its not about shipping cost or anything u mentioned above... lets calculate the real cost here... 1 x RK-Box 450G = 1BTC (latest price)
assume we buy 3 RK-box (3BTC + 0.6BTC shipping)
now we need 3 RPI assume it 0.23BTC
and the last thing, we need 3 PSU assume it 0.47BTC
total : 4.3BTC
now we got 1.35 TH/s cost us around 4.3BTC
so, for this spec. 1BTC can get us 313GH/s (1350/4.3)
now we calculate the Antminer S2
1 x S2 1TH/s = 3.194 BTC (coupon)
for this S2, we dont need other accessories to run it
its all included
so, for this spec. 1BTC can get us 310GH/s (1000/3.225)
Conclusion : RK-box - for mid player in mining, if ur wallet is not big enuf S2 - only for big wallet your math is not correct. for lots of us. I may buy 1 rk box per week and spread my cost out slowing increasing the hash . depends on how they run. THEY MUST RUN AS GOOD AS AN S-1 I figure S-1's are better then 95% good closer to 97-98% . if the rk-box is that reliable it will sell like mad. Most of your math is good Philipma, but doesn't look like it factored in the $450 shipping that someone said it costs to ship the 4 minimum units required. If this is indeed true, not as good a deal as we anticipated. |

They got the money, but never shipped any units (or some tiny amount like 10). Now here they are a few months later offering cloud mining with Poseidon 3 units. I was just putting two and two together; when I asked them this, they vehemently denied ever taking preorders and not delivering, then when I pointed out that THEY THEMSELVES told us about it in the OP, they said they didn't mean for it to happen, "it just happened". Selling a ton a pre-orders then not shipping anything doesn't give confidence. Right there in itself is a scam and should be clearly stated. For example I purchased my first Antminer S1 through Sushi's group buy in early February for 1.45 BTCI set it up and overclocked it to 200 GH/s and started mining on February 12th. Using http://retrocalc.net/ I see I've roughly made 0.8 off that 1 Antminer S1(2.24 Total BTC mined). I don't think making nearly $500 off of one miner(out of several I bought) is just barely making ROI, do you? Another factor is I luckily have free electricity, so helps a great deal. Now I've sold most of my Ants, but I've held onto Antminer #1, as that little guy is proof that you can ROI in this difficult environment. He'll always have a place in my BTC heart....  You didn't make $500. If you sold right now you'd make about half that due to the drop in price since February. You don't make a profit or a loss until you sell. Until then, it's imaginary. It's not imaginary. I've made over 0.81 BTC with the single Antminer S1 I'm still running. Put in February 12 to June 14 and 200 GH/s: http://retrocalc.net/Forget the fiat for a second, I've made 0.81 profit from my 1.45BTC invest. So 0.81 is pure up coins. So 0.81 x current exchange rate = $456 or so since BTC price dipped a little. I always use coins to buy miners, so don't factor the exchange price then and now. Coins in, coins out. So maybe a cheaper one might be a good way to break him in to this expensive hobby A good break in miner would be either the Rx-Box or the Antminer S1. Mid tier maybe the Habanero or the RK-Box. Farm status the Dragon's, A1's, Antminer S2's, Spondoolies and above. |

Second, if they ARE mining with everyone equipment then we don't really have to worry about the difficulty going up when people start getting their hardware, as it's already been factored in. I know that every company mines for themselves, that's a given. I was just pointing out the pool that they decided to mine on...it's fitting! Mine for themselves, even though they said they wouldn't. Check. Mine on the worst possible pool for the community. Check Failure to ship miners on time, even though they've had working ones it seems for awhile. Check I should have said Triple Whammy. Where is it seen that they are hashing on ghash? All of their photo's / video are on f2pool. If its referencing that youtube video that is not black arrow its a customer machine / review. The customer was going to enter his pool settings(check the 5:20 mark of the Youtube video), when the field was pre populated with Black Arrow's GHash.IO worker settings, Xmark.x1 The customer was merely posting his unboxing and setup experience, when he comes across BA's pool settings. |

Get a couple of Dragons or A1 based miners @ 1 TH/s each.
They've come down in price so they're around the $1500-$1800 range now.
Either that or if you're more budget conscious, get a few Antminer S1s.

Exactly. No miner yet, just renders, cad drawings. At least there's a physical picture of the RK-box, and Minersource is set to sell them July. RXbox is anyone's guess still, no physical proof. You don't know whether they have a working prototype or not. Rockminer has working HW. And they are selling it for around $1.1/gh. If $1.1/gh is overpriced, I'd love to know what you consider a good deal. We'll see about Rxbox, for now anything involving that particular miner is pure speculation. Rk-box is bulky, inefficient, noisy, full of wires everywhere, heavy and doesn't come with a power supply. Not sure if it comes with a Pi either. We shall see about "Rocket Box" when it finally launches, if it's up to spec and worth the price. |

Not only have they been long conning and using stall tactics on us, they've been mining on GHash.IO not a p2pool or test pool. True double whammy! Truly skeevy scummy conniving deceitful disingenuous slimy @#$#@% Not that I am doubting you, but where is the proof of them mining at Ghash.IO? How early did people order who have tracking or received a unit? I ordered X1 units in Nov and an X3 in Oct. Still nothing from BA.
