I feel like the fact that you decidd to sell off a good portion of your stuff should scream a message to people on the fence... If it seems to good to be true?

well right now my scrypt went from 70mh to 5mh and 256 stayed at 930gh

not so much that I fear gaw-zen

as this I put in 1800 usd and by selling off the scrypt portion  and keeping the 256 portion I counter balance the scrypt in house (11 gridseed blades)

I just about make an absolute profit   so far 1800 in  sell off  was  870 usd  puts me at 930 usd in the hole.   must of the 1800 was cc I got 40 bucks in cc rebate so my 930 in the hole is reduced by 40 to 890 usd.

I am holding the earnings in btc  so far 1.332    that is worth 672

so at this moment in time I am out of pocket  218 usd.  I own 2 s-3's and 5mh   I pay less in power for them about 10 cents a kwatt if zen-gaw hosts.

where on earth can you buy 2 s-3's and say 1 gridseed blade for 218 usd. have them hosted at 10 cents a kwatt  and cc protected?

this is known as taking profit .  some would say I took profit too soon. I  don't care I will fully roi in about 10 days . or maybe I will sell of 1 of the 2 s-3's and roi tonight.

@ dyask   so sweet and so short but that is exactly it
all of the below net cost is 218 usd as of today

while I have a thread on gaw zen cloud and they have allowed me to invest 1800 usd and get a return over that amount of   1800usd .

this belongs in alt coins not here.  my thread is in alt coins as should yours be.

@ the mods am I picky or am i correct?  here is my 2 part thread on gaw-zen and btw right now I have 930gh and it mines btc and I have 5 mh and it mines scrypt.

42403  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: 1379$, Dragon 1.5T bitcoin miner, 0.7 w/ghs, shipment fee and PSU included on: August 26, 2014, 01:24:12 AM
are you going to host any?
or is it for shipping only?
can I get a discount if you ship with out a psu?
I have more then a dozen psu's
I have 1x 1200 watt platinum from seasonic
I have 3x 1300 watt gold from evga
I have 1 x 1600 watt gold from evga

If you gave me a good discount for no psu I would consider buying it for home use.

I could sell the rest of my s-3's off and just use one of these.

but the psu included truly holds me back.

To all lee and I have done business and he has been pretty good to me.

If you do a break down on this item it is better then 3 s-3s'  since it ships on sept 2 and the s-3's ship on sept 20.

42404  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I have an s-3 to sell (sold) open for info and trust posting only on: August 26, 2014, 01:07:06 AM

Anyone hear back from fc about any compensation?
He said he will make an announcement.

I almost at breaking even point on ROI on 4 antminer s3! Bitmain u rock!

It's all gravy from September 2014 and onwards! This was the best purchase of mining hardware that I ever done!

I am still trying to ROI on 3 hurricane x3's...but I am gonna hold in there...

Petamine is a dud...payouts are shit. Anybody know of any good sha256 cloud mining services that beat the price on a antminer s3 per gh/s?

The hashlets are so so...profits not as good as I hope but I might have them pointed to the wrong pool...

I have 2

478gh  s=3's   on zenpool .

I may sell you one at a good price.
42408  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [SOLD OUT-WAITING FOR SHIPMENT] AntMiner Jumper Switch GB on: August 25, 2014, 11:33:48 PM
At op I am on this list for 6 I have not paid anyone so far.

At mstrongbow  I would want the back plate.

not sure what I need to pay  or how this will develop

but I am in for six switches and 6 back plates.

Philip,

You can pay when they arrive, or you can pay now before they arrive.  We're going to sort out shipping once we determine how many can safely be shipping in small/medium/large Priority USPS boxes.

Your 6 units are allocated from the 500, and they'll be ready when you are!  Shoot me a PM if you would like to sort out shipping, we can probably work something out for 6 now.

Mr. mstrongbow will be building plates for these units once his arrive!

Cheers.

okay may as well send my 6 right to mstrongbow   saves double shipping.

send  me a pm with a btc bill.

 then ship them to mstrongbow.

At mstrongbow   is this okay that my six are sent with yours?

Cool with me broski  Grin
I'll send you a PM, Philip, and make a note to send your 6 to mstrongbow.

got the pm sent the coin just looking for an update thanks!

42410  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 25, 2014, 11:22:28 PM
don't use the same pool on the top line.

I use 3 pools on 3 s-3's   all in different orders'  prevents the problem you had.

also protects against an intentional bad luck attack.  since the attacker would not attack 3 pools at the same time.
42411  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I have an s-3 to sell (sold) open for info and trust posting only on: August 25, 2014, 10:24:21 PM

42413  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I thought about this and I wonder why Asic builders don't stop building? on: August 25, 2014, 09:48:33 PM
If you can sell a $100 miner to the public for $500 why not?  Then you can take the $500 in revenue and buy 5 of your own in-house miners and the net result would be 6 units added to the network at the cost of 1 to the miner company.  The miner company would get 500% the hash/$ as you do and have minimal downside with increasing difficulty.

If they didn't have plans to do so now they do  Grin

Lol, that's the business model they used to fund their companies. Now they don't have to deal with all of the hassles of retail sales.

I'm guessing that they just prefer not do deal with the public for the marginal profit from selling 1000 miners when they can just build them by the container-load for themselves and other large operations.

Sure, it goes against everything bitcoin was founded on. But there's nothing we can do to stop this freight train now. It's just going to run us over before it crashes at the end of the line all while slowly destroying bitcoin in the process.

Agreed 100%. BFL is sitting on much "free" money from the first ASIC generation, it doesn't matter how bad they make the second gen, they still win with this business model.

And to think that Yifu decided to design the Avalon because he was worried that BFL represented a threat to the future of Bitcoin by monopolizing production of mining equipment.
http://bitcoinmagazine.com/3203/avalon-ships-bitcoins-first-consumer-asics/

yeah but that time has soooo past.

builders have reached the point that we the miner are pretty much completely  superfluous..   most small guys can do 3-5k watts  in a private home  1-2k watts in an apartment.

I can't even buy enough gear to mine 1 bitcoin a day if I run in house.  in the dead of the winter I could run 2 sp31's which would be 5.5kwatts and 11th    if this gear was in my hands now it would mine .23 btc a day.

I do agree they build 4 sell one to pay for all 4 and mine with 3.   I am saying they are stupid to do so they should freeze all sales and just mine  for about 50 days or 75 days do no growth or under 5% growth again and again..  The sell one and mine with 3 is growing the network at a speed that does not help them. It is also hurting btc price quite a bit.

As they have to sell btc off and they sell it cheaply. Since none of them will mine and hold the coin.
42414  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 25, 2014, 09:32:07 PM
BTC rise in value is irrelevant when considering profit. If you purchase the unit WITH BTC, had you simply just saved the BTC, at the end of 3 years you would still have the same amount of BTC.

So if .58 BTC cost will return .58 BTC return over a term of 3 years, had you simply held and not purchased, you would still have .58 BTC.

And in 3 years, the Miner, and PSU, will be worth nothing.

Purchasing a S3+ at .58 BTC is 100% - Hands Down - Burning your Money. You are essentially buying a device that costs .58 BTC that will, factoring all the near impossibilities I listed, return .58 back.

It's a lose lose. Sad

Strato

And that is why I said to do the calculation with different time frame. S3 will still have value in 1 year, just like S1 still has value today. If you sell the equipment when it still has value you can come out ahead. You would likely be able to re-use the PSU if you upgraded to newer equipment so no loss there.

I respectfully disagree. The S3+ will have no value in 1 year. Even with just a 10% difficulty increase per step; in 365 days the S3+ would return an average yield of 0.00066 BTC per day on 9/20/15 - IF your power cost was 0. If you paid anything over $0.02 kW/hr you would be mining at a loss.

Who would buy it?

I don't see any value there.

Strato
well if btc stays flat in usd then you are correct.  but if diff does 1 year in a row of 10% btc will go up in price.  if you can be sure of that growth rate and no one makes a better then .5 watt chip btc must go up in price.
42415  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I have an s-3 to sell (sold) open for info and trust posting only on: August 25, 2014, 09:18:35 PM
Not sure how I add trust to Phil, but I would like to! Hopefully him to me as well Smiley

this is my secondary account I use on the road.  I will post on primary account in about 6 hours.

philipma1957

I am back.  last night some of the sales i did transferred.

The 3 single mh transferred   did escrow with this and I am waiting on my funds from the escrow service.

I will post how long they take to release the escrow funds.

The biggest sale of 2 black widows  1 falcon 1 gift fury was done but 1 fury was not transferrable.

So I will refund that small part back to the buyer.  52 out of 53 fully done

The  gridseed blade to hashlet sale has not transferred . Since this is a gift from Ceo Josh  it may be like the fury and I can not transfer it.

Last night I earned .0252 btc  on my 2 s-3's and 4 hashlets.

was able to  transfer the gridseed to hytekk .

I owed him 4 days earnings   which i sent to him  0.0135  which is wrong it should be  0.01393405  so I still need to send him   .00043405btc  .

THE error was made due to me dropping out a digit.

I also have been contacted by the escrow service on hashtalk.

gawminers of Australia is running it.

I was told I would get funds later today.  This is why I do not like to use escrow.

I did it to be nice and still waiting on the btc.

I am also waiting to pay earning I held for the third sale I need to confirm btc addy on that.
42417  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [GUIDE] Undervolt antminer s1 [1.19W/GH at the wall] on: August 24, 2014, 02:49:11 PM
can S1 undervoltage make profit?
caused now 140GH/s make $1.5/day

all depends on you power cost. at 15 cents a kwatt and burning 185 watts for 140 gh it pays above the power cost.

the power cost is around 67 cents a day

for 15 cents a kwatt.

so 1.50 - .67 = 83 cents a day profit.

do not forget that in 50 days or so it will be a helpful little heater
42418  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: August 24, 2014, 02:38:10 PM

so hopefully we are good to go on monday.

I will be busy most of today and some of monday.  I will check on this thread as soon as I can.
42420  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My pool experience with cloud zenminer dot com new thread old was locked. on: August 24, 2014, 12:13:12 PM
I must say this and the previous thread have helpt me a lot of my beginner luck on bitcoin. I have 2 1mhs on zenminer after I bought a zeus blizzard x6 as a test out.

I plan to either buy a hurricane x6 for mining LTC or buy 10 mhs on zenminer. What could be the best choice? the hurricane is on 340 usd inc. delivery.

keep up the good work and I will keep you guys updated as well.

the hurricane is a good price

but the thunder at www.oneminer.com is 299.99 and 10-20 bucks to  ship it.

the thunder is an x6 chip miner and hashes at 18-20mhs    what do you pay for power 10 cents a kwatt 15 cents a kwatt 20 cents a kwatt?

if you pay 10 cents or less buying the thunder at oneminer.com may be better then buying the hashlets.

do you ever use the codes  gaw25 or gaw10  if you never used those codes at gawminers.com    they work on hashlets    buy 10 for 15.99 each cost = 159.90  used gaw10 drops price to 149.90

I think you need to spend 250 for gaw25 to work.

if you get the codes to work buy hashlets,

if you have cheap power buy the thunder from www.oneminer.com

Yea, thanks for the tips. If I will buy anything from gawminers or oneminer, it will be Zencloud because i live in Europe and would get Duty and tax when it will be send here. that's almost 25-35% more on the price.

I pay around 15 cents per kwatt.

Would be so much easier if gawminers had a warehouse in europe so I could skip thinking about duty and taxes.

Well, I think I will buy hashlets then, seems to be to most cheapest way if I don't buy hurricane x6.

Thanks again for a amazing thread!

You are welcome.  Do not forget to only spend what you can afford to lose.

No matter how honest and good intentioned gaw-zen is the risk of btc-alt coins is always high  due to price of coins which can drop a

lot.

Okay for today's info on what was earned I went from  1.28243080 to 1.30668832 btc this is 4 hashlets and 2 s-3's

My three sales have not been transferred.

1 sale is 3 single hashlets done with escrow-------------3mh = 0.00203522 btc

2 sale is a gridseed  bladed converted to  hashlets----5.2mh = 0.00324667

3sale is 1 fury 2 black widows 1 falcon converted to hashlets-----53 ish mh = 0.0378512 btc
