4241  Economy / Economics / Re: Money as a store of value... on: April 01, 2023, 02:14:43 PM
I beg to disagree with you on the barter system of old as not a store of value, what they use in exchange for another could indeed be a store of value, we should not overemphasise money, it's just a liquid asset used in exchange for what we trade, just like the olden days. They trade something for something, and what they trade is valuable, which is why they could trade it. There are many other assets you could bring for another, you may store them as well depending on the longevity of that thing.
Maybe more to the age of the system. I apologize if there is a mistake, because if the barter tool used is gold, until now gold still has a high value and can be said to be a store of value. Maybe what I said refers to a barter system other than gold, silver, or other valuables which are no longer used as valuable investment items.
It's okay pal, we learn daily, and at times, our minds might slip on some things, and they are what we could naturally correct on a second thought. However, many more things than gold and silver could be valuable, and land, some types of clothes, and other valuables could. Also, dried foods and palm oil for example could even be a store of value, some are kept for certain seasons in which their prices would have skyrocketed, which could then be exchanged for more goods instead of the old value of the goods they were exchanging them for.
4242  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Being drunk while trading what was your experience on: April 01, 2023, 10:51:54 AM
-snip-
I know it's crazy but I think there are really traders who can perform well while they are drunk. Have you seen the movie drunken master? The main character becomes really good at karate by the time he drank a lot of beer and get drunk. The same thing I was talking about there. I heard there's also writers who becomes very creative when they take drugs.

For some it can be coffee and alcoholic beverages. Sometimes we only need to experiment if what beverages or substance works best for us. There are drunk people who are still very conscious about their surroundings so it may be different from half asleep but I don't think someone can function well if they are half asleep.
I think there are some condition where it's still possible for someone to make a good decision while they are using drugs or drinking alcohol. At this point they are still in the early stages where relaxation or euphoria still allows them to be able to control themselves well. But after they enter stage 3 where the next drunken stage will make them lose concentration and lose body control and lose balance.

In the first and second phase, trading is possible respectively because usually these stages still allow one to make good decisions. But not after they entered the next phase. Relaxing is a good state to make decisions, this is also usually needed by traders when they are too tired.
Human beings are different, and those that are used to stimulants might make the right decision through that. This was why I never totally condemn the act of drinking while trading in my first reply on this thread, it had worked for me too. However, this must be done in moderation to help the person actualize what they truly know about trading and the determination to do it. This should not also be a habit so that it will not cause addiction of any guise.

Above all, prior quality trading experience is needed for any stimulant to work for you, it can't do magic.
4243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: April 01, 2023, 09:57:44 AM
We start the Premier League with a hot game that is Manchester City vs Liverpool.A single error from Manchester City during this game and I think it will be a definite game over for the title race for them.

On a side note,on April's fool day I always love what theymos comes up with  Grin.

These guys will definitely not be kidding on the field today, if City lose it could be the end of their hopes of catching up with Arsenal. The absence of Foden is not as critical for the team as the absence of Haaland, who showed a phenomenal game in recent matches. The match will start in a few hours, a good start to the weekend, I hope Haaland will play and we will see a lot of goals.
With my speculation, it might have been late for Man City to win the trophy this season, it's destined to be in the hand of Arsenal. Despite their (Arsenal) ups and downs, they are still finding their way higher with grace, they can't be equalled by Man City anymore, especially at this time that the league is almost over.

As for Haaland, the last news I read from Pep Guardiola is that his status is inclusive and his fitting assessment will determine whether he plays or not. Let's wait and see how it unfolds.

4244  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Alert DuelBits Scam $1100 on: April 01, 2023, 09:44:29 AM
There is no reasonable person that will support you in this quest, you should have known their terms and conditions before sending the money. Although you might have been depositing and withdrawing money before without the IDs and KYC request, it's at the discretion of the company to ask you at any time. You should have read their terms and conditions before depositing your money or wholly believing that you can bet all the time without KYC.

Better still, if you do not want to disclose your identity, you might have used a casino that clearly states "No KYC," not a duly registered and regulated one like Duelbits.

4247  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and others urge AI pause, citing 'risks to society' on: March 31, 2023, 12:08:04 PM
We are in a new era where technology might be fully exploited, but caution is advised. Before now, I'd iterated a lot of problems it could cause in the process of trying to solve some. This is not new to me and many more issues will still arise, not only with AI but also with the development of robots. The issues have not started rising, they could be severe and detrimental over time and would affect almost all aspects of life including jobs, way of living and many more.

There is a need for its regulation, but should still be well-researched to see if they are indeed dangerous and could be regulated or not.
4248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any casino site offer Ludo game? on: March 31, 2023, 11:42:37 AM
Ludo is not attractive to me and I don't play it in real life if a casino should include Ludo in their games it may not attract many players to the said casino and that is why we have limited to zero ludo game casinos.
Still confused as to how reasonable it is to have LUDO games on casino sites but it must be accepted that LUDO is a huge entertainment game. And in real life one can hardly find a person who doesn't play LUDO. But we don't know how much impact this will have on the casino site.  Maybe it's not related to casino sites so casino sites don't put LUDO on their site even though LUDO is a huge popular game.
It will be so reasonable to put the ludo game in casinos, but I don't think they would want to do that. No controversy, the game is good for the brain and entertaining at the same time. But it might be difficult for casinos to put it in their pile of games because it's too fair, there is no way they can maintain "the house win" in this regard.

Therefore, it might be disadvantageous to them to associate with such a fair game.
4249  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do trading in forex gives us 1:1000 or more leverage on: March 31, 2023, 09:29:19 AM
Leverage of a thing is like a two-edged sword, it could work for you or against you. Also, it depends on the strategy and accuracy of trading of the trader, yet it would be appropriate to mention that leverage is better reduced for better account planning and safety. There is no way a trader would call himself a good manager of his account with high leverage, it's certainly detrimental to the success of such a trader.

Some desperate brokers will allow as much as 1:3000 leverage, I wonder what a reasonable trader would do with that. Conclusively, the best leverage should not be higher than 1:200 if such traders are planning their money and risk management properly.

You thought it like me, we can't believe what we always read these days again, many of them that had betrayed the truth of people after confessing to the cruise or the gimmicks can't make the sensible people believe these players and celebrities anymore. They will even show you the ticket and all the necessary proofs, but surely that is just an internal machination that remains an agreement with them.

I don't believe this, and neither did I believe Drake's bet on Argentina in the WC.

4251  Economy / Economics / Re: Money as a store of value... on: March 31, 2023, 08:37:26 AM
Before there was money, in ancient times they still used the barter system, whatever the barter was, it depended on the agreement of both parties. But the barter system cann't be declared a store of value, because it has no future value and only has value in the past. So that currency emerged as a tools of payment, a store of value, and as a medium for pricing an item.
I beg to disagree with you on the barter system of old as not a store of value, what they use in exchange for another could indeed be a store of value, we should not overemphasise money, it's just a liquid asset used in exchange for what we trade, just like the olden days. 4252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you got rid of to accumulate Bitcoin on: March 30, 2023, 12:18:18 PM
As much as we might want to take part in the blessings of Bitcoin, we should take it gently and be sensible about it. You should not be so desperate to sell anything in your way simply because you want to buy Bitcoin. Landed property is an asset as well, I might only consider selling about 20% of it if I so much desire to invest more in the coin.

Thankfully, no need for that as I've been in the investment environment for many years before Bitcoin, so it has been calming me. And when I know about the coin, I just moved some money there without selling any property.

I've also been sending spare money regularly to own more of it, but under ease.
4253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 30, 2023, 08:18:43 AM
I never expected things to turn around so quickly but somehow Arsenal have shown they are strong title contenders. Arteta turned things around for Arsenal in 3 seasons which is very very impressive and important for the club, it shows how much he has learnt and is evolving and mastering the art of team management.
Arsenal have enjoyed an extremely productive season, all thanks to Arteta. Mikel Arteta has the potential to go down as one of Arsenal's greatest-ever managers. He’s done more than i expected. I like his enthusiasm and motivation to win every game. Arsenal for this period has revived the club philosophy. It is clear to see that Arsenal are a tight knit group, and often taking to social media to pose together after their victories.
There is nothing that has a beginning without an end, that's the case of Arsenal, the bad moments have expired and welcome to the good era. I hope they will be able to sustain this because is their most spectacular season in many years back. Besides, I will not like anyone to give Arteta all glory, the squad delivering good results for him deserves some praise too for their well-done jobs.

They should try to maintain this, particularly at the time that Man City has wasted a chance recently to the advantage of the gunners.
4254  Economy / Gambling / Re: What else should an established crypto casino add? on: March 30, 2023, 07:01:43 AM
That is the fate of a gambler to always winning not minding when the bad day would come.
The fate of the gambler, or you meant the hope/dream? The fate of most gamblers I know is losses, except the few that are patient and have the strategy and plan to gamble and gain consistently even if it's little. Many gamblers think it's an avenue to get so rich within a short time but the reality always proves them wrong.

Gambling is not easy, the more you believe you can win, the more you lose. But when you relax and have a good approach to doing it, your smile may not know a limit.
4255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: March 30, 2023, 06:33:05 AM

Whether the CBDC is accepted it not, I do not think it'll enhance the economy or reduce the current inflation.
It is not a crypto currency afterall. But I think it'll be easier to adopt the CBDC as legal tender than to adopt crypto currency.
CBDC is developed by the government of course it will be adopted as an alternative to the real fiat we use right now. Basically, it's what we are going to be using, it's going to be normalized and we can use it anywhere including gambling online.

But they do have digital control of your spending, if they see you spend more on gambling I guess they can turn off your app to not work on casinos and you can only buy Mcdonald's chips.  Grin
I don't think that the control that they wish to gain is to safeguard users or to prevent them from losses or spending a lot of money on gambling or anything else, but their primary goal will probably be to impose taxes on the users based on their financial activities, and if we use CBDCs, we will literally give them the right to keep an eye on our expenses and finances.

Soon after CBDCs are accepted in gambling and many other places, they will start trying to remove the usage of cryptocurrencies or decentralized digital coins like Bitcoin since they are totally against their goals.
The world is revolving, there is nothing anyone can do about that, CBDC will be the order of the day soon, it will only be wise that everyone gets ready for it. This will bring the world closer when it comes to money and finances, and this will more effectively oversight transactions to avoid many illegal flows that are happening now.

What you have explained is all correct and you are one of the few that truly understand the situation and mean well for society.
4256  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: March 30, 2023, 06:22:16 AM
Every good investor should always think and prepare for backup. If for instance bitcoin crashes today, i wont be rich but i will never be poor because bitcoin investment is not my only source of income. When i invested in bitcoin, i did not
invest with all my savings.

Most newbies who don't know really understand bitcoin investment pattern will want to invest all their money without any side hustle and become so stranded when bitcoin crashes.
you say the right things and I support your thoughts.I also never focus on just one asset, because anything can happen at any time. There should always be various reserves in various sources that can provide additional guarantees for our investments and income. And the sooner people realize this, the better it will be.
I think splitting your money to different investment is a must. We should not only focus on one investment because we arent 100% sure on the things that may happen. If bitcoin crash today I wont be that poor because I know how to save. I dont invest all my money in bitcoin because I know that there's still possibility of something bad that may happen on its value given the fact that its a volatile currency.
You are so right, and I've read from many Bitcoin lovers on this forum that advice anyone that cares to listen to have another source of investments aside from the coin. This is because everyone should be prepared for eventualities of any sort. This does not necessarily mean that the coin would crash or be outdated, but the price at times might not be favourable for the plan of the holders.
4257  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to use crypto to miximize profits through sport betting. on: March 29, 2023, 11:42:48 AM
Do you want to maximize your profits while betting on sports but don't know where or how to start? Crypto is rapidly going traction as an investment opportunity, and now you can use digital currency while playing all type of sport betting
Well said, you have shown enthusiasm for crypto and also shown others the way, but have you considered the risk thereof? First, gambling is risky, you can lose all your money in it, especially when you have a good amount in there, it might get you to continue to bet and lose regardless, and the end might not be good.

Second, almost all casinos are centralised, I will be the last person to advise anyone to use them as a safekeeping avenue for crypto under any guise.

4258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 29, 2023, 07:59:38 AM
Let's do some math.

Napoli has a 19-point lead. We are on day 28 and there are 10 rounds of games left.
There are 30 points up for grabs, so if the gap remains the same for 4 weeks, Napoli have mathematically won.
With the wide gap between Napoli to Lazio which is their closes contender, it's clear that the club has won this season's trophy. Not only because of that, but because their key players are so fit and void of injuries towards the end of the season. They will continue to win most of their matches, at least 75% of them, so nothing could drop them from being the winner of this season.

But I doubt if they will replicate this next season, especially as they are planning to sell Victor Osimhen that has been their most appreciated player for the season.

4259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A victory for Bitcoin on: March 29, 2023, 07:38:14 AM
Wake up my friend, I just disregarded the guy when I read the news and verified it on his Twitter page. The guy is dreaming, nothing more. See, Bitcoin has a big name now, it can't behave haphazardly anymore, and his conspiracy theory and that of others that copied him afterwards are not what would sustain our beloved Bitcoin, the truth, fairness and market reality is what would sustain it.

I own a sizable number of Bitcoin after joining BTT, but this will not stop me from facing the reality. As an investor, what Balaji iterated could only happen in his imagination and dreams.

Bitcoin is now a well-accepted global asset, it can't behave crazily to sustain its status. And for the fact that there is more involvement of institutional investors would make it behave more like a market/asset, rather than what Balaji envisaged. It can never happen in that short time.
4260  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor and Rich on: March 29, 2023, 07:17:00 AM
We all know the quote "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer" I heard this quote when I was in high school now I'm grown up. I always wondering why?

Is it that the rich have already wealth the day they are born? Have savings and investment?

While the poor doesn't have any of those?

The point is I started in low before having some savings and investment. I'm not saying I'm already rich but I can say that I'm better than before. Can you guys share your ideas with this topic.
Why are the rich getting richer? Because for them the money will work for them. With lots of money, investment, business, everything the rich can run because they have large capital and ultimately profits continue to increase.

Why are the poor getting poorer? Because they don't dare to take risks for new opportunities. With their less income, they choose to buy their daily needs instead of opening a new business.

Born into a rich or poor family, it is a privilege that we can't choose. We can only respond to any situation that occurs wisely.
I think this lies in our environment so that it influences the mindset. so that many rich people are getting richer, and poor people will remain poor, because they associate with the poor and do not want to experience change, so that their lives will continue to stagnate and be in continuous poverty. therefore we must choose an environment to associate with, even though we are poor but if we associate with people who are rich in mindset, then we will have broad insight to become rich
Fine, the environment is a weighable factor that affects the status of anybody, but we should not use that as an excuse. This is because there are people that made it but were from an unspeakable environment which should have influenced their thinking and status, but they fought it and broke forth. It's a disaster to be comfortable in a bad situation, if it's the environment that causes it, then change it.

Many people had the determination and give it all it takes to make it in life despite their poor/unfavoured foundation, and now they have indeed made it.
