421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Help understanding Uniswap and similar places on: January 22, 2024, 09:57:17 AM
Hi, no expert here.
Please help me understand something if you can.
I've been starting to use ledger swap feature, Uniswap with ledger and so on.
I've understood I have to allow two things to happen.
Token approval first and then the swap.
I've spent a lot of money in fees because something wasn't working very fast and well so I did the same thing more than once but that's OK, my fault.
What I want to understand is:
Let's suppose I want to swap 500 usdc for eth.
Let's suppose I have just that amount of usdc in my wallet.
If I authorize the maximum amount and then I swap, does it end there?
I mean: if the next day I send other usdc to my address, is there the risk those usdc are spent without my will?
Is it recommended to revoke something after the swap if the token approval has no limit?
I hope I explained myself Cheesy
Thanks in advance Smiley
Web3 Transactions doesn't exclude transaction fee from the amount you Enter. so if you chose max and send then the transaction would most likely end up getting fail, so you must keep as much as you need to pay for gas and then you can swap the rest.
and No. there is no any risk of your fund getting cut after you deposit more funds. Ledger is a non custodial wallet, it desn't exclude your balance without your permission.
the reason why you spent a lot of fee i think was because you are using Ethereum chain. Fees are generally high in ethereum chain.
422  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for new coin listing alerts app on: January 21, 2024, 11:52:39 AM
Hi,

Can anyone recommend any service www or aplication that provides alerts and signals to email or sms for new coin listings on exchanges.....thanks
I don't know any of such websites or app yet. but I am sure something like that would exist. I think there are telegram channels like that which share new coins listing in the exchanges. or you can search new listing via Twitter.
CoinGecko and coinmarketcap websites are also good ways to find new listings.

I do not know if there is any of such app but what I do is that I have several exchanges. All the exchanges will give a notification about the coin that they are about to list on their site. Some of them also have in-app notifications.

Bro it is not convenient and also not easy to follow that many exchanges together. then they need account creation and some even need KYC at the begining. so a platform which alert about every exchange would be a lot more helpful for this purpose.

423  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be deceived!! on: January 21, 2024, 11:46:55 AM
A lot of altcoiners are always excited about the release of a new crypto currency that they rush into promoting and mining these altcoins which at the end of the day turn out to dip exponentially when they are listed on various exchanges or when they are lunched on their mainnets.
Of course mining these coins isn't a bad thing but unfortunately most of these coins are  scam projects. A lot of these developers create these coins as a profit only scheme for themselves and the earliest adopters. so in order to make profit they carry out the famous pump and dump.
During the pump period of the coin the developers and creators of these coins give the coin a high value which would look very promising and therefore draw more people into the adoption circle. Alot of These people fail to understand that since these coins are on a testnet, they are some what of no value.

Now how do they trick these so called miners?

During this pump period people who troop into mining these coins per say are willing to do anything possible so they could acquire as much  of the coin as possible. Therefore these developers introduce a referral and KYC scheme.
Here is the catch ;
these miners refer as much people as they can so they can increase their mining rate and their coins, which on the other hand brings more profit to the developers. Now the more people troop in to accumulate the coins the more KYC Data the developers can accumulate. These creators can later sell these data for their profit in the future.

And then comes the dump period here the coin is eventually launched and listed on  few exchanges and boom a coin which during mining was said to have a value of over $10- $20  drops to just a couple of cents making the average adopters accumulated coins to be nearly useless.

To further trick people to buying these coins after the launch, the devs and creators make up articles and stock charts insinuating that Bitcoin was just a few cents during its launch but it now has a value of over $43k so people should endeavor to buy much of these coins and hold them for a long while hoping that it would eventually rise like Bitcoin over time which is a lie.

Why waste  your time and risk your KYC data on the shitcoins?  when you can actually easily understand and hodl Bitcoin which is safer and decentralized. Don't be deceived that such coins in the future will turn out to be like Bitcoin.
There are many scam projects out there so make sure to research and most importantly avoid KYC.
Remember don't forget to keep your keys safe!!

It looks like you are referring to ICE Coin (https://Ice.io) that is the project currently Running a Mining app. and also increase mining power when you refer someone to their app.
I understand your reasons and they happen to be true most of the tiem. but some time there can be good projects. I don't know what will be the Future of ICE coin. but so far they'are looking quite good, they just got listed in OKex. and everyone is happy to receive some free Coins while installing their app on their phone.
but what they did wrong was implementing the KYC requirement.. it was KYC less few days ago. but now started asking it's users to do a Facial verification in order to continue earning.

425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is more profitable? on: January 21, 2024, 11:35:59 AM
Bitcoin is more profitable Coin than any other alt-coins that gives rest of mind, mostly Long term holding and second Solana coin another alt-coins that gives quick profits that anytime Bitcoin price increases it makes a good impact price increase, which is good to buy at dip while wait for some period of time and it always occur, Solana coin is good as that with a very high risk of profits, because the entry point matters.
Which coin is more profitable it totally depends on how we work around them. Trading altcoins is way more profitable than HODLIng bitcoin. and Trading Bitcoin is more profitable than trading altcoin. so at the end of the day. it all depends on what way you using to make profit. Trading or HOLDING.
Advantage of Using Altcoin along with Bitcoin is that we'll have many options. Sticking up with just one Coin like Bitcoin or Solana can be good. but trading multiple coins increase the chances of earining profit if someone know how to trade. but if someone is not familiar with trading then he better stick up with Bitcoin because then he'll end up loosing everything if he tray to trade.
426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: January 21, 2024, 11:12:05 AM
Tether is Good as long as you don't use it for anything wrong. A lot of people might not know that. but Tether can freeze USDT in any wallet they want. that is a kind of thing I don't like.  but so far it was only used to stop hackers, and it actually helped a lot of times. a lot of hacked funds were frozen by tether like that.

Well I am wondering why this is going to happen. The country of Russia now will use it for cross boarder payments.

The payment platform is called Exved also does support the ruble and US dollars. And it will allow Russian businesses to do international transactions using tether.

https://www.cryptotimes.io/russia-integrates-tether-for-cross-border-payments/
So what is wrong in this? If United states and whole world bycott russia frome verywhere then russia had to take a step like that to protetc it's economy and businesss. I am not a supporter of everything Russia doing with Ukraine, But they had to go somewhere to solve their proble so they chose to solve that like this.
I think it is a good move for USDT and Cryptocurrency in generally. it'll grow mass adoption of Cryptocurrency by a lot.

427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Launchpool, a possible earning opportunity? on: January 21, 2024, 10:35:58 AM
It is like Staking your Coins anywhere else with low APY. maybe people with large capital really earn good profit from binance launchpool but if you stake only $200 or little bit less or more than you could only earn Around $2 per launchpool round. which is not a good amount.
The only Good thing about Binance launchpool is there is not any risk of losing money because you'll get your funds back in your  account when launchpool end.

(...)

What are your thoughts? Have you ever tried it before, and if yes, do you believe it's worth a try?
For me, it's good. The only difficult here is you use a non-stablecoin asset during launch pool. Because you could lose its value over time just to be able to get the new coins and sometimes it's not worth it or you will lose more.
Another thing is after the launch pool or during, for me it's better to take profits like sell some of new tokens you got from launchpool, it's good to take profits.
You can stake stablecoins in launchpool. most of the launchpools allow staking FDUSD and TUSDT stablecoins.  and you can't take and sell the tokens earned during launchpool. because binance launchpool only add new projects. tokens are listed when launchpool completely ended.

429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will USTC hit 1$ again and be a stable coin ? on: January 21, 2024, 09:57:43 AM
It won’t go to $1 because unlike tether and USDC you can’t actually cash out your USTC for $1 of real US dollars. So there is no reason to maintain the peg.

I remember many warned people not to use that stablecoin since it being backed by bitcoin is crazy since it’s very volatile. Nobody listened until it actually came crashing down and everyone lost everything they had in the stablecoin.
I don't think it was crashed just because it was backed by Bitcoin and not by Real US dollars like USDT and USDC. In fact it was not backed by Bitcoin at all.  the reason for the crash was something else. USTC was pegged to 1 USD via an algorithm of burning and minting mechnisim. that was the reason it got depped. because people withdraw a lot of ustc so the system kept minting more and more and the supply extreamly got overpopulated that caused the USTC to loose it's peg.
This Medium Article Explains a lot about USTC:

430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: PEPE time to buy NOW? on: January 21, 2024, 09:45:35 AM
I think it’s looking like a probable pump & dump. I don’t think it has a big future, .
What else did you expect then from a memecoin? or you missed the part of it being a memecoin? It is obvious that it's nothing but a pump and dump. $PEPE is a memecoin. and everyone knows that meme coins don't have any use case or any future.
Its going to be a year long when you made this post. and now at today's rate PEPE still 70% lower than it's all time High.
I don't know how many more years it'll take to reach to that point. and it is also possible that it'll completely die before reaching to there. I hope you didn't invest a lot of money in it.
431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where to invest 7k usdt on: January 21, 2024, 09:28:22 AM
Where to invest 7k usdt

To get profit daily 30$
With that amount allocated for trading $30 profit daily is very easy even in Spot markets just snipe some tokens that has a potential to move upward then sell at high always do the buy low sell high method, you can select coins that has either good news or down for atleast some days and wait for reversal.
Bro this method can drastically go wrong too, if it is done by a newbie who have zero knowledge about Trading. I would not advice any new commer in crypto to start trading right away.
Trading is a Good way to earn money in Crypto but it is important to be aware of its risks and hassles.
maybe OP can take some time to educate himself about Crypto and Learn some Trading technics, then he could start trading, or maybe he do some research and find a good trading signal provider with good accuracy then it would be good.
With a capital of $7k usdt. $30 is very easy through trading. I would say even $100 daily is possible. but then the risks and all.............
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Nakamoto remove the 21 million BTC limit? on: January 21, 2024, 07:56:24 AM
Speaking in Davos on Wednesday, JPMorgan CEO and also a well-known bitcoin critic Jamie Dimon made a suggestion that Satoshi Nakamoto might lift the limit on the number of bitcoins, which as we know is 21 million BTC. How would you comment on such a statement?
I would comment by saying Jamie Dimon does not know what he is talking about.  Bitcoin is not J P Morgan.  Bitcoin is DE Centralized.  It is Trust LESS.

Satoshi created Bitcoin and let it run in the wild.  He has no more power of governance over it, ever since Bitcoin became public.  There is no 'access key' to inner workings of Bitcoin and every body pretty much knows that after a five minute serious read on this topic.

The only way this can happen is through a Hard Fork.  I doubt every body is dumb enough to accept such a significant change which has an obvious and very strong negative impact on Bitcoin.
you are absolutely right about that. and a lot of shitty Bitcoin forks are alraedy there to prove that. I think Jamie just want to inflate Bitcoin like Fiat so he can own more and more, he think he can be wealthier like that.
Thankfully Bitcoin community have sensible people who wouldn't let that happen.

How dumb the crypto community is becoming to give someone with no knowledge of basics as critique of cryptocurrency. Smiley

If Satoshi came and hard fork to bring more coins off a new branch it will be just another coin not just bitcoin and people won't use that coin but why Satoshi will do that? Roll Eyes
no one give anyone rights of becoming critique of cryptocurrency. it's everyone's personal choice and decidions to become a critique. now it is upto the community to listen and believe that person or not. and we can clearly see that no one taking Jamie seriously here in this community and I am pretty sure no one would take him seriously anywhere else outside of this forum.
So don't worry about whatever he says because we can't shut anyone off..
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin an opportunity like land on: January 21, 2024, 07:05:12 AM
but when it comes to Bitcoin we have stuffs like staking wherein we will still have our Bitcoin and still earn extra profits through staking.
Bitcoin is not a POS coin. there is no way to stake Bitcoin and earn profit from it as per my current knowledge.  maybe you know something that I know. then would love to know that too.
We can convert our Bitcoins to other Stakable Atlcoins and stake them to earn rewards.

In my country, there's no housing crisis because the population has been decreasing for a few decades, so expecting even a house or a flat to rise in price (above inflation rate) isn't very realistic, let alone just a piece of land that doesn't have anything on it. Okay, looking at some data, it does seem that there's some growth in price (10% over a year, it seems), but the land market is very new in my country (it has existed for less than 2 years), and there's no completely reliable and trustworthy data.
Another thing is that my country's at war with another country, so the land you buy might get occupied by a foreign power or might be destroyed by military equipment and weapons. That also makes Bitcoin a lot more attractive, as it is digital.

Is that Ukraine you talking about? that's the only country coming in my mind when yousay War with another county. But how come the land market in Ukraine is only 2 years old? you sound like Ukraine was founded in 2 years ago. but in fact Ukrain has been there for around 31 years. then how come real estate business is only 2 years old there?
434  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Used Crypto Seeds - Protect Yourself From $5 wrench attack on: January 21, 2024, 06:51:00 AM
Snip....
I don't think there is any point in using used wallets. because crminals don't care about blockchain's history, they see wallets for current money. but I wonder What benefits would you get for doing this? are you planning to charge a service fee from anyone who using these wallets?

I don't think the criminal is paying attention with how active the address is instead of the total coins you've trade and your current balance.

Private Keys

38717b5161c2e817020a0933e1836dd0127bdef59732d77daca20ccfbf61a7ae

The public key of this private key is 1MjGyKiRLzq4WeuJKyFZMmkjAv7rH1TABm where the balance is 0 and received 131 BTC. If I were the criminal, I will force the person tell me where's the 131 BTC and if I didn't get it, I will be mad.

It's better to use passphrase where the first wallet without passphrase is your dummy wallet that contains small amount of Bitcoin e.g. less than $100. While the other wallet that has passphrase contains most of your coins.

https://vault12.com/securemycrypto/crypto-security-basics/what-is-a-wallet-passphrase/
This is very useful mate.. I didn't know about that before. I will really use that tip if I ever had too much Bitcoins to protect. is there any method like that for EVM (web3 wallets) i know we can create multiple wallets in any web3 wallet, but don't know if we can add passphrase to them or not.

436  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I become a professional trader? on: January 20, 2024, 06:38:25 PM
If you are new to the crypto industry start by holding and when you realize now you can make trades then start from the little amount you are willing to lose and easily can bear it. If luck goes in your favour you can earn as well from your trades.

One shouldn't depend on their luck when it comes to trading because trading is not like gambling where you make a bet and wait for the outcome while praying that you win the bet. Trading requires knowledge and experience, knowledge is supposed to be gained and collected, and experience will come by the time you learn everything while watching others trade, making small trades yourself, or even using demo accounts to practice what you have learned so far.

So, a person who enters a financial market as a beginner must focus on gaining as much knowledge as possible at the initial stage instead of thinking of earning money as soon as they enter the market because this rush can cause financial loss since you don't know what you are doing which means you wouldn't be able to do it properly.
437  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How diverse is your crypto portfolio? on: January 20, 2024, 06:07:10 PM
if you are thinking of diversifying your portfolio and have a good amount to invest in crypto currency. So, in my opinion, you should invest 90% of your amount in bitcoin and the remaining 10% you should invest in Altcoin. Bitcoin has less risk on your investment and altcoins have high risk on you investment that why suggesting to invest big cap in bitcoin and less cap in altcoin

while investing in altcoins try to diversify you remaining 10% in different altcoins because if one will not perfome well anothe rwill perfome well and retun you a good amount of profit. DYOR
Though it's understandable that most part of your capital should be invested in Bitcoin, I don't think one should have all their capital engaged because the cryptocurrency market is highly volatile and unpredictable and you can't expect the market to always rise and never go down. So, I believe one should always have some part of their capital in liquid assets so that they can in case they see an opportunity in the market, they can buy certain cryptocurrencies with it.

That's why, I think one should have at least 60% of their capital in Bitcoin, 20% in altcoins being spread in multiple altcoins from the top and trusted ones, and 20% should be kept in liquid assets such as USDT and other stablecoins that can be used to buy either Bitcoin or altcoins when there are better opportunities.
438  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Nakamoto remove the 21 million BTC limit? on: January 20, 2024, 05:49:36 PM

Referring to the limited supply of Bitcoin, which is to mirror the properties of gold, Dimon said he doubted the finality of the 21 million Bitcoin supply maximum, saying: "I think there's a good chance, when we get to that 20 million bitcoins...Satashi [sic] is going to come on there, laugh hysterically, go quiet, and all Bitcoins [are] going to be erased. How the hell [do] you know it’s going to stop at 21?"
I would say they are making no sense with their remarks. First off, Satoshi is not coming back, and even if he did, he wouldn't come back and spoil what his creation has achieved so far by removing the limit on the supply and increasing it which would affect the value of the coin significantly, of course. Secondly, the whole cryptocurrency industry will start having doubts and lose trust in Bitcoin if something like that happens, I can't even think about it theoretically.

Satoshi created Bitcoin as a decentralized cryptocurrency that would be running on a public chain that would be controlled by miners who would use their computing power to mine blocks. He can't just come out of nowhere and make changes in the network when all the miners have been helping the blockchain work since the beginning.
439  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wrong perspective towards Bitcoin investment on: January 20, 2024, 05:40:22 PM
The issue of getting rich quick isn't something that many adopters take seriously, as they've come to believe it is the only way to make a quick profit. It still saddens me to see that some adopters in our community have taken the wrong step towards Bitcoin investment.

I recently stumbled upon a guy few days back who happens to be a anti-bitcoinist. He showed his frustration and condemned Bitcoin in a way that got my attention. I was eager to know why someone would have hatred for a life changing opportunity like Bitcoin, so I had to ask.

From his reply, he said he came across a Bitcoin mining website that was shared via a YouTube video. The mining site mines Bitcoin in small quantities, which he decided to buy some mining power to accumulate faster. He successfully purchased one of the mining power worth $80, but the site eventually shut down a week later without allowing any withdrawals.

His reply got me laughing because I quickly pointed out two things from what he said:
1. He was eager to get quick profit from an $80 investment but ended up getting scammed.
2. During my early days in crypto, I often came across these demo-like websites and have also fallen victim.

It was very clear to me that some ethusiast who promote Bitcoin don't talk about the risk part of it, while those who adopt Bitcoin on their own don't learn about the risk part of it.

I couldn't just leave him hanging with that mentality towards Bitcoin. I showed him some love by converting $10 worth of Bitcoin from my personal funds, sending it to him, and also sent him the BTT link so he can learn from a large Bitcoin community. I have done my part, and I repeat: there is no such thing as getting rich quick. I am glad he has joined the community, but wouldn't want to be mentioned.

Thanks for reading, and do well to share your opinion.
People like him often get victimized by such scam services and websites and then start abusing the industry or Bitcoin for being bad or a scam, etc. To be honest, I don't blame them for getting scammed because they don't have enough knowledge but then we can blame them for not trying to gain enough knowledge before getting into investments. I don't understand how a person can invest their hard-earned money somewhere without doing proper research and finding out whether the service is genuine.

When I first learned about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, there were a lot of scams and HYIP websites around the industry, and since it was new, a lot of people used to become victims of them, most of them used to be Bitcoin doublers, etc. So, it's all about knowledge and experience, when you join a financial market without experience, you should at least try to gain enough knowledge to survive.
