4201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Twitter can make impact in the BTC world? on: October 04, 2021, 08:30:31 PM
Twitter has indeed become the best cryptocurrency promotion place and many twitter users talk about crypto, especially Elon Musk who is a crypto activist.
Twitter coverage is very broad and able to reach everyone in this world. Twitter, which is led by Jack Dorsey, seems to be really serious about building a crypto platform on Twitter. Let's just wait for the latest news.
Unfortunately, at the same time Twitter became place to be for all sort of shillers, and signal to noise ratio is very bad. Practically the whole Twitter influencer scene is just one shiller after the another, and the amount of scammers there will soon overtake Telegram, which we all know is a cesspool.

4202  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: October 04, 2021, 08:21:35 PM
It's just that I have a little doubt about the actual number of posts throughout September because on the merit dashboard the number of posts made is only 487 for the 4 existing board categories, while on ninjastic.space the number of posts reaches 934. So far I know ninjastic.space saves all posts that were deleted or moved to another board, but I'm not sure nearly 50% of that number was lost during september due to being deleted by moderators. The only reason I'm thinking about decreasing the post count is that some users deleted their own posts during september.
Looking at Indonesian board post count evolution , looks like there is a less posts in the altcoin board than usual (as sen in the screenshot below). My guess is that there was some kind of cleaning, meaning one of your mods could have deleted some old topics or moved them somewhere else, causing this difference in the post count. It wouldn't be a first time, and certainly last this has happened.

Every time I hear the word extrapolation I think of this comic:

Haha good one Cheesy

It's just the beginning of the month and I am already being called out for slacking. Gonna try to make new monthly overview by the end of this week. Cheesy
4203  Other / Meta / Re: Should every newbie have a limit in the bounty of social media? on: October 04, 2021, 08:09:04 PM
I am of the personal opinion that Newbie and Jr. Member members should not participate in bounty and signature campaigns, just as I am of the opinion that campaign managers should not use the "5 merits in last 120 days" rule as a yardstick to determine whether or not someone is a quality poster or not.
The way things are developing and bar lowering down constantly, soon even that won't be a requirement. Managers have to fill those spots, I can't imagine any of them saying to potential client "sorry, I have to pass because I simply can't fill your signature campaign with quality posters as all that is left are shitposters".

A member who is active almost every day and fails in 4 months to get at least 5 times as many merits is a shitposter.
You can  be a decent poster in the gambling board, and still fail to meet that amount of merit.

What are the things not to do on the Bitcointalk forum?

What is a serious offense and what is a minor offense?
Looking at your posting history so far, I have one suggestion; start formatting copied text properly. It's not an offense as you included reference link, but its a bad posting style nevertheless.

On top of that, 4/5 posts written by you are topics in which you didn't add a single word by yourself, it was all copy/paste. Topics like that, in which you don't add your personal opinion on the matter are usually seen as low value, and might be reported&deleted by forum staff. I don't know if its just laziness or just merit fishing attempts, but that approach won't bring you far on this forum.
4205  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Testirajte svoje znanje o bitcoinu, blockchainu, rudarenju i ekonomiji on: October 03, 2021, 09:30:27 AM
Odradio i ja test, slabih 36/50.

4206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Give this bitcoin test... on: October 03, 2021, 09:22:40 AM
I did the test as well, but forgot to take screenshot. Maybe even better as I scored 36/50, which is quite embarrassing, seeing how others performed. Those economy questions completely ruined my score, as I was almost randomly choosing answers and didn't have much luck, and on top of that I made several stupid mistakes due hastiness and not properly reading all the answers.

At least I learned couple of new things, so can't say I wasted those ~10 minutes it took me to finish the test.
4207  Other / Meta / Re: Should every newbie have a limit in the bounty of social media? on: October 03, 2021, 09:13:11 AM
Most of the newbies who are in Bounty, they work for token pay programs like: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram etc., it's 80% profitable for companies in spreading their ads, rather than sig participants, it can't only be seen in this forum, outside the forum also visible through social media, except: sig count campaign with Bitcoin.
The way social media bounty campaign is usually done here is as effective as thread bumping, meaning its a waste of money and time.

I was crazy enough to check the work of an average bounty hunter several times while looking for alts, and to use that famous line from Blade Runner's "Tears in Rain" scene, I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. What do you think, what kind of reach can social media account have when it's usually followed by other bounty hunters, because who else will follow social media account that just spews crap from dozens of altcoin campaigns, simultaneously? Don't get me started on article campaign, where illiterate bounty hunters are text spinning wp content..
4208  Economy / Services / Re: Webcam sexy live show for coins ! bitcoin accepted on: October 03, 2021, 08:04:45 AM
I have no objection on anyone who want to make money, whether he or she is male or female.

My concern is only who will like to see the male shows on the internet ?  Females, i don't think so  Roll Eyes
I don't know whether you heard about it or not, but there is a certain amount of men that are attracted to other men, and probably watch and pay for that stuff. Those people that are attracted to own sex are called homosexuals, you might wanna read more about it in this Wikipedia article. Cheesy
4209  Other / Meta / Re: Should every newbie have a limit in the bounty of social media? on: October 03, 2021, 07:49:43 AM
Admins putting more restrictions on newbie accounts? I doubt if that will happen. At least not anytime soon.
I think that you misunderstood the first post, OP didn't suggest admins putting extra restrictions, but bounty managers agreeing not to allow newbie accounts joining campaigns.

I don't think this will somehow limit the number of new alternative accounts if managers change the rules.
Participation in the bounty is no longer a goal for many "new" accounts. Accounts appear that are grown to participate in subscription companies. Some newbies follow the pattern, earning merits from Ratimov, from OgNasty on merits topics. And then hunting for merits, they quickly get the rank of "member", after which they start spamming a lot in threads.
Its true that those more capable/experienced ones will easily find a way to get couple of merits and circumvent that restrictions either via one of the giveaway threads, or making some bullshit story and writing what other members want to hear, therefore showering them with merit, like in this case, when someone allegedly went from first time hearing about LN and implementing it to having 4 different persons paying via LN, and all that in a matter of couple of hours. Easy 63 merits from that bs story. Rinse and repeat.

It would still stop bunch of clueless ones that never left bounty section and have no idea how easy is to get the merit. But as i said earlier it won't happen as its not in the bounty managers interest, no matter what they say.

4210  Other / Meta / Re: Should every newbie have a limit in the bounty of social media? on: October 02, 2021, 06:18:23 PM
Reality is that bounty managers need those newbies joining in, even though we all know that they are probably alt accounts. They probably promise some numbers to their clients and without alt accounts it probably wouldn't be possible to reach needed numbers.

So no, I don't see that restriction being applied any time soon, or at least not by majority of bounty managers.
4211  Other / Meta / Re: What is the main reason you don't come to this website more often? on: September 28, 2021, 07:44:55 PM
I've been less active for the last couple of months, but not because I got bored of bitcointalk of because something is bothering me, but because something much more simple; I got shit load of extra work and can't afford so much leisure which I spent here time (as I could before) . Hopefully that changes soon.
4212  Economy / Reputation / Re: My bitcointalk account got misused by my friend on: September 28, 2021, 07:38:56 PM
Did you hand him your Skype account too?!
Hah, nice catch!

To me this sounds like just another bullshit story we heared countless time before. But even (for the sake of argument) say that what you are saying is right, how can anyone believe you as you are ready tu give your account to other people? Just that fact alone makes you untrustworthy.
4213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How are you taking the China Bitcoin Ban? on: September 28, 2021, 07:30:35 AM
What do you think about this? How are you taking this ban?
Taking it pretty much the same way I took all other previous bans in other countries, meaning not caring about it at all. It is true that this ban is probably the harshest so far in China and market reacted to it, but to be honest, the less Bitcoin has to do with China, the better. So whatever happens, its not bad for Bitcoin in the long run.
4214  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: September 27, 2021, 09:29:56 AM
The bottom line is local board only help members earn merit easier.
Nope, generalization. Some boards do have high merit/post ratio, while others are struggling. My local board (Croatian) struggled a lot until this recent increase in merit sources, with our merit/post average being lower than many English boards.

Without local boards, they can discuss well in English, in international boards so to be honest, in most of cases, local boards are used not because of limitations in English.
This forum would be way less active if there are no local boards so I think that they are great addition. What you obviously fail to understand is that is perfectly normal for people to be more relaxed communicating in their own language, even if they are fluent in English. To be honest, its kinda weird hearing this from you...somehow I thought that you are proponent of local boards.

I can bet that the average quality of posts that received merit would be lower than merited English posts.
Again generalization. While it's true that some local boards have more merit sources and its easier to get merit, same goes for English speaking boards.

Chinese aren't included
Rikafip explained the reason for that several times. During most months, more posts get deleted in the Chinese board than new ones are written. That results in a negative post count at the end. Looking at previous months, the last (and maybe only time) it was included was in March 2021. It would look silly to have look at the charts and see a local community who has written -27 posts, for example.
Yep, that was situation up until now and the reason why Chinese board was mostly left out of charts. But since I started using ninjastic.space for Russian board, it is logical to expand it for others too so Chinese will most likely be included in the next month's overview.
4215  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: September 25, 2021, 05:22:22 PM
For example, I want to know how many merit senders and receivers have been in the Local Board Indonesian since January 24, 2018 until now. I'm having trouble getting it from Merit Dashboard, can you share some information?
You mean something like this, merit senders and receivers per month?

Source: https://public.tableau.com/views/BitcointalkMeritDashboard/MeritSendersReceivers?:language=en-US&:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link

Or if you want total amount of merit senders and receivers, this is one of the ways to see it. List is much longer, you just have to scroll it down. Looking at it, there have been 1542 merit senders and 1423 merit receivers on your board since January 24th 2018 up until now, or more precisely September 24th.

4216  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: September 25, 2021, 08:02:53 AM

Jo jedan rekord oboren, merit/post ratio nam stvarno izgleda odlicno.

Lista aktivnih clanova naseg boarda u periodu 1.08-31.08.

Cheesy

As usual, I ask permission to take some data from this latest update post to complete my thread. I think it will be much more complete if I also add the most active posters on other Local Board as comparison for the Indonesian Local Board. Hopefully it can help the posters of the Indonesian Local Board to be encouraged to be even more active in posting quality things.
As I told you before, no need to ask for permission, feel free to use these charts whenever you want. As long as you mention the source of course.

Just wondering why Pakistan doesn't appear in this above graph of "Merit senders and receivers"? I know since Pakistan is not a local board technically and may be tracking individual sender receiver might be tricky?
Because Merit Dashboard tracks that only for boards, not specific topics. There are probably ways to get that info for Pakistan topic (manually counting?) so if you figure it out and can provide the info I will include it in the chart.

He only tracks merits distributed in sections which have their own local boards. Local threads, such as that of Pakistan are not included. I don't think it would make much sense to include the Pakistani local thread without also including the threads of Bangladesh, Serbia, Vietnam, Ukraine, etc. The names I mentioned are based solely on the number of posts in those language sections. And if you include one or two, there are always going to be questions why didn't you also include this one or that one...
I do track merit for 3 communities that don't have their own local board (Nigerian, Pakistan and Bangladesh), but not senders/receivers due before mentioned reasons. Originally, Serbian topic was included in those charts too (from 10/2020 to 04/2021), but post activity there dropped so much that I decided to remove it and focus only on those communities that have regular activity and some chances of getting their own local board, as that was the idea behind adding communities that don't have their own local boards, to somewhat help them, or at least try.

I remember back in old days ( for me that's 2013-2014) I used to worry about news like that, but now I caae t the point where I don't care about short term stuff like that as I am into this for a long run anyway.

The occasional mention of Bitcointalk in Croatian forums about technology, IT, and stuff like that could maybe get some new people interested.
I tried that, to no avail. Thinking if it, I talked to every single person I know IRL (that is into crypto) about bitcointalk and responses I got were from "bitcointalk is one big signature campaign circlejerk and echo chamber" (that's coming from veterans) to "what can I find on bitcointalk that I can't find someplace else" (mostly coming from new people). Neither is true, but that's how they perceive bitcointalk.

It's the same thing with the 3rd most active Russian - The0ldl_lser. Not a single post in English in the first 5 pages of his post history.
Azrieli has a few posts in English, but the majority of his writing also takes place in the local sub.
That's one of the advantages of big boards like Russian, German and Turkish; they are practically self-sufficient and members can find everything inside their own board. So even if they know English to some degree, majority of them will just rather stay there.
