FYI:  I applied 0.98-1 to a client's Jupiter unit that was at 320 GH and it fixed the issue and now it is well over 500 stable for almost a week.

D&T:  With all this information in hand (I thank you), what is your prognosis for the state of the mining sector in 6 months?  Which do you see giving way, BTC FX Rate (upward), Hardware Pricing (Way down) or Difficulty finally leveling off or declining?  Basically which of these mechanism will breakdown to possible compensate for the deluge of hardware coming online?

Your thought?

Thanks,
Dalkore

433  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KNC Jupiter suddenly died. Anybody had similar issue? on: October 27, 2013, 07:40:11 PM
My issue:    One unit does not get through the boot process.  The LEDs on the right side of the Ethernet port never turn on.  It stops at that point.   I have triple checked all connection and swapped a known good PSU.  I sent an email in without response.  At this point I think I have a bad controller board and just need them to send me a new one so I can mail this one back.  Anyone else have this issue?

-D

Have you tried reseating the beagle board and or all the connector cables from the ASICs to the control board? Also what firmware were you on before the issue came up?

I did but I will do it again to be absolutely sure.  It has the stock firmware which I believe 0.96.  Can I actually take the beagle board, which I assume as the network port on it, and reseat it?   I didn't know if it was secured on there or if it was removeable.

Yes, I am told they will OC if they detect a temperature that is is programmed to OC at.  I would suggest either purchasing a properly sized A/C for your units or host them in a data-center that is running a lower temp if you want to explore that avenue.
439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 22, 2013, 08:46:18 PM
Hosted Jupiter here. Eligius says 320 GH/s but KNC Portal stats read 510 GH/s?

That is a large discrepancy.  How would we explain that?
