I recomended to invest in ethereum to taking short profit in trading altcoins, the fluctuation of price is nice to getting profit

But if you want take long profit the stable price of altcoins is ETC and the value of ETC will be going up

Actually there are no place to buy ethereum in cheap price because around the world know about ethereum's price
you can buy ethereum on poloniex.com on lowest price, because the poloniex has fluctuating price of ethereum

many altcoins be supported by jaxx.io except bitcoins,

but there is problem with on ethereum network and almost all of people doesn't care about smart contract
