2023, 10:20:49 PM
Financial stability needs to be reached before getting into marriage life. Majority had suggested it, if not we should have planned well and increase the income streams. When we get married one need to have atleast thrice the earning than what we were earning as a bachelor. This will keep the family life more joyful, because the problem starts from the finance. Most of them used to stay supportive to each other, but in some cases things go different and end up with divorce or seperation.

We definitely need to be financially stable before getting married. Marriage is a whole different level as you’re now responsible for another person. And after marriage hopefully comes a child or two. You would definitely not find it easy if you’re not yet financially stable when kids comes along. Children, when they’re young can be financially and time consuming.
For anyone to comfortably cater to the needs of the spouse and children in the home, that person must be financially stable. People who rushed into marriage before being financially secure are bound to have problems that would easily have been avoided or settled quickly if they had been more financially secure.
440  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: November 23, 2023, 09:55:19 PM
Yes everyone wants to play for fun and when they earn for the first time then they thought appears in their mind that they are lucky and they will win always. But it is impossible that a gambler win all the time without losing any amount so those who initiate gambling as a fun will eventually become a permanent participant of gambling.

Yeah, a lot of people start out playing innocently and for fun but when they start down on the path of winning, they feel luckily enough to continue playing believing in themselves they would always win.
It’s def impossible to have a gambler win all the time and in this case of having played for a while and winning, that would motivate anyone to continue playing and by then, the fun isn’t there anymore as the player is just now playing to see how much he could win. This is when losses would start to happen and if you’re someone with no discipline on how he spends his money, that person would likely spend money trying to chase his losses.
