Damnnnn, the sassssss.
The very first post on this forum, and you are promoting crypto exchange (wrapped up in a thread) and yet you get offended by being called for doing an obvious thing. Hell, you even said it by yourself that you are Coin Corner marketing executive. You are just doing your job I guess...but much learn you must, young padawan.

lives change when you have some BTC and its price shoot to mars. if you only have few, your life still change since you have something to watch out and pray for the price to go up.
coincorner is a philippine btc company, what is your role there? kaibigang naomi, any position available to apply for?
Her role is to promote Coin Corner exchange on bitcointalk via opening threads on Bitcoin discussion board and engaging people. By the looks of it, she is succeeding in her role ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Well, that would be very unfortunate if you were right, but I'm afraid that was exactly the case. The guy was last active yesterday here, but he didn't respond to any questions in this thread.
I didn't give him any money or merit, and yet I feel scammed in a way.
Please, OP, prove I was wrong.
Another interesting thing is his merit history and the only account (so far) he sent merit to, newbie excro. Check his post history and you will find some similarities like @excro claiming to own small electronics shop, while wnet owns hardware store, both applying to same merit giveaway threads almost one after the other etc. edit; reading this post again, bitcointalk got me really paranoid. I mean, I am naturally suspicious to everything, but this this forum brought me to a completely new level ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

If we take a look at stats in last few years we can see that usage of that word is also declining compared to year 2020, 2019 and especially 2018.
Year 2018 has 23,431 mentioning of word scammer. Year 2019 has 16,982 mentioning of word scammer. Year 2020 has 14,052 mentioning of word scammer. Year 2021 has 5,384 mentioning so far and we only have 3 months left in this year... does it mean there is a less scam and scammers in forum? Since there is constant decrease of forum activity, its kinda logical to assume that number of scammers will decrease too, as they have less potential victims, and as you said they are moving onto more "suitable" platforms like Telegram. Its pretty much the same situation in scam accusation board which is way less active this year than it was in 2020. Unless there are less scam busters this yeas and that's the cause of sharp decline in the amount of posts. (I know I am way less active on that front than I was before).

@mods that are following this thread. Yesterday I reported low value thread called 7 crypto acronyms you need to know as it was just a copy/paste of an article without providing any personal opinion. Report has been marked as good, but it's still there so I guess that you just forgot to delete it. Looking at @Nathrixxx seems like that is his MO, and more of a rule than an exception. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.postimg.cc%2FZRf06dHs%2FScreenshot-2021-09-12-at-11-05-10-Your-reports.png&t=663&c=VzedLX_d0rM1zw)

OP haven't responded with detailed information in any of his topics (I take it with a grain of salt), that's why I asked.
+1 I don't want to be a party pooper, but whole this story about him owning a hardware store and implementing LN payments in a couple of hours seems like a bullshit to me. On top of that, allegedly people immediately started paying via LN. I wish all this is true, but this looks to me like this guy knows what people here want to hear and fabricated this story in order to squeeze some easy merit. Wouldn't be a first newbie doing that..

@Nathrixxx Not a single word in your post has been written by you, as you just copy/pasted everything from that article without properly formatting the text and without adding anything of your own. Classic low value merit fishing shitpost that has been reported to the mods.

I feel like you should include this account too hyx7788(or at least a negative tag). I am pretty sure that the two accounts are owned by the same person. first she claimed that she personally visited the company and invested/bought one of the company's investment offers. You are right, hyx7788 deserves both tag and flag as its obviously an alt account of the @Ethsun so that has been sorted. And yeah, that story is a complete bullshit, very similar to the ones that can be found on Ethsun website. So, here is the Flag Type 1 on @hyx7788, please support https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2833

these two accounts(most likely created by the same person) hyx7788 and Ethsun are an obvious shills of "hkethsun"(a cloud mining platform). they are spamming their website and pretending to be different person creating threads and talking to each other. the platform is most likely a scam too. Yep, that's an obvious shilling of a scam website, and pretty bad one. I see that hyx7788 posts have been deleted already (afaik not nuked yet) while I tagged and flagged @thesun for a scam promotion as he still has one active thread in which he promotes that ETHsun website.

An obvious scam with fake photos, fake customers, fake year of establishing etc, unreasonable high ROI promises etc (~300% ROI in 6 months). @Ethsun has been tagged and flagged by me, and you can find more info about it in this scam accusation topic.

What happened: Ethsun is just another ponzi scheme pretending to offer cloud mining service. Everything about it its fake; from the year they claim to start working, pictures of their offices and "server room" to their profit model, which is unsustainably high User: EthsunFlag Type 1 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=2832ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5359267.msg57904323#msg57904323Archive: https://archive.fo/qLtRxWebsite: https://www.hkethsun.com/Archive https://archive.fo/ozrvCFirst they claim to be operating since 2014, while basic whois checkup reveals that website was made couple of months ago Domain Name: HKETHSUN.COM Registry Domain ID: 2634888836_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN Registrar WHOIS Server: grs-whois.hichina.com Registrar URL: http://wanwang.aliyun.comUpdated Date: 2021-08-19T09:05:51Z Creation Date: 2021-08-19T09:02:39Z Registry Expiry Date: 2022-08-19T09:02:39Z Then they have pictures of their offices, buildings, mining rigs etc while those are all stock photos. All in all, pure scam, that should be avoided. Therefore, OP tagged and flagged!

Newbie account talking about knowledge>merit, which looks to me like yet another merit fishing attempt. @Joy_learns_crypto is there any connection between you and EzeBitcoin2002, another newbie that came to Beginners & Help section looking for some easy merit, and plagiarizing while doing so. It's just that after I called him out for plagiarizing, he suddenly disappeared (probably expecting that I will report him which i forgot to do) and your account was created. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.postimg.cc%2FgcVWMDJ3%2FScreenshot-2021-09-07-at-20-14-42-Nigeria-Local-Board-All-board-discussion-welcomed-No-Official-La.png&t=663&c=3l0c0BKAiPyHtA) Dunno, maybe I am wrong and I am just too paranoid, but I smell BS here.

If merits are not "needed" to participate why have them?
Reason for merit system is simple; to prevent spammers and shitposters ever reaching higher ranks as before that all you had to do is write 14 posts in two weeks and eventually you reach higher ranking account that you can sell. Rinse and repeat. Or, this is how theymos put it I'm hoping that this system will increase post quality by: - Forcing people to post high-quality stuff in order to rank up. If you just post garbage, you will never get even 1 merit point, and you will therefore never be able to put links in your signature, etc. - Highlighting good posts with the "Merited by" line.
By the way, I was a lurker here for quite some time before I registered because as an introvert I like to observe things first before joining. Eventually I reached the point where I was lurking for hours on the daily basis so I thought to myself "might as well register and start actively participating".

Unreal for a Legendary to still be doing this -- they should know better by now.
What's even crazier is that he doesn't have a single post written in Italian local board, and probably doesn't even speak Italian ( I see that he used to be active in Turkish board) yet he decided to do that, regularly. Zero fucks given...

I think Mpamaegbu likely intentionally plagiarized his post. The post in question is several years old, and I am not sure if he was participating in a signature campaign at the time. IMO he is sufficiently established of a forum member that a temp ban, rather than a permaban would probably be in order. If his intention was to plagiarize, he wouldn't indicate that he took content from someplace else by writing "smuggled out snippet below" right there in the first sentence of that incriminating post. There are a lot of people who basically copy entire articles in a thread and have a citation at the bottom of the post. This is not plagiarism, but IMO is another problem as the post has virtually no original content nor commentary. The above is often not even someone summarizing an article, it is copying entire articles.
If not formatted properly that's plagiarism too (not on bitcointalk though) and low value shitpost that should be reported & deleted.

The post in question seems to be referencing the copied text as "smuggled out snippet below" so arguably Mpamaegbu was not trying to claim authorship of that text.
Nice catch, seems like almost everyone ignored this little detail, in which he says that he took it from someplace else. If he decides to appeal the ban, might even help to at least change permaban into signature ban (which I would like to see more often here), if not overturning it completely. Mpamaegbu claims to not have provided a link to the source but what actually was the source? If he copied the message from steemit and forgot to put a link, then it can be considered an error. If, on the other hand, he copypasted the post from bitcointalk, then it is blatant plagiarism because his post was not translation nor quotation.
Looking at differences between those two bitcointalk topics, the one made by Mpamaegbu lacks the part about Philippines, which is not included in either Steemit article or TG post. If he was blindly plagiarizing bitcointalk post, chances are he would copy that Philippines part too, which he didn't so i think that source is that Steemit article.

Anyone who thinks Laud is Croat is an idiot.
Yep, it's really unreasonable to think that Lauda is Croat just because he is fluent in relatively obscure language that is used by maybe 4-5 million people worldwide (understood by ~20 million, but that's another story), and hard as fuck to learn due complicated grammar.

Pretty sure over the last months it didn't work this way. Can you please check? I already performed usual, standard tests (different browser, cache things etc..)
I just tested, same here. What I don't remember though is whether thats a standard thing or not. edit: Thinking of it, I do remember though is that last month only few months were selected by default and not all, like it usually is so maybe @DdmrDdmr changed something while trying to sort that out.

Honestly, I admire you for your support to our noble cause in getting a local board. I've followed you a while, your objective suggestions are extremely helpful to us in this struggle. Cheers! I do consider local boards an extremely important part of the forum that can help spread the word about bitcoin among those that don't understand English very well. But even if you don't have issues writing/reading English, it can be of the great help nevertheless, especially at the beginning, like Croatian board was for me when I started my bitcointalk journey. Newcomers' inability to visit the local hangout could be as a result of their lack of knowledge that such a thread exists rather than that they're avoiding it, so I believe. I know the local hangout will get more visibility once a board is approved for it and a lot of Nigerians on the forum will be able to connect with their comrades and compatriots.
True that! I considered my self "power user" my first year on bitcointalk, and it took me I think couple of months before I checked what's going on in "Other Languages" section. You own local board would bring you more visibility and users, no questions about that. I can't remember the last time the admin approved a request to add a local board and what the terms were.
Looking at @tranthidung History of local boards, the last local board added was Japanese, back in November 2017, so it's been a while. Since last added board is basically dead now, no wonder that forum staff is reluctant to add new board without carefully looking into everything. In the end, I think it's up to the members of Nigerian community whether they eventually get local board; if they keep being very active, it will happen.
