From Block 600 put in your guess.  Please make sure it's not taken already, if it is you will be given closest to pick open at time I fix it(Unless you catch it first and correct it yourself).  Upon block to 1200 the period for picks is over and no more will be accepted.

Newbie accounts will be closely monitored.  If it seems anyone is trying to game the system with low level accounts the right is reserved to restrict to higher level, and remove ones that seem suspicious. Hopefully this will not be needed.

All speculation is welcome it is meant to be a fun thread.  Please keep it fun and civil Smiley.  And good luck to all!

Previous Difficulty Thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1244195.0

I will be helping with this one and trying to organize picks once open.  Philipma still has ultimate say.

Going to keep the changes from previous difficulty thread as they seem to work no need to change them again:

Pick times are block 600 to block 1200
Ranges picked are .10% ranges for example:

so  -0   gives you 0 to  -0.9
and +0 gives you 0 to +0.9

Once picks open at block 600 feel free to pick as high or low as you want:

-2.5  =
-2.4  =
-2.3  =
-2.2  =
-2.1  =
-2.0  =        -2.00 to -2.09
-1.9  =        -1.90 to -1.99
-1.8  =        -1.80 to -1.89
-1.7  =        -1.70 to -1.79
-1.6  =        -1.60 to -1.69
-1.5  =        -1.50 to -1.59
-1.4  =        -1.40 to -1.49
-1.3  =        -1.30 to -1.39
-1.2  =        -1.20 to -1.29
-1.1  =        -1.10 to -1.19>>>>>>>>>> philipma1957
-1.0  =        -1.00 to -109

Sure! I will get one going for this adjustment and watch over it.
4205  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Anyone still Running A1 miners? on: November 24, 2015, 02:55:03 AM
I ran a Dragon 1T and later a Dragon 1.5T.   I eventually sold them off to lower priced electricity people.  They were tanks for the most part, besides PSU's on some of LKETC some crapped out.

I did not think I would ever sell my 1.5T it was like high 40 pounds is i remember right.  But I actually sold it and was able to ship for decent just was a little slower mail due to weight.

Both were great miners for me.  I'm hoping Innsilicone has some A3's someday so we can see a next gen of them.

do you need new firmware for the 625mhz?

No it's configurable since way back on the S3.  Those are the options on the dropdown list in the web gui.

There is different firmware for some frequencies though. I think that is what he is talking about.

Take a look at bitmain S7 firmwares: https://bitmaintech.com/support.htm?pid=00720151023101739550pOBiK5sO06A0

BitFury just taped out their 16nm chips, so their new mine should start gearing up soon. meh!

If they have that new chip perfected that scares me personally.  If as reported it's like 1/3 or less then current gen efficiency... so massive jump.

If I was them with the magic chip I would be pumping out very fast and changing out all old hardware.  This scares me that it likely is not 1 week of high difficulty change.
4208  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Before i start mining on: November 24, 2015, 02:45:30 AM

So i see to many people say start and some say about electricity for this i said i have reseloved problem but why to dont start to win ? were is problem i dont understand if i calculate with link with that person who publish link with 35 TH/s it cost 13,900$ and i made an calculate on this page

https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator

with 35 / TH/s per month with this calculate i win $2621.96 and for one year it will be 31,452 $ and if this site is correct and problem with electricity is not problem for me also temperature about this why to dont start mining can someone give to me a good reason why to dont start ?? or my calculates are wrong ?

1) It's not winning, it's earning and comes at a cost.

2) That calculator does not include electricity costs or which way the exchange price can go (and its affect on monthly electricity costs)

3) That calculator does not incorporate Difficulty changes, which happen every ~14 days.

That calculator is not good for anything except current difficulty period. DO not use it for a years income... it's not made for it.

Use one like: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator  But right now we really don't know on a lot it's been much higher then we have been use to.  We just got a 10+ change... that is huge.

So time will tell more, but right now appears a lot of new miners going up.
4209  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help! Mining is killing my lightbulbs on: November 24, 2015, 01:39:46 AM
For everyone that replied.

I tried different brands of light bulbs. The cheap dollar store ones and Phillips/GE they all last the same amount.

I am pulling around only 1000Watts or so.

LED is very expensive and if mining kills those LEDs then its going to get very expensive.

Besides buying expensive surge protectors, is there any software method to fix this?

It makes me wonder of quality of wiring or breaker.  I have pulled 1K + on multiple circuits in my house never once killed a bulb.  I now have most in my mining area, which is a nice option to have (I realize most don't have this option).

I'm suggesting trying 1 led bulb to see what it does.  I think it's possible it will act different as so low energy to power.  But I would not switch all to this unless you are sure it wont kill it, as your right it would make it more expensive.
4210  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cloud Mining - Please help a newbie on: November 24, 2015, 01:34:57 AM
When it comes to cloud mining, you need to check you ROI (Return On Investment) and the fees you are going to be paying.  You need to be careful, for there are a number of cloud mining scam sites out there that will take your money and run.  Some of them look legit and then fold up.  So take advise from your peers and do your research before you make any larger investments into cloud mining.  You may be better with pool mining where you own your equipment and earn through joining a pool.  Again, just my opinion.

i think before you invest you must calculate "the reasonable ROI " and the important of cloudmining is proof of hash/network, or proof of hardware
i prefered  to visit the mining cloud id posible, you can face to face with owner

It would be hard to visit most of the ones out there.  I know some of these keep location secret as a security measure, which is understandable if truly they own all the equipment.

I think best we have are vouches from hardware companies, or ones by hardware companies (legit ones).  Very few fall in this, there is one specifically that dodges any questions about hardware manufacture.

It's not perfect and can't stop all scams, but having that vouch does cut down amount of scams quiet a bit.

4211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do You Earn Free Bitcoins? on: November 24, 2015, 01:22:54 AM
There's no such thing as "earning free".  That's an oxymoron.  If you're "earning" something, you are performing some task from which you are then acquiring the coins.  I don't care if it's as mind-numbingly boring as repeatedly clicking on a faucet.  You are still performing a task and investing your time on the execution of that task.

On signature campaigns you could make a argument of it being free if done properly.  Yes there is a little setup time of joining a sig campaign, and adding to profile.  But it is not hard and normally does not take a ton of time.

And if done right you do normal posting.  If your doing your normal amount of posts... you are in a sense getting it free.  Now if you are one who posts more then normal to try for a higher payment yes it's costing time, and your doing it wrong.
4212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did you earn some bitcoin today? on: November 24, 2015, 01:20:11 AM
My favorite time of the week again.  Was able to get my signature campaign and mining earnings today.

Also with a new miner to play around was a fun week and more earnings from mining, which is always good.
4213  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best bitcoin wallet on: November 24, 2015, 01:18:59 AM
i use blockchain.info online wallet

Online wallets are not the best choice if you want to be safe. Rather pick a hardware wallet like QT.

I think we get a lot of people who don't read the pages which gets us answers like this.  Online wallets are hot wallets... no good for holding long term.  Great for spending short term... but in no way the best wallet overall.

Everyone really should look into hot/cold wallets before saying a online wallet is best.  On blockchain at least it does allow private keys to be made into paper wallets.  It still is hotwallet but if ever needed you could import into another wallet.
4214  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Miners should Start a Union on: November 24, 2015, 01:07:05 AM
What is the premise of the union?  Who would the union stand up against?  What exactly are you suggesting here?  If the top mining farms refuse to mine coin until the price rises, then eventually the difficulty would simply adjust to match the new, lower network hash rate.  If the top mining farms just refused to sell the coins they mined, I suppose they could eventually make enough of a dent in the supply/demand curves to influence the price of the coins in circulation... but not without going out of business first because they aren't selling the coins they've mined.

Sorry, but the concept of the union here just doesn't fly.

I have asked twice on your second question.  The whole point of a union is collective bargning against some company or someone.

You can't control free market such as value of BTC. Only way to do that is if you had the vast majority of BTC and only sold at a certain price..... but if 1 group or 1 person can do this it will kill BTC most likely.

I think this thread should be allowed to die.   A union just does not fit in the mining area.
4215  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Help! Mining is killing my lightbulbs on: November 24, 2015, 01:03:26 AM
The other solution is underclocking/undervolting your miners so they dont put such a large power draw on that circuit.

OP how much watts are you putting on each circuit? Also what volt and amp are the circuit breakers?   I just have never had issues with light bulbs makes me wonder if your pushing wiring or breaker really hard.

Have you tried anything new like the LED lightbulbs? Might be worth a shot trying one and see how it does compared to the CCFL if they keep dying.
4216  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Way to build up a savings account... on: November 24, 2015, 12:57:39 AM
buy a bunch of antimerns s5, i doubt you have enough space for a mass of s3, better to have more density with s5

17 s5 will do it, remember that your residence need to deliver 10kw

I would agree that is a lot of S3 or even S3+'s.  On S5 op keep in mind it normally runs hot and loud.   So if your spots are with people living close.... might take a mod or different miner.

I might suggest starting smaller.  If your getting 17T of old gear in one shot that is a lot, just at once if you have never mined before.  I would say start slower and move up you will most likely be much happier with scaling like this instead of a ton of old miners at once.
4217  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How do you get free power? on: November 24, 2015, 12:54:14 AM
There is no free power. Every source has it`s cost, even solar system must be build, purchased and needs some maintenance. If someone has a free power, then he steel it and consume as add cost for the someone else.

If i don't pay for my electricity, then its free electricity for me. Doesn't matter if the electricity we get is the government's responsibility. You can say that the taxes pay the electricity, so its not free;

But that is moot, because i would not pay more if i use more electricity. I would just pay a fix amount for having electricity. Therefore my electric cost for using 1 miner would be the same as not mining at all.

Therefore for me, mining would be free.

Normally it's not the government footing the bill on electricity but a landlord or parents, etc.   Are you living in something that is like government assisted?

Or is it a company/person who you pay a fixed bill to?   Most fall into this category very few I think have government paying electricity.
4218  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Nov 11 to Nov 24 Set up stage-picks are now closed! on: November 24, 2015, 12:51:15 AM
13 blocks (~2 hours) to go and we're down slightly.

Bitcoin Difficulty:   65,848,255,180
Estimated Next Difficulty:   72,730,764,036 (+10.45%)
Adjust time:   After 13 Blocks, About 2.0 hours

Edit: to put this into perspective - the last 10+ change was November 5, 2014...

Well, November is when the winter cold come, so i'm hoping we can chalk this up as the annual Diff raise that come with the cold coming and many switching to smart ASIC heating for the winter.

Considering the BTC raise we got and that seem to be holding, its not surprising the difficulty went up in the first place. Hopefully it settles... now.

It's going to hurt on this difficulty.  I did not think I would see a over 10 difficulty again.... just so much hash out there.  But it looks like its going to be over 10.

Wow is all I can say.  And hope next week is less... i like 5 or under.
4219  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ASICPuppy.net - COMPAC ($34.99) - AntRouter R1 ($49.99) - ANTMINER U3 ($44.99) on: November 24, 2015, 12:44:29 AM
Do you know if there are additional taxes when shipping to germany ... From former customers?

I've had 3 shipped from US to UK via asicpuppy.com and tracking says package is at local post office sorting office, this usually means I have import tax to pay. I'll update with more info when available hopefully in next 24-48 hours.

I had 2 sent from a private seller in US and they were delivered much faster to my door without any import taxes.

Depends what they put on the label I suppose.

By the way this isn't a criticism, just a comment, if I have to pay some import tax so be it Smiley.

As a general rule if you are in UK I think you can count on import tax.   This is all dependent on receivers country like CrazyGuy said.   If you were wanting to game the system with no import tax like it sounds like a private seller did... you should have contacted him first.  But I think you will find that CrazyGuy runs a good honest buisness and not trying to break import laws.

On shipping I am within the US there was no import tax from CrazyGuy, and I received my items very quick.  I have had 3 orders at this point and no issues.

For those looking at undervolting here is Phil's thread - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1260500.0

It's still early in the testing process.   I think after a few day's of Phil testing there will have a lot more answers as far as undervolting.
