4201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did anyone bet on the sharks yet ? on: October 12, 2020, 04:11:08 PM
The article was published almost 3 months ago and since then there was no updates to it. I think they have left their bets on the sharks too  Grin
People can find anything to bet on as long as there is a probability of two things to happen.
If you would give gamblers to bet if the next pandemic would be similar to coronavirus then I am sure there would be thousands of people placing their bets on this too  Grin
I think we should let the sharks live in their peace and let them migrate themselves before there comes a movie on how gamblers made huge money betting on sharks .
4202  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: October 12, 2020, 03:22:58 PM
i have a simple question. maybe somebody can answer it. today there is 0.00000018 BTC. what was the lowest win and when was the highest win. i mean without bonus.
this project has already been around for a few years. there must be big differences in the winners
The prize you get when playing the free roll depends on BTC/dollar rate. The base reward (the reward you get when hitting 0-9885 without any bonus) is always 0.002 dollar.
So, the lowest prize (at BTC) was being awarded when BTC was at it highest price (December 2017) and the highest prize (at BTC) was being awarded when BTC was at its lowest price.

This is exactly right. I remember getting around 1000 sats per hour on FreeBitco.in. Ahh, those were the days! Smiley

But, on the other hand, I wasn't exactly unhappy when  BTC was close to $20k, and I was getting just 10 sats from the faucet.  Grin That's the nature of BTC - puts you always in a win-win situation, somehow. Smiley
I remember getting 8 or 9 Satoshis which were the lowest for me and I also remember getting somewhere 22 Satoshis which was the highest for me.
But man 1000 Satoshis per hour is actually really great for a faucet. You have lived the golden hours of faucets bud  Grin You must be really lucky for that  Grin Grin

I was just trying the demo game for dice and noticed that when I enter the amount in the Bet Amount field and then click somewhere on the free space on either sides then the amount entered goes back to zero. Is it just the way how it is or is it a bug ?

PFB the screenshot :

4205  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: it seems to getting more difficult now to analyse cryptocurrency prices on: October 11, 2020, 04:12:13 PM
It has been this way for the past few years. At least for me anyway  Tongue . The market always goes in the opposite direction.
We should be wise enough to change our strategy as per the trend. The market is unpredictable because there are many whales in it who keep manipulating the price.
Also, there are many people in the market who panic buy/sell listening upon rumors. So even that contributes in the unexpected surge in price.
4206  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your strategy in taking profit on: October 11, 2020, 04:01:18 PM
Taking profit will differ with individual traders; base on period (long term and short term), coin type etc. I dont consider it to early to know the strategy to stay beyond the bull market and rather thrive through the bear.

1. What coin are you taking your profit?
 2. If stable coin, When do you plan to shift to it?
 3. What is the strategy to pay tax?
 4. Will your Lambo come before the parabolic market if your acquire certain profit?
 5. If the cycle in the space is really 4-5 years, what is the plan to cater for the long period of bear market?
1. BTC and ETH are my coins for the long run. I did had some more altcoins but eventually sold them all since these 2 best coins are enough to trade.
3. I don't know. My annual income doesn't fall in the taxable bracket yet but I will pay the taxes when it does. Grin
4. Never invested so much that I get a Lambo upon selling all my assets. I only invest that I can afford to lose and I seriously can't afford to lose as much as a lambo.
5. HOLD. This is the best strategy working very well in every situation.
4207  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My speculation regarding Bitcoin will hit... on: October 11, 2020, 02:41:01 PM
My speculation regarding Bitcoin will hit...

My speculation regarding Bitcoin that it will hit $1800 in near future, I don't know when but it can touch to this line in the bottom, what do you think?
I guess you missed to add another zero the speculation. With the current growth rate I think that bitcoin will only further increase in price.
Also, if you are making a speculation then you should also share on what basis you are making the prediction.
If you have some new or some analysis then you should have shared that and if you don't have those then your speculation will be of no importance.
4208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sixty Coinbase employees take buyout offer after no politics at work rule on: October 10, 2020, 02:34:25 PM
So a few weeks ago Brian Armstrong, CEO of CoinBase put out a "no politics at work memo"
If you did not like it you could take a 4 to 6 month buyout and leave. As of now it looks like 60+ people or 5% +/- a bit of their workforce took it.

I think it's good. Work is for work, politics is for the bar after work so to speak.

But, it's a slippery slope. After no politics do you ban the Star Wars vs. Star Trek discussions. Ford vs Dodge? IPA vs Dark Beer?

Some articles:
https://www.coindesk.com/coinbase-dan-yoo
https://arstechnica.com/cars/2020/10/sixty-coinbase-employees-take-buyout-offer-over-no-politics-rule/

-Dave

Wooh , so people are actually accepting that they would rather prefer talking about politics while at work.
This is new to me. I have seen people talking about politics while at work but if such a situation would occur then they would rather keep shut and work.
People come to work so that they could earn money and fulfill their expense to have a good living but these people seem to have a different perspective I guess.
It's a good thing that coinbase did and this shows that their company believes more towards productiveness.
4209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 12 years and no country has approved Bitcoin ?? on: October 10, 2020, 02:25:56 PM
:)Bitcoin was launched in 2007. It's 12 years and still no country has approved Bitcoin ??   Huh

and in 2018, 2nd richest man "Warren Buffet" said "bitcoin will end up badly" Smiley
Buddy, you seem to have a wrong perception about bitcoin. Bitcoin was created so that the Governments and Banks cannot control our money.
It should be us to control our money. Bitcoin is serving it's purpose very well and it does not need any approval from any country.
There are people who accept bitcoin and provide their services and there are merchants who accept bitcoin.

Also, I would recommend you to read the bitcoin whitepaper as you will get more insights and a better understanding about bitcoin.

4210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is Addictive...Pay Attention to your Gambling Habit!!! on: October 10, 2020, 02:18:25 PM
I have tried taking breaks myself. It doesn't work and makes the mind restless. Gambling is like a drug. The moment you leave gambling, you become calm initially, and then slowly the temptation builds up. It grows to the point when you just can't stop yourself anymore. Intense self determination, and intense discipline can help. Because our brains have already adopted to use gambling as an escape option, hence, temporarily it might help to take a break. But to leave the habit completely, one needs to totally give up on gambling consciously.
Limiting ourself to something really addictive is indeed a tough task. I know quitting gambling can be really hard but it isn't impossible.
Trust me, meditation can really help here since it improves our control over our mind and body. We need to control our mind from gambling frequently.
Meditation has solved many problems in my life as it connects our mind and body and it will surely help you improving your self discipline.
4211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites accepting bets from countries where gambling is illegal. on: October 10, 2020, 02:02:45 PM
Hi guys, this could be a great discussion for us to get some tips to help minimize the risk as although we are aware that our favorite gambling sites does not allow certain countries to use the site and yet we are still persisting to gamble. Personally, I don't read all the TOS in most sites I'm using as they didn't require a KYC so it's useless read all that when I believe I'm not covered since they will not know my real identity or where I am living.

However, lately, I've seen some complaints from user on account getting blocked or funds got frozen because such user belongs to a certain country where listed in the site not allowed to gamble, so I would like to hear your thoughts on how to deal with this kind of possibility that could happen to us since we still gamble despite knowing we are discourage not to.

To my fellow gambles, don't be shy to share your opinion, advises and experience so everyone will be aware.
The best solution to this problem would be to create a barrier on the site which would prevent those people who are from such countries where gambling is illegal.
Also, putting a disclaimer on the register form would be essential which says that using VPNs or IP addresses to mask your IP to create an account is against their policies and might lead to account getting frozen. This would warn the users to not use any methods which would mask their IP. Hence the users' original IP address will be fetched and the sites could then use their geo location to find out if they belong to any country where gambling is banned. If the users are from such countries they will not be able to create an account anyway since they would have already put a barrier on their site to prevent them creating an account.

Wow so many experts here ? Smiley
How do you know about BTC so much?
what is the main source of knowledge?
are you guys all programmers and it tech guys? Roll Eyes
This forum itself is the main source of knowledge but that is not the only thing. We must know how to use this forum to grow our knowledge more.
This forum has so much of information already that we don't have the need to look for anything anywhere.
Also, being a programmer would be a benefit, we don't have to be a programmer to know about bitcoin. We can know about bitcoin just by reading the articles which are already present on this forum.
4215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money from bank hacks rarely gets laundered through cryptocurrencies on: October 09, 2020, 05:22:59 PM
That's quite appropriate because cash cannot be easily tracked and though it is a risky job to launder money through cash, once done there's no tracing back to it unlike cryptocurrencies where everything can be traced back to you.Though there are alternate methods to use so that the tracing becomes very difficult it still proves that the traditional method can launder money easily.
This might be true because money launderers can use fiat money anywhere they want but there are only a limited options available if you hold large amount of crypto.
It will take a while before we can withdraw a huge amount from crypto to fiat since banks keep tracking large amounts.
4216  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do they use our computers for CPU mining? on: October 09, 2020, 05:01:11 PM
Low end CPUs generally get high temperature quicker.

This is not correct, lower end CPUs have smaller clock speeds and more powerful CPUs have higher clock speeds and the higher the speed, the hotter the processor gets. It's basic thermodynamics.

CPUs have 3 or 4 built-in speed "levels" they switch between to adjust the clock rate, they don't run at arbitrary speeds in their range.

They also have a turbo mode that temporarily increases the clock speed to a higher limit until the processor gets very hot. This is what happens if you see 100% CPU usage.

Agreed with rest of the stuff but the bolded part above is still a concern. Low end CPUs still heats up quickly because the CPU usage gets high faster than high end CPUs.
Example : Playing a heavy game on a low end processor will heat up the machine faster than playing the same game on a high end processor.

I remember playing GTA vice city on my low end desktop many years back and the CPU used to get freaking hot quickly whereas even if we play GTA V on a high end CPU these days doesn't heat up the CPU that much.
4217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: THE MOST PAINFUL DAY IN MY BETTING CAREER on: October 09, 2020, 04:28:55 PM
We all know how that must feel because at some point in life we all had placed a bet on something. When we really wish for something to happen from the core of our heart, it's that time when bad luck strikes our heart and turns it into million pieces. But we must realize that it's not the end of the world. Though it will hurt us the most we must learn to move on and get back on our feet.
I am happy that the OP moved on from that incident and earned more than that later. This is what we all must do.
Thank you for creating this thread.
4218  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof of pure luck on: October 09, 2020, 04:07:54 PM
Thanks for the information and detailed explanation. AFAIK, it is possible to change player seed on many gambling platforms and this should increase randomness.
~snip
That is why gamblers prefer to bet on lucky numbers aka date of birth, wedding day, etc. Btw, is it possible to achieve 100% authentic randomness?
It shouldn't be that hard to achieve 100% randomness since there are many built-in functions and libraries that programmers can use to generate random numbers.
Collaborating few of the random output to create a string of random of numbers should not be that difficult. But if all the gambling sites start using this then they might not be able to generate profits out of their site. This is risky for their business which is why many gambling sites fake their data so that their users only win a limited number of times.
4219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are people giving up on Bitcoin too quickly? on: October 08, 2020, 04:46:28 PM
The recent bear trend (2018 - 2020) was the longest one and many people thought that this is the end of bitcoin.
Many people were criticising bitcoin for falling so low in price. Even then there were many people in this forum who truly believed in bitcoin.
And here we are today still standing with bitcoin. Those who criticised bitcoin back then are gone selling their bitcoins for cheaper price and those who believed in it are holding their bitcoins.
People must understand that it's not about price but the technology and the faith that people have in bitcoin to revolutionize the world.
This is what unites us all and this is what will develop the future of this world.
