4241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 12, 2018, 07:09:22 PM
Opening/closing a channel is done by a bitcoin transaction on bitcoin network. Haven't you heard of bitcoin tx fees?

Yes yes, I know... which is why I'm admitting my initial experiments with going hog-wild funding channels, willy-nilly, was an ill-conceived idea.

Going to need to re-think the game-theory of this.

I think eventually LN will develop a fee market just the same as on chain transactions have.  But the main difference is a single on chain transaction drives as many LN transactions as you have the channel open for.  So if you handle lots of transactions you can spread the cost, and also your profit over the entire batch.

Right now the LN is probably not exactly super active.  So you are incurring a fee to just play with it.

In a sense LN brings a sort of decentralized bank layer to the blockchain.  Complete with teeny little interest.

Buy the neckline breakout of the inverted head and shoulder pattern around $8,893 and sell when it hits $10k.

Woohoo! Reversal is near!

Close to a Morning Star pattern in the weekly:

Very hopeful.  And I am rooting for it.

But the week has a long way to go, and we would probably want this week's candle to close over 10k.

Tall order?

8440..IMO this weeks ATH

Your already wrong. LOL Of course.
Hi Cuck. Time for you to call this weeks ATH

Just here for mere hours and you make yourself a fool.  Your predictions already in shambles.  And yet another sexually insecure idiot using the word "Cuck".  It reveals a lot about who you are.

But don't worry...  on the next downswing you will be able to dance around and act like you predicted it.

Then it will go back up again.

I'll be looking for that 2k floor this week.  Shoot I'll give it 'till next Sunday night.

OMG. I call it how I see it. And I bet that's something you will never do, cos the only thing you seem to be able to do is hate on ppl.
If I'm so useless, please ignore me.

I believe I called you a "sexually insecure idiot".  Pretty sure that is calling it like I see it.

As to your request to be ignored...  Granted.

8185 gonna get broken soon

The neeto thing about using a sockpuppet is the lack of accountability...  If you happen to be right you can prance around gloating.  But when you are wrong, you can just slink back into the shadows, and fire up the next sock puppet for round 2.  Or 3... or 300?

But your screenshot gives us some clues Wink

Running win 7 with a minimalist win95 sort of theme and firefox.  Makes you late forties... early 50s.  And how's the weather in New Zealand?  Because I know it would be pretty damn cold there in that part of Russia that Ms. Palin can see from her back porch.

So according to you, no-one should make price predictions, because they may offend you, or be correct?? (and that would offend you too)
And while you are trashing my screenshot , please do explain in detail what you consider either incorrect or inaccurate , or even non importance (with reasoning) , otherwise your bitter BS just became even more transparent.

Here, here's a nice fresh cup of crushed bull soul on ice...do enjoy  Wink

You are putting words in my mouth you goofball.  Of course I do not mind price predictions.  I do not even mind bearish ones.  In fact I think there is a great deal of chance we are not done going down.  I do personally see 2k to be a bit of a stretch, and I think we might confirm a reversal sooner than later.  It is just the taunting tone I dislike.  And the passive aggressive "Taunt/What? am I not allowed to speculate?" BS is annoying.

But your bullshit is many times better than the endless blather about Hitler and Jews.

In fact I would add 100 beartrolls like you for each bigot we could purge.

Please continue...

4247  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 11, 2018, 09:20:41 PM
I communicated poorly. It's not really that that I hate. It's that shitcoins get boosted up when bitcoin goes up and quality projects go down when bitcoin goes down. Bitcoin going up shouldn't make your worthless garbage product more valuable. It's completely unrelated. It should be completely unrelated anyway. I feel like peoples obsession with bitcoin is subsidizing garbage. They treat the entire sector like its one homogeneous blob and not tons of very different projects.

I believe this current situation is unsustainable.  Eventually a handful, or perhaps one project will have gobbled up most of the good ideas as well as the misplaced wealth currently in all the other ideas.

IMHO, the salient question is whether Monero survives or gets gobbled up... and if it's the second path?  When?

good time to buy
Yes, better get in before we see the anon flippening becoming real. This is not an investment advise, only my personal view of things.
What do you mean by anon flippening?
4250  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 10, 2018, 02:55:41 PM
Ok I'm a couple of paragraphs into this MoneroV-Roadmap and I can say with certainty this is complete fud.

Quote
For example, Monero's infinite coin supply

Quote
MoneroV adheres to core Austrian school of economics principles and caps the total amount of XMV coins that can be created to 256 million

Ha, this is the funniest part, calling Moneros supply infinite and then having such a high supply. When will Monero supply reach 256 million? In the year 100 million?  Cheesy

But all these forks really put Monero up there with BTC even more, now that we get our own line of scam forks.  Smiley

Yes.  this is a great point.  10 Merit sent! Wink

In the year 2100 there would be 31,456,000 XMR  vs ~8 times as many  MCASH (MoneroV haha).

Even in the year 3500 there would still be less XMR than "XMV".
4251  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 10, 2018, 03:12:39 AM

I'm not going to trust Trex due to them shutting down US and the fact I think the market will become rational soon and it will go Gox when USDT goes boom.

I *think* you are confusing Bittrex and Bitfinex?

I think you are correct! Smiley

AFA Bittrex, I saw quite a few issues with withdrawals when checking them out so never rechecked. Has that been addressed or am I misremebering that as well? Cheesy
Well... its purely anecdotal but I have had exactly ZERO problems with Bittrex.  To be honest I am not sure why they don't have more volume.  Verified accounts can withdraw 100BTC at a time.

But seriously YMMV... I have done very little volume with them.

I think anyone who buys a pen worths thousands of dollars is a little bit mentally retarded.

Useful artwork is retarded?  Maybe you're  just poor.  I have 2 cigarette lighters that together are worth well over $10k.  I assure you that I am no where near mentally retarded.  Small scale Lambo's.  That's all.  I don't smoke.  Maybe I need a pen...
Or maybe hes just recognizes spending $10K on a pair of lighters or owning lighters worth that much is pretty fucking stupid. I dont care If someone bought BTC in 2010 and are worth 8 figures, respectable people dont go around calling people poor because they dont buy $3000 pens or $5000 lighters.
Welcome noob.  FYI not many of us here are worried about being respectful... Wink
4254  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Moreno Speculation on: February 06, 2018, 09:30:44 PM
Question is of xmr could recover from this ?

(1)No. Moreno is likely headed back to its ICO price; and may remain at sub-$20 for a while —if it survives as a cryptocurrency.

(2)Afraid cannot suggest any viable cryptocurrency as a stable investment during 2018-2020.

(3)Historically, when any asset bubble bursts, the unwinding bear market typically lasts 2 years on average (from peak price to ultimate low); and usually erases 80%-90% in value; see here:
http://www.thebubblebubble.com/historic-crashes/

Applying the same metrics to the cryptocurrency bubble, it would suggest Bitcoin at sub $1000 by Christmas 2018 or Easter 2019.
From late 2019 to early 2020, the second generation of cryptocurrencies ought to emerge as viable long-term investments; however this time, with stable growth, purpose fit technology, robust secure exchange platforms and real adoption —not parabolic exuberance.

4.  Paradoxically, a volatile and rapid appreciation of a currency, is a failed currency. By definition, currencies are supposed to be recognized, accepted and stable mediums of exchange —not just another speculative boom-bust asset class.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2711461.0

1.  Monero never had an ICO.  This reveals you do not know what you are talking about.
2.  Then what the hell are you doing here?  Trying to save us from ourselves?  Talking your book?  This calls your motivation into question.
3.  Maybe, Maybe not.  Work your crystal ball... make a fortune.
4.  Your definition of a currency is very much the liberal-econ-professor/Jorge Stoffli/Paul Krugman sort of Keynsian-esque mindset that Bitcoin was created to destroy.

Who are you anyway?  Why are you here spreading fear, uncertainty and doubt?  What is your motivation?

Don't answer.  Those are rhetorical.  We see through you.  And some of us are glad you're here. Wink

Anyone hear from Rosewood Rosewater ? I'm concerned the dude is passed out in a ditch somewhere, completely obliterated on scotch.
He'd say something about not being able to afford scotch anymore and only having enough for Ripple...

...oh, wait.
4256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 06, 2018, 05:01:19 AM
The sentiment on the forum perplexes me. When its at a high everyone is super bullish and when its down 70% (where there is always a huge bounce) the forum is super bearish. I thought all the super smart bitcoin people here would be better than that.

Not everyone is talking.  Not everyone is telling the truth.

Who sold at the bottom?

We don't know that yet... Sad

It's happening! The bottom is in! (maybe)

As a seasoned and professional power-top, I would council caution at this juncture. Possibly use the safe-word. (maybe)

Cacao to cacao!

What is a pool though? just need the pool software and you can run one. So banning people is irrelevant, aside of inconvenience or more likely they don't want the criminal association.

There's more to a pool than just software, though.  You need to get people to mine with you.
So who here thinks the bot-herders are going to set up a pool of their own?
I mean, it's possible.  There are probably enough bot-herds to make a pool.  But is herding bot-herders like herding cats?

If you are a bot herder you can just use your own pool.  I am sure they set them up.
4260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: February 02, 2018, 02:19:20 PM
Because it's been doing it for 9 years, getting stronger every time.  It would be beyond strange for it to just. stop.

Yup.  And it is fun to see the wider world get to experience it's first bitcoin thrills.  I have not looked at the headlines, but I imagine they will be at peak gloom about now.  Paul Krugman probably woke up with a hard on for the first time in years.

The only thing that worries me is how bullish I currently feel about both Bitcoin and Monero. :\  Could be bad luck?

How's everyone doin' this morning?

Oh and to johnalan - congrats on your ascension.  I have had several of those myself.  But I am still not 100% immune to the breathtaking experience of this ride we are all on...
