hi all ...

i am in transition from state to state - about 2500kms between the two points - in order for me to move permanently from adelaide south australia to the gold coast in queensland australia ...

this means i will be offline for a few days at a time until i settle back in to the new premises ...

this should take no more than two weeks and as such - will also mean during the transition - will be a tumultuous time ... hence the lack of communication here ...

but this does not mean things are not progressing with all that is happening in the backend ...

my full time contract currently takes the workday - but in the evenings ( and some weekends ) i am still available here - alongside the dedicated team members that are working towards a strong and united cwi ...

a word of note - currently bleutrade is offline and apparently has been for the last 48hours ...

please trade and continue to trade granite ( grn ) on cryptopia - as we have a growing cryptopian community following ...

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=GRN_BTC ...

we will see what happens with bleutrade - and will keep you posted ...

hi all ...

we will be looking for more optimized miner for amd shortly - as we will be putting farmamd back on line in the coming months ...

anyone interested in working alongside cwi - especially as an inhouse private dev - let me know ...

this is NOT specifically for amd - but nvidia also ...

im finalizing packing and a full interstate move in the next week - so will be looking at any prospectives in the next two weeks ...

hi all ...

there seems to be an issue with the aws server that has the gb pool ...

contact with aws has been initiated - and we are waiting till they get back to us with a report or a reset of the vps that it sits on ...

we will have the pool up and running as soon as they resolve the issues ...

apologies for the delay ...

A coin swap sounds good to I reakon 5 GRNS to 1 OZC  Roll Eyes

The idea would cost a mobile app, yeah so there is a definite cost, whether or not it could be offset by advertising on the give away page or not I am not sure,

Vendors would generally jump at a new way to get revenue and bums on seats, you could advertise in industry mags paying them in ozc and the coins they make can be spent on freelance market,  it is kind of a barter system in it's essence. but trading goods for labour.

to get vendors on board without having to pay someone to go physically do it could be a reward system say you get 5000 ozc if you manage to talk a local business into joining, and they leave a code you gave them upon signing on.

Fair enough on slack, it needs to be busy to make it worth it.

CWI is looking the goods, I think it's exciting no matter what way it goes.

I also have another idea, but it is super secret, not posting on the thread, as no-one has done it yet.
But Australia is a perfect test case
  Wink

I will be up in QLD in sept, will have to see if your about, hammer some frozen daiquiris at conrads

some fair ideas there mate ...

but 5grn to 1ozc? ... stop drinking too much mate - its getting to your senses ... hehehe ...

i guess vendors always want something for nothing - but rarely every happens ... and when some actually do - they take it for granted that its free and carelessly abuse the system ... its been proven many times over - that if you actually get to PAY for an item - then you value it more than for free ...

but you do make some very good points - which can be discussed later ... though your secret ideas wont be - of course Smiley ...

i have only just closed the lease for a new place here - and moving a few things in for survival for the time being - tomorrow ...

next week - i fly back to adelaide - finish the packing my partner has been doing with the family - then driving the almost 2500km up to qld permanently ... this will start on the 1st september - and we will be back in qld on the 9th ( if the drive goes well ) ... we are moving permanently here - and will be settign up soon ... so in the coming weeks - will be settling a little better also ...

ill never airbnb here again - what a bloody tortutous painful 4weeks it has been ...

its gold coats holiday today and tonight - so no work - but signed lease and got the keys to the place for the next 12months ... fireworks going on outside - which i absolutely adore - but have no time as i want out of the bumhole of a place as soon as i can tomorrow morning to my own PEACEFUL and QUIET and PRIVATE pnew place ... oh the PRIVACY once again ... and the peaceful SLEEP i havent had for four long agonizing weeks ...

have i complained enough about this place yet? ... last night - then never look at it again ... airbnb my ass ...

BUT ... if the gold coast is where you will be later - i dont drink smoke or do any drugs - but ill be happy to share a bottle of coke or v with whatever you are drinking mate Smiley ...

cwi has been moving along nicely also - and im hoping that by the end of the year - we will be in full working order - gears in motion ...

ozziecoin has some workings in the mill at the moment - but granite is the flagship for cwi - and is being redeveloped first ... as mentioned - im in two minds yet as to what will happen with ozc - whether work alongside - or assimilated by - granite ... but for the time being - ozc is the experimental project - which will have all the exciting prototype features we want to mess with and use ... so it will be the one that gets the development ( stable ) last - but the first to test ...

thefarm is having a nice time with the stability testing of the new miner also ... very good progress so far ...

Thank you very much crysx. I'll keep working on it Smiley

being a java based project - it 'should' work well on all java enabled systems - so i will be testing this project on my linux distributions ...

currently - i work on fedora 23 x64 - fedora 24 x64 - centos 7 x64 - scientific linux 6.5 x64 ...

fedora will be the main working os currently - but as a stats tracker - it would be much more preferable to base it on a server system that will be focussed on stats only - which i have already built on centos 7 x64 ...

an api designed for this would be very important in such a case - but is always something that can be looked at later if it is something that you think would be a usable part of the system ...

Block Explorer?

It is not so expensive to host a cryptoid block explorer. I dont know why one is not up.
I want to know how many coins there are. Can you do a "getinfo" in your wallet console, to determine money supply?

there will be a stats page on our forthcoming cwi website for mtr - as its one of the coins we have backed / supported for a while now alongside rich ...

support will be maintained as well as the seed nodes - which will be placed in revamped systems very shortly ...

To point out the obvious, sometimes crap happens and a pool or a coin will get sidetracked onto a different blockchain.  The people that attempt to take advantage of this deserve what they get.  Nothing.  When all is said and done, Zpool and its operator did what he had to do to prevent more damage to his pool and miners using it.  In no way is he responsible to pay you out for the coins you thought you were mining at a ridiculous profit.  I myself did notice x11 jump to the top of the pool and immediately disabled it because it was well out of a normal mining rotation for me.  I don't expect Crackfoo to pay me for the blocks I mined on the wrong block chain, nor should you expect him to.  If you notice something acting weird it is your responsibility to report it, which people did, and he took action.  We are a pool community and need to look out for each other, not try and take advantage of each other.

well said ...

crysx, of course i know zpool, and i could handle the subject when needed,
i'm talking about recently, after zpool removed ozc, smth else behaves the similar way

so you are saying that the same behavior is shown - even when there is no major hash being intermittently sent to grn and ozc? ...

Hey Crysx

Do you have a CWI slack page? I see how OZC main idea was to give out free ones to all Aussies, I think that is still possible, I will just brain dump

So have a website where anyone in Aus can log on and put in a claim for 500 free OZC The site could have a bunch of advertising on it to pay for itself

They can them spend it at any hospitality establishment involved (second biggest industry)

So they will be able to buy a beer or something with it essentially for free.
It's not financialised until the business who received the OZC decides what to do either send them to a partnered exchange to sell

Or you create a freelance market whereas say a graphic designer can do up some promos for a pub for OZC
so the pub has promos for beer and the designer has beer money.

And of course being Straya everyone is happy with that.

I know this industry in Aus very well and there are new companies all the time trying to get restaurants on board for incentive promos and the like, Entertainer book, about 10 different apps and websites. you have to pay to be in and give big discounts to people coming in, you often make no money on the effort.

For the establishment it's all about getting people in the door, even if it costs them a 20% discount, I say do away with that and give them something that doesn't cost the establishment at all. they just have to agree to be onboard. they may even see the value and offer specials to get more OZC's in the door.

I imagine it could all be run by an app. And a sales rep I suppose.

hi thoth ...

as usual - you are full of ideas ... and good ones at that ...

firstly - no we do not have a slack channel ...

slack is a commercialized version of irc - and even though it works well - there had been no real interest in it when we opened the granite one ... so the reluctance to open another channel that will sit there and do nothing ( but still try and maintain it ) was not a favourable thing - especially for me now that im in queensland working more hours than i care to admit and cannot afford the eefort involved in maintaining anothe channel ... but it has been looked at - and may be again in the future IF the devs are in agreement ...

we looked at a number of things along those lines - but it all came down to some cost of some sort ... which is a fair thing - but the cost is usually on the shoulders of cwi and predominantly on my own ...

though your approach is a little better construed - yet i am a little confused about how to attract the vendors in the first place ...

there is some work with an exchange that is happening behind the scenes - but i have said nothing ( until now of course ) about it due to having absolutely no concrete deal with what may be happening with it - and whether it will surface or not ... i DO know that the dev that is building it - is a VERY reliable and honest one and is always true to his word and work ... but there is no definite word on what will happen to its construction or its work - let alone its completion ...

hence why the build of the cwi site - and all its modules ( especially theshop ) are the focus for the time being ... as wll as the flagship project ( granite ) ...

the idea has been toyed with - where we have a swap of ozc for grn - and ozc is assimilated into the cwi ecosystem in that way ... but the idea is only toyed with - and conversations of such things will take place in the cwi thread ...

at cwi - we are still three in 'theteam' ... but we have a few others that have devoted a great deal of time and development to cwi for the betterment of a few modules ... one main one being thefarm ... but more on that also in the cwi thread - and later when i have confirmed all that has been done ...

i may even get a personal mobile number - so that i am personally contactable by the devs worldwide and in australia ... but that again - is an idea and not something i have committed to as yet ...

433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [0.9.1] Ozziecoin - Australia's first widely distributed digital coin on: August 23, 2016, 01:36:46 AM
what's the bloody pool or miner regularly pushing diff up and chain to a halt ?
so every time when i'm about to send a few coins i have to mine that shit

hi desynct,

this was due to the massive hashrate hits that zpool ( mainly ) would push through its stratums at both granite and ozziecoin ...

this in turn drove the diff to record levels - then the hashrtae was moved elsewhere - and it was up to the 'regular' or 'smaller' miners to process the next block at a massive diff with a much smaller hashrate ...

this is NOT the fault of zpool - its just the way zpool works - as does most multicoin pools do ...

when i asked crackfoo / crackers to temporarily remove granite and ozziecoin from the mining list - he did so promptly and professionally - as a professional dev would ...

for the time being - they are still not back onto zpool - and we have been testing ( successfully i might add ) our own mpos pools that you can mine with ...

http://mpos.granitecoin.com/ ... which will all change to http://mpos.chainworksindustries.com/ ( which is NOT open yet - so it will bomb out if you click the link ) when all the components of cwi are finished and ready for public consumption ...

i have still placed the pools in alpha mode - but dont let that put you off as they are more than ready for public mining ... it is just a time factor now to sit down and change everything over to beta as the next stage for the addition of the high diff stratums are implemented for testing on each of the pools ...

alpha - initial testing and lodiff stratum active ...
beta - intensive testing and hidiff stratum active ...
production - full public open ...

for the moment - the only two full production pools that we have is the original granite pool ( http://grn-pool.granitecoin.com/ ) which still has bonuses and rewards for mining built in with no fee - BUT - will be closed very shortly for the official mpos pools on different servers and isp ( in preparation for our 'other' module we have been working on at cwi ) ... and goldblocks pool ( http://goldblocks.granitecoin.com/ ) which the goldblocks dev made the official pool for gb - and has fully functional lodiff and hidiff stratum mining active ...

with the smaller hashrates that granite and ozziecoin have been getting though - to go with a goliath like zpool - will mean that we will have the SAME issues with diff being skyrocketed ... until of course we have gigahashes of miners - then it becomes a very different animal altogether ...

in any case - that was many weeks ago - and the hashrate has settled in and around a few hundred megahashes - so the current diffs that you see for both granite and ozziecoin - should be around what the network is actually doing ...

let us know if you still have these issues ... or any others for that matter ...

hehehe - hell no ...

i have a great deal of respect for both you - and the work you put into the community called zpool ...

if i were grammatically incompetent as this guy - i would probably shoot myself in the leg and call it a day ... tho he did try - and i do ( purposely ) misspell words ...

i have nothing to do with either the review page - or the comment ( people call THAT a review? ) that was left ...

besides - i ALWAYS post as chrysophylax ( or chrysophylax69 if i couldnt get the original name ) - and only as crysx here due to the kerfuffle with my original profile 'chrysophylax' ...

soon - all posts will be done through ( and with ) chainworks industries ( cwi ) ... ALL posts ...

no - you have been a good dev and a good pool for the granite and ozziecoin communities - and when i asked for removal due to the high hashrates zpool has ( driving diff skywards ) - you responded with speed and the respect i expected from you as a quality dev ...

if there was a way to track people like this - there would much much MUCH less scam posts - and scam people in this community ...

I am not on here as often as i like now - due to work commitments - but will always check in ...

btw - thefarm STILL uses zpool as a primary pool to mine with ...

Yeah, 30 minute blocks are long.. that's forever when you're sending to an exchange to trade. I would hate to wait for the confirms as well. I thought this was too detrimental to the coin so I opted to stay out of this one.

30min is a huge amount of time ...

reduce to a 'bearable' level - and there will be a more active level of users on the coin ...

this means that if we were to transfer ONE coin to ANY wallet ( especially exchanges as mis069 mentioned ) - then it would take a few hours to be able to get the coins traded ...

ill watch ...

438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: August 13, 2016, 08:30:25 AM
OC  I'm unable to connect to your pool.

You do know that pools get to see the private keys of the blocks you mine, as do others? That's one of the reasons this coin has a pool dissuasion feature that people like which helps to promote solo mining and decentralisation.

Feel free to use pools, just thought you might not have picked up that risk from the mining white paper in the OP.

i dont think so with ocminers pool ...

which is the reason you require HIS miners - and not the opensourced ones we used from spmod and others ...

the private i mined at many moons ago - is exactly how that was - which is why it was private ... it was based on a trust level - i trusted the pool owner not to steal my mined coins - and it worked better than average and so much better than solo ... but agreed - with THAT pool - the private key was shared ... which is also why you cant use other miners on ocminers pool ...

im sure oc miner can shed more light on how he made his miner work with stratum pool ...

#crysx

Ah that myth is still around ? That people can see the public keys and "steal" the blocks etc Smiley

Funny

I think I've posted it 4-5 times in this thread already, I should really bookmark the post, but here, once again:

1) Full communication between pool and miner(s) is https encrypted on the spr pool - so no one can see anything

2) I'm using signed miners, you cannot use the regular ones, thats why they're linked on the getting started page.

3) Every round has their own private key and as soon as the block is found the coins are moved into a separate wallet so even if you would "crack" the https encryption and get to know the actual private key you could only steal the reward of this one block (and you would get automatically flagged/banned on the pool).

There are some extra features implemented in stratum which I don't want to post in public here but, just look at the stats, rest assured, the pool is working and paying fine Smiley

Oh and you might want to check if you find pools on the block explorer... You won't.. even though there is at least my public one, this is simply because every found block is paid to a new address... So you also won't see the other pools Wink

tanx mate ...

i knew it was something along those lines ...

and btw - i still need the git for compiling the nvidia miner ( and amd miner when i get farmamd back up also ) ...

the compiled versions you have require the same gcc and cuda files that it was originally compiled with ...

i know i have asked a milion times - and sound like im harping ... but until that happens with me - thefarm and farmamd will always mine solo using other miners ...

i would build my own private pool - for friends as well ... and it would not be as secure as yours is - which is why it would be private only ... but i dont know how Tongue ...

why not take a percentage for the pool for yourself - and make it easy to compile my own miners? ... the code goes no where else anyway but to thefarm ...

tanx for clarifying again though ...

hi all ...

a note to inform the community that the new granite wallet will be released very shortly ...

testing has conclusively proven that the backend code has been improved and reliable - and will be updated to github very soon ...

they are mainly technical changes - and mainly to prepare the codebase for a complete change ...

the windows and osx wallets will be prepared soon - and the links will be posted here when they are ready ...

the major change in this wallet version is the location of the wallet files - as the codebase has been changed to the standard naming convention .of 'granite' and lowercase ...

which also means that the wallet location will change from .GraniteCoin to .granite ...

this will be an easy conversion - and steps to do so will accompany the release of the wallet ... as will details of the other changes to this version of granite ...

the release will happen within the next week ...

and LOTS more coming in the near future ... especially the full rebase of granite on the new code - which we have decided will more than likely be based on the new dash code - with prepararions for some of our changes to boot ...

the new cwi website will begin in the following week also ... we have been very busy preparing all the backend - for the web designer to create the front end to ...

ozziecoin is a part of cwi now - and will be part of the development process also - whether it is separate from - or assimilated into - the granite and cwi network ... those holders of ozziecoin WILL benefit eitherway by further development or exchange to grn ... but this will take some time to get moving ...

so if you are mining and holding or trading - it benefit all of us when the time comes to make a decision as to which way we will move with this ...

tanx ...
