That was for this third fight. He had a rematch clause but the contracted time for it to happen within had elapsed but that was only due to covid so he had to go court to get it overruled. Contracts often have clauses in for things like 'acts of god', wars breaking out or even pandemics. No idea what the terms of this contract were but I think it was fair due to covid which made the fight impossible.
I have now googled for a while but could not find information regarding the current contract - only the part about the distribution of income from the match between boxers is public (the amounts are impressive). In fact, this is a very interesting question, because if this 3rd fight is a continuation of that contract, then by winning it, Wilder will be able to refuse Fury a rematch, and if this is a completely new contract, then Fury, as a belt holder, will be able to demand revenge in case of defeat and we will see the 4th fight. Depending on the outcome of the fight people love to see a rematch if there is a need to do one, all I know is if there's a rematch it's another contract, every fight is another contract but some of its contents are coming out of the previous one, both of their managers are wise people who protect the interest of their respective boxers so I'm sure there's a possibility of a fourth fight if Wilder wins because it doesn't settle it's going to be 1 to 1 between the two fighters. |

There is a "rematch clause" in the contract, which has been activated by Anthony Joshua's team. So Usyk needs to fight him again in the next 6-7 months. There is still some confusion regarding the venue of the fight. Usyk's team want the fight to take place in Kiev, Ukraine. But Joshua's promoter (Eddie Hearn) has rejected that suggestion. IMO, Kiev sounds good. Joshua had the home advantage in first fight, which took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Let Usyk have it next time. Why always the fight needs to be arranged as per Joshua's terms?

Eddie Hearn immediately came up with some stupid excuse, and claimed that AJ was almost blinded due to the injury to the eye socket. Usyk was simply the better boxer, and his victory was so clean. AJ had the home advantage, but it was of no use. And although AJ's team is now asking for a rematch, I think the next bout for Usyk may be against Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder. AJ now needs to prove himself.

While Ryota Murata is a decent fighter on his own merit, I don't think there will be much contest when he's matched against Golovkin. Not to disrespect Murata or anything, but I think his experience isn't enough to outclass and outmatch Golovkin's tenure on the ring. Still, this could be a fight that we're waiting to watch. A refresher, I must say, as we will see a relatively-new fighter square it off against an experienced warrior in the ring. It's exciting to see how Murata will handle himself against the likes of GGG.
