I think the breakout above 842 stamp (other prices on other matkets respectively) was the news. Market made a decision and everyone's following for good reason. purely technical, I'd say. Although there could be news, but I wouldn't be aware of it. |

i think many guys here are really calm holding bulls because they bought under 10 USD...so it is little bit more easy to hodl i think...
It's irrelevant at what price you bought for deciding whether or not to hold an investment. It depends on the person. I have more money than I have ever had in my life invested in Bitcoin. Had I earned that money through a regular job, there is no way I would consider putting it all into Bitcoin. But since it came so easy, it wouldn't hurt so much if I lost it all. Probably how I would feel too. It's not rational however  It's not rational at all, but I feel the same way. I've been trying to ask myself if I had all my bitcoin-value in FIAT... would I buy as many bitcoins as I own now? Answer is usually: no, not even close, I wouldn't. Then why am I not selling. Well, I actually am, but I can't bring myself to sell even close to the required amount. Selling precious coins when you're a bull is extremely hard. Harder than "not buying" even though you're bullish, I guess. Agreed, I think that once you have coins, and have given them away for fiat in return, and then you realize why you had those coins in the first place.... I guess it just strengthens your resolve to hodl firmly to the few coins you have left. (*relatively few, they may still be a significant amount, but in relation to what you once had, they are few*) => hodling is self-reinforcing behaviour (in an exponentially rising market, that is) |

War's das wirklich? War das nicht erst nach dem Doppeltop? Von den Wellen hat es eine sehr große Ähnlichkeit, wenn auch in einem anderen Zeitrahmen. Ist natürlich alles rein hypothetisch und wahrscheinlich wird es nicht so kommen. Aber ein ganz klein wenig Pessimismus bei dem ganzen Optimismus ist vielleicht gesund ;-) Verbot war am 5. Mann ich will endlich wieder zurück kaufen können  Manchmal ist es besser einen Fehler einzugestehen, den Verlust zu verbuchen als Lehrgeld und wieder einzusteigen. Natürlich nur wenn du denkst es geht jetzt weiter hoch. Aber wenn du das denkst dann solltest du wirklich überlegen wiedereinzusteigen. |

Bin auch erst vor 2 Jahren in Kontakt mit postgres gekommen. Vorher nur mysql und mssqlserver. Postgres ist schon 'ne andere Nummer. Manches ist schlechter, aber sehr vieles besser, auch was den sql-dialekt angeht. Die engine scheint mir auch um einiges performanter zu sein. Bin ziemlich lange raus aus der Programmiererei, hauptsächlich C und Assembler unter CP/M bzw TurboDOS, deshalb verzeiht mir die möglicherweise dämliche Frage: wenn ich richtig verstehe, holt ihr euch die Daten von unterschiedlichen Webseiten runter, um sie danach auszuwerten. Was ich nicht verstehe, wozu diese Daten noch in eine Datenbank einspielen, einen DB Server aufsetzen, statt sie gleich in geeigneten Arrays zu speichern und sofort auswerten? Die Auswertung ist doch Single User. Aus Performance Aspekten kann das doch nur die schlechteste Lösung sein. Helft mir bitte mal. So wie du das denkst würde das sicher auch gehen. Bloss willst du die Daten ja zur Dokumentation vielleicht auch speichern. Warum also nicht gleich in eine DB. Auch kann man mit der DB dann recht einfach mit sql-queries z.B. die Währungsumrechnung machen. Vielleicht willst du auch noch OTC-Trades eintragen und alles manuell anschauen können, daher die Idee erstmal alle trades und transfers in db-tabellen zu sammeln. War für mich der Weg des geringsten Widerstandes. |

molecular: In Deinen Scripten steckt bereits ziemlich viel "Fachwissen". Haste eigentlich mal überlegt, ob man das nicht evtl. "multiuser-webtauglich" machen sollte?
ja, hab ich natürlich. Web-service ist allerdings in diesem Falle leider keine so gute Idee. Die wenigsten werden Ihre Daten mir bzw. der NSA oder irgendwelchen hackern preisgeben wollen. wow super Idee, werde den Post hier mal verfolgen! Molecular, wenn Du designmäßig irgendwas brauchen solltest, gib mir bitte bescheid!
Würde mich gern am Projekt beteiligen wenn ich kann.
thx, Jan. Momentan ist nichts ernsthaft geplant... da steckt enorm viel Aufwand drin. Muss ja alles DAU-tauglich sein dann. Das Angebot mit dem workshop steht weiterhin. Einen Termin kann man dann finden. Wenn genügend teilnehmen, wird's auch nicht so teuer, denk ich. Natürlich würde ich schon entgelt wollen für meine aufgewendete Zeit, aber nicht maßlos. |

When you think of it: Bitcoin is just as silly. The scarcity is artificial, just as with diamonds. What makes Bitcoin attractive is that nobody can create new units arbitrarily and spend them, diluting everybody else's purchasing power. Inflation is so destructive because of what it does to economic incentives - why work to create useful products and services to earn currency if someone else can just spend newly-printed units and bid up the price of everything you want to buy? This effect is present in Bitcoin too, but fortunately it's something that diminishes over time via a known schedule. Main difference is that with Bitcoin, the oversight over the artificial scarcity is decentralized. With De Beers and the diamonds, it seems it's centralized. They are at least executing their policies consistently, though, it seems. At least compared to our fiat controllers. |

LTC/PPC/(place whatever here) will be players too. Smaller stakes, but IN the game. That's because people need variety and solutions to their problems. Bitcoin might be gold, but there must be diamonds and silver too...
Diamonds are just plentiful, bland looking rocks. They only have their value because of successful advertising campaigns and DeBeers keeping their huge stockpiles hidden away. Probably one of the most successful and long-lasting advertising campaigns of all time. I know... I explained this to my wife... She still wants (and thus got lots of) bling. But I kind of understand it, large diamonds to a girl is more or less what a high end super car, or a super model GF is to a guy. And in the end we know we have to keep the girls happy so we buy the silly rocks... When you think of it: Bitcoin is just as silly. The scarcity is artificial, just as with diamonds. |

I second this. Sometimes I just want to move funds between my own accounts. Besides, with merchant services options coming out soon, you guys are having to work on custom set fees, anyway, right?...
I am not certain what you mean by "merchant services options". Where the merchant requests the transaction, the transaction is signed by the sender and transferred to the merchant, and the merchant verifies it before broadcasting it to the network. Thus the merchant is able to demand a certain custom sized fee, and decline a transaction if the fee they want is not included. Regarding zero fees, why not do what blockchain.info does, and allow zero fee transactions, and if they don't get confirmed after 24 hours, scrap the transaction and make the coins spendable again. Is it so easy to scrap a tx? If it's in everyones mem-pool, would it likely get replaced by a double-spend one with a fee? |

wow nur 7 beiträge hier in den letzten 5h und auf btc china ziehen sie den Kurs mit dem Lineal und der Wasserwaage.... kann man ein so schwaches Interesse auch in der TA irgendwie in die charts übertragen ?? achso, entschuldigt daß der Kurs auf stamp nicht mehr über $840 geht, das bin ich gewesen , bin heut nacht bei $840 100% all in. tja das wars für den kurs dieses jahr....  hehe. Ich denke aber das bricht eher nach oben aus als nach unten. Begründen kann ich das nicht wirklich. |
