421  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: August 01, 2012, 12:43:02 PM
Ehhhh, look at the volume on those "down" movements. Hardly any coins are being dumped, especially compared to the size of that wall. This isn't the same person.
422  Economy / Securities / Re: (TyGrr) TYGRR.BOND-B 0% weekly dividends (2% July 10th 17th 24th)(0% After) on: July 31, 2012, 04:27:13 PM
By the way, I will be making a new bond that pays 1% weekly with new terms. I will trade this for equal value on the 24th or after if anyone is interested.

Thanks.

Hello there,

Are there still any plans on offering 1% weekly bonds? Thanks for the info!
423  Other / Meta / Re: Automatically save outgoing PM's in outbox on: July 30, 2012, 01:52:00 PM
Actually I think it would be useful if the forum software would enable that automatically upon account creation, although that could lead to ballooning disk space.

Compared to all the forums posts, PMs shouldn't require significant disk space.

I feel like a retard Grin
Thank you very much, GoodBear!
425  Other / Meta / Automatically save outgoing PM's in outbox on: July 30, 2012, 01:21:28 PM
I forget checking the "Save a copy in my outbox" option a lot when sending PMs, but I want to save all outgoing PMs to keep track of a lot of things. Is there a way to keep it enabled by default? If not, could this please be implemented? Thank you very much in advance Smiley
426  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE - request for next features on: July 26, 2012, 10:19:19 PM
I made some changes which have sped the site up, more are on the way over the coming few days for the same purpose (making things faster). We're also going to see the end of reserve for BTC in your account so you'll be able to place more orders in the next couple of days as well.

In about a week we'll have a new server up n running which will do two things, increase the site speed for EVERYONE and will give us a kind of hot swap should one of the two servers go down for whatever reason.

Much more coming.

Noticing huge improvements, great job! Looking forward to even more speed Smiley

Gentlemen please place your bids!

What's the minimum price the shares will be sold for?
428  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Question for CLAG - Is "Insider Trading" legal in Bitcoins? on: July 22, 2012, 10:11:38 AM
Why?!?!! What do you know???   Grin

If someone posts "BUY BUY BUY" on the forums and I buy bitcoins, is that insider trading?

No. Information on this forum is public.
429  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will reach $25 by the end of the year on: July 19, 2012, 11:09:58 AM
...
Except Bitcoinica wasn't a bucketshop.

And what it was?

A trading platform with leverage. All trades were done either on Mtgox as a hedge or internally if two different people took opposite positions.
Bitcoinica fucked up a lot of things (Or atleast the Intersango guys did), yes. But it wasn't a bucketshop. Bitcoinica never took positions against their clients.
430  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will reach $25 by the end of the year on: July 19, 2012, 10:56:59 AM
Thats why difficulty increases with every single GH added to the network.

No it doesn't.
Difficulty increases with a higher GH/s rate, not just with every GH.
So the current -speed- of mining decides difficulty.
Less people currently mining = less difficulty.
http://bitcoin.sipa.be/ shows this clearly.
Between 1 year and 6 months ago the difficulty was falling because hashrate was falling because the price was falling.

So the first event should be a rise in BTC price "with no relation to mining". Good point! So what do you think about the price of BTC @ 25$ by the end of the year?

Seing the history of bitcoin it could be anywhere between $2 and $50....
Depends on how greedy the speculation will get.
Another factor is whether there will be a new bucketshop on leverage that will suck up the speculation.
I think that around $5 was the natural nonspeculated price of bitcoin (with bitcoinica entertaining the speculators in their little shop of buckets) so we are now in a speculation bubble.
Wait for it to burst and sell before that happens. Smiley
Speaking of bubbles..

RAAAALLLYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

Except Bitcoinica wasn't a bucketshop.
431  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Client + Blockchain package download on: July 19, 2012, 10:53:59 AM
Pardon my ignorance, but I just downloaded bitcoind for the first time on a laptop it it took 3 days to catch up with the blockchain. Is there a way to download the client with the blockchain already "loaded"?

Note: I'm aware of lite clients but would like to store the blockchain locally, but update as little of the blockchain as possible from install

I wouldn't download the client from anywhere else besides bitcoin.org, and they don't offer a blockchain already loaded with the client.
Having said that, it is possible to download the blockchain separate from the client: http://eu1.bitcoincharts.com/blockchain
Don't forget to run with -rescan the first time you start it with a wallet that already has funds in it.
432  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] NASTY - Free Electricity, GPUMAX.com, Free ASIC Upgrade! on: July 18, 2012, 01:40:26 AM
I kinda prefer a regular set time each week.  Easier to keep track of things.

But I won't be upset if I received smaller dividends frequently throughout the week.

+1

It's much easier to compare Nasty to other listings if dividends are paid weekly, just as most other companies do it.
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoinica MtGox account compromised on: July 17, 2012, 03:30:24 PM
Let's stay completely silent again, without any outgoing payments. Great job guys, great job!

It is time to end the Bond and this is the notice. I will be buying back the bonds at .102 on the 24th of July or will offer .1BTC after I pay out the last dividend on the the 24th. Thanks for your support.

Thanks for a nice and steady service.

No problem, thank you for your trust.

BTW the bond will still live on but at the very low .03% weekly interest.

You mean .3%, right?

438  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] [YARR] 100% Insured Pirate Passthrough! PM usagi for 10% off! on: July 16, 2012, 11:50:43 PM
Can I buy shares through you directly, or must I go through GLBSE?

For convenience sake, I suggest you buy through the GLBSE. However if you really want to hold your shares with me offline, it's possible. Please send me a PM and I can set up a deposit address for you.

Thanks and good luck~

Send you a PM Smiley
439  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] [YARR] Share Offer @ 2pm UTC ! on: July 16, 2012, 02:38:43 PM
What was the IPO price by the way?

I think it was supposed to be 1.3, but the first several trades were at 1.28.

It looks like only 130 shares have been sold in the past hour and 45 mins (since 2 PM UTC / 10 AM Eastern).  Where are the other 220?

Sold privately to people on IRC.

There's 27 shares left. Depending on how I handle the influx I could sell a few hundred more. But this is a tricky business, at some point I have to stop selling shares for a considerable length of time and I am trying to wrap my head around the best way to do that. Please contact me in PM or on IRC if you are interested in YARR shares going forward. I will keep a small amount up on the market if I can.

Can I buy 7 of those 27 left? Smiley

They were waiting on me to wake up after falling asleep waiting for the confirmations to come in.

11 BTC paid out

Thanks, much appreciated!
