TheQuin basically told him to gtfo.

~"Somebody has to lose so somebody else can win."

He wagered so he can double, triple his stack. If he managed to succeed this, you wouldn't heard of him again and the money he won would come from someone else's pocket.

Something similar just happened instead. Only the opposite direction.

Taking a bit longer to look at all his accounts he had won several times before. He started with 6 BTC and was already over 0.5 up before he lost it all. The "I didn't know what I was doing" lines are all a lie.

Ah, so it's something different from the standard "I referred 50 instances of myself to farm the faucet, suddenly I blacked out and the next day I got banned" story Grin

Well, actually it's possible to find deleted posts on https://loyce.club/archive/posts/, but now I'm on mobile and it would be a bit difficult to search for it.

Me too, guess we'll just wait until someone else spoonfeeds us Grin

Unfortunately the topic/ post has been nuked. Looks like we would never find out.

It will be very hard for small players to win this daily prize as I'm thinking you'll need at least a few Bitcoins to bet big which will push up the numbers and have a chance at winning. As we can see each day that its the same people winning all the time and that also goes for the monthly prizes so unless you have a lot of Bitcoins or get very lucky there is no chance for us smaller guys at winning.

Of course, that's only for those highrollers because they deserve some comp after spending so much.

We peasants just hope for the weekly jackpot Grin
4225  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you tell me the details of a good quality mask? on: July 22, 2020, 03:53:18 PM
actually there are many designs of kn95 and there are also many fake designs.

this is why many People are still using surgical mask as it was more safer and cheaper.
I only use some surgical as long as with tissue inside.

Speaking of tissue, I saw a life hack which claims to prolong the reusability of a mask by inserting a piece of tissue between your mouth and the mask.
4226  Other / Off-topic / Re: what is the demand for newly mined bitcoins? on: July 22, 2020, 02:54:14 PM

Because a lot of old bitcoins have criminal transaction history, not all exchangers accept such coins.

How would they go through tens or even hundreds of thousands of transactions a day just to find those "stained" ones? Unless there are recent hack cases, I doubt they would screen through each deposit.
4227  Other / Meta / Re: Why was my loan request in LENDING deleted? on: July 22, 2020, 02:33:35 PM
This has been suggested multiple times and would no doubt be helpful in certain situations, but it's not possible on the current SMF version the forum uses, and can only be implemented on updated software.
This could function in epochtalk when it's finally launched.

It's not? Because if the user receives a notification whenever the message gets deleted, I assume the same would apply if a thread gets nuked too.
4228  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you tell me the details of a good quality mask? on: July 22, 2020, 01:39:42 PM
I bought KN95 as I've heard it's a good mask but after receiving the actual mask, I've seen that there's an allowance in the middle of it.

I went back to surgical mask, it's also cheap and I've bought a box I guess around $4 for 50 pcs. I can't remember.

No matter how secure a mask is, if the person touches it with bare hands or even mishandles it, the whole purpose is defeated. Definitely a challenge when you're frequently using public transport Grin

The mods should seriously specify a reason instead of simply deleting threads and making us find out on our own. Just saying.

Well said in simple terms and explanation. Unfortunately, I need all the text in this one but, I'll experiment them soon. Very helpful.

Is the text very lengthy? If it's from an individual, it's still acceptable but the moment it encompasses every previous member that quoted one another, then we'll have another troublesome pyramid.

After all, we could just click on the quote hyperlink and it'd bring us to that post. So the code below to do all the magic work is based on your post #3.
Code:

4231  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malicious email question on: July 22, 2020, 03:11:56 AM
I remember an exploit that executed code just by looking at the email. If you are looking at it from a browser, its a browser flaw. If it was a a standalone email client, it was the client flaw.

Best client is the one that doesn't interpret html at all, that only displays text and doesn't try to interpret anything, that won't let you click at links either. Something like mutt Cheesy

So yeah, it can get worse. MUCH worse. It depends a lot in what software you use, and the operating system.

There were also exploits involving the rendering of images, so just by trying to look at the attached image using the wrong OS, was enough. Its both funny and sad to see some of those returning again in Android and iOS.

Better switch to Free and Open Source software ASAP, it reduces the chances.

I believed that's some email pixel. Difficult to spot with the naked eye since it's a 1 x 1 but it tracks our behavior.
4232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if you knew Huobi's private key? on: July 22, 2020, 02:12:00 AM

The word is "almost", not always, and I hope you have read the whole context of my comment that I'm talking about the Huobi's wallet not with any random guy's wallet.
I'm totally aware about the scam and hack happening in crypto space, but don't you assume when someone hacks into Huobi's wallet and they just leave it at ease without going after the hackers? Do you think they dont do everything in their power to retrieve and track the hacker? They are a multimillionaire company, they can do what's impossible for an average person.
But, then again these are just scenario and far from happening.

I gotcha. Basically the funds have to go out from Huobi's wallet to some address.

But then there are mixers out there. Distributed to even more different addresses. Maybe some @ Binance, Okex, etc... to not trigger the alarm. Since KYC is usually required for large(r) trade volumes, the hacker(s) might just conduct smaller transactions or just cashout anonymously.

I'm not a hacker myself so who knows, they might have more ways to avoid capture.

Of course the company will do its best to prevent this from happening, but it's an interesting food for thought.
4233  Other / Meta / Re: Wall of fame / shame. Shit posts so bad that they are actually funny on: July 22, 2020, 02:05:54 AM

What in the twisted Tower of Babel is this nonsense? The thread is for "Roobet" -- I think they misread it as "robot" and decided it to be some sort of bot-aided gambling website. Not that their post has anything to do with... anything.

But really, that guy (or gal) has been around for a while now. They are as shameless and hopeless as they come, but for some reason I find myself rooting for them. Everything they do is utterly embarrassing to themselves and previous generations of their family, and its really hard to watch them "at work" sometimes, yet I wish them all the best anyway.

There's Subbir too from the same campaign. Whoever who reads their posts and tries to comprehend, God bless their soul.
4234  Other / Off-topic / Re: What brand of deodorant do you use? on: July 21, 2020, 03:54:15 PM
I haven't tried colognes for my armpits.

But I'd say that I'll stick to the natural deodorant and won't go for commercial deodorants. I have bad experience. Instead of helping my armpits to become better, I got a side effect.  Sad

Oh, I actually meant these type

Do you mean your skin will break out after using those chemical deodorants?
4235  Other / Off-topic / Re: What brand of deodorant do you use? on: July 21, 2020, 05:31:22 AM
The commercial brands didn't do good to my underarm. I'm now using those natural and native deodorants that doesn't contain any chemical.

They have no brand.

Honestly I wouldn't want those chemicals sticking inside my sweaty armpits since they're super absorbent. I ditched those roll-the-ball kinds after high school.

Go with colognes, they're much better Smiley
4236  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave browser hijacking links and affiliate codes! on: July 21, 2020, 03:06:30 AM
I don’t want to open a new topic, but a couple of days ago I started getting notifications from my AV that Brave wants access to my webcam access, but there was no reason for that. I checked to see if anyone else had similar experiences and found some more cases where users are wondering what this is all about. Each browser has options where you can manage web or mic access, so I suggest that all those who use Brave check if this permission is turned on.

More info about issue -> https://community.brave.com/t/can-anyone-explain-why-brave-desktop-for-win-10-keeps-trying-to-access-my-webcam/115286

Must be those BATs we have received, now they want NUDEs in return.

Jokes aside, I think the best way to avoid these things, aside from Brave is to cover the webcam.
4237  Other / Off-topic / Re: Malicious email question on: July 21, 2020, 03:03:32 AM
In my country a hacker hacked someone's bank account and withdraw all the money. He sent a phishing email to him and he clicked it. Just a link. Nothing else. No forms.

Can he really do anything by visiting a URL? Even if it's a blacklisted link. What's the worst thing that can happen?

Can a program run into your computer by simply clicking a link?

Yes, however the machine has to be infected prior. In other words, if your system is healthy, merely visiting an infected link won't do anything unless you allow some dodgy plugin or extension to execute, or open a malicious file through drive-by download.

For phishing, if the person managed to submit his or her personal details on a fake login page, it's pretty much game over unless a quick password change across affected sites is acted on.
4238  Other / Meta / Re: This member has weird stats. on: July 21, 2020, 02:59:33 AM

How does a 2015 account become a Legendary rank by default without the required activity?

It was clear to me that forum rank is influenced by activity and merit. Activity depends on the number of posts done every 14 days. His rank became legendary because of his old posts. If he deleted them, it's as if he never made those posts in the first place. Therefore, his rank coming back to Member is justified. Correct me if I am wrong.

IINM, Merits weren't existent back then until a few years ago. Members could become Legen... wait for it... dary solely from their Activity.

Yea, getting that is almost impossible.  Roll Eyes

I thought it was impossible until I read through the thread that showed what people are winning.. (cannot find it now... You should post a link to that thread in this thread at the first post.)

Have we done the math on this one... to see what the chance is to hit 10000 with all the possible number combinations? Also, why is there such a big difference between the reward of 0.02 for 10000 and the reward of 0.002 for 9998-9999 ? (We talking 2 numbers)  Roll Eyes

Well, we only have a maximum of 24 rolls a day so we could do so much. But there were times I played on multiplier and managed to get 10,000. I believe the tiered rewards from the free roll are pretty much skewed in probability (i.e. 0 - 9885 is like over 95%), or else the site would close down pretty quickly. Hence the reward discrepancies Grin

Recently TheUltraElite posted he won $200 way back in 2016 and is still keeping it. It's on page 649.

4240  Other / Off-topic / Re: Eating expired meats on: July 21, 2020, 02:11:03 AM

Yeah mate and the meat will only get bad when we took off the freezer and after cooling down then will bring back to freezer again.

I've eaten months-old fish left in the freezer before, nothing happened.

In the end, just came out as poo-poo.
