Definitely that's true, the dominant rate is only computed from the data in the exchanges listed, but there are transactions out there that is not tallied, those transactions like OTC also involves a huge amount of money that if monitored would certainly make bitcoin dominant more higher. I just came back from work now and find out that all the altcoins are in red except few one. I did not know what is really happening and I think traders are dumping for some reason. Is there any fundamental reason why altcoins is getting dump again?
It’s high time to get used to the fact that altcoins react to any movements on the market in this way. Personally, all this doesn't surprise me at all. At the end of each week, I simply look at all the currencies and evaluate their market position. Therefore, I know well that even if 100 coins fall in price, there will almost always be a coin whose trend is upward. But in general, a constant and steady growth of altcoins can be seen only during the altseason. We rather look their long term movement, let's say one month and see how much they rise or dropped, because if we look daily, price could only go sideways and that's normal in crypto since the volatility here is very high. I can understand some traders showing their frustration because they are new here but they will start studying the trends, they'll eventually understand, it's actually all about learning and experiencing to fully understands the market trends and that will help us make the right decision. Just like BTC, it sometimes dump but always bounce back, so if people panic, whales makes money, and they love that, easy money in short term. |

Individually we have our target, for me, it's not enough but a bounce back is always good because it's a positive thing.
What I like to see with XRP is to start to recover so everyone would be happy, the current value of XRP now which is $0.27 is still very low compared to what it has previously achieve which was over $3. With this bounce back and if we are going to see some consistency, then maybe it will start satisfying the investors as not everyone of us has bought at dip, there's a lot who also bought during its peak.

Majority of us really use to think that it is best to hold these altcoins for a long term before we realized that most of these altcoins are actually best to be held for a short period of time, because most of the investors in those projects has committed big money and they will move it out as soon as they see any profit in it. So, altcoins will always rise and fall many times and may not continue to grow as we want it. The best for altcoins is to buy when they are low, and then sell when they are high, the we buy back again when they are low for many possible turnover, that will only be valid with projects that are with real working product though, because we have some projects that once they dump, they will not rise gain till maybe God knows when. We can't buy altcoins price at its lowest but as it continues to go down, we know it's already dipping and that gives us an opportunity to buy at a very cheap price. Actually last year was the worst year for altcoins, this year there's a slight growth but it's still dependent with BTC as they fall also when BTC falls. As an investor, we like to sell early as possible, but this market now does not allow us, so we have to choice but to continue to hold and wait for the right timing, if that doesn't come this year, there's next year where we will again expect, we continue to be optimistic but we don't loss our faith because when we invest, we HODL. |

Alternative cryptocurrency prices fall when bitcoin begins to rise, this is a long-established trend. A huge number of people at the time of growth are moving from alternative to bitcoin. That's not the way I see it, I feel it's the opposite, when the line moves, this means that the said event has a big money on it, most of the time I believe the reason why the line most is because of the public bets focus on one side only and the bookies has to adjust to have some balance action. I don't pay much attention on the decrease of volume, what matters is the price of the BTC.
Current trading volume now is over $13 Billion, and if you ask me, I believe that's a decent volume already, and volume in crypto even in overall is pretty unpredictable, sometimes it would suddenly increase or suddenly drop significantly, so it's not a serious matter.
BTC volume could increase 100% in just a day if there's some hype and it could go down the same rate as well anytime if the opposite happens.
