I don't hate cats but I don't like it either. Their poop smells so disgusting and they eat my foods.
Tell us, which poop doesn't smell disgusting lol

Hopefully, disabling signatures is allowed to every member. I agree too, it's not annoying, but I was curious. Signatures tho, are.
You can also disable users signatures on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=themeI don't know if everyone can do that or if it's only for higher ranked users, though. - Don't show users' avatars. - Don't show users' signatures.
I can confirm the features apply to all ranks; tested on my alt.

My understanding is the national security law bans calling for democracy in Hong Kong worldwide. This means being outside of Hong Kong will not protect you if you later travel to Hong Kong. I understand someone calling for democracy in Hong Kong while in the United States, Europe, Africa, or anywhere else would be subject to arrest if they later traveled to Hong Kong.
Yup, especially for those extremely dissident towards the CCP. China would still try to extradite them from neutral or China-friendly nations so that's another thing to be concerned about. Still, this forum hasn't been used as a mouthpiece yet[i/]; nobody knows how safe this forum would be in the future.

Nobody is going to beat this guy.
Is that really possible? I mean, during those rounds. He did not even click on a freeroll to claim the BTC faucet and have free lottery tickets. Only one of three possible events: First, he just bought a lottery ticket using a satoshi. Second, from one of his referrals who only once claimed the faucet for a week. Third, from his play Multiply BTC wagger a total of 500 satoshis Is he so lucky? I also think that he is really the lucky one and no one can beat him. Well... as long as you have a ticket, you standa chance to win ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) *cries*

I'm becoming more and more interested in diet, and the carrots reference was a bit of a joke. Well carrots contain lutein and beta carotein, and both are antioxidents that can improve eye health, but there is more to it than that. If you are sitting in front of a screen for long period, don't start at it solidly, but look out of a window frequently, and focus on trees and houses in the distance. Get up and walk around now and then to give yourself a break.
My current job requires me to focus on the screen the whole day. Moving aroun except for toilet breaks is going to be a challenge, which is easier at home.

Unfortunately this is cat-and-mouse game. No matter how much we suppress these kind of links, more are bound to appear. It's like Hydra; cut off one head and two would take its place.
Scams are bound to happen. We could only do so much.

That is why this forum does not implement KYC on this forum.
There's no reason for a forum to actually implement KYC when basic data is already sufficient. It's not a business after all.

Holy! I never thought I would see 78 year old person on Internet forum that too Bitcoin related.

i have watched in CNN even before pandemic about this issue that the very Famous apps are being used by Chinese government to spy the whole world.
But there are also arguments about How does Apple company also being used by the US government to spy the world as well.
There are always argument but do these countries will admit their paticipations?
Honestly speaking, if it wasn't for data mining or spying, our lives wouldn't be so easy as they are right now. For example, YouTube's video and channel recommendation, Twitter's trending posts, what's new, stuffs in your browsing history. We can talk about security concerns and whatnot, but without the convenience of all these tech, we'd still be frustrated in finding what we really want. Using the YouTube above for example, if I were to browse cooking videos frequently, I'd love to see different cooking channels on my feed instead of manually searching for them among other genres. Having to choose between a megacorp and a threat actor to access our data, I think many, if not all would go for the former because of the trust factor.

you mean Google has left the chat ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Oh, Google is way larger than Microsoft. And it's integrated in our phones ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Except Apple of course. But still, chances are that those iPhone owners have registered for Google at some point.

Looks really nice and fun... Shouldn't be toooo hard to create an online version either. A quick google turned up a couple php/mysql monopoly scripts like this one: sourceforge.net/projects/gamedaemon/ (completely untested, not my script). A lot of good idears for the "chance" and "community chest" cards pop to mind: - You invested in a PONZI and lost 0.01 BTC
Remembered this guy? ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.kym-cdn.com%2Fentries%2Ficons%2Foriginal%2F000%2F025%2F619%2Fbitconnect-carlos-meme.png&t=663&c=MnVZIPsK1rRitQ)

TikTok exploits the millennial mindset, in this regard it did a good job. But does it end with TikTok? No it doesn't.
All these social media apps are a type of trojan, some data mine you, some outright spy you and some do more...
If the app you use isn't Free and Open Source software, you are getting spied one way or another.
So it is bad if the Chinese gov spies but A OK if the US gov spies? No. Guess what the American apps do? Yes they do it. As long as your program is not Free and Open Source software, it may spy you and you have no way of telling.
Even operating systems like Windows are doing it it, but people don't care. Microsoft even pulls thumbnails of all your pictures, yet people keep using it. The millennials want to "share it all", they want to have fun... Big brother is happy and there is money to be made, thinks Zuckerberg, et al.
Do you have something to hide, citizen?
Google has entered the chat.

e-toro as per my understanding is a forex trading platform, when did they integrate crypto trading on to their platform?
I am not sure why anyone will use them to trade cryptocurrency? There are tons of cryptocurrency exchange providing the same service and are much better than them.
It is better to avoid such platforms.
IINM, it was since 2014. In 2014, eToro introduced bitcoin trading through contracts for difference (CFD) for some of its users, and classified it as a stock to help users familiarize themselves with the asset Mainly because eToro doesn't allow you to buy or sell; you only bet on the price movements. In other words, you don't own any crypto or Bitcoin on their platform. There are two things eToro offer that most don't; social media and copy traders.

When using Google to sign-in to a third-party site, the site does not gain access to your password, but rather Google validates your credentials, and sends a token to the site to manage. Google may also send: <…> These third-party sites or apps can request the name, email address, and profile picture associated with your account. <…>
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/112802?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=enWith the above, eToro (or any other third-party site allowing you to log-in using your Google credentials) may have stored your email, but not your password. I’d use 2FA with my Google account if it were the case. Thanks, my Google account has 2FA enabled. But unfortunately many sites still haven't integrated Google Sign In so if they get compromised, we're pretty much screwed.

Update: I suggested to her to create a new account so she can go here in this thread and ask what to do next...but it seems it was marked as Bad IP. 😂
That's really unlucky for a newbie IMO.
Tough luck... but isn't a person that is banned no longer welcomed, since she could try to appeal but a plagiarism ban (intentional or not) doesn't stand a chance to be overturned here. And I doubt a mod, let alone theymos is willing to shed light on this matter. I understand how she feels because I've seen cases whereby senior members got permbanned for an ancient plagiarized post. And not too long ago I was served a 3 days ban for refspam without an explanation , leaving me to find out by myself.

Oh great, saw this earlier on my Twitter feed.
Are Google users affected? By which I mean those using Google to sign in.

I started this topic on the same day when Coinpot was launched in 2017 (probably I should update topic title because it's not so new anymore). Coinpot actually have official topic, it was started day later than this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2007856.0But as you see, it's locked. And their account was last active back in February. So, I'm not sure, does owner follow this topic or no. And it's interesting about Reddit. It's strange that it was created few years before launch of Coinpot. #debunked. So the owner is aware of this forum, just that he didn't want to keep his thread open. Which is understandable since it'd be bombarded with more criticisms than questions ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

That's not the case. The email sent to OP is a phishing attempt.
I'm confused. So how can he be phished with those forum's seclock link since it will only lock the account only if the parameters used in the url are correct. In the case email address is changed, it will be reported in the user's trust page and seclog.
Not on trust page since it happened way back and trying to load loyce seclog to check. We need answers from the OP. Assuming that he's locked his account after clicking on that (and no login was required). I feel that the contents are legit, but its always best to check the sender's email.
