Update on Akmal's case... here goes his T-20 World Cup dream.

I think After Shakib al hasan. Umer Akmal becomes 2nd international player to get ban "For not reporting about details of corrupt approach".

PCB hands Umar Akmal three-year ban from all cricket

OMG!!! This is really shocking. Umar Akmal is just 29 years old and he is at his prime now. A three year ban would possibly mean the end of his career. Only a very few cricketers have made it back to the national team, after receiving such lengthy ban. And the article says that the ban covers all forms of cricket, and not just international matches. So that's even more destructive for Akmal.
4222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2020-04-25] Facebook’s Libra Has Changed... on: April 26, 2020, 01:58:57 PM
LOL... I am hearing about Libra after such a long time. Anyway good for Zucker. Despite all the dirt thrown upon him by the Senate committee, he didn't shelved the project. But with the new KYC requirements and such, I am afraid that Libra has hardly anything to do with cryptocurrency. It has now become a digital version of fiat currency, similar to PayPal or Skrill.
4223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving 2020 is almost here, are you ready? on: April 26, 2020, 01:52:44 PM
I am feeling skeptical now. Only a few days remain for the block reward halving and we are yet to witness any major spike in the exchange rates. And the prices still remain in four-digits. The trade volumes also remain low. Another worrying aspect is that BCH had its block reward halving a few days back. The exchange rate actually went down after that event.
4224  Economy / Speculation / Re: My first experience of Bitcoin halving, I'm excited. on: April 26, 2020, 01:43:01 PM
Yeah.. this is the first halving for me as well. I started collecting cryptocurrencies almost three and half years ago, i.e just a few months after the second block reward halving of 2016. Looking back, it seems like a long long time. I am also quite excited, not just about the Bitcoin block reward halving, but also about the BCH block reward halving as well. Some 5% of my portfolio is made up of BCH. For BCH the event is already over, and I expect the spike to begin anytime now.
4225  Other / Politics & Society / Re: COVID-19 teaches all of us. on: April 26, 2020, 01:34:28 PM
I'd like to add COVID teaches us that we are not safe even if we have a great technology in our times, out present scientist can find a cure but it will take time and anyone of us are not safe, we need to educate ourselves now on how to protect ourselves and have a strong believe in God

Have to differ with you. Technology has made a lot of difference. The fatality rate is low, because of the advancements we had in the medical technology. In countries such as South Korea and Germany, the mortality rate is 3% to 4%. If this pandemic had occurred a hundred years ago, then it would have wiped out tens of millions of people. Technology has prevented a lot of deaths during the current COVID 19 pandemic.
4226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people still fall victim to obvious scam? on: April 26, 2020, 01:27:56 PM
The reason is that, greed remains one of the basic human traits. You can claim otherwise, but the truth is that every single human being is cursed with greed. The level may vary. Now what makes scams possible is the deadly combination of greed, lack of intelligence and inexperience. People with all these three characteristics have a much greater chance of getting scammed, when compared to the others.
4227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: April 26, 2020, 01:20:40 PM
Completely agree, what's the reason of paying taxes if they can't help people.

That is a very weak argument and you know it. The government can't send freebies to everyone. Those who are on top of the priority list will get the first preference. And you need to remember that the global economies are under severe recession. The government revenues are down, and there is a limit to what they can do here. And also, they need to spend a lot of their funds to keep the pandemic in check.
4228  Economy / Economics / Re: How many people have been panic selling? I didn't. on: April 26, 2020, 01:11:15 PM
You can't term all the sale orders as panic selling. Some people are selling their coins, because according to them the long term potential doesn't look that great. Some others are selling, because they believe that an economic meltdown may happen anytime now and it will be better if some of the volatile assets such as cryptocurrencies can be converted to stable assets such as gold.
4229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing now? on: April 26, 2020, 01:05:41 PM
How do you survive in the current market situation?
If the bounty project is no longer profitable, what do you do now?

I stopped doing bounties almost two years ago. I am still doing a few airdrops every now and then, since they don't take much time. But for most part, I am staying away from new investments and bounty campaigns. Nowadays, there are very few bounties which are having solid fundamentals. A lot of people are still participating in them, but chances of getting a good reward is low.
4230  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 26, 2020, 12:59:05 PM
Asian people are very creative and usually find incredible solutions for uncommon problems. China will meet no economical crush, not even after the second covid wave.
i am asian, but im nt sure what kind of solution right now Cheesy only lockdown and hope the vaccine as fast as it done

Asian here as well. I don't think that Asia is faring any better when compared to the rest of the world. Anyway, I just want to warn you about this hype regarding the vaccine. As of now, we don't have a vaccine although several of the pharma giants are working on it. Even if they come up with a vaccine, the testing and approval phase can take anywhere from 6 to 18 months.
4231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you committed, or considered committing, illegal act to finance gambling? on: April 26, 2020, 12:53:47 PM
I will give you my honest answer, because I have not yet done anything illegal to finance my gambling needs. That said, if someone had actually done some illegal act, then I don't think that he will reveal it here. Despite whatever anonymity given by this platform, there is always a chance that your online activity may be traced back to you. So don't expect much from this thread.
4232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market Manipulation Or Not? on: April 26, 2020, 12:47:54 PM
I am dealing with cryptocurrency for more than three and half years and I would say that these sort of incidents are not isolated. They happen every now and then. When a particular token or altcoin is only traded in one or two smaller exchanges, it is easier for the promoters to initiate a pump. Once the prices are peaked, they will dump their coins and make their exit.
4233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: April 26, 2020, 12:41:59 PM
You are absolutely right these things need some good time for more interest because its just for fun and entertainment if we have no long break then surely we will lost some good charm and interest from crowd even its very important in developed countries where they have very strong system.

My point was that, the PSL 2020 was a monumental success. A lot of hype was generated, as the matches were being played in Pakistan. There was a lot of coverage from media around the world. But now it will be difficult to repeat that all over again, just for three matches. And worse still, if they do so then it can have a negative impact on the next year's edition.

My request to the PCB is that they should rather concentrate on PSL 2021.
4234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cuba opens its own exchange on: April 26, 2020, 12:35:13 PM
Wow!! The world is really changing. Cuba used to be a hardcore Communist dictatorship, where private ownership of anything valuable was forbidden. Now they are allowing their citizens to own and trade in cryptocurrencies. Perhaps they realized that communism and socialism are failed ideologies, and in order to survive in the modern world, they need to throw these to the dust bin.
4235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: April 26, 2020, 12:29:11 PM
However i could not find any highlights of the match on youtube. Where did you watch the match ?

You will not find any YouTube videos, because the content is copyrighted.  Grin

You need to install the Fancode app on your mobile phone to watch these matches. I installed it a few months ago, in order to watch the FIBA World Cup (Basketball). Every now and then, they show some minor cricket matches for free (such as Zimbabwe vs Singapore or Nepal vs Afghanistan). As of now, the Belarusian Premier League football is also being shown live there.  Grin
4236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to know whether it is right to join bounties? on: April 26, 2020, 12:23:13 PM
Writing Articles don't always bring better profits, it depends on how the bounty manager split the bounty allocations, sometimes only 20% are given to content/article campaign

The allocation for various campaigns will be given before the start and you can check that before joining a particular campaign. Personally, I have never joined article creation bounties, because there are so many complexities involved in them. I found others, such as signature bounties and social media bounties easier to complete. Others may disagree with my views.
4237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 26, 2020, 12:17:11 PM
Yeah it is.

The worst hit state are Maharashtra and Delhi. They are so densely populated that it is becoming very hard for the government to implement lockdown. 80 percent of the population is still. O operAting with the government.

Most of the cases in Maharashtra are concentrated within Mumbai, but there are huge number of cases in Pune/Thane as well. It is not that surprising. Mumbai is an island (now converted to a peninsula), and the population density is the highest for any major city in India. The largest slum in the world (Dharavi) is located here. So it is not very surprising that the pandemic is spreading fast in Mumbai.
4238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: May I buy Bitcoin & Ethereum now? Or I am late? on: April 26, 2020, 12:11:13 PM
If you are realistic about the returns, then go ahead and purchase Bitcoin. But I am not that sure about Ethereum. The developers are not working properly for Ethereum and many of the important deadlines were missed recently. Also, right now Ethereum is the no.2 cryptocurrency in terms of market cap. So the potential returns may not be that high. I would rather focus on some of the other alts such as EOS and Cardano.
4239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 26, 2020, 12:05:53 PM
Imagine a world without America and it's domination :-D

Imagine a world without the BCCI and its domination.  Grin

Being a cricket lover, I am deeply disturbed by the refusal of BCCI to allow ICC to reroute funds for the globalization of the game. They are the richest board, and yet they get the largest share from the ICC (more than twice the amount when compared to the second ranked board). And along with the ECB, they sabotaged the inclusion of cricket in Olympic games.

Interesting news or call it irony but cricket authorities aka ICC might legalise ball- tampering due to covid-19 (no saliva) @Vishnu you might enjoy this. Using phone so not sure if this article is new or 1 month old.

https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/29091809/cricket-consider-legalised-ball-tampering-wake-coronavirus?platform=amp

Wow!!
Many thanks for posting this article. But then the article says that it needs to be done under the "supervision of the umpires"... lol... it is going to be tough for the umpires. They need to see up to what level the tampering can be tolerated. Anyway, I enjoy watching conventional swing/reverse swing deliveries.. and this is definitely a great news for people like me.  Grin
