421  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fixedfloat has been hacked, don't fall to phishing sites. on: February 20, 2024, 09:02:18 AM
Just a heads up...

Fixedfloat has been hacked yesterday, the real sites is flxedfloat.com and it's currently temporary unavailable.
The website is fixedfloat.com, you should correct the website in the original post.

Quote
However there's a phishing site comes up using fixedlfoat.com domains.
Thank you for the information scammers will always use different opportunities to steal from people. They don't care if people have lost money, they still want to steal more from them.

Quote
This has been confirmed by FixedFloat's representatives too, if you want to choose swap exchange you can use eXch.cx or you can use other sites using bestchange.com

We have only one domain, all other domains are scammers. Be careful, our service is still under maintenance and we are not providing services yet.
This hack will affect their services negatively and they might not be able to come back very soon. They might be able to return if the funds are recovered, without that $26 million is too much to lose and can easily lead to bankruptcy. This is another warning that keeping large funds in exchanges is risky.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling friendly countries on: February 20, 2024, 08:36:53 AM
There is non tax charges on gamblers in my locality except for lottery winners.
The only Gambling personells that are charged to pay taxes are the gambling bookmarkers because they are strickly out there for business unlike individuals that stakes their personal funds in chasing either profits or funs.
In some countries, casinos are mandated by the government to collect taxes on their behalf. You might assume that gamblers are not taxed but their tax is indirectly by the casino to be remitted to the government. However, in some other countries gamblers are expected to fill their tax returns including incomes from gambling.

In my country, you can also include your losses in casinos in your tax returns and it can be categorised as tax reductions. So you can deduct your losses from your tax payments and pay the balance. This practice makes the tax system fair to gamblers.
423  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: American banks require permission from the SEC to store cryptocurrency on: February 20, 2024, 08:23:31 AM
Banks in the US have been obstructing the development of the Bitcoin ecosystem in the US for many years, but after the adoption of the Spot Bitcoin ETF, there is no point in this confrontation. If banks used the services of organizations to lobby their interests to become custodial holders of Bitcoin, then according to US law this is possible.
The approval of Bitcoin ETF has changed the tide in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Many of these anti-Bitcoin forces have no other option but to look for avenues to make money from the sectors since they couldn't stop its institutionalization in the US financial sector.

The US banking sector is even coming late into the crypto custody services business because some top banks in Europe have already offered custodian services to customers. Banks like Deutsche Bank and Credit Agricole's CACEIS are already major crypto custodians in Europe.

The SEC might approve this application but it will come with strict regulations. They will have access to the personal details of depositors and they might also restrict the amount or worth of cryptocurrencies these banks could keep.

424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: February 19, 2024, 07:28:00 PM
Rayo Vallecano is not the opponent who should take points away from them, but this also happens, you won’t be able to win all the matches. But since Girona have lost too many points in recent matches, this draw did not change anything for Real. By the way, Girona will also have a very difficult opponent today, although I believe that Girona can beat them. Everything will depend on the mood of the players, how much they still believe that they can continue the fight against Real Madrid.

To be honest I doubt Girona can play optimally today because they don't have any target, when Real Madrid had secured the title this season, Girona only hoped for tickets to the Champions League and we know Girona is in the right place, Athletic Club deeds 10 points to take over Girona position therefore the results of this match will not have an impact on Girona's position. But my prediction in this match is both teams will draw maybe with a score of 1-1 not sure one of them will win playing safe will be better.
I don't understand what you meant that Girona doesn't have a target because each club has plans and targets to have a good result from every game. Judging from these club's past five games Athletic Club has a better history. They have gotten ten points in these games losing just one, while Girona has gathered eight points and lost just one match. A win might not make the visitors overtake the host but it will contribute to the process of overtaking them. Athletic club will be at home in San Mamés which might be an advantage because of massive fan support but Girona will put up a good fight to at least maintain their second position. Both teams are in the same class based on current performance so the likelihood that it will end in a draw is also very high.
425  Economy / Reputation / Re: Plagiarist DiMarxist is back. No signature ban? on: February 19, 2024, 07:08:50 PM
I am just returning to the forum and make your judgement from here.

DiMarxist
My candid advice is to move on with your activities on the forum. You have been given a second chance to contribute to the forum and I don't think you should engage in all this drama. BlackBoss_ thinks you should have a signature ban just like other members who were pardoned but fortunately, you don't have such restrictions. The administrators of the forum might have a reason for sparing you, so I suggest you think of ways to justify that you deserve this magnanimity and not come up with counterattacks that will do nothing but tarnish your reputation. The originator of this thread only stated his opinion and I think he has the freedom to do it. I know you also have the right to respond but I think you should just move on.

Could you please reduce the size of your image? Thank you.
426  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC hit 1M ? on: February 19, 2024, 06:53:26 PM
Most of people want microwave results and most of them are not patient
It is Clear that bitcoin will be the only Currency for payments
Like there will be no Cash or VISA
Anyone impatient is not qualified to invest in Bitcoin. This is why most people decide to invest in projects that promise them instant profit because they are not patient enough to wait for Bitcoin to appreciate. They prefer to invest in rich quick schemes that could make them lose money due greed. I don't know how you concluded that Bitcoin will be the only currency in the future because my stance is that it will always be a viable alternative. I think people will keep using fiat side by side with Bitcoin.

Quote
You can clearly see here on Bitcoin Rainbow Chart https://www.blockchaincenter.net/en/bitcoin-rainbow-chart/
That soon will hit 100k EZ and to 1M on Future
Bitcoin price is unpredictable but there is a possibility that it could get to that amount this year or early next year. We are expecting it to beat its ATH and hit a new benchmark.

Quote
Be a Smart and Wise person Invest an amount for your Children Future on a Cold Wallet and never move those coins till your kids finish High school
So like 15-20 Years from now !

Many people limit their profit by not taking the right actions but trust me every penny worth
Even if u have low budget to invest for your kids do it , and save it for more than 15-20 years
e.g if u put today 100$  on BTC to save for ur Kids future , when they are 20 years that 100$ will go up and down in hours as bitcoin will hit High price

Dont be blind open your eyes

Banks offer special savings accounts for children. Most parents have stranding orders in the banks that automatically transfer funds to their children's savings accounts at the end of the week, month, or year. I would prefer to use DCA to save money for the future of my children than to put it in banks. Fiat currency loses value faster and it will gradually become worthless in the future. But in 12-18 years, the profit from Bitcoin will be massive.
427  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IN NEED OF AID on: February 18, 2024, 06:18:36 PM
Good day everyone, am new to this forum.
Someone told me about this forum but I wasn't adequately enlightened about the forum, so was hoping I could get some valid and helpful recommendations, and guide that could help me understand more about the forum and aid my journey here.
For a forum as sophisticated as this, am pretty much aware that there will I rules and regulations, and I wouldn't want to violet them, I'll really appreciate it if some will assist me with every necessary tools and knowledge, please.
I am surprised you said the forum is sophisticated because it doesn't look like that. The website is simple to use and its few colours make it unattractive. You have been given enough direction on the next step to take, your next move should be to invest time in learning about the forum. I have the following counsel for you,

Concentrate more on learning than making posts because you need time to get used to the forum and the Bitcoin community.

Avoid plagiarism, which involves referencing or adding a source from every piece of information that didn't emanate from you. Plagiarism leads to an outright ban.

You can use software like grammar checkers to improve your writing but the use of ChatGPT or other AI tools to write posts is forbidden.

You are free to ask any question but ensure you use the search option before asking because such a topic might have been discussed.

You will enjoy your stay here if you abide by the rules and increase your knowledge about cryptocurrencies and the forum.
428  Economy / Economics / Re: I went London i have questions now the wealthy life there on: February 18, 2024, 05:50:32 PM
My question is are people actually that rich or they just to like to show off ?

There are places you will visit in my country and you will argue that nobody is poor. These places accommodate the wealthy and influential people. You would see luxury houses and cars littered everywhere and the bars and shops will be filled with people celebrating and smiling.  But a few distances out of these places will show you the true picture of the country.

The UK has a resilient economy and the standard of living is high but there are still people that are struggling financially. Recently the UK fell into recession and there have been labour crises such as doctors' strikes and so on. I have some friends in the UK and they are having a better life than when they were still in our country but they complain of overwork. Some of them have to work for long hours for them to survive. One of them recently fainted in his place of work because he had to work in more than one place to support his family.  We might not be having the best of life in my country, but you have a chance to spend time with your family because you don't need to overwork to survive.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the rules for finding wallets on: February 18, 2024, 05:31:55 PM
Like the title says what are the rules. If I miraculously got a private key to a wallet that had Bitcoin in it but was not mine originally then does that mean I now own the wallet like finders keepers and is there any legality issues with this in the usa,uk,canada, south america. Is this more of a morality should you or should you not.
Where did you find the private key? If you find it in a place where you can easily trace the owner, it will be wrong to claim the coin. The ideal thing to do is to look for the owner and transfer the keys. It becomes more complicated if you don't know who owns the bitcoin and it is impossible to trace the owner. Let's say there was a natural disaster like a flood and you see a metal that has these keys in your garden. And there is no announcement of any missing keys from anybody. At this point, your reaction will be based on morality. You might decide to keep it or donate it to charity. You will have to explain to the government how you got such an amount. They might suspect that you got it through illegal means.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stefan Mandel hits the lottery jackpot 14 times and left the commission panicks on: February 18, 2024, 05:09:20 PM

He was bankrupt in the end though. The rules were changed because of what he had done which looks like not really cheating but just bulk-buying tickets with every possible combination.

I guess he used his money to pay the lawyers for years fighting the case. I think if you win the lottery for once in your life, you shouldn't try your luck again because if you win again, the CIA and FBI will investigate you for winning again.

On his case. He is not really trying his luck but rather using math to earn profit on a supposed luck based game. It’s sad reality that he ended bankruptcy despite he is just calculated betting without any form of cheating since he literally cover all the possible outcome.

I’m still confused why he needs to face legal battle for cheating accusations while lottery is cheat proof game because the draw is live especially if Stefan doesn’t have any connections inside.
He identified lapses in the lottery system gathered enough financial support and took some calculated risks. Mr Stefan Mandel was just a smart businessman who was able to convince investors to put in money in such a risky business.

The legal battle he went through caused him a lot of money which contributed to his bankruptcy. Sadly, he had to waste this money to fund his legal battle instead of enjoying it.

He didn't go against the rule of the lottery but he took advantage of the loophole in the system, maybe these lottery operators might be seeking any legal means that could indict him and maybe imprison him or make him pay damages to these lottery firms.

Your welcome back thread reminds me of a song by an American rapper Mase titled "Welcome Back". Many people never had a second chance, therefore you are blessed to have this uncommon opportunity. There were about seventeen applications for unbanning and you were fortunate to be one of the few who was favored. Your thread contains some lessons you have learned from the ban. I hope you will maximize this second chance to learn and contribute meaningfully to the forum. Your experience will also be helpful to newbies never to engage in plagiarism. Welcome back, mate.
432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Escape Debt with Gambling: A Dangerous Cycle on: February 16, 2024, 03:48:55 PM
I haven't replied to him and I am not answering his call as I feel I would be doing injustice if I say yes. I am confused and do not know what to do, what do you guys suggest?
Helping someone to defraud a system is a criminal offense. You cannot engage in criminal activities because you want to help a friend. It will be dangerous to help a close friend have access to a steal from an account because you know the password. He shouldn't force you to commit crime, that's not true friendship.

I will suggest you refuse his plea and help him to stop overgambling. Another problem is that gambling is not also sure, which means there is no certainty that you will be able to cheat the system and recover his losses. If you try to help him and you lose all his money, you have contributed to his downfall. He might even plan you for his losses. If you also become successful and recover his loss you might be traced and arrested for cheating or criminal activity. Let him sort out his gambling problems and seek alternatives means of settling his debts.

434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make use of what you disliked because you can't stay away from it. on: February 13, 2024, 10:15:14 PM
So can anyone force you to make use of what you don't dislike?
The reason why nations stimulate the gambling age is because they want to ensure that only mature individuals engage in it. At a mature age, you can be able to know what is good for you and also make your choices. I have visited some casinos and a few of them didn't meet my standard, the simple think to do is to withdraw your funds and move on. You cannot be forced by any casino to keep playing games with them.

As much as they allowed you to withdraw your funds, what happens to the account in future is none of your business since you don't have any intention of going back there. I like the crypto gambling sector because it is very competitive. Many crypto casinos are willing to give you the best services to make you loyal to their brand. So you can easily walk away and register in another one because none of them enjoy a monopoly.
435  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: US DoJ dismantled WarZone RAT Infrastructure on: February 13, 2024, 09:12:40 PM
Well we can call t his accomplishment by the DoJ, but there are a lot of this groups plowing around specially in the crypto sphere.

And hopefully they will continue to investigate and dismantle this kind of groups so that there will be no crypto enthusiast victims. And to be honest, we are one of those being targeted by his cyber criminals because of the huge money that they can take. And they can operate undetected for years and so they rake up big profits here. And hopefully there will be justice here and long jail time for those arrested.
This is great news and a massive accomplishment by the US government. These criminals have been attacking many actors in cyberspace making it very unsafe. Some people will tell you that the reason why they decided to avoid investing in anything that is connected to the internet is because of these criminal actors. I know that they would seek other means to continue with these criminal activities but it will take them some time and resources to reassemble.

Hoping that the arrest and prosecution of Prince Onyeoziri Odinakachi and Daniel Meli for selling and supporting the malware will serve as a deterrent to others. I am also pleased that victims of Warzone RAT are also allowed to report to the appropriate authority.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP telling people how much Bitcoin you have on: February 13, 2024, 08:50:17 PM
The increase in the price of Bitcoin is bringing much attention to the sector. Telling someone that you own the currency will bring unnecessary attention. And the issue is that most people are not aware that you can buy Bitcoin with any amount so they might think that you own one bitcoin and above. Apart from some close family members nobody knows that I own Bitcoin.

The only person who asked me the amount of Bitcoin I own is the person who introduced me to the sector. Besides him, I don't think anybody has asked me such questions because they know nothing about my Bitcoin adventure. I have read some sad stories in which people were attacked and even robbed because they disclosed that they owned Bitcoin. I prefer to keep my holding secret so that I will not get unnecessary attention.

439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Importance of Consolidation, Especially with Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA) on: February 12, 2024, 01:41:12 PM
Today I saw fees were pretty low so I decided to consolidate all my UTXOs, then I talked about it to 2 friends who didn't even know this was a thing so here is a post about it Smiley
[Guide] Consolidate your small inputs.
Thank you for this link. The recommended post by LoyceV was is very helpful and it taught me about consolidation in a simple manner. Considering how high transaction fees had been in the past few months, I think this is a very good time to consolidate funds, especially for those who have been receiving Bitcoin in bits. I am comfortable with it because you don't need to have another wallet to achieve it, you can just send it into another address in your wallet.
