4201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rigged Game on: April 10, 2023, 08:32:22 AM
You should not gamble if you have the mindset that they rig their games, and personally, I don't see it as a scam if gamblers are finding it difficult to win with a casino. But if such a gamble suspects foul play, then an alternative should be sorted for. One thing about casinos is that they are not as plain as anyone could want them, the general saying that "you can't beat the house" is not just a mere saying. There are programs and calculations put in place to favour the house that I don't believe are scams unless they don't pay your money.

And no matter how the house is favoured, some gamblers will always be winning at one time or the other. This is what keeps the business smoothly running.
4202  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Being Russia and Russian now on: April 10, 2023, 08:13:30 AM
I'm surprised about your article, did you research at all before you penned this down? I doubt that. Economically, there is no way such magnitude of sanctions would be meted on an economy that it will not affect it. Many countries of the world cut ties with Russia, so it's affecting their Employment, Trade balance, GDP and many more. The economy of Russia is contrasting at a slow pace and economists around the world fear more over time.

According to IMF, Russia's export dropped by 15.98% in 2022 and expect imports to increase by 5.6% and export by 3% in 2023. This equation is simply not in favour of Russia.

Also, Russia's GDP dropped an average of 3.05% in 2022 when the best and worse scenarios are averaged, and the economy expects worsen in 2023. The graph below is from europa.eu, it should tell you something.

It shows that the GDP has broken down from its ranged level since 2018, which might be a sign of more stress to the economy over time.

However, unemployment has not been noticeable much in the country, thanks to government efforts and measures to counter it. But for how long?
4203  Economy / Economics / Re: Automating your savings will help you save more on: April 10, 2023, 07:46:45 AM
I agree with you, OP; saving money is difficult because of inflation; if you consider your basic needs, you cannot save anything because the price of things is always rising due to inflation, while the amount of money we are gaining in monthly salary is not increasing on a regular basis; Fiat keeps losing value, basic needs prices keep increasing, so it is always difficult to save money these days unless you decide to skip your basic needs for future investments.
There is no time we can't save, whether the harsh or convenient times, only that we don't often see savings as a priority, and we are wrong about that. I just started inculcating the habit of saving last month, it was dawn on me as I've been spending so much, and most of them are on frivolities. This is because I had excess and without a good plan.

So, people could be indulging themselves whether they have the money in excess or not. But savings, even to the extent that we will feel it will help so much in making us achieve and plan towards better goals.
4204  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: April 09, 2023, 12:41:33 PM

That's why this thread keeping more replies because all gamblers can have a lesson after reading this and we a all know that every on of us are in different country and have a different value for our money like in my country which is 1.4 million dollars is huge money because 1 dollar is around
Exactly,  a lot of lessons have been learned from this incident and what makes it more touching is the fact that the amount lost is quite a significant amount that many think is enough money to change someone's life, this thread has been one of the threads that thought me how not to bet on sure odds since there are no odds that is 100% sure.

And also I have learned to minimize staking amount per time, this is because,  if the gamblers have a hard proper limit application, he or they won't have gone ahead to stake such an amount and that could have reduced the total amount I lose, from the replies of many members I have learned from the diverse experience of other in the forum and what they're thinking about the risk taken by the ops in question.
Without information from the gambler we can`t say that it was a lesson for him. If he has an opportunity to make several same bets same time - he has good chances to get more profit than this lose.
If he makes 3-5 such bets per day - he can get more money for a month. Of course he doesn`t like this situation but i don`t sure that it is critical for him.
As long as the guy is a human being, this is a lesson for him, I simply do not know why you believe he can't learn from it. We learn every day, and even if the guy is a billionaire, he would have the pinch of pain and regret in him that he could have used the money for a better thing or do not take such a stupid risk in expectation of peanut.

Gambling could come either way, yet if we have good managerial plans and always weigh our risks and outcomes to decide right, then we are wise.
4205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 09, 2023, 08:18:16 AM
Dortmund defeated union berlin at home and I must say it was an important win. With this win they continued to follow bayern Munich. It was Dortmund who had more possession of the ball and had more scoring chances. It would have been a disappointment for their fans if they lost this game too. Fortunately they won and showed that they are still in the race. Bayern Munich also scored an important away win against Freiburg. They already played good football with a lot of pressure. The goal came early in the second half.
Dortmund and Union played so well since the first half. There are two yellow card given by referee. The good thing is doyan was able converting an accurate pass to be a goal for dortmund. Union berlin has been trying so hard to push itself beyond its limit to make a goal and kevin behrens was able making the situation to be drawn. that's very sad to see that berlin must conceded another goal after moukoko was making additional goal for dortmund.
berlin must lose three points from playing away against dortmund. Dortmund was trying so hard to beat berlin too. Moukoko has become a savior for dortmund.
The match was a bit hard to predict.
Dortmund managed to beat Union Berlin in a big way. As a result, Dortmund have added some great points and the team is only 2 points behind Bayern Munich in the second place. But hopefully Dortmund will go to the 1st place again.
Managed? I guess this is not the appraisal that Dortmund deserves, they played well and I love the way they distributed their goals spell and it was a well-deserved victory. It's Bayern Munich that needs to be worried now as any mistake might make Dortmund be ahead of them again, while Union Berlin might maintain its third spot for a quite number of time.

But this will be a tough task for them as Bayern Munich seems determined and trying to improve in their recent matches.
4206  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession Highly Likely on: April 09, 2023, 07:45:38 AM
Economists around the world feared the global recession last year. Still, the fear is being allayed this year as more hope is rekindling, thanks to governments' careful efforts to tackle the menace. Global spending rose much in recent years due to inflation but for lesser goods purchase and service rendering, and a responsible government hiked the interest rates across the board.

Still, the effect has consequences on the GDP, Manufacturing/Retail sales and others. These contracted the economy but the effect is subsiding in 2023. So, I don't believe a recession is feasible at least in the near future.
4207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 09, 2023, 07:23:07 AM
I laughed when Chelsea appointed Lampard, it seemed like they had no other option. Lampard has proven unable to train well. He's new to join, but the defeat to Wolves has given me a bad impression on him even more. Their game was monotonous, Chelsea had the ball and couldn't make a goal. The new formation used seemed to make players a little confused. Chelsea's midfielder is not creative. They don't have the creativity to make chances. I don't think Chelsea will change until the end of the season.
Chelsea performance were bad not because Lampard, but previously when it was still managed with Potter Chelsea performance is like a mediocre club. It's not surprising to see Chelsea get beaten by Wolves because I've predicted it before. That's why I say it's better to bet on Chelsea's opponent because Chelsea is still overrated by many people.

I think Chelsea should be happy since they have get many points before, even though their performance will be bad, but it will not make them to fall in delegation zone.
You are right, Chelsea played quite well in previous matches. However, they are not performing very well in the current matches. But I think Chelsea needs to win some matches now and collect points, which will make it easier to go to the next round.
I blame the Chelsea management for playing politics with rhe club, sacking of Tuchel was the wrong idea, sacking a coach that won the club champions league and was competing with other elite clubs. Because he was having difficult trim they sacked him and brought inexperienced coach to manage such a big club. Chelsea performance will still slow till they got a new coach that's experienced to manage the club. Bring Lampard back to the club again Wasn't a good idea, instead Potter Graham would have finished the season with the club. Now they're fighting from being relegated. What a shame the management has brought to the club.
Lol...I raised this issue many months ago when Tuchel was sacked, but it seemed that no one was ready to see it in my view, instead Chelsea fans were rejoicing when Potter was assigned as if a messiah has come. The guy was unjustly sacked and many coaches were baffled by it. The management of Chelsea will always have their fair share in the blame of the woe of the club and it will take time, and possibly more coaches before their former glory is restored.
4208  Economy / Gambling / Re: My list of good crypto casinos on: April 08, 2023, 02:45:11 PM
There is no doubt there are a lot of bad losers out there, many gamblers actually believe they can beat the casinos at their own games and when they do not accomplish their goal they think they have been scammed, however as soon as you read their complains about the casino you can easily realize that they have a completely mistaken idea of what gambling is about, and as such it does not matter how much they complain and how loud they try to be as no one will listen to them.
i call it the greedy gambler.
because gamblers who are greedy they feel they are the most righteous and feel they can beat gambling to win.
but when continuously losing, he would leave the casino in a fit of anger and anger after that spreading nonsense about him being cheated by the casino etc.
a lot of times i see gamblers like that and sometimes i prefer to ignore people like that so he gets madder when no one responds to his bullshit.
What amazes me of those gamblers is that it is not as if they do not understand the math behind the games and how over the long term it should be basically impossible for most gamblers to beat the casino, but even with that knowledge they think they deserve to win, as if just because they are the ones gambling then the math should change for them to win consistently, and when that obviously does not happen then they claim they were scammed when they know that was not the case.
Well, some are indeed been scammed, while some are only labelling them scams because of the mere feelings of being cheated. Fair casinos are many, but do the gamblers truly know the game? I don't think all of them do. You can't beat the house, this is why I always play for fun and use the money I can afford to lose.

But for sportsbooks, it's still better. If well-studied and managed, one can take risks and still gain money regularly.
4209  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Cryptocurrency Exchange platform: Paxful Exit on: April 08, 2023, 11:28:56 AM
I must say that this news came to me as a rude shock, I was still in the defence of Paxful a while ago when Localbitcoins exited as though they understood the business better. Not knowing that their days are also coming to an end soon. Personally, I've never been a fan since they have an unfavourable high fee, but this is sad for those that are making their livelihood from this scheme. Particularly those that are already rigid and trusted there, they will be looking elsewhere like the P2P of exchanges.

The exchanges are now where many will run to as they are stable and don't do the P2P only.
4210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price trajectory using AI on: April 08, 2023, 10:38:51 AM
The truth is that ChatGPT will not see the bull run of Bitcoin, nor would it see the bearish trend of the coin. The AI is not programmed for such but to give information on how the general market works and what affects it to act as it is. The advice on how to trade it, make money from it and avoid many losses could also be given by the AI, but not precise trading advice.

The financial market is too vast for any person or AI. If such as you wanted could be achieved, then the financial market could collapse as no one will be losing anymore.

4211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How honest and transparent are casinos? on: April 08, 2023, 10:27:23 AM
Not easy to figure out how many users are able to claim such codes shared on the social media but time limit can be used to track when the bonus drop availability ends. Some big platforms put wager requirements for claiming code drops so it is not as easy as it sounds to get all data who claimed it. If you have doubts specific casino cheats on the numbers, you may ask from support to prove marketing trick has not been used to convince users, IMHO.
Even if you ask their support, for sure they can manipulate the data as long as they benefited on this.
There’s no way to know this one, and better to ignore this instead of focusing on a things that we cannot control. Maybe there’s limit for every promotions or none at all, once you are able to claim the reward then your concern should be answered, many site will not ruin their reputation by just having this promotions being manipulated, let’s give the benefit of the doubt to the top sites.
Just like I have explained it is not easy to prove your argument. Finding real data then comparing results take a lot of time effort which can be absent for majority of the gamblers.
My take on this argument is that both sides have their valid points, but no one should be completely right about theirs. My reason is that there are some casinos that are thorough and fair with their dealings, and they will give you the proof of what you need as it is. But some will never do that or even manipulate the one they provide you.

The bottom line is that casinos will always be casinos, it's not for the faint in mind. Whether they are completely fair or not, just know your strategy and principles that gives you some leverage to make money or quit if you know it's not for you.
4212  Economy / Economics / Re: Pranksters got Ch. Lagarde (ECB) to admit Digital Euro will be about tracking on: April 08, 2023, 10:10:34 AM

Christine Lagarde, the president of the European Central Bank, got pranked by pranksters posing as Ukraine's president V. Zelensky.
In the interview she gave, she admits that the Digital Euro will be all about tracking and control.

I don't know how this could be true because the two people you mentioned are high-profile personalities that can't just be pranked anyhow, not to say of impersonator pranking her. Well, we should not believe everything we read online, particularly those that are not coming from reputable news outlets.

That said, everyone knows that CBDC is the latest initiative, it's nonnegotiable over time except if the country or region wants to take the backseat. And the main purpose is to reduce the dominance of cryptocurrencies and enhance control, tracking and accountability.
4213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1% own 99% of BTC, 1% have 99% of power? on: April 07, 2023, 01:19:58 PM
I think I understand that the BTC blockchain can't be corrupted, because it would be too difficult to do.  But can't the 99% be exploited the 1% that own 99% of BTC?  BTC is a transfer of wealth to a different system.  Won't the 1% be able to exploit the 99%?
Tks!
Well, you have to go back to the reading, the 1% that was claimed to control the 99% is not based on your disposition. Still, they are the ones with the coin and they are at some times giving it away or selling it at their discretion.

Uhhh 1% does not own 99% of Bitcoin. No idea where you got that idea from.
He might be right, but it's according to some of the articles and general saying on the internet. Is this really true? I don't know, but the myth is verifiable. However, their point is that 99% of Bitcoin addresses don't have the coin in them or have so little to be recognised. Nonetheless, this is an old saying which might not reflect the present-day status of Bitcoin.

4214  Economy / Economics / Re: I had a raspberry, I sell it to my child, how much money do I made? on: April 07, 2023, 12:59:12 PM
I'm I missing something? It doesn't make sense to me, but if it does to you, please clarify better.

You actually made nothing ($0) in these charade transactions as you are the owner of the raspberry, the money you gave to your child and the supposed money you think you made from the transactions.

The equation might have been different if the money is independent of you in the case that it's your child's or someone else's money that has nothing to do with you whatsoever.
4215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do new online casinos struggle? on: April 07, 2023, 08:12:10 AM
A new casino will always fail if the owners are looking for profits from day one. As casino scams are quite common in the online era not everyone will believe in a new casino. The need to first build trust and work on marketing. These things take time and also need good investments. This is why the casino business is not that easy. I guess this might be the reason why most online casinos cease to exist after a year or two.

When a casino just start newly, it's better for them to first gain the trust of their customer or perhaps potential customers,  because when they just jump into the business with the intent of profiting there is a high probability that they are going fail.
But if it's a casino that won't be able to survive for a long period without profits then they can start looking for ways to profit from gamblers, as they do say, "no risk no gain".

One thing that can help a new casino build trust is to have a license; I know it is far from the holy grail but it is already a small step. It takes a long time to build a good reputation but only seconds to destroy it. If complaints appear (and they will), then they all needed to be handled in a good way and there are many examples for new casinos on this forum where that is clearly not the case.
Of course, reputation counts, and this is what they will have to strive to build in years. Unless the casino is a scam that will build trust for a while and disappear with people's money over time. If not, they need to follow an integrity path and use the right technology to be trusted as they pay ASAP. With these and even more, trust would be built.

Also, for those that mean business, marketing matters initially. This is the way to attract gamblers, and it will now be left to them to use good service to make them stay.
4216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 07, 2023, 07:40:38 AM

Arsenal no doubt are one step or should I say two step away from securing the premier league title, but any slip up could see them throw away all the hard work they have done for this year because the matches remaining for them are still a little bit much but with the coming of Gabriel Jesus like you said in the squad will be beneficial to them but their fixture against liverpool is very vital because this Liverpool side although wounded could really play a surprise in the picth, they have done against Manchester United and could also shock the gunners if they are not causious enough.
That's the point, don't let them make mistakes and lose focus so that it will cost them later. Now they are just focused on the Premier League, because they have been eliminated from the competition they are participating in this season. This season is a good season for Arsenal to become champions, the opportunities and opportunities are really in front of their eyes now. Arteta must be able to motivate his foster children so that this opportunity does not pass them by.
If Arsenal can beat Liverpool in the upcoming match then of course Arsenal can be said to be one step ahead to get closer to winning the title this season. but the difference in points between Arsenal and Man City cannot be said to be safe either. because Man City has one delayed match that they can use to reduce the point gap with Arsenal. but as long as Arsenal can continue to win the remaining games then we can be sure Arsenal will not be stopped this season.
The 1 outstanding match of Man City should be put into consideration truly, but still, if they win their next match, they will not equal Arsenal. They will only close back their consistent gap of 5 points which will make no difference. The case of the two clubs this season is such that Man City was the first to be serious, Arsenal took over, and Man City tried to take over after the WC until Arsenal's current lead.

This present leading might be the final as the season runs to an end, and I don't believe Arsenal will relax anymore at this crucial time.

4218  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance Trouble rises - Australian Regulator Cancels Derivatives License on: April 06, 2023, 01:29:19 PM
Thank you for this information, and I would like to say that Binance got what they deserve if the news is true. Many companies believe that they can do what they like and nothing will happen, but at times, it doesn't go well in the same clime. Australia is one of the countries I respect most in the world, and aside from that, ASIC is a strict regulator which I respect so much. It's my second after the US's CFTC, which is much more respected by me than the UK's FCA (based on my experience with how they deal with trading companies within their jurisdiction).

What the CFTC has unveiled in the Binance (US) might not be hidden from the Binance (AU), which might make them undeserving.
4219  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Clients getting turned down by United Kingdom Banks | PM on other quest on: April 06, 2023, 01:06:35 PM
This is an example of fiat fighting back, maybe they've realized the dominance of the cryptocurrencies and are jealous of how they are missing businesses because of it.

This action comes from some banks, and not all, so it is impossible to say fiat against crypto. Fiat is still controlled by the government, and the bank is just an agent that helps the government distribute fiat, so it doesn't need to be against cryptocurrencies. If the government finds out that cryptocurrencies are harmful to fiat, we will be in more trouble than fiat. So don't expect their fight to happen, we won't get any benefit from it.
Your response still baffles me, they are not just needed as you contradict yourself and explained what an elementary student also knows, so I don't see a reason for it.

I will just ask you a question, perhaps, I will conclude that the acts of those banks are not anti-crypto as they turn down crypto-related companies, which was not their initial mode of operation...

...And the question is, what is their reason (as you seem to know it)?

4220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: April 06, 2023, 07:17:24 AM
Lazio vs Juventus will be a tight match. Both teams perform very well currently. Although Lazio is in 2nd place, I don't think that Lazio is better than Juventus. Juventus is just unlucky because he got a problem, so they lose many points. But if we consider the squad quality, I think Juventus squad is much better than Lazio squad. I really expect that Juventus to win this match, they have good motivation to return to top 5. If they win this match, I assume they may return to top 5 at the end of the season.

Lazio can not be underestimated. Lazio beat Napoli 0-1 at home to Napoli. Lazio also beat Roma 1-0. against Juventus, the chances are 50:50 I think, but Lazio has the competence to beat Juve.
Juventus did well, but Lazio had a more consistent performance. even though they didn't win big, Lazio consistently collected winning points, that's what made them in 2nd place in the Serie A standings.
Truly, the performance of Lazio has improved, especially in the last 5 matches. And this is against the reduced performance of Napoli, particularly at the time that Victor Osimhen is not playing. Also, I believe that Napoli has relaxed, maybe it's because of the points they have now, thinking that no club could meet them anymore this season.

As this is true, I believe they should still be serious, and if Victor Osinhem did not play, they don't have the chance of winning, if he does, they might win against Lazio.
