4261  Local / Le Bitcoin et la loi / Re: Compte à l'étranger à déclarer... en retard on: May 21, 2019, 10:59:39 PM

4262  Economy / Economics / Re: The Continuous Printing of Money on: May 21, 2019, 09:57:07 PM
The money is based on debt. What I got is if it wasn't possible to borrow money from banks the economy could not even exist. Too easy for governments and central banks to print money when its the population that will suffer from the result. I don't think people in Zimbabwe have a great life there. Too easy to charge people more taxes and to ask them to work longer. (to get almost nothing for your retirement as a 'bonus'))
At least with Bitcoin & its limited supply, you can't create unlimited bitcoins and can't produce counterfeit bitcoins.
4263  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges that let you withdraw FIAT to your credit card on: May 21, 2019, 08:48:59 PM

Why would you withdraw fiat to your credit card? That's my question.

Because some people may prefer to give their card numbers instead to give bank numbers. As well, some people may be using an exchange which deals with SEPA only while their bank account is using SWIFT, so they cant' receive a payment, the card comes as an alternative.
They may have an account from a pool (from EMIs) so they don't have dedicated bank numbers (but shared) and can't receive a payment from exchanges.

@OP
I think Cex.io has been the only exchange I have seen doing that.

Thanks, if cex.io is the only one, that is bad news for me because they closed my account Sad Add that to the suggestion a guy said earlier, that they are bad with fiat, and you have one bad combination.
I use Kraken for almost all my FIAT transactions but then they are not accepting cards.

NP. Years back there were more alternatives like ecoin (aka Wirex) but I don't know at all now since the site changed a lot, maybe it still has this option. There is a thread about Wirex here maybe you can ask in. Also sorry but I just remember about Advcash too, with Visa/Mastercard transfers out.
4264  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Crypto friendly Credit Card Payment Gateway/Provider on: May 21, 2019, 07:35:32 PM
G2A Pay https://pay.g2a.com/
You can integrate over 200 platforms/payment processors and different currencies, and Bitcoin is one of them. Check out its business account.
However, you can not use the platform if your business is about to sell currencies (and so BTC).
4265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright recognised by US Govt as Satoshi, author of white paper on: May 21, 2019, 05:41:38 PM

Since US recognized him as the Satoshi the creator of Bitcoin, does he have the right to also file a trademark to blockchain?

This could be seen as if he owns this technology and that all other who copied are going to be illegal. It must be anther story one day but if this happen can they take down all the altcoins using blockchain technology?

The blockchain technology and the Blockchain are both differents
- Blockchain is a name
- blockchain (technology) is a common and countable noun

Anyway, if I'm correct, the Blockchain name is already registered with blockchain.com. It's like if you register the name "Internet" it doesn't mean you invented it.
4266  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Best way to store physical copy of Key weather & tamper proof on: May 21, 2019, 01:18:50 PM
A pen and paper are better than USB, laptop, etc. Imagine you get into a coma for 20 years, wake up and discover that USBs no longer exist, like floppy disks today. At home, you can feel safe but there are many things that can happen as well (fire, water damage, burglary, homejacking, and so on...).
As for @OP you can use a notary service or rent a vault, it will cost you some bucks but it can be an additional back up outside your own environment. As someone pointed how you save it matter but where you save it too.
Cryptosteel/Secretsteel can be an alternative if you're looking for something weather/tamper proof. Or, you can do graffitis on walls in your street. By the time someone understands that it's a BTC private key you have the time... (ok just joking Cheesy....)
4267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright recognised by US Govt as Satoshi, author of white paper on: May 21, 2019, 12:35:33 PM
Really this guy! He claims to have created Bitcoin "to works within existing legal frameworks" I must have the wrong place, so. Even if he assigns the copyright registrations to Bitcoin Association, it doesn't change the fact that he is lying to people.
Those who already know Bitcoin (even without using it) know the truth very well. But what will it be for future generations? It's like school in history, the truth is often different. This guy should be sued for a cult organization, he even infested the U.S. Copyright Office lol . I hope that a day Satoshi will return and prove his identity, just to get fun on this thief.
4268  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Worst Online Crypto Wallet Ever! [Poll] on: May 20, 2019, 10:35:24 PM
as much as i hate blockchain (especially as the UI has gotten worse and worse over the years), i can't in good conscience say it's worse than hosted/custodial services like xapo, coinbase, and freewallet.

at least blockchain.com and btc.com allow you to control your own private keys.

they should all be avoided though. nobody should be using browser-based wallets where you are vulnerable to malicious code injections/MITM attacks.

Yeah, but for doing small payments during your routine it doesn't hurt, you also ususally don't keep a lot. It's more convenient than taking your HW and connect and then execute a TX. With a web-based wallet, you just log in via a browser in seconds.

Xapo and blockchain, I remember creating accounts years back but nothing attracted me I found their UI horrible and look like the things haven't changed. That's where we can give a point to Coinbase for its UI, but Coinbase can also be one of the worst web wallets when there is a big spike and the website is overloaded and unreachable  Grin
4269  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How To Sell Your Used Gift Cards For Bitcoin on: May 20, 2019, 09:49:07 PM
LocalBitcoin removed all gift cards options from its platform
https://www.reddit.com/r/localbitcoins/comments/bp13ay/why_gift_card_trade_removed_from_lbc/
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5144571.0

I visited Paxfull once or twice before but I revisited here and it's selling your gift cards at a loss. I checked for example if I can buy BTC with Amazon.fr gift cards. The cheapest rate I found was ~$28,000 and the highest ~$68,000. I prefer to keep the codes and spend with Amazon Prime. I used Purse.io before to do that but there is no offer each time I log in to check.
4270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction fee has gone up by 10x during the last two weeks on: May 20, 2019, 07:54:53 PM
This is a normal situation.  It would be worth the wait.  The higher the price of bitcoin, the greater the commission.  It seems to me that the commission will no longer be less unless bitcoin falls again.

It's not true, the fees aren't related to the value. People think so because USD/BTC increased.
Take a look at today, the mempool has been almost empty most of the day, (Mempool size in Mb) you could make a TX with 1 satoshi/byte.
So as you see you can still use a cheap fee, BTC near doubled, but fees not really.

4272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is loss of bitcoin.com a setback for Bitcoin Core? on: May 20, 2019, 04:46:57 PM
Despite they are absolutely pro bitcoin cash (their "real bitcoin")  Grin , I don't see any attempt to post fake informations about bitcoin core.
Otherwise they can just foolish only noobs with their hyped news
... (e.g. "You can use sms for send bitcoincash") .

You should check bitcoin.com website. It has video tutorials to explain what is Bitcoin and how it works. The videos mention "Bitcoin" but guess what, they're explaining Bitcoin cash. So people think they're watching a video about BTC while it's about Btrash. They can't realize it immediately. There are surely a lot of people buying BCH but thinking they're purchasing BTC

They don't mislead people only via bitcoin.com, they also use other channels/platforms
4273  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Need me some advice on: May 20, 2019, 02:45:37 PM
Bittrex and Poloniex abide by a Data Protection law. I'm not sure if this is applicable if it is, maybe you can use it? To verify your account and then to use the data protection act. You can request to Bittrex to delete your Personal Information (you may have better luck if you're from EU). Its privacy policy says:

Quote
Request access to your personal data.
Request correction of your personal data.
Request erasure of your personal data.
Object to processing of your personal data.
Request restriction of processing your personal data.
Request transfer of your personal data.

4274  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is going up again. on: May 19, 2019, 01:13:39 PM
Actually I can't see the reason why discussion about that. Bitcoin is volatile, price changes all the time and this last correction that we had was a part of price volatility process. Although it looks like the price is growing again that doesn't mean the trend will continue and that we will not face another correction. My advice would be to use every dip to buy more Bitcoin and get profit on the next pump.

Because the volatility is higher than what we were used seeing for the past months. You have to admit a 10%-15% ups and downs the same week haven't been seen a lot since a long time. If we're currently seeing the same volatility as we got in 2018-2018, for example, it could be a signal to say we will soon get a huge pump.
And I think it's what the majority is expecting (including me).
4275  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Exchanging Bitcoin, Paypal & Skrill on: May 18, 2019, 08:38:37 AM
I'm looking to exchange my BTC for your Paypal, ($71). I will be happy with a 1:1 but if it's not possible then it's ok Tongue.
If we can trade then send me a BTC address please, I will go first no problem.
Thanks.

Trade completed, Thank you.
4276  Economy / Economics / Re: Price of goods goes up, salary never goes up!!! on: May 17, 2019, 11:07:01 AM
There is a difference between seeing your salary going up (because you're promoted, gained experience, etc) and an adjustment based on inflation. Maybe there are countries (like his) that don't reconsider the minimum wage based on it.
Even if the country does, in most countries, citizens get less purchasing power.
4277  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is getting a bit out of hand.... on: May 17, 2019, 09:49:34 AM
Talk about a pullback. Woke up to 7200 thinking wow 10% only to find out it had sunk as far as 6.3k in Asian trading.

I sold my regular bill paying portion at 7k so was hoping it would stay a little longer at 8k but gains are gains and we were expecting this weren't we?

Bulls should be pleased even massive sell offs is only making this dent.

Yeah, but we were hoping to see it lasting a little longer, not much, a week or so. I'm like @1Referee, always the same story, you wake up and discover you're late, the mountains collapsed  Cheesy. I wanted to wait for $8,5k but decided to not, I could feel the correction coming and I sold a few bitcoins for $8k this week.
4278  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need a site I can buy crypto with a debit card. on: May 17, 2019, 09:23:32 AM
Not so hard to buy BTC with a card, there are maybe a dozen of websites. Yes, sure the KYC but in 2019 it's almost everywhere. There is also Cryptopay, Coingate, Changely, Bitit.io and if I'm correct Binance has a debit card option since some time. Expect Biti.io and Cryptopay I never used the others, so make a quick search before using any.
4279  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin unable to breach the $8000 milestone on: May 16, 2019, 10:07:05 PM

It's impossible for Bitcoin to go down to $4000 again, however $5000 is still possible but I don't believe Bitcoin will re-test its support at $5000 area. If Bitcoin keeps on current price, it's very possible for a correction because the demand is not enough yet, might be just a little before it will hit and break more resistances when more demands come.

When Bitcoin was at $20,000 if you would have told me Bitcoin was going to fall to $10,000 I would have laughed. Look where we are today Cheesy
Bu if Bitcoin did twice, it can do it thrice.

No demand? Since 2 weeks the 24h volume doubled and the number of transactions per day is near the same as back in Dec. 2017
Out of curiosity, I visited the Google Trends stats for the "Bitcoin" query, and guess what? Well, same as back in Dec 2017.

@BitHodler
There aren't many $5000 buyers, they will maybe disappear in a few days, if, it's not already done.
4280  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange with USD EUR GBP JPY CAD BTC LTC XRP NMC XDG STR ETH on: May 16, 2019, 08:40:21 PM
Weird, it's like if we are talking about 2 different exchanges, I have the total opposite experience with Kraken and I'm a bit old user (maybe since 2014-15). I was still here even when the site was unusable for months, I was hitting this fucking F5 button to refresh the page like a freak lol
