4202  Economy / Gambling / Re: Let's create a new system for provable fairness. on: May 07, 2014, 03:39:31 PM
It would benefit the community if we all collaborated to make a new system. We should start off by listing problems with current provably fair systems.

  • The need to change a user seed every time in some cases.
  • Using variables in the hash that cannot be verified by the user that they were not changed after the bet. (Time, etc.)

We can add more if you post them here.

We should also list possible solutions to these problems. What if when a user signed on to a site, they input a deterministic wallet chain code. The site now locks that in to the account, and the user cannot have coins stolen because the site can always send to an address from that wallet and the client will have it. This also eliminates another problem.

As for the client seed, every roll could use the next deterministic address as the client seed. The site does not need to have the private keys, but if they have an address and a chain code, they can create all the next addresses, but not private keys.

I should not be the only person with input here. If you have ideas, post them. I'm just trying to get the ball rolling.

Tbh, i dont think 100% foolproof provably fair is even possible, there is always room for manipulation, im not saying gambling sites do manipulate rolls but they can .

They dont need to do it , in long term its better to be fair and u will get rewarded  with players and profit  .

When i come up with some ideas for better provably fair i will come back and post my thoughts .

someguy just hit 999x from faucet on his first bet!

I guess he just create a new account, bet 999x, and create another new account after losing the bet.
I can't imagine someone making a 999x win in his very first bet Cheesy

It can happen Smiley .

I made a Reddit post here concerning this issue - http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/24dqdb/blockchaininfo_psa_phishing_defense/. Andreas Antonopoulos created a blog post regarding defending yourself against phishing sites - https://blog.blockchain.com/2014/04/30/psa-phishing-defense/.

Read it and made new wallet with all protection that it can offer. Only thing is i did not download backup , coz i think its not safe to do so. I will not forget passwords. And i think backup can be provided by blockshain support when needed in case blockchain is down.

HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM!

I just did 10 bets in a row on automated betting at 1.02 odds and they ALL LOST and I can't win now!

STOP BETTING something is wrong here!  (it was working fine earlier but something went haywire apparently.

Yep. I won a bet but the money was taken. Admin better fix yhis and refund everyone or there will be hell to pay!

They ware updating something on site and messed up something. Will be back to normal ASAP , and everybody will be refunded. Admin will give official statement about it. Just be patient.
4217  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: !!Hacker Stole bitcoins from Blockchain Wallets!! on: April 30, 2014, 05:03:12 PM
Damn that happened today to one guy from pd. This is only thing why i hate bitcoin. I got robbed of 0.4 on that vanity site scam that made vanity addyes. I use only blockchain.info as my wallet, i use strong password and sms code , bigger funds i transfer to new blockchain wallet that i login only from my pc. Even cold wallet is not secure if u made it on ur pc , u need to have pc or laptop that never connected to internet, and to make paper wallet on it offline, and store btc on it . But still when u want to spend it u need private key online :S .
4218  Economy / Gambling / Re: LuckyNumber.me | 5555 Satoshi Faucet | Instant Cashouts | 1% House Edge on: April 30, 2014, 03:12:52 PM
seems like faucet got changed again.  yesterday I was getting 111 now it's 555.  Is the faucet the same as previously said but instead of 111 it's 555, and you need to bet .1 to get the 5555 faucet?

Yes its 555 for new players and for 0.1 wagered its 5555 every 15 min

every 15 mins, to be honest, that's pretty slow.  Well, I guess LN is why Stunna raised PD's faucet so I'm grateful for that at least.  But PD is every single minute, which is way more than 5555 every 15.

Competition is good...

Yes it is , but why do they need to race each other Cheesy ? Personally i never claim faucet every 15 min, and every 1 min even harder.

And faucet is not there for us to make money, its for us to try out the site and have fun. So it doesn't rly matter Smiley

Giftcoins! You said no changes would be made to your provably fair system when I last asked about it and now I am now asking again with a thread that proves your site is not provably fair.

Will you make the necessary changes to be fair to your players or are you happy as is? The thread is

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582687.0

Just in case you want to see for yourself. I don't want anyone getting scammed by a site that isn't provably fair so I want to bring this to your attention again.

I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.
There is a clock issue that will most probably fixed soon. It might be caused by lack of processing power since the site is pretty heavy. Causes it to stutter or to run late or early if you run it side by side in different browsers/computers.
Using server time in provability fair system seems fine with me. Showing it the ms in the website rolls, or removing ms from its betID checker will shut up those hating voices.

Tech stuff apart, that thread is confusing and not helpful at all. I am looking to understand this issue properly and I believe RGBKey is providing room for accusations instead of really helping out users. I just wonder sometimes why he mostly attacks PD competitors. But that's another issue.

Cheers
I am impartial. Just because your provably fair system sucks doesn't mean otherwise. Don't try to draw attention away from that. And changing how you use the time will not change anything, everything in my scam accusations thread still applies.

Saying that something can be rigged doesn't prove it is rigged . Yes it has flaws , but every system has flaws , every system can be rigged.
But that doesnt mean or prove it is rigged.
So you're telling me that it's ok for someone to call their site provably fair...even though they cannot prove that it's fair?
Huh

Like i said every site can be rigged, there is no fool proof probably fair system, atleast i dont know any . And they all prove it by enabling u to check bet, and u can do that on LN also. That bet lag is not intentional they will try to fix it , but that bet lag doesnt mean they are fixing u to lose.
