4261  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers, asking for salary during the shutdown on: April 21, 2020, 04:50:25 PM
Unfortunately even if this is the right thing to do it is almost impossible to save money during an event like this since your expenses are going to go up as you buy stuff that you may need in the future just in case things get even worse, this is why it is really important to prepare ourselves beforehand so we are not caught off guard, in my country many jobs have been lost already and we are still far away of the end of the crisis so most people will get even more desperate as they find themselves out of their jobs and there is no possibility to get a new one.

Agree with this. Right now it is almost impossible to save any money. Even here in India (where the impact have been relatively muted), a huge number of people have lost their jobs. On top of that, the prices of essential items have gone up by quite a bit. It is like double whammy. First of all, you have less money available in hand, and secondly your expenses are going up.
4262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHY THE BLAME ON BOUNTY HUNTERS FOR SHITCOINS? on: April 21, 2020, 04:44:54 PM
Bounty hunters do not provide value

They do not get the message out to communities that actually purchase the token - and once they receive the tokens they sell it straight away

LOL... Seriously?

If you think like this, then I am sorry to say that you don't know anything about the bounty campaigns or the hunters. I have been in to this domain for almost three and a half years and I have seen many little-known projects gaining publicity and funding as a result of hard work and effort put in by the bounty hunters. But then it is always to blame the hunters, as they are like an easy scapegoat.
4263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 21, 2020, 04:39:10 PM
Yeah no insurance for this covid-19.. But Australia trying their best for this Aus vs Ind series and not ruling out any possible window with even empty grounds.

Good article about CA current situation.

CA will explore creative solutions to stage India series

Well... I trust CA when they say that they'll explore creative options. Anything is welcome, with the exception of "virtual" BS... I can't just tolerate all these virtual stuff going on these days. Cricket Australia was the first board to use stadiums with retractable roof for international cricket matches (please correct me in case I am wrong). So I guess we can expect something similar and innovative this time as well.
4264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH decentralized? on: April 21, 2020, 04:33:50 PM
Is ETH decentralized?

Biggest ETH problem is not decentralisation but security. Why reversing block chain need to happen in first place. And there was many incidents later on. ETH is an experiment. Not a place where you want to keep your wealth.

Agreed with this. Security is more of an issue, when compared to decentralization. Recently, there have been a number of incidents, which laid bare the security vulnerabilities of Ethereum. And I expect the situation to get worse after the implementation of Ethereum 2.0. From what I heard, the developers are ignoring a number of issues, so that they can roll out ETH 2.0 sometime soon.
4265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: April 21, 2020, 04:25:08 PM
these Billionaires and Millionaires that youa re talking will sure having their own place to satisfied their need to gamble, they can even open the casino for them only as they can avail the payments casino operators might desire.

Laws of the land are applicable only for people like you and me. They are not applicable for these billionaires. If they want to gamble, then they would do that irrespective of any lockdown. If they can't travel to any of the casinos, then they can transport the casino machines to their home and take part in the games from the safe home environment (irrespective of whether they are doing it in a developed nation, or in a third world country).
4266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I want to know whether it is right to join bounties? on: April 21, 2020, 04:19:13 PM
The last time I participated in a bounty was many years back. I stopped participating in them, as the outcome was not always positive for me. But still, I would encourage the users to participate in bounties under certain circumstances. In case you are a new user, then you need to increase your merit score to rank up. So you need to make posts anyway. So there is no harm in displaying a bounty signature along with your posts. But don't expect any heavy rewards from this. It's more like a charity.
4267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcointalk PSL T20 Pool and discussion. on: April 21, 2020, 04:13:18 PM
Just wondering how can this spoil the momentum of PSL 2021 ?

The same argument came up in the IPL discussion thread as well.

Here is my logic - if the PCB conduct the remaining 3-4 matches during the end of this year, then it can have a negative impact on next year's edition. The viewers need a break of at least 10-12 months. Else the tournament may look repetitive for them. It will be better for the PCB to call off these matches, to avoid this repetitiveness.
4268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: April 21, 2020, 04:07:12 PM
Is high rewards like 350,000$ for bounty hunters still possible this days? I know it's all down to the success of the project but is this still achievable? How many successful projects with such reward paid hunters since 2018 that you know?

I think that some bounty have paid hunters. I heard mb8 was successful at the beginning. The hunters who got large unit of stakes were lucky to sell at high price before the drop in the price. I also believe this year after covid-19 is gone, some altcoins will give hunters profit.

The MB8 Coin bounty campaign was an exception, rather than a norm. That coin is already listed on several exchanges such as WhiteBIT and P2PB2B. So from the beginning itself, participating in this campaign was not that risky for the bounty hunters. But the same can't be said about the other projects, where there is no guarantee that the soft cap level will be achieved.
4269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 21, 2020, 04:01:28 PM
Got blindsided by the news article (shared by me). Now that you mentioned about their status, I remember they did visit Bangladesh recently for test/ limited overs series.

OK.. Now these are the questions I have, regarding the status of Zimbabwe:

1. Should test status be awarded forever, permanently? Should Zimbabwe continue to hold test status, even if they get beaten by teams such as Singapore and Namibia?

2. Won't it be better to have a limited promotion/relegation system for test status?

3. Should the ICC allow a corrupt bunch of criminals to steal around $12 million every year?

4. Should Zimbabwe be given $12 million every year, when promising teams such as Afghanistan and Ireland receive only a fraction of that amount?
4270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Chain or Binance DEX hype is gone! on: April 20, 2020, 04:38:45 PM
I have a feeling that this is going to be the beginning of the downward slide for Binance. They are the top cryptocurrency exchange right now and they should have concentrated on that domain. On the other hand, they are wasting their expertise on Binance Chain and Dex websites. If they ignore their core domain, then it will turn out to be counterproductive in the future.
4271  Economy / Economics / Re: China will rule world as economy king after crisis end? on: April 20, 2020, 04:32:22 PM
I agree wholeheartedly, we are talking about a country that literally jails people and harvest their organs, I am sorry but there is no way that they allow an information like this to go public neither.

That's the way it works in China. Even worse things happen in countries such as Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, yet we see very few "activists" protesting against it. Why selectively target China? Why not the Arab nations, or the African dictatorships? The Saudis even managed to head the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC). Can you believe it? I am not supporting China, but just pointing out the ironies.
4272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 26 days to the halving left, what are you expecting? on: April 20, 2020, 04:26:11 PM
We need to remember that in both the previous occasions (2012 and 2016), there was no major spikes immediately following the block reward halving. The prices began appreciating some 7-8 months after the event and reached ATH almost 1.5 years later. I am not saying that the same will repeat this time, but just remembering everyone that in the past this is what happened.
4273  Economy / Economics / Re: China’s second corona wave can it crush it’s economy? on: April 20, 2020, 04:20:58 PM
As a matter of fact China has the biggest improvement out of all countries that have been hit by the virus given that Wuhan, China is the original epicenter of the virus. Does China is having hard time containing the virus? YES, we all do but being not prepared does not mean that we cannot be successfully defeat the virus. I'm amaze how China is doing things by their own, given that they have the most populated country yet the recovery rate is impressively high. China is working on the cure and vaccine under the world's pressure from suspicions that they created it so they can manage to take advantage of the world in many aspect.

China is an authoritarian country, and it was relatively easier for them to impose lockdowns. The case was different in other countries such as Italy and France, where the people rioted against lockdown measures. Too many conspiracy theories are spreading on the net regarding the origin of the virus. There is a lot of propaganda as well. The sad thing is that in between all this, the gargantuan effort put in by the paramedics of China gets overlooked.
4274  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 20, 2020, 04:12:31 PM
@Vishnu.Reang I believe that this series would already be insured so CA should not suffer any losses, but let’s take a hypothetical situation where the series is not insured then they will not use the word cancel, rather they’ll declare that the series is postponed and then they’ll try and schedule it in the coming months or next year. Lastly I don’t think so that CA will be in a financial trouble as they’re a rich board, and will they suffer a financial setback maybe yes but will it effect their normal operations no it won’t.

I have to disagree with you here. The India tour of Australia is insured, but not against pandemics. It is insured against earthquakes, other natural disasters, terrorism.etc, but pandemic is not one of the covered perils (similar to the case with the IPL insurance). So in case the tour is cancelled, CA would receive no compensation. And this will be a serious blow for them.
4275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safe Campaigns in the Altcoin sections to join. Dont waste your time with others on: April 20, 2020, 04:04:06 PM
The suggestions are all good, but my advice to the bounty hunters is to bargain hard in return for your time and effort. Bounty hunters play an important part in popularizing many of these projects and unfortunately they are being treated like beggars in most of the occasions. My only request is to ignore those bounties where the terms and conditions are overly exploitative.
4276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 20, 2020, 03:58:17 PM
^^^^ Yup.. they are still getting money.. and plenty of it. The ICC briefly suspended them in 2019. But a few months later, they were re-instated as a full member and the funding resumed. No one really cares about all the corruption going on there. The most important thing is that Zimbabwe is a full member and holds one out of the 15 votes in the general council. And this vote can be very valuable...
4277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COVID-19: Avoid casino, play online on: April 20, 2020, 03:52:23 PM
Money can't cure corona-positive patients and can't buy the vaccine. I'm sure millionaires will switch to online gambling for a while.

There is no cure for Coronavirus yet and the treatment is mostly done for symptoms such as pneumonia and breathing difficulty. That's why there is such a high demand for ventilators right now. Now the rich are equally vulnerable, but they can afford the best possible treatment in the best hospitals. Ever wondered why the fatality rate for this pandemic is just 3% in Germany, while it is 15% in Italy? Or why it is 2% in South Korea, compared to 10% in Spain?
4278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: High rewards still possible in bounties? on: April 20, 2020, 03:46:11 PM
The support for new projects are getting smaller everyday, the main reason why investors invest in IEO today is only for quick gains, no one have interest in keeping their coins for years to come, the best example is binance IEO, after the IEO is over investors sell off

Well.. there can be a counter argument to this. I know a number of people who lost money, after holding on to the tokens for many years. How many of the projects gave good reward in the long term? Can you tell me the proportion of such projects? If the investors are not willing to hold them for long term, then there are valid reasons for that. You can't indulge in one-sided blame game.
4279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your opinion on stable coins? on: April 20, 2020, 03:39:15 PM
They're safe havens for cryptocurrency users. Using USDT as an example, when the market starts to go down you can hedge your funds in it to buy back when the market recovers. You money will be what you hegded not less.

No. They are not safe havens. Perhaps you can trust them, for a short period of time. For example, in case you are trading inside an exchange, then you can convert some of your assets to stablecoin and then trade them when the value rises. But stablecoins can never be used as a store of value. They are just tokens issues by certain exchanges and businesses and no one should trust them.
4280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON SPORTS GAMBLING on: April 20, 2020, 03:32:40 PM
This topic is very interesting. The big question is, how can we have any sports gambling without any live sports? Now this is not something that can be done with the past matches, or the tournaments that may happen in the future. For sports gambling, you need real-time sports events. And perhaps the only event that is ongoing right now is the Belarusian Premier League.
