Few questions to TaaS team:
1. ICO structure:
-- Why do you set a fixed price to your token at $1? Why not $0.50 or $10?
Wouldn't it make more sense to have a fixed number of tokens, and let the ICO participants set the initial price (total funds raised/number of tokens)?
-- Why you decided to have a bonus structure based on total amount of funds collected and not based on time? It looks "pumpy", like those power hour bonuses. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a weekly based bonus decrease?
2. This Cryptographic Audit sounds a lot buzz words and nothing much. Please explain how it is more based on the following:
-Proof of Reserves - everybody is using the same exchanges, nothing "cryptographic" here
-Auditable Exchange accounts - good idea, how does a view-only API key fits into this bombastic buzz phrase "Cryptographic Audit"?
-Proof of reserve - basically you will provide the public address of the crypto asset, so people can view the balance and transactions? Is there more than that in this "Cryptographic Audit" feature?
3. If I understood correctly, the smart contract will hold the funds, is that correct? If so, it is a BIG BIG BIG NO GO. We had The DAO fiasco, and smart contract holding and managing funds is still couple of years ahead.
If you think you can put all the honey in one pot and be smarter than the entire community - well, good luck. I can't see how investors will keep their funds in a smart contract.

Trezor is the only hardware wallet with 100% open-source code.

Ledger Wallet is also integrated with MyEtherWallet and has been for ages. He was referring to the fact that trezor is open source.. I still don't see how it is better, since you can't really test the code, and you still need to trust the HW manufacture |

Hi - I am invested in Iconomi in the initial crowdsale but I didn't realise there were dividends until now.
Can you tell me who is elligible to receive these (is there a threshold investment?) and how / when are they paid out?

All holders of more than 42 ICN will receive dividends that should be 100% of all fees gathered by the OFM platform and 20% of profits gained from the ICNX and ICNP funds. These numbers may vary and are not yet set in stone. They will be paid out as ICONOMI gathers fees and profits, which may be several months away. God, I love that movie. It left me so pumped that I went back and saw it again on the very next night when it came out almost 30 years ago. If you've never seen it, what are you waiting for? all fees gathered by the OFM platform and 20% of profits gained from the ICNX and ICNP funds 20% is the estimated profits share from ICNP only. ICNX will generate 3% annual fees from total funds in the fund, regardless of the performance. ICNX will also charge 0.1% entry and exit fees. As far as I remember Jani said on slack that ICNX fees will be calculated every 6 hours. |

What is the explanation for going to the conference in the USA if the platform can't be used there? ICN can still be bought there so maybe they think it is still worth it? Or maybe just for the exposure in general?

Guys, can you relax with that Feb 9th hype?
The only thing that Jani committed to is platform release in Q1 2017.
That conference in Florida can be big and can mean just PR and meeting potential investors. The more I think about it, less likely it seems that they will announce there, 2 reasons:
1. Beta testing should come before platform access, and I don't think beta cycle will be 1 week.
2. USA citizens are not allowed to use the platform services for now (meaning they are not allowed to buy ICNX). So why announce it in the USA?
I got the feeling we're gonna shake out few more weak hands on the 9th..

To those who still think that February 9th is going to be disappointing and that they aren't going to announce a launch date think about this. Why would the team go to Florida to announce a minor update? Something that they could easily post on the slack page. At this conference they are going to show us a working version of the platform. If you think I am wrong think of big video game conferences like E3. You don't see video game developers like EA come with nothing.. they have a version of the platform to increase interest about their upcoming games. Now I am not saying that they will release the platform on the 9th, however, I think we will get to see our first look at it, thus increasing interest in Iconomi.
The problem with this theory is that EA has a set agenda at E3. We know what EA is bringing to the table. We don't know what Iconomi is. Yes there is a new launch date. According to Tim (CEO of iconomi Team) - the new AND FINAL release date of the platform will be on 1/09/2017. So basically you can keep being calm and relaxed , no need to rush \ FOMO and so on. Given the capped supply of ICN at 100m tokens, they had to come up with a solution to give investors in their inner circle a low enty in ICN.
So they went on radio silence for past 30 days on purpose so the price dips down a little, so investors in their inner circle find a low entry in ICN.
We advise you to hold tight to your hard earned ICN and await the imminent launch announcement.
I can confirm this is accurate. Why else would they be quiet so much? They're fucking with the price, just as they did for December 28th "launch". One of the team has already confirmed (on Slack) that they've been buying ICN from the market. You'd be naive to think they're not timing their buys/sells with events such as the launch delay. Same old shady crypto  Put your ethics aside though! This means something is coming to boost the price! They're not dumb enough to cause another massive dump now. God bless those sly little jews. How much reliable is this/your source? I have seen that the iconomi team has become silence for a long time. What? Percent ICN invested into BTC? What does that even mean? Think he was meaning that the maximum exposure that ICN has to BTC is 15%. The devs somewhere, or I read somewhere, that the maximum percent exposure ICN will have to a single currency is 15%. Now how he goes into calculating the rest of the stuff, I have zero clue... People are crazy to think that ICN will get to $100 by the end of 2017. That would be a yearly return of over 25,000%. I mean I would love to see that gain but let's get realistic.. Why not just sell your ICN and go buy python or pascal whatever the latest pump and dump shit coin is? Why cry about it here? I posted this explanation of ICN in the Ethereum trader blog under my other name " Davyroy" .
If someone has some time, maybe they could read over what I have written - it was a note to allay some concerns about the viability of ICN.
All projects in this space will come under much scrutiny. Iconomi is offering something that many people need. Ease of investment and management in the crypto space. Let me know where I am off on my description.

Appeals to a wide audience - why? Income? No .... appreciation? yes. The ICN token represents the crypto holdings in it portfolio. Different holdings/held in cold storage.
Right now, to be diversified in crypto - you have to be a computer geek to deal with all the different wallets. Not with ICN - its done for you/including a site to store your wallet.
If your just wanting to get some exposure to crypto and have limited time/computer skills - then ICN becomes attractive. IF, a token in its portfolio (BTC for example - sky rockets) ... then ICN will reflect a rising price in terms of FIAT. (How it ultimately performs in terms of BTC or ETH or any other major crypto is not the point). The point is to offer a hedge against fiat in a simple way. - The simple way - is a service to those who can not juggle/spend lots of time and energy.
Nobody knows where crypto is going and who or what might become successful - so, don't get too caught up in the dividend - at least for now. Dividends will come much later - the idea is to give an investor a hedge against the EURO first and foremost. A new gateway - a Simple Simon approach to holding a diversified portfolio that as a whole grows as the technology penetrates the old economy.
Iconomi - is kinda doing this whole thing by the seat of it pants. But, at the same time - it is putting a new product out there and establishing a brand for the next tier of adopters who want in without all the fuss of syncing wallets.
Iconomi is stepping out. Sure, the legal waters are murky - I don't see how ICN as a token is in jeopardy if it is simply a derivative of many tokens.
Its worth a look. Anybody who can point and click can own part of the crypto space.
That is worth something.

I'm sure this has been answered many times already so sorry for the dumb question.
If you live in the USA, you cannot participate in the iconomi.index fund, the iconomi.performance fund, or any funds on the OFM, but you can hold the ICN token- is that correct?
You can do whatever you want, you are free Iconomi funds are currently not offered to USA citizens. No pro OEM holding ICN though. You can still buy, but it is on you. |
