4221  Economy / Gambling / Re: Watching Our Kids From Something That Could Dangerous To Them on: April 13, 2022, 07:02:42 PM
What do you think about the situation above? Do you have any such situations like me before?
I think each case is unique. When parents identify their children are responsible and won't fall for addictions, bad behaviours or compulsive purchasings it's ok to give them freedom, because it will actually help them to develop even more self-confidence and responsability for their adulthood. But you can't be too careful when children are impulsive. In this case parents must be more attentive on what their children are doing on the internet.

About the story told above speficially, i have the perception your best friend isn't too concerned about what his/her children are doing on the cellphone, because he/she probably trust them and there haven't been any issues involving apps, gambling, pornography or undesired purchases before. Anyway, from times to times it's important to check what they are doing.

I also startet 5 years ago and worth of the cryptos I own is now about 5000 $ (never bought anything with fiat). Its not that much for 5 years, but way more than nothing and if prizes go up in future - who knows?
Initially my goal was to collect 50000 Doge coins and at that time one could do this easially within a few months. Unfortunately I did not hold them till they reached 50 Cents.
Personally, for me this is like a hobby, other people may collect stamps or coins its not much different and its fun for me to spend my sparetime with cryptos.
I have to admit, my record stands at 23 rolls within 24 h with the 1000 multipier at freebitco but this is not normality of course.

An amount of 5000$ may be small for you, but that's already a nice extra for just doing some free rolls and claiming on some faucets. Where else will you find a hobby that doesn't cost any money but gives you money? With that amount, you can already do nice a nice long vacation!
It's a very nice sum of money for something he didn't even need to invest, spare a long time on it or put a lot of effort to acquire. It's an extra income of 1000$ every year since he has started his journey in crypto universe, with serious possibilities of getting much better if he continues holding those satoshis for the next bull run.

Stories like this are inspiration for many to show they shouldn't despair, lose patience or focus when persuing their long term goals. People thought they were claiming dust at faucets 5 years ago, although they didn't know it was gold dust...
4223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Madeira and Prospera "adopting bitcoin" on: April 12, 2022, 10:32:11 PM
These are good steps to attract digital nomads to their territories. Portugal in special is a good destination for this kind of public, because life quality there is pretty decent and the living costs affordable when compared to neighboor european countries. The only cons is the low wages offered there, but since digital nomads have their income from the internet and deal with cryptocurrencies it's not an issue at all.

It's a win win situation for every parts: for the government it's good, because income from taxes is going to increase when the appeal for the region rises and for crypto enthusiasts it's great, because they will be able to use bitcoin for every products and services disponible around.
4224  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk - Hinted that it would be nice if Twitter Ads be paid in Bitcoin on: April 12, 2022, 09:19:00 PM
How much will the Bitcoin price spike.... if a decision like this was approved..... and will this boost the global economy?
It will depend if advertisers are bitcoin adopters or not. i don't see a huge impact, because it's likely most advertisers will keep using fiat as payment method, just like it happens on another platforms which started accepting bitcoin as payment before. As we know, bitcoin is mostly used as investment instead of currency.

Chart shows a rise from 10k to 30k over that period. I think its hard to argue with those results.
Maybe it was just coincidence. It's hard to imagine pornography has potential to boost bitcoin price like that. That pump should be more related to the weak phase traditional economies were facing due to the peak of covid pandemic, with low interest rates in US, so investors had to move their funds to something more profitable and safe from governmental interferences.

On the other hand, if what you say really happened, we have the proof activities people prefer to practice hidden and are considered shady by the society, are impactful to spread bitcoin adoption due to its pseudo-anonymous characteristic.
4225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or CBDCs? on: April 12, 2022, 03:45:55 AM
CBDC of US will be probably the same as stablecoin, with the difference one is centralized by a government and the other is centralized by a company (which is still regulated by the government anyway), so they are pretty similar. Maybe CBDCs will be more precise at the 1:1 ratio conversion than stablecoins, but I'm not sure yet.

Between the two options I prefer to pick the less bureaucratic one. I expect CBDCs to be harder to deal with due to regulations and limitations imposed by each local government, so it's likely I will keep with stablecoins, but if CBDCs are going to be user friendly currencies I see no problem in adopting them as well.
4226  Economy / Economics / Re: Thailand ban using crypto for payments on: April 11, 2022, 10:58:12 PM
Thai people deserve congratulations for being active bitcoin supporters, as we can see on the article provided by OP:
Quote
Thai users held more than $3 billion worth of cryptocurrencies this year. A massive increase compared to just a few years ago. Infact, in 2021, transaction volume increased by about 600% from November 2020 to April 2021.
The local government should have been really worried about the increasement in crypto usage, so they had to create a measure to prevent crypto replacing fiat on the daily life of the society. Anyway, I don't think it was a great idea, because people will keep using crypto as payment method, as it's not easy for the regulators to track everyone's transactions. How can the government say someone is using crypto as payment method or if this person is just selling his holdings for fiat to someone else? Thankfully, the nature of decentralized cryptocurrencies are at the favour of the citizens of such countries which are going to face restrictive and abusive limitations on the near future.
4227  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 11, 2022, 09:48:59 PM
From 42,000$ to 39,000$ in one day... These are the most recent fluctuations on bitcoin market. April started really good, but almost reaching at the middle of the month, I see bitcoin has lost breath to keep the tendency. There isn't enough demand yet for a new bull run. Bitcoin is walking in circles since the beginning of this year without any major advancements. I see the market sentiment is leading to more stagnation yet.
Not the war or the end of the pandemic were enough to push bitcoin to the 50,000$ price range, although many investors are still expecting it to happen this year. Maybe the second semester of 2022 can finally bring the wind of change to crypto market! Well, there's no harm in dreaming...
4228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is NFT's hype over? on: April 11, 2022, 05:57:22 AM
Most recent hype started was metaverse, and somehow it mixes well with NFTs in some cases, so i think they aren't over yet. There is still something else to milk from NFT hype by speculators and it won't be finished until we hear about a new trend appearing in crypto environment (so far it hasn't happened). What will define the increasement of the search for NFTs and market volume is a consistent bullish season that we don't know exactly when it's going to begin for real. Meanwhile, we will continue seeing the market very stagnant or depreciative, consequently affecting NFTs negatively, although it doesn't mean the hype ceased.
4229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin continue to have the same effect on alts? on: April 10, 2022, 09:05:24 PM
Will BTC price movement continue to have the same effect on alts price in like 10 years? 20 years maybe?
Without any doubts. Bitcoin gives all directions on this market. It's called the king of crypto universe for a good reason: for being the original cryptocurrency among all, which gave origin to the whole crypto market we see right now, with more than 2.01$ trillion dollars marketcap.

If it wasn't for bitcoin, this market probably wouldn't even exist or on the best hypothesis, marketcap would be much inferior, indicating without bitcoin, crypto market becomes unreliable for investors.

Did you try to open the page and then just refresh, not to close and open again?
For me it works, someone else confirmed it too.
I didn't try to refresh before, but just opened the link again right now to try your advice next and it worked at once this time. Thanks.

Just do over.
Go to the push email you received and click again. The WOF is not invalid unless it is played. This happened with me once and everything was all ok after I clicked the banner again.

I hope you are not just opening the link by copying and pasting it. Click the banner itself.

OR, it might be possible you clicking the 48 hours and older email WOF?

Every WOF that you receive from an email is valid up to 48 hours only.

(Or try opening the link within incognito mode).
Yes, I always open the link through clicking the banner.

When the WOF ticket has been already played or has expired due to the 48 hours countdown time, a different message displays, so this captcha error is really an unique situation.

Thanks.

Sorry, I believe this issue was already commented some time ago on this thread, but I don't remember exactly how it ended being the solution, neither the page where it was discussed.

I opened one of the free wheel spins received through email, but captcha is stucked and doesn't work: ERROR for site owner: invalid site key.

Closed and opened the link again few times, and the same message displays.

Can I still use this spin somehow, or is it lost due to this error?
4232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: High Rollers on: April 10, 2022, 06:47:10 AM
Quite surprised to see consecutive high roller of above 20BTC on a single wager. Have any of you come across such big wagers in real-time.
Really surprising to see there are gamblers who can afford such bet sizes at crypto casinos. There are wealthy gamblers around, indeed. For me it's insane and surreal to imagine someone could place almost a million dollars in a single bet! I've never came across these big wagers and I think they always make sure no one come accross them so easily...

At same time, it must be painful to lose more than most people are going to earn during their entire lifetime in a single ephemeral bet.
4233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does staking even make any sense on: April 10, 2022, 05:37:15 AM
How do people even enjoy staking their coins and tokens? I'm confused, yesterday I tried to stake some amount of stable coin aka USDT on Binance Exchange and it is worth 1000$ but the return on this in a year is 95$ lol, I laughed so hard that I almost flipped my laptop, why the heck people doing this?.
many people do that because indeed the money they stake is cold money, meaning that the money is really not used in everyday life, yes it doesn't matter in my opinion, even though the return is only $95 in a year but it's still profitable isn't it? but if you have cold money more than $ 1000 of course it's in vain, because many investments are more profitable than that.
95$ interest paid after one year of staking over 1000$ means 9,5% or 0,79% monthly. Considering these rates are being paid over an USDT investment, a stable coin which follows dollar price, I think it doesn't worth anyway, because the inflation will totally kill the purchasing power along that same period of time. It means what you buy today with 1000$, won't be possible to be bought with 1095$ after one year. Inflation rises much faster than the interst income being paid to the investor. Binance rates are too low and too bad. To stake stable coins efficiently, interest rates offered must be higher, otherwise, better to stick with volatile main cryptocurrencies only.
4234  Economy / Gambling / Re: Another New Rule On Gambling Adverts Ban Celebrities and Sports Stars on: April 10, 2022, 01:11:24 AM
Quote
Anyone with a "strong appeal" to young people, such as footballer Cristiano Ronaldo and Love Island star Chris Hughes, should not appear in advertisements.
I've never seen such rules and I believe this could be labeled as discrimination against individuals in particular, because it's too vague and abstract to say who is and who isn't influent among children and youth. Regulators can create any excuses to justify a celebrity to join or not join gambling advertisements, what will inevitably lead to corruption in order to make regulators allow someone to participate a propaganda.
As Cristiano Ronaldo was mentioned, I can say he is an individual like any other and he has the right to be hired by any brands and companies, since the businesses are legit.

This regulation is a too dangerous one, because it will affect most popular celebrities negatively, since they have influence among every age groups, so it will be used against them on cases of this kind, highlighting children specifically.
4235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We are getting stronger, how are you contributing? on: April 09, 2022, 11:52:27 PM
Good to know the interest from the public for bitcoin icons and logo is increasing faster right now. It means people not only are aware of bitcoin, but also want to wear its symbols, consequently promoting it to even more people, intentionally or not.

Well, in my case I just try to talk about bitcoin as much as possible when talking about cryptocurrencies, finances, economy and investments. I give all legitimacy to bitcoin on these matters, so that is how I'm contributing so far, although I hope to do more futurely.
4236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your opinions about simulated reality games? on: April 09, 2022, 07:50:36 PM
If we do not have an exact mathematical model of the game, then of course we cannot fully verify the correctness of the results obtained.
Yes. It's so hard to find informations about the developers behind the algorithms and the algorithms themselves. This betting category is really shady. They say hundreds or thousands of previous games results of each team are taken into consideration when programming the algorithm, what I suppose it's being constantly done in real time, increasing even more the possibility of manipulation by the operators to favour one side or another.

It totally contrasts with the achievements of crypto gambling industry for gamblers, which is heavily backed by the provably fair feature, raising transparency on this environment to a new level never seen before at land based casinos.

Clicking it every hour will disrupt your thinking process. You won't be able to concentrate on anything half decent. Fine if you are unemployed but then why are you unemployed in the first place...

Well I am employed as an IT pro and I have time to click it every hour once I am at work, even when I have massive troubleshooting to do it is no problem for me to just have 2 seconds to click the roll button from my mobile phone and then back at work without losing the concentration. For me it does not disrupt anything but I don't know in other persons.I like what I have achieved so far here and an important part although small is thanks to the rolls I do daily.
For people who work on informatic field, have uninterrupted access to internet and doesn't have limitations by the boss regards which kind of sites can be reached, there is no issue in claiming during the whole working time, especially because freebitco.in doesn't enforce captchas. I would say it's a free lottery every hour where you can win up to 200$. But for workers who don't fulfill the characteristics mentioned earlier, I fear it's not possible to be so active on the site during the day, because some activities are so intensive and demand so much attention and concentration during periods of time longer than 1 hour, that to worry about claiming at a faucet every 60 minutes may harm the performance of such workers after all.
4238  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which would be better ? on: April 09, 2022, 12:46:26 AM
but in fact one can make wrong decisions, because they do not analyze from the last few football matches to speculation on the next football match. .
That is why it's important to be an assiduous soccer or football spectator before placing a bet on a match. Sometimes people are soccer fans for real and know main news and events regard teams, players and championships, but they don't follow it too closely and not too frequently, what puts them on the situation you mentioned above. To raise winning chances on sports betting, every extra details you know matters.
4239  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which would be better ? on: April 08, 2022, 05:05:55 PM
Adjust gambling to your taste. Be it slot games, poker, or dice. But of course, football is the easiest option and the biggest bet in the casino. If you like both then choose and do gambling as a hobby. Having some entertainment at the casino, and trying various slots is not as difficult as one might think. You just bet and roll, can't everything be made easier without having to force a difficult game.
Football can be a good option to start betting on sports only if he has enough knowledge about the teams and players involved, what means he must follow events and news regard this sport closely and frequently. Otherwise, it's better to just stick with classic casino games, since he will be fully relying on luck to win. It's important to mention to a newbie, though, that he shouldn't expect profit on long run and to play only with money he can afford to lose.
4240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you, or would you ever use a Bitcoin ATM? on: April 07, 2022, 10:56:32 PM
I've seen them pop up all around me, in small convenience stores and even restaurants. I was wondering if it's a good option to buy a gift for someone else, or are the fees too high and it's not worth it? Also I'm not sure how it works but figuring they give you a private key, and how safe is that?
https://hermesbitcoin.com/learn/are-bitcoin-atms-safe/

They are safe (unless it was illegally installed) but unfortunately, I didn't try using this for it wasn't yet available in our place. But I/m not sure how much is the cost per transaction or that something expensive? Some people have said that the fees were expensive, which is probably a reason why the majority are still prepared to use fiat money. I had figured out that even though this will exists in my country, people are barely using this stuff.
I've also heared the fees are expensive, and even though there isn't any ATM disponible around me, I have no intention of using this, because every features needed to deal with bitcoin can be found on online websites or apps (exchanges) that can be accessed through mobile devices anywhere, where customers pay cheap fees, if they choose the service wisely.

As I see, ATMs are more like a visual, physical propaganda for bitcoin than anything else.
