One question bro if i buy this

https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201511170341298180m44675v0613

the only thing i need to do after i buy and ship to my house is to setup configuration and to start mining with this cuz i saw this and i like this and the price i think is a good for me i would like to buy this if is this like i said i will wait for your reply and for others who helped me thank you very much for your info !

You will also need a PSU and look at requirements.   There are not a whole lot of PSU's that have 10 PCIe.   Most that do are server ones with breakout or attached directly.

But if you have 220/240 yes bitmain has a PSU that will work fine with it.  Keep PSU cost in mind when buying.
4242  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 6? Any owners out there? on: November 22, 2015, 03:47:18 PM
the avalon 6 boards are like prisma boards Smiley

I would not go with this.  The Avalon 6 has temp control and is not out there burning up boards.

So to copare it to a prisma.... is not really that accurate in my eyes.
4243  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 22, 2015, 03:29:37 PM
If I was wanting to start off running one of these and then add on one or potentially two with the option of undervolting when desired would it be worth it to get a serious PSU upfront or just buy ATX PSUs and as needed?

We will know more after we see the underclock.  Phil mentioned Tuesday he get's his miner so hopefully around then we see a miner with underclock input on input voltage.

I don't think having a ATX psu or server PSU around is a bad thing.  For me I had one laying around so I used it, always nice when you have one already.  If you buy quality it will last multiple generations.  Only suggestion I have is look at deals of ATX psu's and then server PSU's a lot of time server PSU's are cheaper anymore.

Have had enough time to get a general idea of speed on certain frequencies.  This is with a Gold EVGA SuperNova, if you have Platinum psu you likely will be a little less.  And it's on 110 so again if on 240 a little more more efficiency.

It is pretty close on efficiency no matter what freq you choose. Above is not perfect but a very good general idea from a few tests. But you are able to lower frequency if for some reason you wanted to run on a smaller PSU.  But as of now running it at default of 500 on frequency seems like best idea.

On underclock likely it is going to be input voltage that makes it possible.

I will try:

13 volts
12.5 volts
12 volts
11.5 volts
11 volts
10.5 volts
10 volts

with this psu

https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/rsp1500.pdf

and this one

https://www.trcelectronics.com/ecomm/pdf/hrp600.pdf

my gear is due on tues the 24th

That sounds great on that PSU.  Please let us know how it goes.  I'm hoping for good things with the rsp1500 one specifically.

Sounds like you picked a good PSU for sure to test with underclocking.  But can't wait to see exact amount on different voltages.
4245  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 22, 2015, 03:47:40 AM
I've noticed the avalon6 is so much quieter than my s7's

I have an s7 ducting the exhaust heat into my hvac vent to pipe heat upstairs. And the basement bedroom it's in is hard to be in

But I could easily replace it with the Avalon and be able to sleep in there

Although the sheer force of air is less on the Avalon so in this particular instance the s7 shall stay.. Till we have guests visit

I think it's another great product from them.  So far works very good, I have enjoyed having in my room to make testing easy.  Just putting in my mining area would have made it a very timely thing to go back and forth each time i want to check the kill-a-watt.

As far as some like mavericklm I think you really need to try one before having a good opinion.   It is a miner I consider tolerable for free heat which a lot of mining gear I don't consider that and just use it in my mining area. It has some features that I consider better then S7 (4 PCIe instead of 10, using a RPI, etc).   But I really don't want to turn this thread into a Avalon 6 VS S7.

It's more of a review of Avalon 6 and information.  If you have a gripe of Avalon 6 against S7 please include details.  Not just I like S7's better, etc.  Just don't want thread to go to crap on debates.

As a newbie, must be start with Faucets to understand the Bitcoin transactions and how bitcoin works.

Your better off to not waste the time.  Set up on a exchange to a checking account. I personally opened up a account just for BTC to make it easy.  Even if you just buy 5 dollars through exchange your so much better off then spending months for that same 5 dollars.  And you will be set up with a exchange which comes in nicely down the road.

If your wanting to learn look at usb miners or something like that.   Might not be profit but a LOT better way to spend time then typing capatchas and you will learn more.

173 blocks found when should of been 144

+29

20%

That is crazy never thought I would see those numbers again with size of hashrate now.   Below is bitwisdom:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    65,848,255,180
Estimated Next Difficulty:    72,222,173,626 (+9.68%)
Adjust time:    After 336 Blocks, About 2.1 days
Hashrate(?):    526,826,811 GH/s

I think i agree with those saying over 10 chances are... which is not really the way we want it to go.
4249  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are the most popular miners? on: November 22, 2015, 01:35:16 AM
I'm not investigating mining for myself.  I'm investigating how mining software evolves for a data mining project.  In order to understand that, I want to know which mining software is actually used by people worldwide to mine btc.  I understand cgminer and bfgminer are popular, but how do you know that they are the most popular ones?  Are there are any other ones that have traction as well?

I think a lot are missing OP's posts.  He is not asking about miners but the software.  Look above what he put.  It's a little confusing.

But I don't think he is looking for a miner.  I'm not sure why he want's numbers on software... but if you read it that is what it comes to.

@ Tupsu how or were do i get a discount code for zoonhash a  100 off is gonna help me a lot ? . or does that work for all right now ? .
Look at their FS thread

Depending on number looking at them I would suggest a possible group buy from BlockC and get it from the source so to speak.  They really do have good service so a group buy is not a bad idea on them.  Most of the re-sellers are getting from here and splitting up.  China is only different market.

The fact that warranty transfers if you sell them is amazing.  The good thing about BlockC is you know it is at start of 90 day warranty.  But there are some resellers also out there selling these that would come with a warranty and that is great compared to bitmain killing warranty if re-sold.
4251  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 22, 2015, 12:52:24 AM
Thanks for the video but the sound levels are impossible to believe. You sure you weren't blocking your microphone in the video.

It sounds silent. Its probably the world's quietest miner. It sounds like it makes less noise than an Antminer S3 and yet it has 3x the heat output.

And yet the miner only runs at 32C according to your screenshot.

32C seems more like the room temperature.

How long after your powered up the miner did you make this video? Maybe it was cold and quiet.

No I'm not blocking it at all.  It has been cold here though so not sure how much that effects it with it at 20 percent fan it shouldent.  I would describe it as two levels one is almost silent, and the other has a little noise to it but considering I have surround sound all around it has not really been as huge deal.   And I have enjoyed it's heat that is for sure.

Right now I'm testing a few frequencies it's taking a little bit longer testing to get more accurate numbers.   I might come back to sound after this.  But right now frequency to power is what I'm working on.
4252  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 08:17:58 PM
Nice review, will look forward how efficient it can be when underclocked, but out of the box it is weeker than S7's. How long have you waited for your miner to be delivered ?

Batch ones have started to ship i don't know numbers or any special information.  If your wondering how long it takes I would contact BlockC for majority of people, if in China it's Ehash to ask as far as shipping date with new order.   Those are the two official channels.

As far as 3rd party or re-sellers I can't give you a good estimate as so many.  But again batch 1 is shipping which is good for those people looking to order.
4253  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 07:47:31 PM
@  Notlist3d  I load up both images one from your link and there off there site i changed  my Pcs address  from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.1 loaded it up then changed it and even tried your image i wanted to see both, the soft ware, hocked me in to wanting one more then anything , because all the freedom i have with there non-water down version of openwrt ) .btw to anyone with a openwrt router that's wants to use the router over the pI, there is a .bin for it on there FTP  Roll Eyes .I load it on my openwrt router i wanted to test it . it as nice as image for the PI .

Hit the advanced button twords bottom left I beleive on main screen.  It will say switch to advanced mode or something like that.   It is shipped in like that I'm guessing to be pretty easy to install even for a new user.  But with one button click you can to go advanced mode.

But after you hit that advanced button you will have a lot more options, and the "non-watered down" version.  For advanced users you can do a lot more in this mode.
4254  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 07:33:51 PM
Question : to anyone that gets just miner does it come with all the plugs needed to plug into my own PI or do i need to buy one of there USB converters when i buy this miner ? .i have three PI's one banana pi and cubieboard pi . why spend 75 $ for another kit, when i have all i need but the miner Smiley .

The spending would be if you need a Raspberry PI model B or B+.  It is a very nice plug and play if you don't have a RPI.  BlockC did a great job on the fresh image with dhcp making it easy to setup.

If you already have the Raspberry PI model B or B+ then you are set.  I uploaded the image so you can load it and have a very quick install.  With miner comes the usb adapter that connects to the Avalon6.  And if you are running more then one you can use the wire to go from one Avalon 6 to the next.  So it essentially can make a chain of them which is a nice option.
4255  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 05:27:32 PM
Thanks for the video. It seems that A6 is a far better choice concerning sound levels. Did you have a chance to check dB from perhaps a android app?

Your welcome and I did try a few app's I did not list it in 2nd post as I have no way to verify how accurate it is.   But from 3 foot away I am reading around 58 DB.  Going to front of miner (side without fan) very close i get around 80 DB inches away from it.  And around 91 DB inches from back with the fan exhausting air.

So those are what I got but keep in mind that is with a Iphone and not confirmed on accuracy.
4256  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best trusted website to earn btc? on: November 21, 2015, 05:21:13 PM
You can earn bitcoin by surfing faucet(only faucetbox) for guaranted payment.

waste of time you should suggest him asignature campaign instead like the one you're using, which is more profitable than any faucets

Why not do both?
How can you say that I waste time claiming on faucets?
I am wasting less time on faucet than here on this forum...
But I have my fun on this forum and on faucets...
I have absolutly no fun with signature campaign...why should I then prefer signature campaign?

because you earn more per hour, or you thing that with signature you can earn only 1k satoshi in one hours

faucets can have a point if you have a bot that do the work for you, otherwise not so much

i was clicked all the time in the past those captcha like a mad man, i reach 0.03 with faucets, then i got bored to death and switched completely to signature

The capatcha kills most botting of faucets I think.  You would make less money from using a capatcha service and botting a faucet, then what you pay for solving capatcha's I'm willing to bet.

And I'm sure someone will say there are problem working ones out there that don't need the capatcha solving service.  And it could be very true but I doubt we see a general public release if there is one.

I think main thing is faucets really are a waste of time as far as what they bring in.
4257  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Diff thread Nov 11 to Nov 24 Set up stage-picks are now closed! on: November 21, 2015, 05:16:20 PM
But the gear would have to have been built first to be used in these ghost towns. To turn 100Ph/s on and off, is like 200,000 Antminer S3's. I don't think that many Antminers in total even exist on the planet.

384638 (Main Chain)   2015-11-21 15:20:06   AntPool   0000000000000000033e5efed37742ec7925ff825853ce21fbd53592c1489620

106 blocks in ~15.5 hours should be 93 blocks instead.

14% difference

Even in the last 20 minutes, 6 blocks were found.

Bitwisdom did go back up:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    65,848,255,180
Estimated Next Difficulty:    71,773,382,950 (+9.00%)
Adjust time:    After 404 Blocks, About 2.5 days
Hashrate(?):    518,513,335 GH/s

Maybe some miners got shipped and are being plugged in currently.  It would not surprise me at all.  I still hope we see less than 10 though.
4258  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 04:50:22 PM
So if you just lower freq it won't lower hashrate unless you also drop voltage? Or will it lower hashrate keeping same efficiency and lowering voltage is only way to gain better efficiency on underclock?

Trying to figure out if I can run these on my 900w 110v (1200w 220v) hp server psu's on 110 outlets

Also have a couple 1000w atx psu's laying around

You can also drop hashrate from changing chip frequency.  Seeing what it can do via frequency is on the list of to-do's.  Below shows it being set on miner:

As far as PSU as far as stock settings I would not use a 1000 watt PSU as it's pushing so close to that when running.   They recommend 1200 watt or more as far as default settings and I would agree with this.

But yes freq changing is on the to-do list for sure to add to this review.   Which has a video of sound, and a little about the free heat just added to 2nd post.
4259  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 04:11:45 PM
Glad to finally see a review!  Now I need to decide if i replace the 4.1's with these, or just get 1 A6 to add to the bunch.

It's all going vary by person.  There are some big factors like electricity price.  The A6 is a very nice upgrade on efficiency, which means cheaper electricity bills compared to older gear at same speeds which is always great.

I don't think you can go wrong upgrading.  I still do have my 4.1's I will admit I will have a hard time parting with them, but someday I will.
4260  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d on: November 21, 2015, 03:17:20 PM
These thing look sweet i hope to have one in a week or two i like having a stand along controller a lot more then a built in one .

It is a big bonus as far as if anything goes wrong.  If something goes wrong swap out easy with another RPI and no special hardware is needed.  Say you brick a S7 controller then it's not something you can buy off shelf at local store to replace like a RPI.

Also the image I posted from BlockC above is very good.  You could put flash it on a SD card and having a new controller running within minutes.
