4241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EBAY might accept BITCOIN on: March 02, 2022, 11:43:16 PM
This will never happen due to a lot of refund requests that they are receiving per day. I worked for ebay for quite some time and lots of refunds were always on queue. It would be hard for them to refund cryptocurrencies since they are already having problems refunding with their own localized paynent system. It would be cool if that certain rumor materialized, but these giant retail companies realized along the way that it wouldn't really work.

Just in, Virtus.Pro is threatened to be out of the gamer's galaxy since we know that VP is a Russian team and there's a war between Russia and Ukraine. Majority has given their compassion to Ukraine and has put sanctions to almost every sporting event for Russia and kicked them out.
Official Twitter of VP: https://twitter.com/virtuspro/status/1498715741478166532

This is a bit misleading. VP was asked to make a statement regarding the war and that they sympatize with Ukraine but they choose not to then they were given the options of letting their players play without the jersey because their jersey reflected Russian but they dont want to do that as well so it was their own fault for being disqualified in the first place

VP doesn't really have a choice at all. They are owned by a Russian and if they say or do anything against what Putin is doing they will be arrested, and probably 'disappear'. It's sad that even eSports is affected by this, and there's really not much we can do about it. For now, any sporting events that Russians participate in will probably have an eerie atmosphere wherein they would need to explain their stance on the current invasion, and IMO that is not a good experience at all.

As for the event, I'm kinda rooting for NGX.SEA but it'll be a tough match to find their place in.

^

The participation of bots in the voting can only be excluded by a strict selection of participants for voting, for example, only confirmed Twitter accounts can be used. If bots vote, then such voting cannot be considered valid, and everyone is well aware of this.

How do you define "confirmed Twitter accounts"?

There are bots with lots of followers, and whose tweets and engagements with other accounts seem natural. It'll be hard to screen which is which for Twitter votes, hence it will be not wise to use fan favorites on gambling, as results will always be biased and manipulated to the core.

I would personally skip these types of events, and would just go directly to the normal lines instead. It's very hard to profit on these types of lines.
4244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Dmitry Bivol - May 7 on: March 02, 2022, 02:50:34 PM
From what I've seen on some of the fights of Canelo, I can say that he's a focused and a very determined fighter. His footwork and the way he moves around the ring is very efficient, which makes his enemy spend more stamina and chase around for him. His enemy, I haven't heard much about, though for the size difference, Bivol has an advantage, but perhaps it can be used against him as well. All in all if I were to bet, it will still be for Alvarez. The dude is just methodical on his last bouts and it's hard to beat that.
4245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever subscribe to any tipser giving sports betting premium picks? on: March 02, 2022, 12:35:23 AM
I haven't. Most of the picks that they give aren't really valuable unless you're a big roller capable of betting hundreds to thousands of dollars in one event. Also, some of the 'analysis' that they do can be found on other sites being discussed by tipsters and other gamblers as well, so I don't think that paying someone to parrot or paraphrase information other people already relayed is important.

IMO, study the game and the teams, and make the analysis yourself. You keep 100% of the winnings and you won't blame anyone else for your losses.
4246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoin is going up during war? on: March 01, 2022, 04:59:13 PM
It could literally be anything right now. Perhaps people realized that bitcoin is the way to go during these times, especially those who are within those regions that are struck by this current armed conflict. Sanctions are in place, and the economy is really badly beaten, that's why they chose for alternatives. Or it could just be another random pump, but again, it could be anything under the sun, really.
4247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The state of Bitcoin during the war between Russia and Ukraine on: February 28, 2022, 07:01:16 AM
What most people do not understand is that the market for Russia only closed mostly in the West, while still having free access in the East where the Asian market resides. Also, sooner or later, Europe will want to have its supply of Russian oil back if their supply dwindles and no other option is out there. It's not a dead-end for Russia just yet, but I do agree that if their current situation against Ukraine goes on for long, they couldn't afford it and may have their economy crumble so hard.

As for bitcoin and crypto, the only 'decline' that I saw was within the first few hours of the invasion. Afterwards, it went normal from there. The ones who sold on a panic on February 24 were probably those who are afraid that the armed conflict will affect cryptocurrencies, but it didn't. Right now, bitcoin and crypto appears to be unbothered by what's happening in Ukraine. A few swings here and there but nothing too major, unlike on the 24th which is understandable.
4248  Economy / Gambling / Re: Would you support a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms? on: February 28, 2022, 05:19:23 AM
At this point, it's like we're against all Russians when in fact it's only Putin and his cronies who are trying to make something out of their invasion of Ukraine. Also, it's not as if gambling platforms from Russia are well known or are popular amongst gamblers here, so I don't think boycotting the select few that still exists and operates would make much difference. Not every Russian aligns their ideals with what Putin is doing, so a collective boycott on Russian services and whatnot wouldn't really do something to change the dictator's mind.
4249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 28, 2022, 01:54:07 AM
After watching the semi finals yesterday it feels like G2 should take it all the way, on the other side Faze also have the momentum and even with a standin it's still impressive that these guys got this far.

I'll probably go with G2 later even if the odds seem skewed, as I view this series as a tossup since both teams haven't dropped a map so far. Hopefully, they take the first map so they could secure the insurance promo on stake.  Smiley

Yeah I agree, G2 looked like the stronger team during the playoffs. Beating NAVI in the Semifinals came as a big surprise to me, especially winning confidently 2-0 with no overtime. Usually my NAVI pick pays off better  Smiley Just not sure if I should place a last minute bet now on G2, with 1.5 G2 seems like the strong favourite of the game. Maybe a small bet at these odds on Faze is better payout.

It was a shocker that Na'Vi lost against G2, but knowing what the team is going through, with the war and stuff that's going, it's understandable that they may not be as focused as they were on previous tournaments. G2 was cold-blooded on their bout against Na'Vi, but can't seem to find any openings against Faze. That odds kinda tempted me to go into G2, but just didn't bet at the last minute due to hesitations and glad that it was the right call.

G2 started good, but the end gave Faze a clean 3-0 win. It was a big slip for G2 missing the win after a great comeback. This was the first time in IEM Katowice a North American and Australian player had ever won an Intel Extreme Masters championship. From Twitter, G2 have planned to remove Manek as coach and replace him with XTQZZZ.

I was about to punch myself after seeing that great comeback, but man I was relieved when they cannot convert it to a win.

4251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bounty Campaign a Sustainable way to grow your Crypto Community? on: February 26, 2022, 11:32:45 PM
It's one part, but it's not a one-step formula to success. Most crypto communities grew not only because of bounty campaigns, but also because of what they actually offer to the community. You can't expect to have a smooth community through bounty campaigns if what your product/token/whatever is basically not really worth it, or does not add value to those who wishes to purchase it. Before you get successful on bounty campaigns, you must first have a project that has substance, and people can really enjoy.
4252  Economy / Economics / Re: China's strategy on the Ukraine invasion war on: February 26, 2022, 10:38:12 PM
China has a lot of reasons to go and invade Taiwan right now. The West is busy with Russia and they cannot afford to handle to fronts at the same time, and even if they could, it would be costly and I don't think they would want to empty their pockets on this one alone, especially if the benefits in the end isn't that great from them. Russia will have to fight the Ukrainians, which are showing extreme resilience and are being supplied with weapons and funded by NATO. Zelenskyy's also good at boosting the morale of the civilian fighters and his soldiers with the way he handles the crisis.
4253  Economy / Economics / Re: Ban Russia from SWIFT! Protect Ukrainian Sky! Send NATO to Ukraine! on: February 26, 2022, 09:18:27 PM
Russia still have access to the markets in China and Asia, so even if the West bans SWIFT and imposed sanctions on the country, they will still find a way to finance this war they're waging on. Also, it seems that China is with Russia on what's happening in Ukraine, too, and they are ready to send some support to Russia in terms of money if it comes to that. Europe can't also afford to stand against Russia for too long, as they need that oil from Russia as well. Sanctions will hurt Russia a lot, but Europe and the West would also be hurt in some ways, too.
4254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You Must be Over 18 years on: February 26, 2022, 08:05:59 PM
They won't know unless you let them. It's basically just telling them, "I swear I'm old enough to play this game" not until they ask for IDs and all that stuff. If they are to collect personal information without you knowing, or even asking for your consent, you can file a case against them or even sue them. Casinos right now would be asking for basic information on their players when the time comes that they need to withdraw, so one way or another, they will know.
4255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: February 25, 2022, 06:39:34 PM
Rooting for Gambit on today's games. They have received a lot of backlash from the gaming community, but in reality they can't really do anything to condemn the invasion since they are also under Russian management. The team's morale surely would have been shred to pieces after all the hate, but they're still a beast team and I hope they don't let it get to their heads.
4256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CrazyTime and Monopoly, should we trust? on: February 25, 2022, 12:59:39 PM
It's just fun to watch the outcome of these games, but no I don't trust nor plan to bet on these games. Even if someone regularly checks on the live roll's authenticity and veracity, they can be paid too, in order to rig the game. Though most auditors and verifiers of these games are reliable most of the time, you can never be sure if their participation on audits is already paid. Everything has a price. I'll stick to my casino games and sports betting, I guess.
4257  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The way things are going with new crypto is worrisome on: February 25, 2022, 11:08:40 AM
I knew a lot of people that does this, too. I know they are not really experienced in handling such projects but still created cryptocurrencies, and marketed them heavily to pump the price and dump them afterwards. Most of these crypto that they create are copies of other obscure cryptos that they name on what's the current hype in the space. It's somehow working and people still believe them due to their gullibility, that's why they keep on doing the same shit over and over again.
4258  Economy / Economics / Re: Justin Trudeau's Crackdown Will Make Bitcoin and Cash More Popular on: February 25, 2022, 09:47:50 AM
It will be a slow downfall for cash, and IMO it might take at least another decade before people completely shift to something else other than cash. Mobile payments are slowly making their way into the society, and so far they are being accepted quite nicely. Regarding crypto, however, it will take a lot of getting used to before people recognize its potential on counteracting such moves from the government.
4259  Other / Archival / Re: Gambling in Wartime ⚽ 🏈 🏀 🎾 🎰📈🚀💥 on: February 25, 2022, 02:25:44 AM
It'll be hard for sporting events to continue as normal, and I don't think it's the best time to bet on sports too. Leagues outside Europe may still be bet on but right now, it's certain that a lot of events will be cancelled due to the ongoong Russian-Ukraine conflict. Also, if you are near the hot zones, I wouldn't really use my money on betting and just safekeep them, or at least stock up on essentials now. Gambling would be the least of my priorities til then.
4260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy Bitcoin, You'll Thank Me Later - Mexican Billionaire Says on: February 24, 2022, 06:51:02 PM
Buying bitcoin and alts as of this moment is very dangerous as most people from those regions are cashing out as hard as they can. Countries that are affected by the conflict will have their currencies go down hard, and it's not a funny sight. For sure, the Russians have also stocked up on foreign currencies as well to fund their invasion, and perhaps gold too. This conflict will not end pretty well if the aggression and tension goes over the roof.
