421  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football teams create a kind of community on: March 20, 2024, 07:52:43 AM
This doesn't look like a topic that fits into the gambling board but I'll answer the question for you.
The point is why does football create such a tension and division that can even result to fight and dispute sometimes.
Too much emotions without any rational thinking. So many fans have gone from mild to extreme club fanaticism which is where arguments, fights and misunderstanding ensues.

PS: This topic may be moved by the mods.

I appreciate you for telling me it doesn't fit here, so you seem to be forgetting to tell me where it fits best, so I wouldn't stress the mods and move it myself.

Yeah football fans seem to get to involved with emotions and passion, they get to dedicated to this and I've seem some persons that get so angry when their club loses and it affects their state of mind, so when anything has become such a part of anyones life such extremes are bound to happen.
422  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: March 20, 2024, 07:49:04 AM
If I should be like Newton, i would say gorgeous every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, and this law is relatable in every area of life, so yes the equal reaction would be that the gambler families and immediate friends would suffer from this attitude cause if the Shame and irresponsibility that he is bringing to the house and maybe his children and wife would suffer cause he would surely gamble away his earnings that he should use to feed his children.

The opposite reaction would be on himself as the gambler that us unaware that his actions has an effect on him too, he would deeper fall into problems and would always be in lack due to poor management of his finance and probably get into debts and would always be on the run from time to time.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Football teams create a kind of community on: March 20, 2024, 07:33:11 AM
Recently I've been reading about the tension and division that football can put amongst people making it look as tho they are part of a different community or even county, like when two famous clubs are playing, and members of the same family or friends would be against each other forgetting other bonds they once had and going all out to support their club or née family they belong to.

The point is why does football create such a tension and division that can even result to fight and dispute sometimes.
424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 20, 2024, 07:28:02 AM
Why acts of racism usually are expressed in football? And I have read that racism was expressed not only by opponents team fans, but by own teams fans and even teammates. Some might say that we see racism in soccer often than in other sports, because it is most popular. But there are sports that are as popular as football. For example here is the data: https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/what-are-the-most-popular-sports-in-the-world.html. Never heard that there are racism in hockey, tennis or basketball.

That is because the football community is kind of more divided than together, if you have been to the street you would see the quarrels that happen during days of Derby matches between two popular or most fanned clubs in that area like Chelsea and man United or Chelsea and man City, that's are matches that in my area could cause fights between fans out of arguments and soon they would start getting to emotional or aggressive about their different opinions. I think it's because just like ethnic groups, football teams and the setting put everyone against each other, just like speaking Different languages.
425  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: March 20, 2024, 07:22:23 AM
There is nothing sweeter or brings out more passion from you when watching under tension, there is thsi feeling of beign part of the game and that is when you maybe played a bet and your watching a game from there or maybe your favourite club. So yeah watching a with bet is more fun to me.
426  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: March 19, 2024, 10:12:53 PM
My recent experience from gambling, prompted me to ask this question,  and just as the title stated clearly,  you can easily deduce what I am trying to ask in this thread

My experience
In the last two weeks, I have been on a steady roll in gambling and most of the stakes I placed are mostly in sports bets, dice, and spin, all these games are luck-based games unless for football that requires a little bit of analysis.

That being said, this week I noticed that I have continued in the same trend despite that I have a personal gambling rule, not to gamble for two weeks consecutively,  but unknowingly for me I am already in the third week without adhering to my own rule.

So this led me to ask the general public if I am gambling too much, although this excess didn't affect my finances in any way since I still managed to come out with little winning at the end of the day and at some level, my losses are still below 30 percent of my set out money.

Mate to be honest, this is how all gambling addiction starts, first you start with breaking the limit one and then twice and then you make a little excuse for it and soon you would have to adjust your rule to suite it.

Rules are set to place a limit on how much we can do and thsi should be strictly adherd to, I myself have broken my rule some times but I always reaffirm myself and get back on my feet, do the same for yourself and watch out for gambling addiction.
427  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Fuel stations altering pump to face sanction — FG on: March 19, 2024, 10:08:25 PM
The government of Nigeria thru the midstream and downstream petroleum regulatory authority don tok say them go penalize pipol wey get fuel station wey them adjust the fuel pumps.

The point is that DCA must not be applied by individuals with regular incomes, even those with incomes that are not regular can apply the DCA method.

That's right, I agree with that method. To start DCA it is not necessary to have a fixed income - if someone has an income only once in a while, if he is good at managing his finances, he can set aside a part of his income to be able to carry out DCA for some time. Even though this is quite difficult for some people, if the person is consistent and able to manage their finances well, it shouldn't be a problem for them.
I disagree......! It is important that you have enough income to sustain the DCA method. You have to manage enough money to meet the daily needs of yourself and your family.
Of course....you have to need money.... you need to sufficient income for start DCA. If you have no sufficient money how can you start DCA.... Even if you not Meetup your daily needs how can you decide to put money through DCA strategies. At first you will meet the daily needs to yourself and your family than others activities. If you not survive today, what will be done in future. Yes you must be HOLD Bitcoin, you must be DCA strategies after maintenance of your beloved family. How much money do you invest through DCA strategies it's depend on daily, weekly or monthly income basis. One of the best facilities of DCA strategies that it does not getting pressure to investors.

I think there is a mistake from odohu, maybe a typo error but I think he ought to say that it's not necessary to have a consistent income to use DCA which is very right as explained by himand the person that replied to that.

Your right in a way too if you look at it from the perspective that the inconsistent income might not be enough to Carter for himself and families he has one and also his investment which needs some kind of extra preparation like keeping emergency funds and reserves.

But investing requires some basic intelligence like planning and everyone must know his numbers quite well to invest(disposal income and expenses) cause this is actually how we would know if we can afford to invest or not, if your income is too low and can't Carter properly for your needs whether it came inconsistently or consistently you are taking a risk by investing in bitcoin and it is gambling rather than investing cause surely you can build your emergency funds and your investment is not even safe so your most likely to sell later.

What you should rather do in situations like this is to find a way to get a much higher income to be able to invest and also take care of yourself.
Now anyone can use DCA as long as he has disposable funds whether his income is inconsistent or consistent, if he has enough to build his emergency fund and also cater for needs he can DCA, ao the problem isn't how the income comes but how much enters and if has enough or disposable funds to allocate to bitcoin after knowing his expense, keeping floats and having a stable financial state.
429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: March 18, 2024, 12:13:09 AM
In other words, there are some advantages, towards buying when the BTC price is going down rather than when it is going up.. but you cannot really affect those kinds of situations.  You have to play with the cards that you have, and figure out what you are going to do and how you are going to deal with the current dynamics as well as future dynamics that are not really known very well until after they happen.

Everyone must invest according to his own size, and its good that we well know our numbers so that we can make better decisions regarding to the best kind of strategy to implement and how we can plan our investment journey with DCA.

everyone loves buying from the dip cause they accumulate more for cheaper price, but as an investor we must also be well prepared for both market trends and learn to keep on accumulating no matter what, with proper planning and building up our funds we can also grow to better take advantage of those bear season well when we have well built reserves or have found a way to increase or source of income.

I myself prefer to see my bitcoin journey as a normal life experience and I'm trying to build a character around it, making it a lifestyle to think in terms of building up emergency funds, keeping floats and also reserves, this way I feel I am getting ready for any opportunity  I could savour on and since we are in a bull trend having such good dips might not always come by, so when ever of if we have any I could also take advantage of them to.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling between the past and nowadays on: March 17, 2024, 11:30:28 AM
Well bro technology brought more gambling addicts into this sector since it became so easy to play games and with so little amount 🥰, technology made it possible for anyone to gamble from anywhere in the world, I could be on my casino app in the toilet, I don't need to be at the bet shop and my parents doesn't even need to know that I'm doing it, the future is simple more gambling addicts, more teenagers going into gambling at younger age, more losses and so on.
431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling by financial dependents. on: March 17, 2024, 11:26:25 AM
Every boy has to grow up to be a man and that involves making mistakes, gambling and all those risky stuff it's what we youth do, it's how we relate to life.

If you observed that he us a responsible young boy then I guess your job should be to advice him not to get addicted to gambling, do it does ruin him at a young age, even better teach him a thigm or two about how to make sure he is on the right part cause from experience you would have little result talking him out of it, so it's better you show him a better way.
432  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: March 17, 2024, 11:20:13 AM
I really dont care about how society views me, cause one thign I have learnt I how unstable there all are, just cash out a huge sum or win life changing money from it and you would see how many of them that had a negative view of you start following in that same foot step 🚶‍♂️, it's better you do your shit and care less about ever other person or you don't do it at all and live in a cage of what is right and wrong based on societal view.
433  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: March 17, 2024, 11:15:43 AM
Just as we have expressed our concerns about certain gambling advertisements serving as potential triggers, I have observed and I think that there are gambling proverbs or quotes can also play a role in influencing individuals. Look at this Chinese proverb, "If you don’t gamble, you won’t know how lucky you are." From this proverb, it can spur a regular person to explore gambling as a means to test their luck and become hooked. Also, the person who has been gambling will want to continue gambling while being hopeful that someday they would eventually be lucky and hit the jackpot.

What other proverbs or sayings could potentially act as triggers, enticing individuals to initiate or perpetuate their gambling activities?

Anyone who gives excuses for bad habits is irresponsible and doesn't have the guts to address the issue it self, that proverbs could also be understood in another light that means you should try to take risks, besides any risk is a gamble and uts 50/50 and it doesn't have to be casino gamble or sports betting, so we should try to also control ourselves with the kind of risk we take and not give excuses to other things.
434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A personal view on: March 17, 2024, 11:11:41 AM
👉how do you really feel when you lose money on gambling?  Do you feel bad or just lie to yourself that's it was for fun?
I don't feel bad whenever i lose money when gambling, but that is because i don't gamble with an amount that i cannot afford to lose, people who feel terrible when they lose money to gambling is mostly people who put too much money into it, money that they cannot afford to lose. I can feel bad if i was unlucky in a bet, i.e. if i go for soccer betting and i got one prediction wrong, i would feel bad, but not because of the money i lost, but because of i was not lucky.

Yeah not everyone has a good mindset on this, some just gamble too much and lose a lot of money and often get too sad about it, I have a friend who likes to stake high like me, although it's not that much that would make me feel uneasy and him too but when ever he loses he feels that it woudl have been better he had spend his money on  something more productive maybe food or go out chilling with it, so in that case I'll say he wasn't ready to lose that amount and gambling isn't fun that way, if you ask me.
435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is really unexpected on: March 17, 2024, 11:08:42 AM
I don't know what to say 😕, I think your persistence paid off, it took quite the time for this to happen but it happened anyway. I guess an encouragement for other gamblers your wining Day would come and you may recover all your loses, but know when to stop and try to take a break sometimes, uts also a good practice.

Congrats mate on buying your new guitar, that's a good way to spend your gambling wins than playing more until you lose it all again.
436  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: March 17, 2024, 10:43:38 AM
Humans are cunning and would blame anybody to remove pressure from their heads, just see how irresponsible they are to gamble such huge amounts that they know they can't afford to lose and then blaming someone else for it even up to the point of sewing them to court. Thank God it didn't go their way who knows what would have happened if it went otherwise.

Gamble at your own risk and don't blame anyone for your loses, its better you make your own game than even request from someone else, it's not easy to get good games, so better gamble with what you can afford to lose.
437  Other / Off-topic / Re: Dont chase your loss on: March 17, 2024, 10:39:46 AM
There are some gamblers that chase their losses to enter debt in the gambling center that led them to prison in my area and, I will not encourage any gamblers to gamble because he or she want to recover from the losses at the moment which is dangerous.

Just know that any day you experience loss, don't feel bad because there is another day to gamble and, it can be the next gamble that will make you win money that will help you to recover your losses in the past.
There are some gamblers who want to get rich quick when they get into gambling. There are gamblers who try one win after another and after some time they lose all their money. Their quick excitement in gambling is the main reason for their losses. The gambler must remember that gambling is not for one day. Moreover, no gambler can ever become rich from gambling in a day. Although there are many who are lucky enough to change their lives by winning the lottery. But usually it is not possible to succeed from here quickly. Those who consider gambling as part of a long-term strategy or who strive for responsible gambling can survive in gambling.
Gambling should always be viewed as a long-term plan rather than a quick way to get rich. Anyone who enters gambling with the expectation of winning big and fast is setting themselves up for disappointment. Responsible gambling, on the other hand, entails setting boundaries and managing expectations. It all comes down to developing and sticking to a strategy.
One problem that majority of gamblers encounter is the intentions for Gambling, this is what determines what gambling technique a person employs, so it's important to always remember that Gambling is nothing more but game meant for recreational purpose and not to maximize profit
Someone already said that Gambling is part of investment in which you safe your funds when you lose them while gambling.
IMO I think it's a bit true because there's always losing when you stake on games and truth be told that ass you lose you will definitely win some day.
Even when win a little money from gamble and you have lost much money on gamble, don't feel bad because one day you will win that's why gamble is not a get rich quick scheme.
If you want to win in gambe it will take a long time for you to win and even when you managed at your first try, I would call it luck because winning on first try is always luck.
Losing is part of investment? Gambling could never be considered to be an investment and also there would really be no assurance that you would really be able to win back those loses or having those kind of beliefs that you could really be able to have a winning round just because you have lost too much on the earlier rounds? This is something a mindset that would really be putting you up on so much trouble.
It would really be better that shouldnt really be thinking up this way because if you do then you are really having to tend to put up on risks on having that even more deeper loses.

As been said that it wont really be that a good idea that you would really be chasing up your losses because this is something that will really be making you that wrecked up your finances.
Gamble on the amount on which you can afford to lose then you would really be just that fine and never intend to chase it up. Once you do bust it all then you should
really be knowing on calling it a day.

Your right there is a huge margin between gambling and investing and there are not relatable at all even if they both involve risk. Gambling is all about probability and luck cause it has to do with speculation and predicting the outcomes of uncertain events and it could work or not, but investment has to do with items or commodities of value and the risk here is if there would still have more value from when you bought it or if it would decline in value from when you bought it, so the game is all about making informed decisions here, although they both involve making right decisions but you have a better chance at getting profits from investment than gambling cause you are depending on luck and not quality information.
438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A personal view on: March 17, 2024, 10:35:04 AM
👉how do you spend your gambling wins: I know a lot of persons that woudl say gambling wins is for enjoyment and would use to to buy cloths or shoes or may go out to have fun. And you also like this? Or do you use you gambling wins for other issues?
I see that most people who win money often continue to use this money to gamble. Few people can spend it in a more enjoyable way unless it is unexpected that they will win large sums of money. For me, I usually use a portion of my gambling winnings for the longterm investment.

Yeah this is very true most peopel often get lost in over excitement of winning and tend to play more games that they out to and spend all their wins on gambling again, this is a very honest opinion, I know the tendencies of this happening amongst gamblers especially when  won through virtual or simulated games like casino games, but those that win of rela live features don't always have thsi attitude cause it takes patience for their to come.
439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which of these betting Statements Do you Agree or Disagree With? on: March 17, 2024, 10:26:24 AM
Don't bet all your money on one bet.

I prefer to play one game at a time so I definitely don't agree with this cause I do t think having plenty games would increase my winning chance or maybe one of them might enter, I just predict my short small odds and stake high on it.

Bet the same amount on every bet.

I think this is almost relatable to my first answer, I stake one game at a time so I don't need to split my staking amount into bits for any reason. I just stake high and full.

Don't bet more than once a day.

I can bet more than once in a day as long as I'm not exceeding my gambling limit for the day or have used up all my allocates amount, it works for me so i don't see any reason not doing it.

Don't bet every day.

Yeah this is true, I only bet when I feel the need to and that is when I see games that I can predict on or feel okay doing.
440  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Demands All Jan 6 Detainees Be Released From Prison After Tucker Carlson.. on: March 17, 2024, 08:17:02 AM
Read some of the news and i dont know what to say really, although some may actually be innocent but what about the others that committed the crime, should they just go unpunished for their actions and if they do what kind of justice would that be for so many others that have been punished for crimes like this, I think if this must happen it should not be without proper percussion of each person in the court and let the law determine who woudl go unpunished or not even if I know that the law cam be very partial at times but I think it's better than letting everyone go.
