4201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: April 28, 2020, 05:46:13 PM
Its not a life ban, he might get chance in PSL after 3 years. It happened before with the other player in national team so yeah there is some possibility, unless PCB pass a new law (They are working on it, i suppose)... Good/bad Performance after ban is another discussion though.

From what I have heard, he can't even play club cricket during these 3 years. He can't take up any coaching assignments as well. Under such circumstances I don't expect him to remain focused in cricket. My opinion is that the PCB could have banned him from PSL and the national team, but could have allowed him to represent the domestic team (he plays for Central Punjab?).
4202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 90% Of Project Bounties Are Scams on: April 28, 2020, 05:40:42 PM
What should we called projects that are listed and trading on exchanges that failed to distribute to bounty hunters? Scam too? it's really not easy to become a bounty hunter, payment is not guaranteed

Well.. there are a few such projects. And know what... these guys will always be having some stupid excuse for doing that. Sometimes they will make KYC mandatory at the end, despite not mentioning about it in the beginning. And in some cases, they may delay the payment by a few months saying that it is being done in order to prevent the dumping of tokens by the bounty hunters.
4203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 28, 2020, 05:34:14 PM
Don't you think that cricket is not as risky as some of the other sports? Playing cricket involves a bare minimum body contact between the players. The contact is made between the bat and ball, and not with the human body. Compare this to the other sports, such as Football, boxing, basketball.etc. I guess we can play cricket even now, provided that the players adhere to social distancing norms.  Grin
I think Cricket is the riskiest sport and Tennis and Table tennis being the least. Did you forget that the bowlers use saliva (the major carrier of the virus) to shine the ball and the fielder has to field saliva soaked ball Roll Eyes I know that they looking at the possibility of replacing it with artificial substances to shine the ball, but that's not going to stop their habit  Tongue Maybe we should give gloves to all fielders. Hmm... Interesting Baseball is literally safer than cricket.
Thinking of which athletic games like javelin throw, long jump, high jump etc are not risky at all. They don't attract much crowd and there is social distancing by default.

Well.. I can't agree with you. This disgusting habit of applying saliva and sweat to the cricket ball is limited to a few bowlers. The vast majority don't need these dirty tricks to swing the ball. And also, you have talked about long jump, triple jump.etc. What you forgot here is that the jumping pit remains the same for all the athletes and there is a great chance of the infection spreading from there.
4204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Keep your loss at an acceptable level on: April 28, 2020, 05:28:52 PM
Well... if you want to keep your losses to a bare minimum level, then the only solution is to adhere to strict stop loss levels. Actually it is the same strategy which is applicable with stock trading. The major difference between stock trading and cryptocurrency trading is that the coins are much more volatile and there can be considerable spread across various exchanges for the same pair.
4205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 28, 2020, 05:20:15 PM
Chines in cricket this could be very interesting but not good because my prediction is Chines could be not good in cricket most of peoples in China will not like this sport because its not for them. Wink Cheesy Huh

China do have national cricket teams (both for men/women, as well as for various age groups) and therefore your statement is not true. But the popularity is near zero there. In countries such as China, cricket is being regarded as a sport which is limited to the Commonwealth countries. This attitude needs to change. Unfortunately, the ICC is not putting much effort in this regard.
4206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to prepare for long term HODL on: April 28, 2020, 05:14:08 PM
Please define "long term HODL". When you talk about "long term", how many years do you have in your mind? I am sure that none of the users would be keeping their coins for eternity. At some point of time, all of us will be converting our coins and tokens to fiat cash, or Bitcoin. So please specify the threshold, which would qualify for "long term" in your opinion.
4207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: April 28, 2020, 05:08:12 PM
I want opinion from users about two major factors, which can have an impact on the outcome of the elections. Please help me with these, as I am planning to make a bet in favor of Biden.

1. If the COVID 19 outbreak remains a major issue during the elections in November, which candidate is going to get hurt as a result of it? Will it negatively impact Biden, or will it be more damaging for Trump? Which one may get hurt, if the turnout dips?

2. If the outbreak is having a disproportionate impact on the inner city areas mostly inhabited by the minorities, will that have a negative impact on Biden? If the elderly population is more vulnerable to COVID 19, will that put Trump in trouble? Elderly population in the US is overwhelmingly white non-Hispanic, and if they stay at home, then Trump's chances may dim.
4208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 27, 2020, 07:10:50 PM
~snip
I am not sure about this, but I don't think that this is true. Back then (in 1983), the video cameras used to be giant-sized equipment operating on film rolls. And since BBC had the right to broadcast the matches, others were not allowed to record them. There were a few journalists who were allowed to click a few pictures, but that was it. And also, in case someone had recorded that match, then definitely it would have appeared in some of the video streaming sites. It has been 37 years!!!
It is true that professional cameras were huge and none captured the match using a professional camera but there were reports that audience captured the match and how much video is available is not clear and it has been 37 years and you cannot expect the video to be uploaded just like that, there are many vintage sporting videos that are not yet uploaded in streaming sites but that does not mean that they are not available Wink.

Hmm.. if your claim is true, then there is a good chance that the footage was lost. Digital video cameras came in to existence only in 1993 (Ampex DCT). Before that, the digital cameras could only capture pictures. And for capturing video, you had to depend upon the old school cameras, which used film rolls. But I just hope that this footage is preserved somewhere. It means a lot for Indians.
4209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to get some Ethereum? on: April 27, 2020, 06:33:37 PM
Keep in mind the upcoming block reward halving event was well. Despite being in existence for over 6 years, even now the exchange rate of Ethereum is heavily linked to that of Bitcoin. So if Bitcoin gets a big boost as a result of the halving event, then we can expect a similar spike with Ethereum as well. That said, I am not having a good feeling about the halving this time. The market looks dull now.
4210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: April 27, 2020, 06:23:17 PM
Trump is ahead of Biden, but he is actually behind the Democrats. There is still a little bit more uncertainty about who the democratic nominee will be, while Trump is more or less a a lock to be republican nominee and this reflects in the "Next President" market. The winning party market gives a clearer picture:

Source: https://orbitexch.com/customer/sport/market/1.128988348

OK. I didn't considered that fact. There is some(?) uncertainty about the Dem nominee. But still, the difference is very small. I would have expected a larger gap. 1.99 vs 1.96 doesn't represent the current voting preferences, I'm afraid.

The betting markets include a lot of speculation about the democratic nominee imo. The betting public is not very confident in Biden beating Trump (so am I), but they are very confident in any other nominee than Biden beating Trump.

I don't understand. Does this mean that they don't believe in these opinion polls? Even agencies such as Fox News and Rasmussen Reports are indicating that Trump is trailing Biden by considerable margin.

And on top, the betting markets don't forget. Trump shocked the markets 4 years ago and lots of people still have this in mind. Say what you want about Trump, but he is a good campaigner, while Biden is not.

Not denying what happened in 2016. Back then, the polls failed to measure the silent undercurrents. But the big question is, are they doing just the opposite now, by over-predicting the support for Trump?

I am yet to find a calculation, where Trump receives 270 electoral votes. I have made my calculations and right now Trump is assured of 163 electoral votes (after including TX). Here are the states which I consider leaning towards Trump: AK, LA, MS, MT, UT, IN, MO, SC, TX, ID, WY, ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, AR, AL, TN, KY and WV.

He needs a further 107 from the tossup states. I can give FL, GA to him (although Biden is currently ahead in FL as per the latest polls). That gives 208 for Trump and he still needs 62.

OK.. I can give IA (6 votes) and OH (18 votes) as well. Even now, Trump is at 232, needing another 38 votes. To be honest, I don't think that he has any realistic chance of winning any of the remaining tossup states.

These are the tossups that are remaining:

NV - 6 votes
AZ - 11
NM - 5
CO - 9
MN - 10
WI - 10
MI - 16
PA - 20
VA - 13
NC - 15
NH - 4
ME - 4

4211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Takes Place Amidst Pandemic on: April 27, 2020, 06:04:43 PM
This is really pathetic. The promoters are exploiting the helplessness of the boxers. Most of those who would agree to fight will be the ones facing acute financial crunch. Else who will take this suicidal step? Check the case with Belarus. They went ahead with the football league, after ignoring the advice from the medical experts. Now they have one of the fastest spreading COVID epidemics in the world.
4212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties explanation and the reasons why many project is failed on: April 27, 2020, 05:55:23 PM
To be fair dude, a real account with thousands of followers (a.k.a legit paid shill) will charge you real $$$, and it's expensive. If the project doesn't have real $$$ to spend and only promised to give the only-God-knows-the-price token, you will expect fake accounts with fake followers. As simple as that Smiley

LOL... can't put it any better than these. The promoters want everything for free and they want the quality as well. Things don't go on like that. If you want quality, then you need to pay. If I have a few thousand real followers, then I'll refuse any bounty campaign which ask me to post about the project 10 times a week. That is unless, they are willing to pay me a few hundred bucks per month.
4213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 27, 2020, 05:49:14 PM
If China starts playing cricket then i can imagine a cricketing world without BCCI. But then BCCI and Chinese board make a new deal and cut out the ICC or rest of the world. After all this, will bitch about PIG-2 ( China-India) instead of PIG-3.

LOL... the Chinese government give funds only for Olympic sports. And that is the reason some of the smaller cricket boards were angry at the ICC's decision to not to try for the Olympic games. I think that this is the case all around the world. Government grants are allotted only to those sports, which feature in the Olympic games.

Anyway, I heard that the Chinese board got some funds from the government, after cricket was included in the Asian Games.
4214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: April 27, 2020, 05:42:20 PM
Yes, you are right. I have ample proof of these exchanges ,so no doubt. Such exchanges are involved in various shady works .Those of you who are thinking of investing in the future will certainly be wary of these exchanges .

First of all, there are too many exchanges around. But it is expected, with a completely decentralized asset such as cryptocurrency. When we have so many exchanges, it is quite natural that at least some of them will be involved in shady activities. But my guess is that as the market gets more and more matured, we will be witnessing a decline in the number of fake exchanges.
4215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 27, 2020, 05:36:16 PM
Any place where population is dense and if people stay very close to each other this virus would be spreading then be it whichever part of the world it becomes difficult to stop it. Prevention is better than cure that is the reason may countries have lock down so that people stay indoors and follow the rules. Cricket like other things are also effected during such time.

Don't you think that cricket is not as risky as some of the other sports? Playing cricket involves a bare minimum body contact between the players. 4216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How much have you earned in one year on: April 27, 2020, 05:30:19 PM
Well... I first entered the world of cryptocurrency in 2017. Initially, the earnings were not that big. I think my biggest reward from a single bounty campaign was the $50 that I got from Mozo project. I used to take part in the social media bounties, and the rewards for that are much lower than the signature bounties. Now I am taking part in signature campaigns which pay Bitcoin. It is still ongoing, so I can't comment about the revenues. But I would say that I'm satisfied with it.
4217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 27, 2020, 05:24:08 PM
During that period no one was willing to broadcast the match as the matches are too long and on that particular day BBC was having a strike and so is the reason the match was not recorded or broadcasted by the media but the video is recorded by a private individual and was demanding huge amount during that time and after that no idea what happened to that, during that period cricket was not that big and there was not much money involved.

4218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounties explanation and the reasons why many project is failed on: April 27, 2020, 05:18:23 PM
Yet another thread which demonizes the bounty hunters. I don't want to say too much.... but bounty hunters have become the most convenient scapegoats. If a bounty project fails, then in 99% of the cases the reason is because the idea was not very good, or because the promoters were not working hard enough. Bounty hunters can popularize a project only if the fundamentals are strong.
4219  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: April 27, 2020, 05:12:15 PM
I really don't understand the betting odds. How can Trump be ahead of Biden? Trump needs to win states such Pennsylvania, Virginia, Nevada.etc and he is far behind in the opinion polls for these states. I made my own calculations on the path to 270 electoral votes, and to be honest I can't find a way for Trump to win this election. Either I am missing something, or the betting sides are making a huge mistake.

And here are some recent polls for POTUS 2020:

Texas: Trump +5
NY: Biden +36
Florida: Biden +3 (Fox News)
Pennsylvania: Biden +6
4220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IEOs from binance not worth holding ? on: April 27, 2020, 05:03:31 PM
Earlier I had a feeling that Binance used to carefully screen whatever IEOs they list in their platform. But looking at the few recent IEOs, I am forced to say otherwise. Most of the projects that get listed nowadays in Binance doesn't have solid fundamentals. I understand that revenues are important, but the exchange is tarnishing its own reputation by allowing such projects.
