4221  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto Lottery Relaunch Now Live! Play and Earn With Lottoshi! on: January 15, 2020, 07:48:50 AM
This means your website is mobile-friendly on browser phone. because I don't see any link to download into android or ios?

yes.. you can do it in your phone's web browser. this is not an app. or maybe they will consider?  Grin

They probably should consider the mobile app too. The site works a bit fine for me though. Just that it doesn't work without enabling browser Javascript or using more advanced mobile browser.
I will probably try it out if it works fine on my normal browser.
4222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BSV goes up by 50% in 24 hours, bull trap? on: January 15, 2020, 07:23:12 AM
Question is, is the increase due to increase in real users, increase in real investment inflow, due to the usefulness of the coin or is price being deliberately manipulated? How many real users are on the network, by the way? Hundreds, thousands, millions? And how decentralized is the coin. Looks like everything is centered around a single individual/stakeholder.

I think these are part of what determine the actual value of a cryptocurrency project and not the price. The price factor need to be organic else it should be ignored.
4223  Other / Off-topic / Re: Your world of the future: how do you see the society in 30 years on: January 15, 2020, 06:48:55 AM
I'd prefer a sustainable world where people, (1) love, respect & fear the real CREATOR of this world. (2) love and respect HIS creatures especially human beings.
I would not live in a society that does not do the number 1 neither will I like to live in a society that ignores the number 2. Both (1 & 2) must be religiously followed by all societies else their survival on earth and everlasting life is not guaranteed. Living in such societies is a dangerous thing to do. I will never be comfortable living in them because destruction could come at anytime.
I would prefer to create or live in a good society (with permission from our CREATOR ofcourse) that do both 1 and 2, and obeys all the laws of 1, the CREATOR.
Anyone in the good society who intentionally & continuously beaks any of the two (1 or 2)will be isolated else the whole society gets infected. But the isolated one will be well taken care of while being quarantined and taught the CREATOR's laws. Once he/she changes, he will be brought back into the healthy/good society.

People in the good society will share what they own. owning properties will definitely be ok as long as sharing is done for the sake of Earth's limited resources & the needy. Hardwork will be emphasized.
4224  Economy / Economics / Re: Demand for computing power on: January 14, 2020, 07:22:52 PM
I guess it will be possible to get paid in the future to do serious decentralized/Blockchain computations. Looks like that is where the crypto community is heading to.
It's more like hitting two targets with a stone.
4225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Analysis company that trains students to detect cryptocurrency scams on: January 14, 2020, 02:53:19 PM
Have you ever been scammed with cryptocurrencies, how was it?

https://cointelegraph.com/news/sec-requests-telegram-banking-data-as-new-evidence-emerges

Most big crypto scams happen on centralized platforms.. But crypto is about decentralization or "be your own bank".  There are safe paths to follow in crypto world... If you venture out of the paths and something bad happens, whom do you blame? Probably better to use the govt-regulated exchanges and hope they compensate you quickly if something bad happens.
I haven't really be scammed before except for exchange hack, ignoring kyc & not able to withdraw my coins, and and an unpleasant experience with a failed crypto service (my first time of using Bitcoin/crypto). All three happened on centralized platforms.   I don't really save too much on centralized/custodial platforms.

I have been "scammed" multiple times on centralized (both crypto & non-crypto) platforms in a short period of time (within 5 years, I think ) compared to being scammed on decentralized platforms.
4226  Other / Off-topic / Re: A question on: January 14, 2020, 01:33:28 PM
As explained here: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) It basically goes up with more posts you make that others find interesting AND is also time based, so even if you write interesting (not copy pasted) things non stop, it would take at least like two years to max up.

Thanks for a answer.
But how the "activity" is calculated?

Check this out: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2330820.msg23704694#msg23704694
I guess @hilarious explains it better
There are probably other good explanations I haven't seen yet.
The new ranking is based on activity and merit
4227  Economy / Economics / Re: Jim Rickards: His Gold Price Prediction Explained... on: January 14, 2020, 10:45:03 AM
I guess the price increase would be in anticipation of serious global financial problems or in reaction to a serious global financial problem.
Well, that could happen if gold remains expensive/valuable in certain part of the world during a serious global problem. I wouldn't rely on high price in few parts of the world when a time like that comes. Things could be very regulated there and they'll probably have very difficult/risky terms and conditions.
I'd rather rely on some other things.
4228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's in the game, after all? on: January 14, 2020, 09:51:11 AM
I can't speak to most sites or what they have for visuals. I do imagine anyone who plays dice online likely started spinning slots irl. These machines are designed to induce a sense of sensory overload and pleasure. It keeps you coming back by using bright shiny flashy and loud stimulus to fake a sense of happiness and euphoria.
Think about the way you felt walking through the midway at a carnival... everything is great. So I imagine the sites that players say they play the most on just for fun provide something similar.
The few times I played a plinko style game I thought it was similar I got to watch all the dice bouncing around and there was that edge of your seat anticipation if you could hit the big multiplier or not. I can't even remember if it was with real funds or simply a small faucet on the site. Either way it was small amounts but did provide that brief sense of enjoyment. With respect to dice, I didn't see the same ideas at play. There it was more about feeling like you could bring a strategy to play by changing around the multiplier... is that right, whatever it is to set your win/loss threshold for the role.

This is probably part of the cause, but most people who get "entertained by artificial pleasure inducing things" probably don't know they are the primary sources of the fun/pleasure/entertainment they get from gambling. In my opinion, this sort of pleasure inducing things shouldn't be use on luck-based gambling. They have more disadvantages than advantages
4229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery In Your Place on: January 14, 2020, 09:04:23 AM
I think it is pure luck and not in anything to do with skills and experience.
Of course, this is pure luck.
Sometimes, they got number from a dream, when dreaming about a lion, the number is 77 on the following pictures

Does this really work? I mean, there's just too many combination of numbers to easily have formula to win. Also, lottery is played through a randomized way of picking a number and not by any means of computation.

Not really, this how-to playing with lucky

The picture brought back good childhood memories even though I never won once(not sure about this). This looks aliitle different though. Guess it's not the exact type of lottery.
I wonder what type of lottery it is called, and whether it's still in existence?
4230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling cashback services? on: January 14, 2020, 07:54:45 AM
Since almost every gambling site offers affiliate programs, and it's not allowed to refer yourself, are there any services that offer cashback by returning you part of their earning from referring you?
If you know about such site, have you tried using them? What are the terms?

I'm thinking about developing such service, so any suggestions are welcome.

I do not understand this well. But I guess the cashback company doesn't have to be the gambling company it refers you to? It is an interesting way to earn extra income from  gambling companies without violating their referrals terms. . A big gambler could actually earn reasonably from this.
4231  Other / Off-topic / Re: Save your PK, or any message into an image file. on: January 14, 2020, 07:34:36 AM
I wouldn't save too much with this method. It's quite risky. By the way, is this open source project... been tested by others?

If you secure both the paper notes and an image file saved in external media in the same Safe,
which do you think is safer?

None, I guess. as long as you copy from the  internet.
4232  Other / Off-topic / Re: The big one on: January 14, 2020, 07:10:07 AM
exchanges are top of the bitcoin richlist
bitfinex seems to have alot

and yes its their private keys that the coins are on not customers. so while customers play with mysql database balance bitfinex holds the actual coins
(not your key not your coin)

It's quite a risky rich list to be honest, unless they have ways of compensating coin owners if something unpleasant happens.
A healthy rich list in my opinion would be decentralized rich list. A wealth whale ought to split or have his coin on many addresses. I guess if this can be done easily and automatically, most whales will do it and we won't have much addresses with expensive coins.
4233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Storing crypto on an implant? on: January 12, 2020, 04:38:43 PM
Is this implant for convinence or security? How about the copy of keys? Where is it going to be stored? I guess you'll need to have a copy somewhere just incase something happens to the body.
Well, I'd rather store mine on my body though. I could imprint it on my body in cryptic form or even on artificial tooth/teeth.
4234  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I trade with the knowledge of others. How do you feel about signals, closed paid on: January 12, 2020, 02:11:05 PM
I more focused on buying low and selling high. I don't depend too much on technical analysis. The simplest strategy tends to work best for me. I just buy the important dips and sell when price starts climbing up. It's just as simple as that. The stop lose is actually very useful and, trading is quite fun.
4235  Other / Off-topic / Re: Prevent closing and reloading of pages on Android browser on: January 12, 2020, 01:14:40 PM
Why not just save the opened pages before switching to another application? You can then reopen the pages when you are done with  other app.
Does the browser tab close and reopen frequently when you switch to other applications? You sure the problem isn't from the browser or  your RAM is probably low? Guess you should try clearing your browser cache/data, update the browser, try another browser, use task killer to close some apps, buy a better phone if you can?
4236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEWS] Is SardineCoin Real? The Sardines Are, At Least hehehe on: January 12, 2020, 10:51:08 AM
A coin backed by canned/smoked/dry sardine? I wonder how long the sardine will last before expiration.
Well, I'd prefer coin backed by edible thing that is easy to move around. Caned Sardine (depending on country) would be a bit heavy to move a round. They are too heavy compared to their price. And am not sure if this canned things are very healthy.
By the way, there should be ways to prove that things like this are stored somewhere safe and can't be altered or moved by anyone including the owner without the crypto community knowing.
4237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Real reasons to Why do you gamble? on: January 12, 2020, 09:51:16 AM
Many gamblers are saying that they are only gambling for stress reliever but the thing is they keep becoming more stress if they lose in the gambling. For those who have a lot of money can say that gambling is for fun and stress reliever because they have a lot of money and they do not care even if they lose big.
In general gambling, people who have a lot of money are only a very few cases, looking to gamble is just a little entertainment before they find more interesting games, their purpose is really fun but a large number of others will want gambling to change their finances and move in the most positive way possible, they want great luck in gambling, they often justify that gambling reduces stress for them. As a result of this justification, more stress and tension after losses, their actions and desires in their eyes clearly show their reason
i like the thoughts that some are pretending to be having fun and lessen their stress while in gambling but the truth is they are not and instead they are gathering too many stressful days and finances because of their involvement in this games.

from my observation those people that intact in gambling are the people who has not going good in living, those are the most short in financial and stress persons.

I guess you mean addicted (instead of "intact").
I kind of agree though, assuming you mean "addicted in gambling". I think people with problems in their life or lack happiness could easily get addicted than people with happy/normal life.
4238  Economy / Gambling / Re: ** Soft Launch ** Moonlanding.io **WITH WELCOME BONUS** on: January 12, 2020, 09:02:49 AM
Sounds interesting.  I kind of prefer p2p betting.
Does this use a token or something?
And number 2, is that Bitcoin Lightening Network?
Couldn't access the site on my browser unfortunately... wanted to get more details on the kyc part.

That's great, you shall find our site interesting then.

Nope, no token, just BTC and yes we are running a full lightning node, so you can connect to us and open a channel or connect to another popular node.

What were your questions about KYC?
Currently we don't ask for any details until there you hit 999 EURO's in withdrawals. It's just to satisfy some AML requirements. We don't ask for any KYC info before 999 Euro per account.

You can view our FAQ https://moonlanding.io/faq

Interesting.
Is lightening network the only payment method. Looks like some may find it a bit challenging to use.

4239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's in the game, after all? on: January 12, 2020, 08:05:52 AM
Whether it is the one with the mind of earning out of gambling or the one preferring it is a source of entertainment mostly prefer Dice than any other games available with the casinos. Maybe this is based on the simplest way the game is being developed and the prediction possibility which when played with friends can create some fun moments. However gambling is all about money, and the real fun and entertainment happens when one makes a win when they didn't expect it. Another thing majority reveals that they Play for fun, but that isn't the truth.
It's probably not very true, otherwise they would be playing thesame games for free or without money on gaming platforms or on their mobile devices/computers. There are lots of games people can actually enjoy playing without gambling or risking something valuable aside their time(& computer hardware).

4240  Other / Off-topic / Re: Protocol for Decentralized Social Media on: January 12, 2020, 06:57:33 AM
I wonder how both Mastodon and Minds will interact with other decentralized networks if they remain a standalone or isolated  social media platforms. Steemit for example has it's own Blockchain/decentralized network and it users can benefit from others features of the decentralized network.    Guess the federated platforms have features that allow them to interact with other decentralized networks, or they plan to include this in the future?

As regards the data storage problem, I guess people could be automatically assigned important data (to prevent too much duplications) and incentivized to store the data. I think non-financial incentives would work best.
