Do people speculate that this affects the price somehow?
4242  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - China wall movement tracker on: October 26, 2013, 11:37:49 AM
So with no fees is this place just a bunch of daytraders, gamblers, and manipulators/washselling, or what?  I'm wondering how much investing actually goes on here. For the most part it seems to just follow gox.
4243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: October 26, 2013, 11:27:27 AM
Suddenly large staggered sell walls are stacked on all exchanges. It looks like someone doesn't want us to start an uptrend just yet, or they have some DEEP capitulation to do, like in May/June. I remember both sides of order books being large like this and fighting eachother in May after the conference.
4244  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has the Bubble Started? on: October 26, 2013, 08:56:21 AM
From the high and low of Mt.Gox , the rally downwards is starting, Mt.Gox high of $233 to a Low of $175, now at $192 will NOT Sustain itself the Big Whales are Dumping Big Time. They will get them to as low as possible before they buys back in. Common we need room for other coins, LTC, PPC, etc..

Maybe this whalers should drive Ltc..

The down hill will gain speeds very soon. It Goes Up Fast it will also comes Down Fast. Fasten your seat belts and get ready...
What does this have to do with LTC and PPC?
4245  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP eXchange wall Observer. second biggest and best exchange on: October 26, 2013, 03:28:28 AM
It's because stamp has low depth and buyers insist on doing doing massive market orders that cause $15 of slippage for no reason. I guess they're new to investing, or using bitfinex and it's being triggered by stop orders etc. On the subject of bitfinex, investors are also using bitfinex to place dark (hidden) buy and sell orders, which contributes to the low depth, and when someone is doing a market order, the dark order doesn't fill in on time.
4246  Economy / Speculation / Re: What! btc-e leading in volume. on: October 26, 2013, 03:20:05 AM
btce has some bots now that do these periodic spurts of hundreds of small trades per second. That's when the volume started. Watch bitcoinity and eventually you'll see what I'm saying.

Not proper timescales to take much from, but still, kind of hoped for a breakout here:

China, 1000 CNY must hold!  Smiley

It helps to look at the longer timeframes, and volume:

What's the point of that little movie?
We probably have about 30 minutes until it starts, if it starts.
Me? It's an animated gif...

4250  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will October's bubble burst? on: October 25, 2013, 07:05:06 AM
I'm getting the impression someone is needing to offload about 100,000btc and is doing it somewhat carefully.
4251  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mother of all Cups? on: October 25, 2013, 03:20:53 AM
I see perhaps a small capitulation  eventually connecting with the original july trendline and reversing around $160. On the other hand, bid depth on bit stamp and BT China are at record highs. So I don't know.

4253  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crash! on: October 25, 2013, 12:21:53 AM
Does this happen during a crash?

(before the 'crash' it was 2,400,000 and the highest it EVER was was 2,650,000)
4254  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP eXchange wall Observer. second biggest and best exchange on: October 24, 2013, 12:05:53 PM
Woohoo the bid is up to 3 million!  It looks like some serious accumulation or fiat injection occured during that drop and we are ready to move higher with bid support.
4255  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP eXchange wall Observer. second biggest and best exchange on: October 24, 2013, 11:33:56 AM
I cannot trade on a highly volatile day when every other screen I get is a DDOS error and every other click freezes. I'm seriously thinking of moving my coins off there and onto btce until they release a new trading engine.
4256  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP eXchange wall Observer. second biggest and best exchange on: October 24, 2013, 11:18:01 AM
Basically if you took any action after the market order was triggered, you were screwed.  I tried entering a sell order at 206, but no luck.  Grin
4257  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bubble Popped on: October 24, 2013, 11:16:32 AM
Bitstamp always does this after every flash crash - someone fires a 3,000btc market order into the space with no depth, and buys it higher than it originally was.  Lesson learned... always have a sell order up there. Then immediately rebuy for a 15% profit when it's over...
4258  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hardly any 'bubble' talk this time on: October 24, 2013, 10:53:39 AM
When upward movement continues on for days and days with nonstop buying, no capitulation, and no bid support, it becomes a "bubble". Then when someone sells into that scenario and causes a large correction, the bubble is popped. On the other hand, a downward move that happened into a large bid depth after a long consolidation period would not be popping a bubble.
4259  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Bubble Popped on: October 24, 2013, 10:49:37 AM
Yup the bubble popped and btc went almost all the way down to its support level. BTC grows 1000% per year.  6 months ago the support was $50 - so now its at $50 * 10^(0.5) = $158.
4260  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITSTAMP eXchange wall Observer. second biggest and best exchange on: October 24, 2013, 09:23:55 AM
The lag and DDOS/freezing at bitstamp was horrendous!  At one point I was up 10%btc on my bitstamp account but I ended the day only up 3% due to the horrendous lag and not being able to buy when I wanted. Every other screen was an error screen. Meanwhile I gained 20%btc on my btce account because their exchange worked flawlessly (and has respectable volume these days too). Conclusion: I should move all my trading coins to btce.
