4245  Other / Meta / Re: [REQ] Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian section in the "Other Languages" forum. on: December 20, 2014, 03:43:30 PM

I don't know why that still exists on wikipedia

but the EU only reckognized Croatian as the official language

They don't write Cyrillic in their current thread. And I can't see the reason why you wouldn't understand what they're saying (I'm talking about Serbs).

I see, I'm saying I can understand their latin lettering
but I find it tiring to keep reading it

if they want to, they can read the material from our thread

but as I see, India has their own board

altough their official language is English, which they also speak in the board

I don't see why our threads/boards would join together
4246  Other / Meta / Re: [REQ] Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian section in the "Other Languages" forum. on: December 20, 2014, 03:26:10 PM
Yes. The languages are very, very similar. Name it simply "Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian", I dunno.

Language sections are named "[local name for language] ([English name for language])". Is Hrvatski the correct name for the language(s) in all three languages? If not, what are the three words for the languages in the three languages? Or is there some other single word that means "Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian"?

Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian would translate to Hrvatski/Bosanski/Srpski
Same translation for each language.
EXYU would be right for all the countries from Yugoslavia which speak similar languages. I've seen a few forums which have that section instead of specific for each of those countries. Maybe that could work?

please do not, I'm tired of everyone putting us in the same basket, this only makes it worse

I can handle Croatian/Bosnian but EXYU or Croatian/Bosnian/Serbian no, there will be people writing in cyrillic and neither Croats or Bosniaks understand that lettering

besides, in Bosnia, Croats are one of the 3 nations so I don't see a problem why Bosniaks wouldn't read a thread in the official language of their country (Croatian,Bosnian,Serbian)

Also Croatian and Bosnian are 90% the same (differences in months like they use english words aka. Februar for February while we use Veljača), but Serbian language differs in almost all words in pronunciation and spelling besides the words for months etc. (all simmiliar words are different, for example we say mlijeko, they say mleko), we can understand them but I find it tiring to keep reading that language
not to mention different words like we say we say mrkva, they say šargarepa, we say željezo, they say gvožđe..

I don't mind having the same thread with Bosniaks, since I can't even notice a difference if I'm speaking to someone from Bosnia or Croatia

either monero, stellar or even shitty coins

start a new thread, and make it right

4259  Other / Off-topic / Re: Family tree on: December 14, 2014, 08:41:43 PM
I'm thinking of creating a physical family tree I could hold in my hands
However I would like to be able to pass it on, so information could be added on later (trough generations)
Any ideas how this could be done?  Undecided

From my experience, the best was to do this is to make family tree online, on specialized services (like myheritage).
In this way, many pother people can find you online, your possible relatives or descendants, your data will never be lost and your family tree anybody can edit (if they have some info about your family tree).

I know

but it's not a physical thing

and websites go down as fast as they go up

that's why I would like to make something that would last for generations
4260  Other / Off-topic / Re: Family tree on: December 13, 2014, 12:28:08 PM
that's not what I'm aiming for, I'd like to write something about each member of the tree

a book would be nice, but there's no way to add additional info later

P.S it doesn't have to look like a tree Cheesy
