4241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long did it take for Satoshi to make the blockchain? on: March 15, 2015, 01:19:44 AM
Not much is known as to how long it really took him to make but a lot of code sure has gone into making Bitcoin and made it completely open source so everyone in the future can also edit made copy's and make their own pretty amazing could of made closed and not done but so much has come since BTC and many brothers and sisters of Bitcoin and many clones some really good ones and too many scam or just pump dump BS. Would be Nice for satoshi to come back and give a nice chat and some statements and a massive update to what he did why he created it and left. Satoshi come back and give updates and make some more new coins.

talking about clone coins, most people know ltc, doge, drk, nmc and all others, but what was the second coin after bitcoin? can't find much about it. and was it a 1:1 clone or did it have improvements.
4242  Economy / Speculation / Re: What was the starting price of Bitcoin? on: March 15, 2015, 01:11:27 AM
The lowest price bitcoin was sitting at on an online exchange at the very beginning was around $0.06, with a flash low of $0.01.

If you scroll right back to the start of the Mt Gox chart on tradingview it shows that brief spike down to $0.01

https://www.tradingview.com/e/?symbol=MTGOX%3ABTCUSD

early birds must have known something we didn't. those who bought under $1 and managed to hold till above $500 are in the money. a lot money. from $0.01 to $1000 isn't bad.
4243  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you think: Digitalising fiat currencies on: March 14, 2015, 08:02:24 PM
Im not sure I get exactly what you mean but if I understood it correctly, it would make avoiding taxes easier than it is now, and i dont think want that.

isn't avoiding taxes something a lot people like about crypto currency?
it is much harder for them to know what and how much we have. i actually like that.
4244  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: secure way to print paper wallets ? on: March 14, 2015, 07:54:35 PM
Remember to always use a dumb printer, never use a connected one.

i am trying to make some paper wallets but what do you consider a "dumb" printer? a very old one that only can print and nothing else? i have a printer bought a year ago, very cheap, it has no features beside printing. that one should be fine?
4245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rare address hall of fame on: March 14, 2015, 11:58:21 AM
unique addresses some times receive plenty of tips. the weirder your address the more tips you get.
i tried to generate a very unique address but it took way too long and without success.
4246  Economy / Speculation / Re: If BTC goes to ten hundred billion dollars on: March 14, 2015, 11:55:00 AM
plenty of trolls around here in the speculation section. nothing new. that's not going to change.
it's not even funny enough to make you laugh.
4247  Economy / Speculation / Re: this bull kisses 317 in 48 hrs on: March 13, 2015, 10:17:42 PM
it's weekend, that's mostly not helping. after the weekend it might continue with searching for $300.
$317 in 48 hours won't have much chance. currently too much sell force.
4248  Economy / Speculation / Re: Etherium.org launch to make Bitcoin price go UP? on: March 13, 2015, 05:42:00 PM
Bitcoin is no longer a market that driven by this kind of news, and more use for Bitcoin doesn't mean price raising, more people use for Bitcoin does.

that's correct. good news doesn't have much impact on the price anymore.
bad news on the other hand has quite some impact. especially hacked exchanges.
4249  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: March 13, 2015, 12:44:28 PM
lol storing bitcoin for retirement plan.
but its good idea i think.
in the future, bitcoin price maybe up to $1 billion, who knows?

what have you been smoking? 1 billion per coin? really?
i guess a fair estimate is around $30.000 per coin in the future. but it definitely won't happen soon.
4250  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many confirmations until i can re-send the money on: March 13, 2015, 04:31:18 AM
Technically you can spend unconfirmed coins, but some clients does not allow you to use unconfirmed coins. So, it's up to your client. Of course, it is safe to wait for at least one confirmation to be sure.

EDIT: Mycelium does not allow you to spend unconfirmed coins, while Electrum does. Haven't tested core/qt or other clients.

QT clients don't allow it. But electrum and mytrezor.com and blockchain.info do.

if you send unconfirmed coins to a certain address i assume it would need 2 confirmations to get 1 confirmation on each address?
4251  Economy / Speculation / Re: IBM looking at adopting bitcoin technology for major currencies on: March 13, 2015, 04:18:01 AM
these companies like to control their funds. so yes, they might make their own crypto currency.
can't really see it impacting bitcoin in any way if they do so.
4252  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So we did stop calling it an experiment, did we not? on: March 12, 2015, 05:12:54 PM
it's experimental until it remain in beta phase, to many things to correct, from many point of view(ecnomic, software ecc...)

which basically means that it can take another five or so years before we can say it's not beta anymore.
i think most people agree on the fact that we consider bitcoin still experimental. atleast from the economic point of view.
4253  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could 1 satoshi become worth $1? on: March 12, 2015, 12:42:35 PM
not sure if you're serious but that would not happen. not in thousand years.
if 1 satoshi equals $1 then 1btc is worth $100.000.000 which is something you only can fantasy about.
4254  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Exchange Reviews Collection - the most complete! on: March 12, 2015, 12:33:22 PM
i have been reading through the bitfinex reviews and it has got my interest.
only not sure whether the exchange is recommended for me as beginner regarding trading with different methods.
4255  Economy / Speculation / Re: You will HODL until?...... on: March 12, 2015, 11:41:50 AM
i will hold till the price is +$20000 and sell a few % of my coins to take profit and will continue holding the rest.
i am in bitcoin because i believe in it which will make me a long term holder.
4256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tx fees if Bitcoin will reach 100k $ on: March 12, 2015, 11:34:38 AM
Ask yourself this: What happens if no one pays a fee for a transaction today?

Miners still have blocks to mine and get coins/income. It will only be  a problem if the coins are all dug up and the miners have to live of the fees.

i wonder how much the fee then will be. and also, will it be a hard forced fee that you can't turn off.
fee must be decent enough for the miners to continue mining and low enough to not bother the people who send bitcoin.
4257  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: In 2015, faucets are bad for bitcoin on: March 12, 2015, 05:55:51 AM
when i started with bitcoin i was spending the first two weeks on trying to get as much coins as possible.
for newbie users it's a great way to get some coins for free and test a wallet with sending and receiving and such.
4258  Economy / Speculation / Re: When Will The Uptrend End on: March 12, 2015, 05:43:23 AM
i really think we might see a decent rise this year maybe to around $500
slowly leaving negative sentiment behind and let the bulls make new highs.
4259  Economy / Speculation / Re: $350 by Sunday on: March 12, 2015, 01:05:00 AM
bitstamp is closing the price gap that it had with bitfinex. but i really can't see it going to $350 this week.
i am already happy if we go over $300 and manage to hold it.
4260  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Bitcoins 2015 How much you think be cost/price? [price prognosis] on: March 11, 2015, 08:16:17 PM
I hope that btc's price stays below $300 for the rest of the year, so I can hodl some.

But looks like that won't happen Sad

so you want bitcoin to stay at $300 for the rest of the year just to hold it? lol.
i would think you would like to see it going up in value while holding it.
