4201  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevoss launching "Gemini" serving bitcoin to wall street on a golden plate on: January 24, 2015, 04:15:54 PM
The guy from LinusTechTips did a video on the Gemini Bitcoin exchange, this guy gets tons of traffic:

4202  Economy / Economics / Re: Is crypto as a financial investment doomed? on: January 24, 2015, 04:10:32 PM
There's no need for more than one cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin won that race.
^ this.

These times are just moments in history when people are figuring out what the best currency is while they already know but were too late to the game to get rich quick so they inject some hopium in their veins and gamble with some shitcoin in the hope they "earn" some bitcoin for it instead.
Don't be fooled, don't waste your time and energy.

Buy bitcoin, hold and get rewarded.

Or, speculate on some shitcoin knowing it will go to zero and try to rip off as many bitcoin as you can from those get rich quick people. But you have to like this game. I prefer the first.

Well the only way to find out if there will be other cryptos beside bitcoin is people deciding to adopt another coin. If merchants start accepting for example Monero specially in dark markets, monero will be another crypto that success. If people start using Maidsafe, Safecoin will subsequently be a success.. etc.

Yes, true.
But I doubt many people find it convenient to have 23 different shitcoins in their wallets and remember their application or value.
Hell, most people already have a problem understanding bitcoin itself!

Not 23 but a couple. For sure most of them are shit, my portfolio is a joke because the only surviving coins i have out of like 40 are bitcoin monero safe litecoin and doge, the rest are dead in volume.
4203  Economy / Speculation / Re: +$240.. on: January 24, 2015, 04:05:17 PM
Let's see, the current range of motion is 150-250. 150 was the weakest point we've seen during this crash. So we are on a 50/50 scenareo now. Make your bets because guess what: nobody fucking knows Smiley
4204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Justice Is Served I Guess on: January 24, 2015, 03:58:31 PM
I personally fail to see why this man deserves to be jailed.

Same as Charlie Shrem, as an example to the rest of us. Oversee the sale of fraudulent investments costing nations worldwide billions, no problem. Trade crypto before the law's figured out what the hell they are, do hard time. Double standards at its finest.
First rule of society: The establishment always wins. The second rule is...................       Wink

Quote
"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes it's laws" — Mayer Amschel Bauer Rothschild
Im not sure if that Rothchild quote is true tho, ive seen in a lot of documentaries but the source is untrue.
4205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Estonia obsessed with BTC? on: January 24, 2015, 03:56:40 PM
I guess the instability in their economy makes them distrust fiat currency and turn to Bitcoin
Cyprus have suffered from massive bank bailouts and i dont see their citizens being obsessed with bitcoin tho.
4206  Other / Meta / Re: Putting your address in profile field? on: January 24, 2015, 03:37:50 AM
Do you mean we send our bitcoin address to that guy?
Yes, send a address that you are in  complete control of, if you can't access your account for what ever reason you sign the address and send that information to theymos.
Im not sure if I get it. What do you mean by sign? who is theymos? is there a newb tutorial for this?

Also, shouldn't it be easier to make it via email? Like, lets say your account gets hacked. The hacker right now could freely change your password and email direction. Why not make it need an email confirmation before applying changes? This way, the hacker would need both your account + email pass. Right now email is pretty useless, this could automate the process of recovering a password instead of having to wait to manually get a guy named theymos to review your case. Most if not all forums require email confirmations to change sensitive data of the account, i never understood why this forum doesnt.
4207  Economy / Economics / Re: World War 3 has already begun, but it's an economic war, not a conventional one. on: January 21, 2015, 07:34:59 PM
And I also think that litecoin was created by the chinese to try to kill bitcoin in 2011.
Right when capitulation occured litecoin was launched.
The knew US and alies had 1 million bitcoins, they now try to get as much as bitcoins too.
You already see litecoin is moving in the opposite direction of bitcoin.

Well Litecoin creators as far as I know are public so there's no conspiracy there, unless you consider cobble (related to Google) a part of that conspiracy.
I think it was just a project that never tried to create something new and revolutionary, just an experiment to see how an alternative "silver" bitcoin would work.
4208  Economy / Economics / Re: COINBASE JUST DUMP 75MIL INTO BITCOIN on: January 21, 2015, 07:05:42 PM
We're still waiting for the interesting news: what are they going to do with those funds?
OP didn't even bother to copy paste the link to the original news and expects people to buy like crazy because capslocks.
This means nothing to me, will probably have a small peak on the price due hype but who knows.
4209  Economy / Economics / Re: Who control our bitcoins? WE do!! ☆ BANK RUN ☆ on: January 21, 2015, 06:54:30 PM
For many users, included me, there are good chanches that the exchangers are acutually doing what banks usually do: operating on fractional reserve.

This is extremely dangerous for bitcoin, besides the price tanking because non-existent bitcoins are currently traded. More than that, letting them to do it invalidate the whole bitcoin concept, a perfect money for an untrusted network.

Bitstamp is constantly refusing to do an audit, also after all the shit that happened. Me and many others do not trust they on their word about not operating on fractional reserve, but they refuse to submit proof because they think they are " too big to fail". They are acting just like a bank, and by all the chanches operating under fractional reserve (maybe, also legally). Let's prove them wrong!

I want to organize a bank run, somebody can help me?

If you put your coins on an exchange they aren't your coins anymore because you dont own the private keys, you should have known that.
Putting bitcoin in a centralized exchange was always a bad idea, ideal for scammers. Im not putting a single btc in an exchange until decentralized ones appear.
4210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin needs Regulation to save itself from Forex traders! on: January 21, 2015, 06:48:47 PM
There is a huge assumption that bitcoin will be 200$ in 150 years.
You've missed like 40 zeroes on there.
4211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Telegram group on: January 20, 2015, 08:02:35 PM
Please somebody to add me to Telegram Bitcoin group as @filchef

i think telegram group need phone number to join...
i mean the number who you use to regiter on telegram..

bye bye
Yeah, giving away phone numbers suck ass. It would be cool to have a blockchain based txting app for smartphones.

you could use some online service that give you random number(shared probably)

I've tried registering a Tinder account with these free online services with random shared numbers and the SMS never arrived. Dunno if with Telegram it will work. I dont think so tho.

Btw anyone knows how to register in Tinder with a fake number?
4212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm back in! on: January 20, 2015, 07:58:04 PM
The price is right, so today I transfered money to Bitstamp and tomorrow I will buy Bitcoin again!

As Zhou Tonged said before their video was taken down, Price Down, Pick up!

With everything happening in the bitcoin space plus price being ridiculously low, I ones again for the first time in over a year is buying. Just wanted to let you know about my optimism  Grin

Do you still trust Bitstamp at this point? I would withdrawn all BTC as soon as possible after operating. Unless you are a daytrader imo don't leave a single satoshi in any exchange. Even Andreas has been saying this for ages.

What? If you're not safe to store your money in a Slovenian bitcoin exchanger, where can you store your money!?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-YPZdZD-0A
Lol, Good catch. Well, its a critique/joke but its better than no publicity at all. At least a lot of the Jimmy Fallon audience may google Bitcoin and learn from themselves.
Im seeing too many jokes about Bitcoin lately in mainstream media tho. It gets fucking annoying at times. These dumb dollar loving cunts will not know where its coming from when shit hits the fan.
4213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some reasons you think Bitcoin will grow in 2015? on: January 20, 2015, 07:21:46 PM
Besides BTC's acceptance, the people's awareness is also growing. Talking around me, more and more people have heard of BTC. With limited knowledge, which I can correct, some people are already able to criticize it!
Im yet still to see a local person I see IRL that can give a sound critique against BTC. The most they've heard is the name plus "its some sort of internet money thing", people is still clueless but yes its slowly happening. Its like teaching your mom how to use email all over again. We still early adopters.
4214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Šogecoin on: January 20, 2015, 07:19:14 PM

THIS LOOKS SHOPPED / I CAN TELL FROM SOME OF THE PIXELS AND FROM SEEING QUITE A FEW SHOPS IN MY TIME.
4215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The people buying ethercoin know it is completely unrelated to Ethereum, right? on: January 20, 2015, 07:12:10 PM
I don't get why people would invest in Ethereum when Maidsafe seems like a more solid project that does everything Ethereum attempts to do.
4216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero under 25 cents? What the hell are you waiting for? on: January 20, 2015, 06:58:05 PM
Monero is insanely underrated. We are talking actual e-cash there, Bitcoin doesnt qualify as 100% ecash. Monero will eventually get where it deserves to be basically because people will need it. These that go on places like SilkRoad (I dont) will use it a lot.
4217  Economy / Services / Re: Up to 0.035 BTC weekly for YOUR SIGNATURE *New rules on: January 20, 2015, 06:36:40 PM
Great stuff, my mates told me about this one so we on it. My question tho is: do you need to re-enroll or once you in, or you dont need to re-enroll and you keep getting pay'd weekly as long as you are active?
4218  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is really fucked up on: January 14, 2015, 06:58:21 PM
I think the bitcoin will pump  after the next block reward halving , at the moment there isn't a reason for a pump ( I'm realistic and this is my opinion).
I don't know  "why" this dump but I'm sure we will reach again $ 150 , very soon.
Well I remember reading the same about DOGE and nothing happened with the famous havling. Of course DOGE isn't BTC but just saying.
4219  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is really fucked up on: January 14, 2015, 06:54:45 PM
No, really.

Smells like MtGox all over. I hope Bitstamp and all shitty exchanges die ASAP. I hope Karpeles gets a long term in the jail.

Anyhow, breaking this low brings a huge opportunity which many will fail to see. The only problem is one buy's now and price gets to $80, there will be more time involved until it gets back to 190 and again to over 500. But it will.

Many will fail to see that. And please stop the 'free market' bullshit. When you have an 'audience' of 90% sheeps and a few shitty exchanges, with no transparency, you cannot call it free market. This is bullshit.

PS: I was terribly wrong, I was thinking that 250-270 would be the bottom.
Like I said before, Bitcoin was never supossed to depend on centralized exchanges and payment systems like Bitpay, but think... no one forced people to put their money there and support these. People wanted a way to daytrade and they, freely, agreed to fund and support such exchanges. Serves them well for trusting them and not waiting for p2p exchange technology to be available, but guess what, no one ever forced them to put their money there. It was a free decission, so at the end of the day, the core of Bitcoin is free market and they freely funded these projects, so yes, deal with it, this is free market, including shitty audiences, centralizing projects and all, the core is all working under Bitcoin which is free, so deal with it, you can't cherry pick what is and isnt freemarket.
4220  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Suicide / Kill ? on: January 14, 2015, 06:50:54 PM
Bitcoin was never intended to be regulated through centralizations such as Bitpay, Coinbase and the famous exchange. Im sure Satoshi is revolting inside his anonimity as we speak. It was supossed to be cash 2.0, not fiat 2.0. We need stuff like Coinffeine more than ever now. Trusting exchanges was never a good idea.
