4261  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHY THE SUDDEN DUMP WITHOUT ANY MAJOR NEWS? on: February 24, 2019, 10:36:52 PM
It's normal. There are still people who hold very large amounts of coins and can dump instantly crashing the price. As long as a lot of supply is in the hands of very few people it will be impossible to avoid these dumps. Good news is that this is the extent of what they can do. Like on Bitstamp they dumped 500 Bitcoins in 1 minute and that was it. They got rid of all they had and earned some fiat and that's how it ended. If people don't want to play their game they don't follow and sell after the dumpers and the dumpers are forced to buy back.
4262  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-02-24] 3 Properties,are being sold for cryptocurrencies in the Philippines on: February 24, 2019, 10:28:09 PM
At this existing bitcoin price, the owner is highly knowledgeable about cryptocurrency. The value would be triple in just a year if the said house be sold at the current rate. That's a good move and certainly, give me an idea in the future dealings out of this kind.

The Philippines is always one of the top destinations in Asia on crypto spending. No tax, no regulations but with high business appreciation.

I'm gonna sell my house now so I can buy 3 more in December when bitcoin increased.

This is rather a PR move by him. If he really wants cryptocurrency he can sell it for fiat and then buy crypto. The result will be the same because there are no fes when you buy cryptocurrency OTC and very little fees when you buy on exchange.
Also selling for fiat would be much easier because not many people own crypto compared to those who own fiat.
4263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is Adopted what happen to ilerate population(stone age people) on: February 24, 2019, 08:56:47 PM

There are many people who are in these conditions, a solution to this, can be a massive campaign by radio, television, social networks, where they can give training to these people.

Do you really think that repeated advertising in the media will make them grasp cryptocurrencies? These are people who aren't using smartphones or bank applications at all. They are paying with cash or card and they never use any applications. Telling them to do so will not change anything. Smartphones are promoted and so are online bank applications. If they chose not to use them they will not change their mind if you scream crypto in their faces.
4264  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you remember how you feel about during 2008? on: February 24, 2019, 07:57:36 PM
I was at school busy with things, I had no money to invest even if I wanted to, I was completely broke like most students.
I didn't know about Bitcoin and I didn't care about bailouts or the financial crisis and I wasn't thinking about making money. I could only dream about having them at that time. I wish I knew about cryptocurrencies Sad
4265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Everything we must know about ODDs in sports betting :) on: February 24, 2019, 07:50:56 PM
I prefer gambling in sports more than dice though because besides it's entertaining, you use to analyze real events that will also make you think rather than just rolling random numbers. If you are so hooked into a specific sports then it would really help you a lot as passion will kick in.

I play parlay most of the time and chooses teams win high percentage of winning rate even though it has less multiplier.

This is a reasonable explanation!
I sometimes wonder why sports betting is seen as gambling. There really could be skilful people who could make accurate sports predictions. If this is the case then it doesn't qualify as gambling in my opinion. Betting is more appropriate word. .

Are you for real? Sports betting is gambling because you can lose all your money if like the OP has quoted the event does not occur. What's the difference between betting on heads or tails in a coin toss and betting on 3 goals for one team in a football match? It can happen or it can not happen and if it doesn't your money is gone. Isn't that the definition of gambling?
4266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin to replace fiat on: February 24, 2019, 07:25:50 PM
then what does the block chain have to do with the state what you mean, blokchain is a technology for crypto currency transactions and storage, so it has nothing to do with being able to help resolve state debt

Honestly, most of the community right now here believed that Bitcoin has the capacity to become the word currency, even some of the experts believed on this matter too. And for my opinion, blockchain can give a big help to any country especially to prevent corruption in the government, and for sure the economy of each country will  increase in the near future.

I don't think that most of the community believes in the world currency scenario for Bitcoin. It's much more probable that it will coexist with fiat especially when a lot of the world is not tech savvy and has no access to the Internet. Bitcoin will rather become an alternative payment system and a store of value like gold.
4267  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto Winter is Over - Spring has Come on: February 23, 2019, 11:17:44 PM
I hope you're right. I think that 400 dollars isn't anything big. We were here in December. Until we go back above 5000 I won't call it crypto Spring.
There's a lot of green which is great but it will take months before people get back their confidence. I don't think we'll go below the previous bottom but 3000 is not yet behind us.
4268  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: TREND is our Friend on: February 23, 2019, 11:00:52 PM
Lol. You make it sound too easy. But I bet even you could not execute what you just said. You can't always just follow the trend line. If people could actually do that, then most of the people would actually be rich by now. The trend itself is quite unpredictable. You might see the bullish trend going on and all of a sudden the tides might change and will end up suffering huge loss.

He couldn't because recognizing the trend isn't always easy. What is the trend now? We had 3 consecutive pumps of Bitcoin price and every time people were saying it's a bart simpson pattern and it's going to get dumped next week. 2 weeks later we are still going up. Trend is your friend but what is the trend?
4269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling that stressed me out (i wanna quit) on: February 23, 2019, 10:51:26 PM
You need someone to help you because you can't stop by yourself. You need support. You can get some from us on the forum but this won't change your ways you need someone in the real life to watch you and not let you gamble. If you have a spouse or parents ask them to take over your bank account and crypto wallet and make sure you don't have access to gambling sites.
4270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto mass adoption of crypto stabalize the prices? on: February 23, 2019, 10:46:06 PM
It's going to be a very long process. Adoption is not the only reason for stability. Until there are whales with thousands of bitcoins there will be no stability. They are playing with the price and manipulating everything taking profits from bitcoin futures. They aren't going to spend if they are able to and they aren't going to stop erecting buy and sell walls on exchanges as long as people are reacting to their plays.
4271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Can an exchange that requires KYC call itself as DEX? on: February 23, 2019, 07:40:10 PM
the goal might be good so money laundering can be minimized but I think there will be many people who don't like it for reasons of privacy and not simple
I don't really mind if I have to give my data but I don't like a process that takes longer than usual so I prefer simple exchangers rather than exchangers that need KYC for reasons of convenience

The easiest way to minimize money laundering is to exclude fiat from the exchange and work on crypto pairs. I don't know why but some exchanges that used to not require KYC like poloniex because there was no fiat there changed their rules and asked people to verify. How would you explain asking people to verify if you don't trade in fiat so there can be no money laundering?
4272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is Adopted what happen to ilerate population(stone age people) on: February 23, 2019, 07:18:21 PM
My grandmother can't even use a smartphone properly. She's got a regular cell phone. Even to withdraw money from the ATM I have to go. What kind of bitcoins can we talk about? And there are a lot of such people all over the world and nothing can be done about it.

It's normal. My parents don't use computers at all. They lived their whole lives in a world without Internet and disregarded it at first as something tech geeks are into but it progressed and left them behind. Now they think it's too late to learn from scratch so they ignore it and live their lives like they did in the 80s.
When they want something to be scanned or printed they ask me. This group will never use crypto but they will die before it takes over.
4273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto A Way To become Rich / Millionaire ? on: February 23, 2019, 07:04:06 PM
One of the things that baffle me sometimes,  is seeing people who want to come and make money in the crypto space, just because they see some people who have made it, but they do not want to know the challenges. All they want is to become rich and this most times make them vulnerable to mistakes.

It's a human thing to want to be rich and it's a human thing to follow others. Those who see others succeed try to do the same in hope that they will get lucky. Why do you think there was the famous gold rush? People saw others succeed and did the same but there was too many of them and not enough gold for all. I hope crypto will make me rich one day too.
4274  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ALL Initial Coin Offerings are Trash on: February 23, 2019, 06:35:33 PM
I do not think that all ICOs are not trash. I think that some projects will become successful. If all the ICO fails, this will prove that public investment for non-professional investors is a bad idea.
I know if not all ICO is trash but if it is measured by number 10, the value is 8 out of 10. This means that currently there is more ICO are trash and the rest only little not a lot which is a real and legitimate project as you say. so I think that's true if ICO is trash.

It's usually more than 8. 5 out of 10 are scams or projects intended to make money for devs and nothing else. Another 4 out of 10 are projects that are weak, bugged, get abandoned by devs somewhere along the way, get delisted because there's no interest. Only 10% ever get to stay in the space and even this doesn't mean they are going to be there next year.
4275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Somebody paid $310,000 in transaction fee to send 0.1eth on: February 23, 2019, 06:23:19 PM
wow that's so much and I think that's the problem of cryptocurrency one day i made a mistake on forkdelta and lost 1500 $ , why such transaction is confirmed

It's not the problem of cryptocurrency! It's the problem of people's low IQ. Most wallets even give you a warning when the fee is too low or too high. Some wallets don't allow you to manually enter fee. You can only increase and decrease it by some set number like +100% over the average. To spend so much on fees you have to try hard and be an idiot.
4276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Plunge to $3,700 Expected, Say Traders on: February 23, 2019, 12:50:25 AM
Traders are repeating this because they want it to happen and want to increase their chances. When you know something will happen and nobody else knows you keep it to yourself to make money on it. When you know it won't happen without the masses participating you try to make them participate.
4277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins are the new money, is this true? on: February 23, 2019, 12:32:20 AM
Stablecoins are there to act like a bridge between fiat and crypto and give people something to which they can jump when crypto markets tank. They have many flaws because they are centralized coins owned by companies that are supposed to have enough fiat to cover the total value of the stablecoin.

Why would someone invest in this when you can have your stable fiat money or you can have your unstable crypto with high potential profit. Stablecoins offer no profit and much less security than fiat.
4278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where do we go from here on: February 22, 2019, 11:56:28 PM
It's very probable that we'll retest the lows once again and move up from there. We should be going up because the adoption is continuous. There's a new wallet that allows you to make fast and easy lightning payments without programming anything. It's as easy as Electrum and transactions are send in seconds. Bitcoin is faster than ever and altcoins will follow its lead.
4279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Know when to stop a HODL/HOLD on: February 22, 2019, 11:37:30 PM
Newbies can easily be influenced from what they hear from speculations.. I've read several times people tend to advice to hold long term. because its easy for them to say JUST HOLD cause theyre not the one losing! For me its not all about holding, its being smart about your own invesment know when to stop and cut the losses.

What are your thoughts?

I think that just an investor should have 2 investment portfolios. In the same portfolio should be assets for a long time. In the other portfolio should be short-term speculative assets. If you choose one thing, then I am for long-term investments.

This is a very good idea. I only invest in coins I'm prepared to hold for a long time like Bitcoin and ETH. I don't care about new pump and dump coins like those weed coins that were supposed to be big. They all became almost worthless in bear market. It's one thing to lose 80% of value and 99% like some altcoins.
4280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Successful ICO With No Buyback Mechanism on: February 22, 2019, 11:23:46 PM
Most of them can't guarantee buy back because they don't know if they'll succeed. In this market most ICOs fail so they have no money to buy anything back. You can't expect it as an investor. Better not to invest if the odds are against you. Complaining won't change anything.
