I expect Goat's assets to be unfrozen within 24h, likely within 12h, and ideally, within about an hour. I believe Goat's gone to sleep now, so dividends wouldn't be paid until he wakes up. I'm just waiting on securing the documents so I can verify and give Nefario the green-light. Glad this will all be less than a footnote soon.  Smiley

Cheers,

Ben

I just got word that Kluge received his dividends early in secret, and was overpaid but didn't return his unfair portion making all other dividend receivers unfairly suffer. This comes from a very trusted source.

I just wanted to quote this so he can't get rid of this later. Sure glad you are a new reporter :/
I made a bad joke a day or two ago stating I received the magazine, giving a review, and posting a tracking number from a free Grainger catalog I ordered. Now, there are people in the BTCMag thread wondering why they haven't received a magazine yet when so many others have.  Cheesy  Lips sealed

Works fine for me.

A day when we don't use simple online calculators and spreadsheets.

HA!

- but I'll bite and order a hosting package to try some out (wouldn't dare host bitcoind on a server, though). I haven't really done anything involving setting up a website since I sold wristbands uhh.... a long while ago. What're folks using these days - the wizzy-wigs?  Huh  Tongue

ETA: Drupal's pretty darn easy to configure, install extra modules, and change settings in. I thought I'd have to learn how to use MySQL or something... thank God for hand-holding automation.
4284  Economy / Securities / Re: (GLBSE) TyGrr-Bank 3% weekly dividends (2.5% starting April 3rd) on: April 04, 2012, 03:48:11 PM
Does this mean you'll pay back all TyGrr* investors if something goes wrong ?
I think it just means he'll (we'll, I guess) dox him if something goes horribly wrong. IIRC, there's a fairly large fellow near Thailand who's well-in with Goat who'd be able to sit on him.
4285  Economy / Securities / Re: (GLBSE) TyGrr-Bank 3% weekly dividends (2.5% starting April 3rd) on: April 04, 2012, 03:27:32 PM
The plan is for me to hold Goat's ID in "escrow." I provided Nefario with my own ID and intend to verify Goat's ID, then update Nefario. However, it's a bit past Goat's normal sleep-time, so until that time, I'll be increasing my stake in his assets while confidence is low.

The information's now public, so it isn't insider trading.... right? Tongue

What? It's the implicit "mediation fee" I charge.

... In other news, the price of TyGrr-Bank just recovered.  Grin

The guy has taken thousands of BTC of investors money, there were recent attempts to break into his account, he is the largest asset issuer on GLBSE. Is it so unreasonable to ask for proof of ID?
No. It's also not reasonable to threaten to close all the assets (after fairly quickly freezing them) when Goat's already said he's not liable for you creating terms of service out of thin air, then denying service for not complying with those made-up terms. You'd effectively ensure his assets "default." Already, prices of his assets have been plummeting over this, which personally affects me.

This is a silly argument and the stakes are too high. What's more ridiculous is that Goat's already provided gov't ID to investors (honestly, I'm surprised nobody's just submitted them to Nefario behind Goat's back, yet). Neither Goat's nor Nefario's arguments are reasonable given the stakes, and the whole thing's meaningless. Both Nefario and Goat are set in their ways, and the lines have been drawn. Nobody's going to change -- you've both dug in. Either GLBSE or Goat-related assets will lose credibility, and most likely, both will, quite significantly. In either case, they both negatively affect each other, which negatively affects me -- this's gone on long enough.

Goat: Please just upload your gov't ID. IIRC, you do not need to provide anything beyond that. You've provided it to others without this drama. Granted, they didn't freeze your accounts anywhere and create a lot of FUD through that action, but it's detrimental to allow it to continue. I swear to the King of All Fuck I will stop investing in your projects if you don't submit ID to Nefario within a timely manner.

Nefario: Please don't allow these situations to happen in the future. State in the terms you demand ID prior to asset creation, and demand it from all current asset-creators, not just when the asset's become large in your mind and you suddenly have a whim to collect ID on the asset-creator. I swear to the King of All Fuck I will stop investing in assets listed on your site if you don't unfreeze Goat's assets within a timely manner.
4289  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BDK] We're back! Offering free escrow services and issuing CDs @ ~5% MPR! on: April 04, 2012, 12:58:26 AM
Received another large deposit a short while ago. I'm doing another buy-in soon to increase ownership equity to a level I'm more comfortable with.

63D CDs are no longer available and fwiw, I'm expecting to lower CD rates in May (not dramatically, but significantly) due to being less able to find investing opportunities I like outside of partnerships in future ventures (which have no guarantee of RoI), Pirate, and low-return opportunities. I have no qualms investing in those with my own money, but I don't want to be liable to pay out CDs when I'm receiving either much lower revenues or much higher risk. Also toying with the idea of cashing out. Will likely need to greatly reduce my stake within a few months assuming my house ever sells.

Tomorrow or "soon," I'll once again start accepting loan requests from people I don't have a long-standing relationship with. I'll start another new BDK thread for it, and lock this one. Will look into the different ways other lenders have developed to ensure the lending process is both smooth and relatively secure. Anonymity (pseudonymity, rather) is ideal, but it requires a big leap of faith -- it's quite likely I'll be requiring lendees wait a few days for a postcard with a code on it, then have them repeat the code to me via PM, on top of other methods to ensure identity and ability to repay. I'll see if the other lender has decided to make that website public yet or not. Now that I have the equivalent of well over $8k of others' money, this is no longer an experiment. As they say, shit's getting real.  Wink

In other recent news, due to how what the middleman-insurer between Pirate & I wants (which is deleveraging), I will not be putting a total of 2k BTC into Pirate's programs between uninsured & insured loans as intended. ~250BTC will be insured, ~1000 will be uninsured - by June. Again, ownership equity far exceeds potential losses in Pirate's programs or Goat's programs. Other news... BDK has honored a 6.2-ish BTC pledge to BTC100, as well as a small sum to IBB. No loans are currently "forked," so all interest income off current loans will have a % taken out and donated to IBB & BTC100. Other news... For a fee, I will sell BTC for USD -- PM me. I do not care to sell more than 100BTC at a time. I might be willing to consider selling for PPUSD if I trust you very much and you're extensively involved in the community.

Cheers & good night,

Ben

ETA: BancoKluge.com purchased. More on that soon. Wink

ETA2: CDs are no longer being accepted. I'm quite pleased with what I currently have. This may change ~next week, but rates will likely be reduced.

I'm sure the final version will have the high-gloss heavy-weight paper that Matthew was talking about.  Why would they waste money on printing on high-quality paper for a sample copy of it?

Also, what do you mean by "explicit ads"?  I don't want pron in my mag... and will probably cancel my order if that is the case.

I think you're confusing Explicit with Illicit?
It doesn't matter, since it was all a lie anyway.  But...

Explicit = pron.
Illicit = illegal stuff.
explicit = clearly laid out, made obvious -- "explicitly stated"

If ever implemented in GLBSE, a stock split would be nice. Triple the stocks out there, everyone's shares increase proportionally (3x what they currently hold). People can buy into GLBSE with less. As the purpose of GLBSE is to introduce investing opportunities to the public without extra overhead, it makes sense to make the stocks as accessible as possible, which includes pricing them low enough for the skeptical or BTC-poor to grab a share or two.
4295  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: April 03, 2012, 02:44:39 PM
can you please remove that annoying captcha

I don't like it either but I would disagree, as it makes brute force attempts harder and in end effect improves a bit glbse
(even if you pay a service to solve captcha for you it would cost money and anyway introduce a delay between attempts)
Wouldn't it make more sense to not force users to solve Captchas until at least one login attempt has failed since last successful login?

About the Sunflower: Unsalted, Salted, Raw?
Roasted preferred. No preference otherwise - it's easy to adjust for.

When I went to Battle Creek, MI (totally random-looking city -- I'm guessing there are no zoning laws) for a funeral, I stopped by a place called Horrock's. Most amazing place I've ever been. I saw their selection of cheeses and almost cried. They have a live pianist, a large selection of plants, gift shop, pharmacy, ridiculous selection of wines, cheeses, and meats - crackers, spices, flour, bird feed, even batteries -- just about everything.

I'd have no problem at all honoring a $500/year pledge at that place. They have another location in Lansing, MI which my uncle told me is similar in selection and entertainment.

I just got my first issue! It's great! Did anybody else get theirs yet?
No, but they sent me a tracking number. Don't understand why they sent for a magazine... maybe I was hassling them a bit much. Looks like the special issue & gift is included, too.
