4242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Tom Schwarz on: June 11, 2019, 01:14:18 AM
I'm sure Fury learn some lesson on the Anthony Joshua lost. So he will not under estimate his opponent in Tom Schwarz. Although we can't compare Schawrz and Ruiz, but I'm sure he has a shot but I believed that Tyson Fury is just too good for him and it might ended in a KO.

I have a feeling that there will be no upset here.
I also agree that there will be no upsets when this match happens.
If Tyson can not finish off this German then he has no business in the sport.  I expect Fury to stop Schwarz before the late rounds somewhere like 7-8.
Will also be looking into a Fury ko prop

4243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs. Donaire WBSS Bantamweight Final on: June 11, 2019, 01:07:32 AM
Look I get it that many Filipinos like their native countryman Donaire but he will be koed when he fights the Japanese MONSTER.
The odds are not giving Donaire much of any chance at winning so its ok to have pride for your country but you must also look at reality
4244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How safe is Bitcoin gambling on: June 11, 2019, 12:59:15 AM
Well I would say it is safe enough that there are tons of casinos that accept bitcoin and other crypto and plenty of gamblers.
The community here is fairly honest and with a little of your own research you should be able to find a Bitcoin casino that fits your needs
Something that makes it unsafe is that you cant do anything about a hacked account or a lost password.
4245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 11, 2019, 12:38:20 AM
Did Cerrone blow his nose on purpose ? Probably... but if that's the case, it's a shame because he still had a chance, he could have gotten a lucky shot and won in the last round. Ferguson was the better fighter though.
I didn't really enjoy the fight anyway. Those guys are not kickboxers god damnit ! One miserable attempt at a takedown, only one ! Not my kind of fight.

Same for Cejudo, he is a wrestler, not a boxer. Nothing to say about his win, he deserved it.
This match was the 'Fight of the Night' and they both earned a extra $50,000 in bonuses so it must have been a alright one  Smiley

I am glad it was stopped when it was or else we would have seen a terrible beating done on Cowboy
4246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2018-2019 betting on: June 10, 2019, 02:14:02 AM
I do not think KD will play and think that this series is basically over.
Some sportsbooks not only think he will play but they are offering odds that hes MVP  Grin

4247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: June 10, 2019, 02:05:09 AM
Here are the results for 238.  Sucks that Cerrone made a noob mistake by blowing his nose when it was broken...  Caused all the air to go his right eye lid and around the eye area and swell.  Lol.
Cowboy is a veteran who knew what he was doing by blowing his nose as he clearly was in no way shape of form going to be able to keep going for much longer.
He wanted out without quitting and he knew by blowing his nose that the swelling would cause the fight to be stopped and he would be out of a merciless beating.
4248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can i start a game here in the forum? on: June 10, 2019, 02:02:45 AM
When i saw the mice races I was somewhat intrigued I will be honest with you.  And ever more then you can watch them race and win money
But to think about turtles racing is not something that sounds of interest but I think there others who would enjoy it.
4249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reasons Crypto Players Skip Casinos with KYC on: June 07, 2019, 06:22:54 PM
It may not be such a desired option to have to turn over your identity but if its the only option to playing at a casino, is it worth it for you
If you have nothing to hide and enjoy a certain casino that may ask for kyc, just dont break any laws and the rest will be ok
I laugh at some of the people on here who are so fearful of the kyc procedure that they think the local govs will come after them  Grin
I have done the kyc procedure with 3 BITCOIN casinos and guess what I am still alive and well
4250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling frustration and depression on: June 07, 2019, 06:18:27 PM
Drinking and gambling go together like birds of a feather - have you ever been to atlantic city or even worst las vegas?
This is what the casinos are hoping you do when you visit their properties and this is what the online casinos are hoping we are doing by our self sitting at home behind a computer monitor
Just dont allow it to get this bad and remember gambling should always be used as entertainment.
4251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is anonymous betting a desired feature? on: June 07, 2019, 06:14:36 PM
I'm working on a football (soccer) betting site, and I'd like to know if it is worth the effort to add the feature to allow no-registration bets. Has it ever been a deciding factor when you pick a site to bet on?
Would be interested to see how your platform compares to what was once Directbet
As long as the player has the option to not accept the odds when they often double during live matches I am all for this.
Anonymous betting is a nice perk to have but I am not against a kyc if deemed necessary
4252  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-06-07] Vancouver Mayor Wants to Ban Bitcoin ATMs on: June 07, 2019, 06:10:55 PM

https://www.coindesk.com/vancouver-first-city-with-a-cryptocurrency-atm-considering-ban?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=coindesk&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Organic%20

Bitcoin ATMs have become “an ideal money-laundering vehicle,” according to the Vancouver Police Department, prompting a proposed city-wide ban by the mayor, and potential federal legislation, The Star reports.

The 76 machines within the city limits have come under police fire twice already this past year due to perceived regulatory issues. Though, most recently in February 2019, Sergeant Alvin Shum took aim not only at Bitcoin ATMs, but also the ideological underpinnings of blockchain generally. He wrote, in a report to the Vancouver Police Board:

“Given the lack of a central authority, there is no controlling organization who can monitor or regulate the transfer of funds to ensure a legitimate transaction. This creates a prime opportunity for the criminal element to capitalize on remaining anonymous, as they work to defraud unsuspecting citizens, launder money, and make large-sum anonymous transactions.”

This lack of regulation, Shum said, will allow for the incubation of organized and petty crime. Indeed, he points to the rising trend of cryptocurrency police filings in Vancouver year over year, which increased 350% from 2016 to 2017, and saw a further 250% increase in 2018.

Current reporting rates indicate the Metro Police will receive 840 reports this year, on track for a 300% increase in reports from 2018.

It is unclear how many of these crimes were directly tied to the use of cryptocurrency ATMs, though Shum spoke of a “high-pressure” tactic employed by fraudsters to direct victims to withdraw large amounts of cash and deposit it in a Bitcoin ATM to a predefined Bitcoin address. These scams target the most vulnerable segments of the population including recent immigrants and the elderly.

Since Shum wrote to the police council, 15 new machines have been added to the Vancouver metro area, according to coinatmradar.com.

In January, the city council suggested a bylaw to “regulate the use and operation of cryptocurrency ATMs, including the requirement for a business licence, requirement for signage to advertise common frauds, requirement for identifications to be used to verify the sender and receiver of funds and requirement of security features.”

Four months later, at a May 28 council meeting, Mayor Kennedy Stewart pushed for the outright ban crypto ATMs in the city. Defenders of the machines cite the utility for people who have transaction limits on their bank accounts, and the convenience for conducting cryptocurrency transactions. The third largest metropolitan area in Canada, Vancouver only hosts about 12% of the nation’s total crypto ATMs.

The first bitcoin ATM ever was installed at a Vancouver coffee shop in 2013, which contained a built-in palm scanner designed to prevent users from processing more than $3000 CAD per day.

“We don’t want drug dealers sending a bunch of coke to the States and then withdrawing cash,” said one of the machine’s owners as it was unveiled at its location in 2013. “We don’t want these to turn into money laundering machines; that’s the worst thing that could happen.”

Currently, Vancouver lacks standardization for the types of transactions that can be performed on its ATMs. Some machines require a cellphone number and text verification for transactions over $1,000, while for others push the limit to $3,000, according to CoinATMRadar.com. A few machines advertise no limits at all, according to The Star.

A decision regarding the regulation, monitoring, or ban of crypto ATMs is currently being researched by city staff who will report back in the fourth quarter of 2019, Alvin Singh, the mayor’s director of communications, told The Star.

There really is not much more that can be dissected from this fight
4254  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-06-04] Bitcointopia Founder Sentenced To 21 Months In Prison on: June 06, 2019, 04:48:39 PM
Bitcoin backed real estate Ponzi scam by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of California. Morgan Rockoons conducted more than 1000 unlicensed transactions until the end of 2017. He has now been sentenced to serve a period of 21 months in federal jail.
It is a smaller sentence in my opinion and this is not the first time he was caught doing these kind of frauds and he must get a bigger punishment for these fraudulent activities, he knows he will be out without any issue with a shorter sentence and so is the reason he is repeating his offence and now with all his loot being confiscated which is known, who knows whether he has hidden loots.
Until there is a harsh punishment for looting people of their hard earned money, there will be people who does that for a living and for their luxury.
I agree that with this light sentence, he will be back out and maybe doing more shady business practices that will land him back in prison
If the government is trying to set an example then I think they need to throw the book at him harder
There are people who would gladly swap 2 years of their life for the ability to fraud others out of millions of dollars.
I dont think this is the type where you lock him up and throw away the key but he will be free in less then 2 years and who knows if he will resort to old tactics

This was also one of the most pirated events where almost 1 million unlicensed UK viewers watched it.
Nigeria was even worse with 2.35 million unlicensed viewers

Not that this really bothers the fighters who each made millions for their own  Roll Eyes
4256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling addiction mainly due to loneliness and dissatisfaction? on: June 06, 2019, 04:39:28 PM
Well the same thing could be said about any vice people have such as drinking, smoking or doing drugs.
If someone stays home by themself and drinks alone well then yes this is a sign of loneliness and dissatisfaction.
But what if this person who drinks the same amount but does it at a bar surrounded by women, does this not make them lonely and dissatisfied too
Its all how you perceive it because entertaining yourself with gambling does not sound lonely.

4257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs. Donaire WBSS Bantamweight Final on: June 06, 2019, 04:18:09 PM
Do we have a venue where the fight would happen? I just hope it will be in US soil because Donaire seems to show us very impressive win in US so it might have a effect on him to showcase his talent again in the US, just saying.  Grin
Well since Donaire lives in San Francisco, USA and there is big Filipino population in that state it would not surprise me to have it at a big venue there.
He is the household name in this fight so it only makes sense to have this massive event there then in Japan from Inoue lives
I think Donaire will end up losing this fight not because he is over the hill but because the Japanese fighter is very elite athlete younger in his prime
4258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New casino vs old and trusted one on: June 06, 2019, 04:09:52 PM
Look until I see a newer and improved casino I will be sticking with the ones that I trust and have good relationships with
In this type of space there is no reason to branch out into uncharted waters or territories just because of a good marketing plan.
I am looking for more options so am always open to newer casinos but unless they can be 100% trusted, I stick to what has always worked for me

Kik has always been one of those controversial apps where child exploitation as it is used my many youngsters and has probably been watched for some time now
In February 2016 Kik was known as "the problem app of the moment" according to the NY Times.
Kik messed up by now allowing Canadian citizens to participate in Kin ICO.
It is to not much surprise that Kin has lost 99% of its value since 2019
4260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [2019-06-04] The SEC Is Suing Kik for Its 2017 ICO on: June 04, 2019, 09:33:03 PM

https://www.coindesk.com/the-sec-is-suing-kik-for-its-2017-ico?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=coindesk&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_campaign=Organic%20

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is suing Kik for allegedly running an unregistered securities sale when it launched an initial coin offering (ICO) for its kin token in 2017.

In a filing submitted Tuesday in the Southern District of New York, the SEC said Kik violated Section 5 of the Securities Act of 1933, which requires offerings to be registered.

“By selling $100 million in securities without registering the offers or sales, we allege that Kik deprived investors of information to which they were legally entitled, and prevented investors from making informed investment decisions,” said Steven Peikin, co-director of the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. “Companies do not face a binary choice between innovation and compliance with the federal securities laws.”

As alleged in the SEC’s complaint, Kik had lost money for years on its sole product, an online messaging application, and the company’s management predicted internally that it would run out of money in 2017. Kik’s losses averaged about $30 million a year, according to the SEC, and earlier attempts by Kik to be acquired by a larger technology company had failed, with seven potential suitors all declining to buy or merge with the company.

In early 2017, Kik sought to pivot to a new type of business, which it financed through the sale of one trillion digital tokens. The company sold its kin tokens to the public, and at a discounted price to wealthy purchasers, raising more than $55 million from U.S. investors. The SEC complaint alleges that kin tokens traded recently at about half of the value that public investors paid in the offering.

According to the complaint, the Ontario Securities Commission previously told the Waterloo, Canada-based Kik that kin appeared to be a security.

Earlier this year, the company told the Wall Street Journal it planned to take the SEC to court if the agency brought an enforcement action against the project.

Last month, Kik CEO Ted Livingston said the company had already spent $5 million engaging with the SEC. Kik then launched a $5 million “Defend Crypto” crowdfunding campaign to support a potential lawsuit.

Kin is used across a suite of mobile apps. Kik has been using its ICO funds to support the development of new marketplaces for people to earn and spend the cryptocurrency, which runs on its own blockchain.

In a statement Tuesday, Livingston said:

“This is the first time that we’re finally on a path to getting the clarity we so desperately need as an industry to be able to continue to innovate and build things.”

Kin’s price tanked on the news of the SEC lawsuit, falling more than 25 percent within two hours of the lawsuit’s announcement.
