421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 21, 2013, 07:43:13 AM
if/when someone organize a bounty (lets say 1,000 nxt for each person) - I donate 4m nxt.
You mean when someone organizes a giveaway (bounties are typically set to get some part of a project done by someone)
If you mean donating for giveaway, I guess you should wait a bit, perhaps one of us could open a giveaway thread and offer people some Nxt in reward for them spreading the word and story of Nxt in other places and to more people (for example to other btt sections, social networks, news services, local communities...)
This is dacoinminster's style of giveaway for mastercoin, which could be very effective: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=272577.0
A member post his efforts links and proofs for spreading the word of Nxt + a Nxt account id. Giveaway runner will review the new efforts each weekend once and will send some Nxt to each new poster proportional to the effectiveness of his/her efforts for advertising Nxt!
Giving away a flat 1000Nxt to everyone, in the style of ripple, would bring more harm than benefit to Nxt future ecosystem.
We also need to set some bounties, I was thinking about:
1-500K bounty for a nice youtube video about Nxt;
2-100K for a general article about Nxt;
3-50K for a chineese translation of the above article.
More coming!
PS: perhaps one can open a buyer/seller thread for people to put their bid/ask offers and start trading soon Wink

Stake mining reward will be supplied by tx fees.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 08:03:17 PM
I didn't say it goes par with bitcoin...I just corrected his calculations!
Thank you for wishing us luck, good luck to you as well Smiley

Quote
We invested ~21 BTC which is one millions of total BTC supply. If Nxt goes on par with Bitcoin then 1 NXT should be equal to 0.001 BTC. Hm, the same result. Math can't lie.  Cheesy
wrong: if Nxt go par with bitcoin then each Nxt=(21Million/1Billion)* 1000=21mBTC so there will be Nxt=0.021 btc

I think we should wait until Sunday evening for those 7 guys to recorrect their hashes.

Okay bitdraw people knew you won't buy at that price, what's more?! I personally do not sell at that 1BTC=1M Nxt, but will give away several thousands of Nxt to some friends to play with as well  Wink
425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 07:12:42 PM
Guys let's leave this to future and start thinking about spreading the word and also assigning some bounties!
+maybe some of us can bring a poker game or auction site into Nxt equation soon  Smiley
PS: at the lowest potentiality, Nxt could be a good medium for instant p2pexchange!
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 11:38:23 AM
But only a person who is involved in Nxt development can be useful to inform them the technical details!

Aye, right. Unfortunatelly, I know a little about the server part. Let's wait when sources r published.
You know if you publish the source code now, the clone by a stupid copy cat will be out in a week and all our stakes will be air!
It is much wiser to publish the codes only after Nxt gets some momentum and receives more users.
BCNext can prepare and send you a short article about general and semi-technical sides of Nxt and what it is capable of doing (I guess he can do it even in his shadowed fortress) and then you can reach the CoinDesk editors with the new info.
Also so easy to send a btt pm for Vitalik of btcmagazine here to tell him about Nxt and ask him to have a look. (I believe you can do it even now)
Finally if BCNext remains in his silly state of absence, I guess stake holders will be agreed to pay you some Nxt to head things forward and become the medium!
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 11:28:06 AM
Well everyone can reach them, just go to their site and send them a message or email. But only a person who is involved in Nxt development can be useful to inform them the technical details!
The logo is nice, but if people choose the other names, it may become useless Wink
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 11:16:09 AM
Dude I am also involved with some other coin, but yeah passive was not the good phrase to explain the situation Cheesy
Some quick points that come to my mind:
1-Please specify in the OP post that sending btc period is over (some newb may jump in the first page and dump some coins)
2-Unclaimed coins should go directly to a publicly known faucet account, or be used for placing bounties (I prefer the second one)
Also making these bounties as listed bellow:
1-A youtube video colorfull enough to explain what Nxt is and provides.
2-A contest bounty for a logo.
3-Reaching one of CoinDesk or BitcoinMagazine editors to inform them about Nxt and ask them to publish a report about it! (VERY IMPORTANT)
Also I think it is much wiser to represent the whitepaper first now and postpone the open source codes publishing to after the new year.
Even the 3rd step alone needs BCNext to move his ass forward and act a bit more passionate about his own project!
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 20, 2013, 08:45:20 AM
non-specified hashes Huh Could you explain a bit more clear?
Also I didn't mean telling BCNext through you, I just paraphrased it that way. Also I know it is only a paid job for you, and you are too passive about Nxt (no complain, just mentioning the fact), that's why I am worried and believe BCNext should come ahead and act boldly.
430  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BOUNTY] P2P EXCHANGE on: November 19, 2013, 09:20:29 PM
Mastercoin and Coloredcoins both are working for obtaining this objective, both good projects, first one with huge funding and second with a good development bounty. There is another one, claiming to pay dividends too, but it is an obvious ponzi.
Nxt and eMunie both will have p2pexchanges natively attached (both altcoins). Nxt is a pure POS and will be launched in a few days..
And there is Freimarkets which called for crowd funding to start developing the whitepaper scheme, but the last time I spoke with its creator, he told me that crowd funding has not been satisfactory yet (about month ago)
Among those three (mastercoin-coloredcoin-freimarket) I found freimarket the advanced one, you may have a look into their whitepapers each to decide for yourself. Also Nxt if what its creator said before become true will be a very suitable choice to use for trading securites (decentralized coloredcoin exchange+instant transactions+internal messaging+decentralized DNS features). This is to be seen soon in practice, you may have a look too. eMunie will be launched in January with several similar advanced features promised. There is the possibility to use these altcoins as a dilemma to to exchange btc securities, commodities and any other token.. Have a look into them too.

..that's a lot more people working on this than I thought.  Thanks.

MasterCoin white paper:   https://github.com/mastercoin-MSC/spec
Coloredcoins:                  http://coloredcoins.org/
Freimarkets:                   http://freico.in/docs/freimarkets-v0.0.1.pdf
Pauv:                            http://pauv.org/paper.pdf

DO you have ETAs for a working P2P exchange that can be used to exchange BTC<->$ from any of these?
Mastercoin and Coloredcoins are under development.. Freimarkets not started yet (needs donations)
Nxt genesis block just has been released today, and will start this week AFAIK. It has colored coins feature implemented natively in a decentralized manner. It is possible to use it for trading any kind of tokens. There will be a direct BTC to Nxt exchange as well. Can't say more because it is to be seen before making practical judgement and also because I invested a small part (I have not the morality of Bump and Dump). I recommend you to have a look into it and decide for yourself. Also have an eye on eMunie which will be launched in January.
As for donations, the most deserved one is Freimarkets (I am not involved with it).
To answer the other guy who posted after you: yes coloredcoins themselves are not decentralized but they could be implemented in a decentralized manner (which is what the Nxt guys promised us). I saw your scheme too, it has been the recent one and I couldn't make a review and judgement yet.

431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 19, 2013, 08:59:30 PM
Please tell BCNext that he should find a way to interact with his project directly, otherwise Nxt will look like a 1 week old baby left in hospital without any parents. Also he should make a PR plan as well.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 19, 2013, 08:38:33 PM
Mine also looks correct!

Again vlad2vlad: prophet of prediction, who believe close to 100% of people are plain sheep!
(Disclaimer: if you oppose him or argue his comments, you ll be named a sheep or idiot by the prophet with his crystal at his right hand)
@vlad: you were standing with 2000 post last week, now 3000, wow good hard work! Wondering which will reach 10000 record earlier, BTC price or your big mouth Wink
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 18, 2013, 04:15:15 AM
If Nxt come true and get popularized, it would be a much bigger event than mastercoin in the scene of crypto-currencies (along with eMuine)!
Don't take me wrong, besides some rational critiques I respect mastercoin project as well, but secure POS models are the future way to go and lean on.
The main and only problem of Nxt project is the lack of any PR at all, the main developer resides and works in the shadow Sad
436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 14, 2013, 08:05:01 PM
That was a stupid thread. And by the way any altchain can be used as the vehicle to make another Silk Road, not only Nxt!
(which I hope never come true, crypto-currencies are promising innovative efforts to change the world to a better and fairer, stuffs like Silk Road and things alike dilute and hurt these reformist efforts)
437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: November 14, 2013, 07:31:08 PM
Am I missing something Huh Why FBI/CIA should be after BCNect or Nxt in general?!
The project has not even been completed, and even when it gets completed, what is a threat?!
Not necessary to mention that at the moment:
1-There are other projects that work on decentralized exchanges;
2-Some that actively work on anonymity aspects;
And all these projects have open known public faces including developers and managers. so why FBI should be after an uncompleted Nxt, when there are others with public faces doing the same and even more (anonymity is not a feature of Nxt I suspect), specially when some of these known faces reside in US? I am a bit confused Sad
438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- Bitcoin Transaction Fees to Sky-Rocket - Bank Takeover on: November 14, 2013, 03:25:54 AM
Why people bother themsleves to start answering a thread which has been started by a self-confident idiot!
Just look at his (vlad2vlad) posts: he believes he knows pretty much above the 99% of guys here, he calls people sheep, he thinks he has the future already 100% predicted by him at hand, and in particular argues the concerns about what a currency is by referring to the practices of ancient greeks lol, while neglecting the most obvious most important example of global dollar Cheesy
Is it really wise to even notice what a 200 hours 3000 posts self-confident mouth says?!
Look at his previous posts in other threads, just to see what I mean! This guy needs to be taken serious, to be known genius, his wounded complexes needs healing Wink

So you don't agree that people in general, the masses, are sheep?

In that case, I'm sad to tell you, that you're one of them.

Baha baha baha baha.
You know you are the archetype of what!?
Who is the sheep doesn't need any explanation here Wink
I am sure you can, by the end of this month, reach 5000 posts for sure!
Good Luck Wink

You bring those definitions and read them, like they are from bible and therefore signed by god!?
There is a historical experience and attitude of what we name as modern money, currency and whatsoever that looks too tangible to us now.
You bring Webster's definition,  Grin, even famous economists still have disagreements about so many of these commonly used, already placed in dictionaries terms that you bring from the ironic bible!
Our experience of US dollar which has been the dominant global currency for more than 60 years give us a good approximate picture of what a currency looks like. The main problem of USD is not its general properties as a currency but its centralization, which has been the main reason for creation of bitcoin.. but BTC has been behaving more like gold than dollar so far.
Who's the self confident noob, I am not going to argue Wink
