4221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Which coin I can mine with 2GB GPU ? on: June 09, 2021, 03:19:23 PM
I am new to mining so wanted to do RND on how to mine and what to mine, before investing more money...
Basically I bought GT 710 DDR5 2GB graphic card and dont know which coin is minable with it or which software to use for mining those coins...

any information is much appreciated, thanks
Forget about mining with this graphics card. This video card is installed in office computers for tasks such as watching videos or for applications that use DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5.
People have already written you the most minimal possible video card for mining, but with your knowledge, study this resource first.

4222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia CMP cards on: June 09, 2021, 03:11:18 PM
I can't find CMP cards anywhere friend it's like they are even more scarce than other Nvidia cards e.g rtx2080, just go to amazon.com and try searching for a CMP Nvidia card the results won't bring you anything than normal gtx1660, rtx2080 etc
Because these video cards were sold out in large batches before the start of their production.
Take any analogs I wrote about if you want to mine now.
CMP video cards have a very small guarantee, do not have a video output, and their price is no less than their counterparts for gamers.

"WHEN'S IT SHIPPING?
~2021/22
This upgrade represents the official switch to proof-of-stake consensus. This eliminates the need for energy-intensive mining, and instead secures the network using staked ether. A truly exciting step in realizing the Eth2 vision – more scalability, security, and sustainability."

Look for new information after the London hard fork
4224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need your advice on: June 09, 2021, 02:53:50 PM
If you have free electricity, then try building a farm on more modern video cards. RTX 3070 and higher. These video cards are excellent for mining on other algorithms and you will have a huge advantage over AMD video cards when Ethereum changes the algorithm. I read that it will be this year.
I would not buy the PX 5700 now
4225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RTX 3070 TI Drivers on: June 09, 2021, 02:48:45 PM
Does anyone have any idea how i can find driver for this card. I got it today but there no info for driver everywere ive looked.

TNX in advance. It is gigabyte gaming 3070 ti if that means anything
Use hive OS, this system will install the necessary drivers by itself. If you have Windows, then install the drivers from the 3080 video card, and then try to manually install the drivers from the same folder.
And wait 1 day for the drivers to be available for download on the official website.
How much did you pay for the video card?
4226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to Mine Monero Coin – Monero Mining Pools 2021 on: June 09, 2021, 02:44:01 PM
All Monero pools can be found on this site, as well as see the statistics of each pool
https://miningpoolstats.stream/monero
Benchmarks
https://monerobenchmarks.info/
Now for video cards, you can find more tailored algorithms for mining, and it is better to mine Monero on processors.

4227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Comparing HDD mining to GPU mining - Manufacturing Demolition is about Same-Same on: June 07, 2021, 06:59:55 PM
A video card can mine hundreds or thousands of coins, and several coins can be mined on hard drives.
The hashrate of the CHIA grows by 10-20% per week and the profit of miners falls by the same amount.
Although, on the other hand, Ethereum will also stop being mined soon, so I don't know where it will be good after six months
4228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: mining on an average pc on: June 07, 2021, 06:55:08 PM
Hello everyone.  Recently I thought about the possibility of mining on a personal pc.  What cryptocurrencies does it make sense / profitable to mine on a mid-range pc?  Will it kill the computer?
For mining, you need a 2-core processor and 3 gigabytes of memory (but 4 is better). This configuration is enough to make an Ethereum mining farm.
I assembled a farm on an old motherboard on an Am2 socket with DDR 2 memory because I got it for free. BUT the farm did not work for long, and the components had to be replaced.

For ETH you don't need 2 core, I used single core for years. Works great, only issue is that it takes forever to load, especially on Windows 10. And the setup to install OS takes a very long time. However single core works fine when mining.

For RAM you will need at least >5GB or more due to the large DAG. With windows it won't work if there is less system ram than DAG filesize. With Ubunutu you can get away with using less RAM. I used 2GB before when the DAG was almsot 4GB and didn't get any issues.

Most important is the GPU. Which you can't really buy right now unless you overpay.

Absolutely wrong. I have many windows10 rigs with 2 or 4 gb and 6 to 13 gpu´s and i can mine without any problem. System Ram has nothing to do with the DAG!
With 2GB of RAM, I was having trouble changing the epoch. Better to use at least 3 GB
4229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nvidia CMP cards on: June 05, 2021, 12:29:00 PM
Are Nvidia CMP cards as scarce as normal NVIDIA cards? I was looking through minerstat calculator and I saw this CMP cards are good for mining, anyone using on of these cards for mining?
CMP 30 HX= RTX 1660S
The CMP 30 HX does not have a video output and the manufacturers tried to make these video cards impossible to use in games, like the old models, such as P 106, etc.
CMP 40 HX, CMP 50 HX are reworked RTX 2060 and 2080 graphics cards
4230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU miners still buying cards? on: June 05, 2021, 12:21:46 PM
A RTX3080Ti doing 65MH for ETH mining sucks, I won't be buying this cards if this is all they can do, the normal 3080 and 3070 are lot better but if I could get at MSRP price then no worries lol 🤣 yea I'm in
Ethereum may change the algorithm next year.

To progpow?  I though the algo change was dead?
All GPU miners would be happy if Ethereum changed their algorithm to progpow.
Hardfork London, which will be in about 50 days, will be the last preparation for the change to the POS algorithm
After that, due to eip 1559, miners will have a decrease in profit, because part of the commissions will be burned.
4231  Other / Archival / Re: Are there risks with GPU mining? 144% roi on: June 05, 2021, 12:16:29 PM
Well it could shift as low as 1 usd a card or move to 20 usd a card. Maybe 25 a day.

It is at 7 a card.

power cost is 6-7 kwatts

so 30 cent power is 2.10 a card
and 3 cent power is 21 cents a card.

Obvious if you have 3 cent power your risk is very low and if you have 30 cent power your risk is high.

I can tell you dropping to 1 dollar a day for a 3080 in earnings is possible.
While Ethereum can be mined on video cards, we are unlikely to see such a profit from RTX 3080. It's great that the London hard fork has been postponed to a later time.
Are you saving up stablecoins to buy good graphics cards when mining isn't very profitable?
In my country, electricity costs 3-4 cents, so I will be updating my graphics cards.
Will you participate in Ethereum POS Mining?
4232  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why China shut down mining farm? Carbon Emission. on: June 04, 2021, 07:58:05 PM
I think this is a new deception. The production of green energy equipment requires electricity. Disposing of this equipment is also harmful to the environment.<snip>
So what? Do you have a better solution for producing energy?
Every single thing people and animals do has environmental repercussions so your point is what?... Sterilize the planet to 'save it' from Life?
I believe that you need to strive for maximum efficiency for companies that generate electricity.
If we build plants for the production of green electricity and reduce the efficiency of combined heat and power plants, then we harm the environment, because the amount of emissions is not greatly reduced. Green energy is good, but you don't need to extract it where there is a surplus of generated electricity

How is mining a job? You don't want to do anything and earn money? Lol is mining working under a boss or company? Do you have to answer Yes sir to someone to get paid? You are the boss of yourself and you are the one to decide how much you will be earning everyday, mining is far marginal to job
I don't understand your sarcasm. Of course you don’t have to say "Yes sir" and show up for work at 8:00.
But you need to solve a lot of problems in setting up, maintaining, renting and the main problem - the safety of your equipment.
Video cards are very expensive, and any information that you have a lot of video cards may become known to thieves or scammers.

Use dbixmine.pro pool
I don't understand why mine this half-dead coin. Better mine Ethereum or Ethereum Classic, sell them and buy Dubai Coin.
The hashrate of 15Gh means that this coin is mined by 150 RTX 3080 video cards.
You risk losing time with this coin.

Tried dbixmine.pro but it showed no earnings aftrer 1 hour mining so I quit. I was connected etc. but nothing was mined. I am using Hashcity and it works very well.
I mine just for fun (want to have some coins just in case, I am fully against crypto) with RX 580 8GB RAM lol. You said "half-dead". No risk no fun. It is not dead, dead yet. Who knows what will happen Cheesy

I was also as naive as you and mined the coin for several months with all the farms. Now its price = 0 Smiley
You can mine Ethereum, get a profit of $ 2 per day, and use this money to buy a Dubai coin.
Scheme:
Pool ethermine - withdrawal through Matic - Hotbit exchange (no KYC, support for Matic) - Buy  TRON - transfer of coins to the exchange where Dubai coin is sold

Look at the tests of these video cards on other algorithms. Profit 7-8 dollars per day. They are much better than the PTX 3080.
Ethereum may change the algorithm next year.
In Europe, they were sold for $ 1,700, and I bought a boo for that price. In Russia, now their price is about $ 3,000 from hucksters.
These video cards are not available in stores.
4236  Other / Archival / Re: Are there risks with GPU mining? 144% roi on: June 04, 2021, 06:55:43 PM
Hello  Smiley

Just wondering if there is risks with GPU mining. Buying a $2000 GPU and getting $8 per day ( 144% roi / year ) is very unbelievable, there should be risks.

Wondering why i shouldnt buy 20k usd worth of graphic cards now!!??
You have a calculation error.
You think that your profit will be constant and in a year you will receive 8 * 365 = 2920 dollars.
$ 7 is a profit from the RTX 3080TI video card, but in my country it costs $ 3000.
With such a purchase price, this video card may not be recouped in 3 years. And don't forget about the rest of the mining farm components.

If green energy 10 years ago was not needed 99% of the time, now we will have other problems.
Then you need to give up cars with a gasoline engine.

I want 100$ per day for bitcoin mining approximately, how much investment in hardware, whats daily expense, here electricity one unit price is 3$.
Learn to use the profit calculator
https://asictrade.com/calc.html/SHA-256/

You need to buy 5 ASICs Whatsminer M30S (112TH)
Look at their cost in your country or calculate the cost of analogs. (560TH)
What does electricity one unit price mean?
The cost of electricity is usually indicated at 1 kilowatt per hour (USD/KWh)
The profit will change depending on the bitcoin price and the hashrate.
