421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Market Reopening in South Korea on: May 17, 2018, 01:33:17 PM
It seems that this bill has quite a chance of being approved. This news is not surprising, the ICO bans in countries like China or South Korea are a way to buy time while their governments study how ICOs work and how they should regulate them. While in the vast majority of countries governments decided to regulate without prohibiting or stopping the activity of ICOs, in these countries they have chosen to do things in a more drastic manner.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin ever be so popular like real money ?? on: May 17, 2018, 12:20:24 PM
Bitcoin will be much more popular in the coming years, there's no doubt about that. However, I think it will not become so used and known as real - fiat money. There are many people who don't connect to the internet or who are not interested in new technologies, while others will not want to use bitcoin for its volatility, for not being able to understand how it works or simply because they will choose the security provided by their fiat currency.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that STABLECOINS are needed in the future of crypto payments? on: May 16, 2018, 09:12:20 PM
No, to make payments I don't think the stablecoins are necessary. Instead, they are an interesting concept if you are thinking in holding. For example, if someone wants to hold for a long time and is worried about the possibility that the price of his coins falls, he could get some stablecoins and hold them. The problem is to guarantee that the value of those stablecoins stays really stable, after all, they are just another cryptocurrency. Anyway, I think the only people who use the stablecoins are the traders when they think that the market is going to drop.
424  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks Could Use Cryptocurrencies to Mitigate Financial Crises on: May 16, 2018, 08:16:22 PM
Banks are not blind to the advance of blockchain technology, and they are aware of the great advantages it can bring to their business. Everyone knows that banks are very interested in blockchain technology and not so much in bitcoin or the most of the known cryptocurrencies. It's normal since banks can't work with bitcoin, they need a cryptocurrency that is centralized and has a private blockchain.
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is your smartphone your best friend? on: May 16, 2018, 05:04:40 PM
So the idea is to let an application access all kinds of personal data, voluntarily losing all your privacy, to calculate your credit score based on parameters as inefficient as your musical tastes or how many posts you write a week on your social networks. I'm sorry but it doesn't convince me.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What would you say to the younger generation? on: April 23, 2018, 05:18:31 PM
I wouldn't tell them anything because they don't need it. Future generations will grow up using cryptocoins as something normal, for them they will be like using a mobile phone or a laptop. They will discover their potential for themselves and use them to transform the world.
427  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - If you had the choice to vote - Commodity or Currency? on: April 23, 2018, 02:53:44 PM
Undoubtedly I would define bitcoin as a currency. This is what bitcoin is supposed to be and what will be once the majority of people start using it in daily life.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your thoughts on the Savedroid exit scam 'stunt ' on: April 22, 2018, 06:45:58 PM
I think they have made a mistake, I don't know what their intention was but all they have achieved is a bad reputation for their project, we only need to see the reaction of people through social networks. To say that they wanted to send a message to the community seems like a very poor excuse to me.
429  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Germany gives tax exemption for bitcoin exchange operators on: April 22, 2018, 03:01:08 PM
Germany is doing nothing more than applying what was ruled by the Court of Justice of the European Union in 2015. The interesting thing about this news is that Germany is, together with France, the most important country and leader within the European Union and its decisions can have an influence on the rest of the EU member countries. It's interesting that, unlike France, Germany adopts a more crypto-friendly approach, closer to the approach of countries such as Portugal or Malta.
430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you keep your crypto informations securely? on: April 21, 2018, 11:44:02 PM
Hi. We all have too many passwords, private keys, adresses, registration informations. I want to askt how you keep them. I dont ask you to explain where you put your ledger wallet  Grin  For example, I keep my passwords and private keys on a simple document which I created on my laptop. This means that if I lose my computer or someone stoles it, I may lose too many things. What are your solutions? Is there any safe option? I have to get precautions before it is too late.

The best method is to write that information in two separated papers and hide these papers in safe places. You can keep one paper inside a book and the other on your nightstand.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone like badmouth about Bitcoin but everyone use it and clone it on: April 21, 2018, 02:30:25 PM
At the same time, most of the altcoins look like the same from each other, nothing new...
If Bitcoin is so bad then why do you clone it to make your own coin? And more important why do you use the brand name, logo etc....

In these cases it's just a marketing strategy. With the immense amount of altcoins that there are in the market, when you create a new coin it's possible that nobody pays attention to it. That's why they use the name "bitcoin + something", promising to be the new bitcoin or the coin that will fix some supposed bitcoin failure. They use the bitcoin brand to draw attention to their coin and as they need to convince people that their coin is the good one, they need to talk bad about bitcoin. In the end, over time, the bitcoin solves their problems while almost all these new coins are forgotten.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to secure your account! on: April 20, 2018, 03:25:59 PM
How to secure your account!
SECURITY NOTICE ON BITCH - Bitfinex

Currently, Twitter frauds are occurring on the SECURITY level. Everyone should note that the trading floors, namely Bitfinex, do not have any gift programs or ask for money back from the user. So be cautious when meeting the above information and carefully investigate before giving money to any organization.

Note:
- The only Bitfinex account on Twitter is Bitfinex
- The official account will have a blue checkmark next to it
- Make sure the username and username match the official account
- Be wary and prudent when interacting with any advertising account that gives you gifts or calls for contributions or income guarantees.

Many people are falling into the traps of these fake accounts on twitter. They were very quick to ban ICOs ads, but they have not done anything about these accounts .
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Barclays considering Bitcoin trading desk. on: April 20, 2018, 02:19:01 PM
Another installment in the never-ending saga of the maturity of cryptocurrency. Reminds me of this quote: "All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident." ~Arthur Schopenhauer

This also happened with the internet, at first many people didn't believe in their potential and now the internet is everywhere. With bitcoin something similar will happen, it will be something daily and will be used in the same way that today a mobile phone with an internet connection is used. As for the news itself, I don't think it will have a big impact on bitcoin, it's just another example of a bank that seems to change its mind to adapt to the interests of its customers.
434  Economy / Economics / Re: If the world uses a single currency on: April 19, 2018, 11:02:48 PM
If the world uses a single currency, will the economy be more stable?
This is a very interesting question. The sovereign nations issue their own currencies and are taken for granted by many people, but few consider whether this is the economically optimal option.

In fact the adoption of the single currency was once proclaimed by the Chinese government, at the G-20 summit in London in March 2009. But this idea is not very well supported. What is clear the positive response to follow-up application is still very far away. In Southeast Asia itself, has also been initiated also unified currency, a kind of Euro for the single currency area. However the countries in it are not very enthusiastic about responding.

That lack of enthusiasm is quite understandable. Having a common currency means that you, as a country, do not have control over your currency since that control resides in other countries. The monetary decisions that can affect the economy of your country don't depend on you but on the consensual decisions that all the countries that use the same currency take.
435  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Had a talk with my son today about my bitcoins on: April 19, 2018, 08:27:23 PM
Although the child is very intelligent and has understood everything perfectly, I think it would be a good idea to write the instructions on paper and keep this paper in a safe place.
436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on TV - From 2016 to 2018 on: April 19, 2018, 01:32:35 PM
Little by little, the media is changing its approach to cryptocurrencies. I think the association of bitcoin with crime was due to ignorance and sensationalism. When the media have realized that there is a growing interest in bitcoin by the average citizen, especially young people, they have changed their approach. However, I must admit that I don't like it when they talk about cryptocurrencies in speculative terms, making the audience believe that they are going to make a lot of money quickly and easily.
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We do not need government and bank any more on: April 19, 2018, 11:37:35 AM
When people say that in the future we will not need governments, I would like them to explain how society will be governed in that future. Above all, what is the alternative to governments? I only see two options, the first is anarchy and chaos, the second is a future where instead of being governed by our governments we would be governed by large corporations. I don't think that this alternative would be better than governments, after all we, as citizens, can choose our leaders, but we can't choose the CEOs of these corporations.
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is regulating Crypto killing the market? on: April 08, 2018, 09:25:51 PM
I don't think so, on the contrary. Regulations will set a clear framework that will allow some important players enter into the market. Moreover, in the long run these regulations will facilitate the adoption of cryptocurrencies by businesses and enterprises.
439  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you agree with me... With this factor that influence Bitcoin price? Check on: April 08, 2018, 06:38:05 PM
On the one hand, I think that the negative news and FUD from the media impact on the price of bitcoin. In fact, taking into account that there are powerful financial groups behind these mass media, I think that these newses have the intention of making the bitcoin price drops so these groups can buy bitcoin at a lower price. On the other hand, during the rally of the last year we could see some negative news from China and other countries that didn't have any effect on the price of bitcoin, so I don't know if the influence of media on the price of bitcoin is real or not.
440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The future of Crypto Currency? on: April 07, 2018, 02:48:10 PM
I would like to start a discussion about the future of Crypto.

How long crypto will last?
Can crypto die?
Can government kill crypto?

Crypto will last as much as its users want. Crypto only can die if users lose interest in it. Governments have no interest in killing crypto.
