4201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't complain for too long. on: July 18, 2019, 08:10:30 PM
The most important in crypto is patience, in crypto everything is unstable and at the same time every coin is unpredictable, so there are really many times that we need to wait for the right time to do such profitable strategy, that is why controling our emotions is realy important, because there are so many situation that can make us loss of we cannot control our emotions.
You are wrong over here. Who told you that every coin is unpredictable? You see, you can actually predict which coin is going to be a success and which coin will go down the drain. Think about an altcoin which is an exact clone of another coin. Lets also consider about another coin which basically is useless. These coins are called "shitcoins". You will see that as soon as they enter the market, the price are getting pumped (probably by the devs themselves) and then all of a sudden they get dumped and dies eventually. You can actually predict when this is going to happen. Those who join this market early, manages to make some good profit out of this shit coin.
4202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Imagine that you're new to crypto now on: July 17, 2019, 05:39:03 PM
Imagine that you are a new player in the crypto world and have no idea about this topic.
What are you doing now? Read the book? You invest your savings in bitcoin, maybe you look at other coins (alts) or maybe you see that the price is falling and you're waiting to buy even lower. If so, do you know when to buy? What's your plan for this moment? Smiley
If I had no idea about crypto currencies, I wouldn't directly jump into investing on crypto currencies. That would be plain stupidity. I would rather learn and try to understand what crypto currencies are. I would experiment with different coins and once i get familiar with it and the technology, I would think about investing on it.
4203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever looked at how much you have wagered with a hanging mouth? :P on: July 17, 2019, 03:30:43 PM
I have quit gambling now.

However, when I look at the wager amount of my accounts in various sites and add them up, a total of 15 BTC comes up!

That's around $150000= 10,500,000 INR ! Around 1 crore Rupees or 0.15 million dollars!

I know it's easy to reach that wager since wager counts all bets even on 99% chance wins so if someone with 1 BTC wagers 20 times on 99% win chance and win all, they will wager 20 BTC!

But still to think I have wagered that much amount leaves me with a open mouth sometimes. Overall I'm in loss tho xD

Did you take the price of bitcoin into factor? You know, when the price of bitcoin was low like $100, people would bet like 0.5 BTC in one go. If you are going to measure your bet amount in Fiat currency system, then starting taking average of all price through out the time you placed your bet to get the real bet amount in fiat.
And like you said, one could just place like 100 Sat bet on 99% win chance on auto bet and reach 100 BTC wagered amount by doing nothing. I prefer calculating profit/loss through your lifetime of gambling.
4204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin's future. on: July 17, 2019, 02:34:05 PM
The more new coins that are present in the crypto market, will certainly enliven the crypto world. My question is how do you look at the future of the altcoin, with fairly tight competition. Will it affect the price of old altcoins, such as Ethereum, XRP and others.
Yeah, they do have a tight competition, but each crypto currency has its own unique feature (unless its shit coin which  is a clone coin of another altcoin. They don't last long in the market or their value is always very low). There are tons of altcoins, but only the ones with potential are more used and well known. The future of altcoin is same as bitcoin. It is here to stay and will be used along side bitcoins.
4205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Preferred crypto betting site ? on: July 13, 2019, 01:50:16 PM
Which crypto betting site is the best in your opinion ? Do you prefer sites that use large cryptocurrencies or platform which use their own token ? Why ? We would love to hear your opinion on this subject.
I prefer crypto-games.net. They have been on the gambling market for a very long time and has an excellent reputation. They accept a lot of crypto currencies and even supports coinswitch. So if you have a coin that is not supported by crypto-games, you can easily convert it into one of those supported coins within seconds.
I would prefer sites that have lots of options when choosing a coin.
4206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Be careful of bounty campaigns with "download app" requirement on: July 13, 2019, 01:12:09 PM
i know that people will try to put virus on their apps, they try to make the most of it, even if its not the companies, bad employee also can put virus, trojan, or backdoor on their app without the companies knowing it. but if its on google play store that mean its safe right? i don't really know how that work.
As far as I know, the apps are scanned and made sure they are safe by google before getting it uploaded to their server. But still, they may be able to bypass their security and still infect the application with any kind of virus.
Companies will know if an employee tampers their application. After an application is developed, they go through various testing through different departments (like QA and stuffs - not an expert in this field) and one of them is bound to find out the trap.
4207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did i make or lose money on this trade? on: July 13, 2019, 01:08:58 PM
I bought an altcoin a long time ago.  I spent around $850 to buy it.  Example say i bought it at $0.01.  So i bought 85000 of it roughly.  I sold it when it was a bit over 2 cents... but sold exactly half.  Let say i originally spent 0.045 btc to all that altcoin.  When i sold the altcoin... i got back about 0.05 btc.  And of course i still had about 42500 of the altcoin.  But that altcoin has dropped over 90% and i still have it now.
Does that mean even if that altcoin i have go to 0... i still profit because i spent 0.045btc originally for the 85000 altcoins and got back 0.05btc for selling 42500 altcoins?
The thing is the btc that i received back when i sold the altcoin... i still have it.  But the btc price that i received the btc for the altcoin sale was higher than the current btc price now.  So in the end no matter what, i profited because i received more USD worth back then for the sale of altcoin? Or because i received more btc than i started with?
In terms of income, its the USD.  But in terms of btc accumulation, its the 2nd part but still its a yes because i received more btc than i put in it for altcoin right?
Now the thing is do ppl consider altcoin gain or loss... when you sell an altcoin for btc... do you look at the current usd value of total btc received?  Or you look at how much btc you received back?  Because you can easily receive less btc than you originally spent on the altcoin... but the usd value of the btc is worth more.  You could also have a usd loss but receive more btc than you put in... assuming that altcoin does better than bitcoin itself..
Yeah, you did make a profit of 0.005 BTC. Its a very simple calculation. You spent 0.045 BTC to buy those altcoins. You sold half of those altcoins for 0.05 BTC after few months. That is it. You are in profit now. No matter how much the price of the altcoins drop, you are still in profit. If you sell those altcoin for even cheaper price, you will still be in profit. Its just that you missed your opportunity to make more profit. This is based on comparing the altcoin with btc trade. If you think about the fiat/USD value then it might depend on the price of the bitcoin.
4208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some Big Bounty Hunters Are Greedy on: July 13, 2019, 01:03:16 PM
I think your friend are telling the truth. Nowadays, getting reward from bounty is too hard to think about even. I can't remember when people last say that they had got a chunk amount of money from bounty while in 2017, it was easy to get thousands of dollar as far as I know.
Because there are now shit tons of people who are ready to spam/work for really cheap price. Remember, the amount of rewards that are to distributed by the developers are limited, but the number of people willing to join those program is really huge. Thus, rewards are being distributed among these huge (why wouldn't the developers hire them? More people = more advertisement/promotion for them) number of people reducing rewards per people.
4209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading is a big challenge. on: July 13, 2019, 12:59:12 PM
Bitcoin trading is a big challenge. Get a fast profit, but loss can be in seconds. Huh

In the last few days Bitcoin has started to increase sharply. And most of the Altcoin top goes up. CEO of Galaxy Digital, a crypto merchant bank, Michael Novogratz, said, the price of bitcoin will increase many times over the next 18 months.

But we see today's prices are falling. Is this only temporary?

There are lots of people who give different opinion about the price of bitcoin. Even a random 10 years old kid can say that the price of bitcoin will triple within next two months. All these are just some wild guess and the predictions are made based on past price. Other unexpected factors are never considered when the predictions are made. These unexpected factors actually play a vital role when determining the price of bitcoin.
The fall seems to be just temporary. Let's just see what happens within the end of the month.
4210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trump is tweeting about Bitcoin O.O thoughts? on: July 12, 2019, 07:33:22 PM
Trump just tweeted about Bitcoin and his dislike of it. I think it's clear it wasn't him who typed it up, but what do you guys think? Crypto Twitter unite??

Tweet text:
I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air. Unregulated Crypto Assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity. .Similarly, Facebook Libra’s “virtual currency” will have little standing or dependability. If Facebook and other companies want to become a bank, they must seek a new Banking Charter and become subject to all Banking Regulations, just like other Banks, both National and International. We have only one real currency in the USA, and it is stronger than ever, both dependable and reliable. It is by far the most dominant currency anywhere in the World, and it will always stay that way. It is called the United States Dollar!

https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1149472285905940480
I am not at all surprised by those tweets made by trump. Of course he is not going to like bitcoin or other crypto currencies. The  funny part is were he emphasizes that the only real currency is the  fiat USD and is very strong.
All these tweets made by Trump is actually going to temporarily affect the price of bittcoin and other crypto currencies.
4211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can a bitcoin exchange or any altcoin transaction be cancelled due to error? on: July 12, 2019, 06:25:48 PM
can a BTC exchange be terminated before it has been affirmed, or is it that once communicated it is beyond the realm of imagination to expect to drop whenever
Once a transaction has been confirmed, there is no way you can reverse it. But, if it has 0 confirmation, you can try Replace-by-fee(RBF)/doubling spending by using higher amount of fee. But looks like you don't have access to your wallet, so it is nearly impossible for you to "cancel" the transaction.
4212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what bitcoin wallets allow transfer to personal bank accounts in USD on: July 12, 2019, 06:17:41 PM
I am interested in transferring money out of a poker site to a bitcoin wallet and subsequently to my bank account (US or foreign). What wallets are best for this purpose?
I already inquired with spectrocoin and they mentioned they don't have the option to transfer to a US bank account.
what fees should i expect to incur for such a transfer?
You can't transfer your coins from your wallet to your bank account (in fiat). What you can do is use a third party site (such as an exchange) and sell your coins. Withdraw your fiat money to your bank account. You can open up a thread over here and sell if people are willing to buy your bitcoins.
As far as I know, coinbase blocks account that are associated with gambling (not sure, I might be wrong). You can transfer your bitcoin to another wallet. And then transfer your coins from that wallet to your coinbase account.
4213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WeChat and Crypto on: July 12, 2019, 06:13:54 PM
Never heard of WeChat. Bitcoin is a global crypto currency. Just one firm/institution/company cannot define the future of crypto currencies. Like I said, never heard of WeChat and guess most of the people here are also clueless about WeChat. I can assure you, this won't hurt the price of crypto currencies. Even if it does, the impact will be temporary.
4214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will BITCOIN run out in 2140? on: July 12, 2019, 06:10:28 PM
I forgot the article that says about this.
but I remember that, reportedly Satoshi Nakamoto intentionally created a limited amount of bitcoin inventory. This is done to prevent inflation. From long-term predictions, BITCOIN has at least until the year 2140, all of which can be mined. If the number of Bitcoin continues to decrease, the price can soar in the future. how do you think about this, is it true that BITCOIN will run out in 2140?
Its only for the last bitcoin to be mined but the value of bitcoin will still remain in 2200 or in 3000 or so on as long as there are holders for it.
No, the price won't remain the same. Again, if there are holders, the price will bound to rise. After all bitcoin has been mined and the cap has been reached, scarcity will start to be created when adoption of crypto currencies take place. The amount of bitcoin is limited, but the population is not limited. The more the people starts to acquire and hold bitcoin, the less number of bitcoin will exist in the market driving more demand and causing the price of bitcoin to rise. Simple economics.
4215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Creating more bitcoin on: July 12, 2019, 02:12:33 PM
Yeah, does not matter what they say as long as majority of the people refuses the proposal. Remember, bitcoin is decentralized and there is no single entity that would decide how bitcoin will work and its structure. As long as people refuses, nothing will be changed. If majority of people agrees with the core developers, then a fork will take place splitting the chain. The old bitcoin and the chain will still exist.
4216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: taking decisions on: July 11, 2019, 09:21:57 PM
Yeah, you are right. The best thing to do is take your own decision. No matter what people say, in the end you know what is better for you and you decide your next steps. Taking peoples suggestion from the internet will only get you biased answers. They will always tend to prefer options that was or will be better for them. So, just do your own analysis and found out what is better for you.
4217  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin seems to drop faster than rises on: July 11, 2019, 08:52:09 PM
It seems to me that while BTC clearly goes up over time, the drops seem much more steep eg x 2 or 3 than the rises almost always.

Why is this?

It seems the one predictable thing about BTC.
Instead of comparing the prices in short term range, just compare the price in long term range. You will see that we are actually in the green zone. It's like the price starts to rise 4x or 5x and then after the drop when compared to previous year prices, we can see that the price is still now up almost twice.
Yeah pattern is predictable and has been repeating since the beginning.
4218  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Do you want to invest in crypto? on: July 10, 2019, 08:49:48 PM
Do you really think those price prediction actually works? Even you can give some random guess and might get lucky with your guess. When those predictions are done, various factors that might affect the price of bitcoin is neglected. If "those" experts were able to predict price properly, they wouldn't share the information with everyone but would rather invest and become rich real quick.
4219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why would you sell an altcoin right at the very bottom on: July 10, 2019, 08:47:38 PM
People start selling alt coin because they want to invest on bitcoin. They see the price of altcoin dropping when the price of bitcoin starts to rise. Even they don't want to miss the opportunity thus they even up selling their altcoin and jumps into bitcoin investment. They know they will be making more profit when they invest on bitcoin. Thus they start selling even when the price is at the very bottom. They know that they can always buy back their altcoins at even lower price.
4220  Economy / Gambling / Re: New stunning crypto gambling project on: July 10, 2019, 08:41:51 PM
With Bitcoin eyeing the ATH its like 2017 all over again with all the crypto scams that are popping up.

All over Twitter there are the donations scams... were you send 1 BTC and get back 10 BTC.
The cloud mining scams are starting again. With many elaborate schemes in contracts.
There are also scams related to trading signals. People promising you to be millionaires by following their signals.

This thread seems no different. I don't know how this guy will scam people but something is very fishy in this "project". When he says things like "I can make 40% in 24 hours" that usually indicates some kind of ponzi. I would be very vary of this.
Did you even read what he wrote in the original post before jumping into conclusion? He will be keeping the first few days of the lottery advertisement free and you will just have to post your wallet address. I am guessing his main revenue is through the advertisement. I won't be surprised if you will have to watch advertisements to get tickets.
Read what someone writes before screaming scam.
