4241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Has anybody ever used pnxbet? on: July 06, 2021, 02:24:34 AM
I already created an account with the site, pnxbet(dot)com, but haven't made use of it yet. I first want to hear some comments from those who have actually used the site.

I decided to open an account with pnxbet primarily because of convenience. It accepts crypto as well as my local fiat and the deposit methods are also very friendly.

I actually first heard about it from a friend. I then took some time looking for some feedback about the platform online. I mostly read that the site is legit. I also read a good portion of its general terms and conditions. More or less, I already have an idea about the site. But I thought it is best to listen to those who have actual experiences with it.
4242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambler? on: July 06, 2021, 01:18:23 AM
This board has become more of a sports thread than a gambling thread. If you notice, most topics are on sports leagues, matches, and other related topics. There are also topics pertaining to casino games but most often the discussions would dwell on the games themselves rather than on their gambling aspects. And so one doesn't actually have to be a gambler to be able to join discussions. And I don't see any big deal with this.
4243  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Human society is migrating to "math governance" through Bitcoin. on: July 05, 2021, 02:34:26 AM
Mathematics is logic. It is something whose laws even god cannot change. You know, 1+1=2. However, when it comes to human society, governance in particular, is it even possible to insulate everything from human influence? Yes, we have Bitcoin, a hard-coded system following the rules of arithmetic, but how independent is it from human intervention? Isn't it that forks and various upgrades were injected into it by certain persons to which not everyone agreed?

At the end of the day, technologies following the laws of mathematics do not have much power over human society. After all, they are simply tools whose adoption or rejection are still dependent on human agreement.
4244  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Thai SEC files criminal complaint against Binance on: July 05, 2021, 01:42:48 AM
As per their statement, it is their policy not to respond to regulation issues but they definitely work it out with them.
In other words, they could've avoided this but for some weird reason, they chose the harder route instead [doesn't make sense]!

It seems to me Binance thinks it is cunning enough the way it does business. They seem to operate as if they are larger than governments. We will see how the pattern of heightened regulations against crypto-related businesses in many countries affect their approach. For now, it seems they don't make their move very transparent and public, but they might actually be doing some backchannelling and perhaps under-the-table negotiations right now. They certainly have a brilliant legal team.
4245  Other / Meta / Re: Lamentations of a newbie [ Activity increase spam and shit post] on: July 05, 2021, 01:00:52 AM
Unless if you are looking forward to the day you could join signature campaigns, but that's not what you are talking about here, right?
This is exactly why I need to rank up. The sarcasm, newbies are looked down upon even though everyone says its not true. Your statement proves the fact. You believe every newbie is here for bounty and signature campaign ( making money is the only aim of newbie). Newbies are unconsciously stereotyped and put in a box by the forum.

I don't know with others but I never look down upon newbies. Ranks here don't signify much. I'm a legendary and I am openly admitting that there are certainly a lot of newbies, jr. members, members, and other low rank members here who have a lot more Bitcoin knowledge than me. We are only talking here of a forum rank. It doesn't signify knowledge, experience, and so on. That's exactly the reason why I am pointing out that rank is immaterial in terms of what you will read and understand. I don't find rank a big deal here unless, again, if you are only looking forward to the day you will earn from it, which is obviously not what you are up to, right?

4247  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Thai SEC files criminal complaint against Binance on: July 04, 2021, 03:11:57 AM
But Binance is not responding to this, they are continuing their normal activities, Binance just ignoring to answer anything about the SEC.

I don't think so. Our failure to know Binance's every legal step of the way does not mean Binance is not doing anything in response to it, much less ignoring it. Binance wouldn't simply lose the entire Thailand market due to its failure to cooperate with government authorities. I don't think Binance could afford to do that. As per their statement, it is their policy not to respond to regulation issues but they definitely work it out with them.[1] And Binance has the money to hire the most competent local and international lawyers to iron out issues with regulators.

4248  Economy / Economics / Re: What role will Bitcoin play in the face of superpowers in the future? on: July 04, 2021, 02:40:17 AM
If you are a government employee, how should you explain Bitcoin to your government? How to explain his volatility? How to explain his anonymity? The most important thing is, what role does he have for the country.

I'd explain Bitcoin as it is, a decentralized system with its own currency which has a fix supply which makes it immune to constant devaluation. I'd say it is censor-resistant and permissionless and makes people more independent and free. I'd say it works beyond the frailties and incompetence of humans. It is volatile but it will probably reach a certain level of stability by the time it has reached a much wider adoption. As to its anonymity, well, cash is anonymous.

Its role? Well, it should be offered to all citizens of the world as an alternative.
4249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You got a pifzer ? Then you can be eligible for lottery in Poland. on: July 04, 2021, 02:00:02 AM
Personally, I find this attractive. Others may disagree, of course, but if this is what it takes for the population to get immunized from the virus, then it is no expensive price to pay. You know, it's just one way to encourage or entice people to get the vaccine as early as possible.

However, as Poland is certainly not the only country to have thought of this, there was a study in the United States that says the $5 million Ohio vaccine lottery didn't actually help increase the vaccination rate.[1] So I guess countries should begin looking into this pattern of giving away money and some stuff just to attract people to get the vaccine. Perhaps they could put the money to better use if proven that it doesn't help at all.

4250  Other / Meta / Re: Lamentations of a newbie [ Activity increase spam and shit post] on: July 04, 2021, 01:23:15 AM
The activity period however promotes spamming at beginner level because of the need to rank up.

There is actually no need to rank up. The lessons one could get as a newbie are precisely the same lessons a jr. member, full member, and even a legendary member could have. Moreover, there are no sections, boards, sub-boards, threads, topics, and so on that are restricted to lower rank members. In other words, if you said that you were addicted and has improved because of what you've read, then rank is immaterial. You don't have to post a lot in order to access the next interesting thread. Why does it have to be a disadvantage if your activity is low? Unless if you are looking forward to the day you could join signature campaigns, but that's not what you are talking about here, right?
4251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's transaction volume in 2029 on: July 03, 2021, 01:43:02 AM
We are already more than halfway there and it seems very obvious that the rate of adoption is still rising, very far from its zenith. So I guess it is safe to assume that Satoshi is probably going to be right on the side of Bitcoin having a very large transaction volume rather than on having zero volume. However, the direction is also towards the increase of off-chain Bitcoin transaction volume due to the demand of Bitcoin properly functioning as sound money. These are very exciting times for Bitcoin.
4252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance P2P on: July 03, 2021, 12:59:22 AM
If I were you, I wouldn't risk it. If your country is banned from using the platform, it most probably means going around it by way of a VPN is a violation of its terms and conditions. And also, since the use of P2P in Binance would require KYC, how could you provide all the necessary information that proves you to be someone using the services from somewhere else and not your actual country of residence?
4253  Economy / Economics / Re: The slave does not dream of freedom, but of being the slave-master on: July 02, 2021, 03:25:24 AM
For me, there's much truth in it. Such is the reason why I always think the cycle is perpetual. The powerful of today was the powerless of yesterday, and the powerless of today would seek to dislodge the powerful and eventually become the powerful himself, who would then become the target of the powerless, and so on. All else are products of power struggle.

BTW I am very interested in knowing if this is a quote from anyone famous or just part of the script.

I looked for it online and I have read the names of the German philosopher Hegel and US President Lincoln, although not exactly the same words but somehow to that effect.
4254  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best way to promote a referral url: on: July 02, 2021, 02:38:51 AM
I am a member of a BitCoin faucet that is paying me better than a miner.
Well, it does help that I have 1000's of referrals.

Wow! Just wow! I never would have imagined this was possible at all. Giving you the benefit of the doubt here, but would you care to share where this is happening? Not the referral link please but the site so that we may have a check on it. Is this not some kind of scam or Ponzi?

What is the best way to get a crypto related referral link seen?

Here on the forum, it would be through signatures as the forum prohibits making posts with referral links. However, signatures vary depending on ranks. And certainly, newbies cannot put links on their signatures. So if you are truly earning more than a miner and is indeed determined to display those links, then you might want to hire higher rank members.
4255  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Preferred Escrow and why? on: July 02, 2021, 02:00:15 AM
It depends on your transaction. What is it about? Is this a P2P transaction? Is the other party here on the forum? I have never used escrow outside of this forum, though.

Anyway, what do you exactly mean by crypto purchases as nerve racking or risky? The use of crypto is safe in that there is a permanent record of it on the blockchain that couldn't be tampered. The other party couldn't deny what's already been confirmed by the network. However, it is risky in a way because there is no way to reverse a confirmed transaction. So the point to be very cautious about is the person, site, or any other entity you are doing transaction with. So before any crypto transaction make sure the other side of the deal is to be trusted.
4256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The recent house hearing concerning bitcoin and cryptocurrencies on: July 02, 2021, 01:29:25 AM
However, at the very least, it is worth appreciating that there are hearings such as this, even if it is just on a relatively small subcommittee level. At least, democratic processes are still working. Moreover, reliable resource persons were invited, given ample amount of time to elucidate on contentious issues regarding Bitcoin and crypto, which probably made a lot of less-informed lawmakers realize the real score.

While the committee may generally be considered technologically incompetent, it has also showcased certain members of congress such as Rep. Anthony Gonzalez and Rep. Warren Davidson who appeared to be objective in appreciating Bitcoin as an emerging financial technology.

I don't think there is much to celebrate or appreciate here. These meetings are done for very small things so I would expect Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies to at least have a hearing. We have to remember that the government will probably be more hostile to Bitcoin than friendly and it does not really matter who they invite to the discussions. It is within their interest to recognize Bitcoin as an emerging financial technology since they currently profit from it. They are in full control and can apply more strict regulations whenever they want. This is why I think these kind of meetings regarding Bitcoin will  be conducting on a routine basis.

Compare that to a blanket ban on the basis of unfounded assumptions which is what is probably happening in other countries, or even in the US in the earliest years of Bitcoin. A hearing in congress where Bitcoin advocates and evangelists are given time to speak and enlighten the officials, where fellow congressmen debate with each other for or against the technology, is already something worth appreciating.

The moment the government wants to profit from Bitcoin is the moment the government becomes friendly to Bitcoin. At the very least, it is an acknowledgment of Bitcoin as a neutral technology rather than just a criminal's tool.

4258  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 650 U.S. banks will soon be able to offer bitcoin purchases on: July 01, 2021, 03:31:26 AM
This is Bitcoin hitting the mainstream road. And no small thanks to the ones earlier perceived to be the enemies of Bitcoin, it is the banks now that are bringing Bitcoin to the doorstep of approximately 24 million people. This is huge!

However, I hope this won't encourage people to just let these banks take full custody of their savings. I am particularly looking forward to the near future, hopefully, when this development would eventually provide Bitcoin owners easier access to stores, restaurants, and shops that accept Bitcoin payment. NCR, after all, is " the largest provider of point-of-sale software to grocery and other retail stores globally." This would definitely further push for the treatment of Bitcoin more as a currency.
4259  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: In desperate need of a Coach/mentor. on: July 01, 2021, 02:48:59 AM
If you hang around this forum long enough, sooner or later, you're going to get a good coach/mentor. So, you'd have one sooner or later. You need not worry. This forum is rich with highly-informed users.

But please take note that this is not going to be a personal coach/mentor who will constantly attend to you directly. Please find satisfaction in the fact that there are indeed knowledgeable users in the different sections and boards here. Should you focus on a particular section or board, sooner or later, you'd notice that there is a member or two who you will look up to and whose posts you highly value and learn a lot from. From that point, you'd even follow them in whatever discussion they're involved.

I need not drop names but I also have my own set of coaches/mentors here, fellow users who are highly instructive in their posts and responses and with whom you seem to be comfortable asking or even replying even if you know that with your ignorance you might sometimes be a nuisance to them.
4260  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Newcomers ask for help, what should I do if I recharge the Kucoin card? on: July 01, 2021, 02:24:59 AM
It seems you are in a panic, OP. You are now creating a lot of worse scenarios in your head. It doesn't help.

Have you already complied with everything the site is asking from you?
Have they already responded after you submitted the last of the documents they asked you to fill out?
What was their response?

With your circumstances, you could either comply and satisfy their requirements and wait or forget about all those hassles and move on, but it depends on how much funds you've got in there. If I were you, since you've already submitted personal information, you'd better comply with the rest and wait. But please keep the communication alive. I've read a lot of negative reviews about KuCoin support, even one from a user who said he/she's got his/her funds back after a year's time. That's not good but not the worst either.
