I wonder how Ronaldo joining United will effect peoples predictions now? Will they have a title shot now? I think they'll certainly give City a run for their money. The Manchester derby is on the 6th of November so looking forward to that one.
I bloody hope not. I don't want to see Manchester United winning the title ever let alone anytime soon. Undoubtedly, Ronaldo signing for United will change peoples perceptions, especially those that are fans of the club. I personally believe, and I'm trying to remove any bias from this prediction, that they'll finish either second or third. I think Chelsea at the moment are probably favourites, and you can never rule out Manchester City. Obviously, if I was to inject a little bias into it, I'd like to see Liverpool challenge for the title, but that's unlikely considering all of our rivals have strengthened, while we sat on our arse. I'd agree with Chelsea being the favorites but only slightly, However, they'd need to beat City at their long term consistency to win the league, a slightly over average performance all season wouldn't do it, they have to be on their toes all season long, and Liverpool would also be keeping a really close tab as well, It's really going to be a competitive league this season, I'd say... I really don't see Man Utd in the picture when the season started, and I'm afraid the addition of Ronaldo doesn't change my perspective, yet.

Not a bad decision for Barcelona to sell Griezmann to any club, The problem in my opinion is selling Griezmann and replacing him with Luuk de Jong (Sevilla player), this is very ridiculous in my opinion. Are Barcelona out of their minds to buy quality strikers? Even Luuk De Jong didn't play well enough at Sevilla First of all, Barca didn't sold Griezmann, they loaned him to Atletico. Also, Barca can't afford to buy players now, so, they loaned de Jong from Sevilla. I agree that this transfer doesn't looks good, but it's reality of Barca now. So, what we have in offense - Memphis, legendary Braithwaite, always injured Aguero and Dembele, not good enough for Sevilla de Jong and some kids. Barca fans, brace yourselves, winter is coming. Technically Barca loaned him out, but logically they sold Griezmann, there's a compulsory clause added for Atletico to buy him next season, which I guess was done so that Atletico Madrid can have further opportunities to buy additional players and remain within FFP, in order words Barcelona sold Griezmann but are not going to get paid next season, something they had to agree so as to rid of his wages as well. Luuk De Jong seem like a better choice imo, he's more of centre forward than Griezmann is, while the later is relatively not useful on the flank either, but since that can help reduce the situation of things at the club, then it is what it is.

Griezmann to Atletico, loan with an option to buy for 40 mil Euro. On paper looks like a no-brainer, great business by Atletico. He really did not have a great time in Barcelona, with him Atletico is probably a step closer to atacking the title. Maybe that's why they were pushing Saul to leave the club today.
I just checked why the contract is for only 2 years and wow - Griezmann is already 30 years old. Overall expected so much more from him.
The previous president (Josep Bartomeu) really made a huge mess of the club, honestly. Perharps Barcelona are trying to get whatever they can off Griezmann, since he was not able to live up to expectations, but given the situation of the club this season, I don't think that's by any means a smart, even if the club is not making Atletico stronger the sale, they're surely making themselves a weaker team. I hope the deal falls through by all means, and Saul to Chelsea is already a completed deal.

Messi made his debut for PSG against Reims. But I did not like Messi's performance in this match. The other players didn't help Messi too much. Messi was on the field for 26 minutes but could not make a single shot. It will take a lot of time for Messi to adapt to this team. And if the other players on the team can't adapt to Messi, then I don't expect a good performance from the PSG team in the Champions League.
Let's not forget that Messi has spent his entire career at Barcelona, and the Barcelona team was built around Messi to benefit from his full potential. It took years of work. Now he won't expect the same. There are other mentalities and other styles. It will require much more work to have this interconnection between the entire team. Messi is a great player, but this is still a great challenge. And now we're going to see if he's really capable of making excellent games, apart from the machine set up at Barcelona. Barcelona will undoubtedly struggle this season in the champions league, but I don't think it will be tough enough for them to exit the champions league early, like in the group stages. PSG would make a really great team in UCL, I'd say they're more stronger now, collectively... I'd even tip them to win the CL this season

It's been quite a busy day, haven't it ? I wonder what these teams making bids now have been doing all summer, stalking ?! One of the deals I never saw coming was Saul to Chelsea, that literally came out of nowhere, as I felt Chelsea are a complete team with multiple options in every part of the pitch and are ready for the new season... As for Barcelona I wonder they are doing, letting Griezmann go would be such a joke, they've already let go of two players without replacement, Dembele is never fit, Ansu Fati can't be relied upon given he's just returned from a long term injury, signing Olmo would be an outright waste of unavailable funds tbh... I'll rather just make do with this team, savage as much as possible from the season first then come prepare better ahead of January or next Summer window.

With the move Mbappe failing to work out, Real Madrid have decided to strengthen other position of the field, They have completed the signing of Eduardo Camavinga as per Fabrizio Romano's story, the deal is worth Over 31M, that's a really great signing imo, Valverde and Camavinga looks like future of Real's midfield post Kroos-Modric era Camavinga > Real: here we go!

looks like mbappe will not come to Real madrid after all https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2021/08/30/612c9aa746163f96a78b4595.htmlhe looked pretty happy last night, i mean, considering he "wants to leave" and his "dream club" is making a tremendous effort to sign him 🤨 From a sporting and financial perspective, it doesn't.
how come? he was the top goalscorer of serie A last season and 30M is not a lot of money in the current market I knew the deal was probably not going to happen, I just don't assume he will sign or not sign a new contract and leave for free next summer, all I know is he'll likely not PSG for free.. Emerson to Tottenham is the deal that Barcelona had to sell in order to cover its financial accounts this summer, after the exit of the names with higher wages faltered. 30 million euros to Tottenham . The rest of the details, according to several journalists. Barcelona are literally in deeper shit than the media knows about, they are looking sanction a sale of Ilaix Moriba to RB Leipzig as well... Barcelona can't even keep hold of their youngest stars, Moriba was actually impressive last season and let him leave for just 16M is really absurd, imo.

Liverpool game just returned me back on top and this is good because I just had 2.5 points before, with Liverpool correct score I got to 5.5 which is not bad.I am starting to like being at the top but I don't think after the three games of tomorrow I will be there again but I am hopeful I won't lose that many places.
I'm a Liverpool FC fan, so my prediction was 3-2, and it was totally wrong. Well, since 2-1 and even 1-0, was also considered wrong, I had no chance to score in this one. Congrats on the exact prediction, @swogerino, and also on taking the first place in the leaderboard! For me it was another bad round and I descended 5 places down to 38th position. What's good is that we have a lot of rounds ahead, and absolutely anyone still has a chance to be at the very top in the end(even those 2 players that haven't joined yet.) Join up, guys! Make the prize-pool 0.1 BTC bigger. I also dropped by 11 places to number 14th on the leaderboard, I knew it was going to be an awful week. I hate when the week result are filled with draws, and we had 5 draws this week, some were not so expected imo.. Congratulations to Hilarious for the winning the round, he often thrives with those draw picks.

I'm somewhat surprised by my own performances early here and in EPL. I know I've deliberately toned down on my upset predictions but anyway am sure my discipline won't hold out, not will everyone else keep misstepping;)
I am also surprised by my performance, only problem I am unpleasantly surprised. Never started the season this badly on all fronts. I am good at fantasy though. Kicking your ass there at least No matter, international break now and that means hard form reset and chance for some upsets. I really don't know what's more surprising over the weekend Atalanta and Sassuolo the usual heavy scoring/conceding teams both playing a goalless draw in their respective fixtures or Juventus dropping further points, all in all it was still not so a terrible week as I'm still second position overall. Now we have to go 10 days without club football

Oh Well, Villarreal have just taken the lead yet again and this time Luis Suarez is no longer on the pitch for Atletico Madrid, with just 13 minutes plus stoppage time left to play for.

Atletico Madrid - VillarrealI'm "pray" for Atletico Madrid to lose this game After playing literally nothing for almost an hours Villarreal have taken the lead against Atletico Madrid with was their very first attempt and shot of the game. Crazy! EDIT: Oh well, that didn't take long for Atletico Madrid to respond, with a goal from Luis Suarez.

Come on Pochettino, let's see Messi!
And on he comes! Lionel Messi finally making is debut for PSG, it still pretty much feels like a dream though, but we've all gotta move on It's probably an already settled game, with PSG ahead by two goals, but I'll seeing out the rest of the game two catch a glimpse of Messi's debut performance. EDIT: It's game over, there wasn't too much to see but I'm sure there is much more to look forward in the upcoming fixtures.

Another hard fought victory for struggling Barcelona in the end, the win keeps them on the same number of points with 4 other teams after 3 matches... The match of the day is Atletico Madrid vs Villarreal! The last meetings between these clubs ended in a win for Atletico or a draw! I don't think Villarreal will be able to beat Atletico today either, as they have been playing terribly lately! By the way, the odds on Atletico are 1.8... Easy money! Yeah atletico madrid are the clear favorites for me to win this match and 1.80 odds would be a very good bet on Atletico madrid and also I would think not a lot of goals would be scored in this match so total goals under 2.5 would be a good choise as well. It's not going to be an easy game for either team, Atletico Madrid seem the favorites on the books, but Villarreal might pull an upset, even though they're yet to score after two games, they also haven't conceded any goal too. I agree it's likely going to be a boring game and one short of goals, perhaps nil-nil draw (that'd Villarreal's third in a row), or a lone goal victory for either side.

Bagged 12/1 win on Empoli, although as I said yesterday, the odds should really have been far higher. I guess without Ronaldo, despite his age and price tag, still big enough for the bookies to tick their odds down.
Not going to be good value throughout the season anymore if the best I could get was 12x on a promotee playing away.
Time for a new champion in Serie A!
Cool cash! Congratulations.. I'm still rooting for Juventus to go all the way though, they've had similar runs like this during the 6-7 years monopoly.. It's going to be tougher this season thought as they lack a little of stars players in their top form like they used to. I had 4.5 points in the first 2 fixtures for this week, and just 1 point from the 4 fixtures after that 😮

snip.. That's some nice rewards, more so coming from a freebet. It must be said that the red card literally change the game, Chelsea were the better side before the red card and are forced to sit back in the 2nd half, It could have been a whole lot different even if the penalty was awarded and James didn't get sent off, but rules are rules, I suppose.
They looked just a tad better yes, but the glancing header was something special and Liverpool actually had more shots and chances, just a bit poor at the end. If Elliot were just a shade better at finishing and more courageous (had at least a couple of chances but opted to pass), maybe. But yeah, surprised Chelsea just sat back but they were probably happier with the draw than we were. Impossible to crack when we're not at our creative best. No surprise quite a few people got exact scores;) Boo. I had LFC to win, so I got a goose egg. Boo! Chelsea did look like the better side, even with only ten men. They couldn't help but give LFC all those chances, but they did a good job keeping them away form the goal for the most part. Ironically LFC's best chances were during that fiasco that got James red-carded, while Chelsea still had 11 men. I've never had it worse before, I got Liverpool to win too... I've only accrued 2.5 points from 7 games played already, I'm down to 41 position for the week

Yeah, those draws killed me, and the funny thing is this season I actually thought to predict more draws -- so I did get the exact score on Newcastle (thanks VAR and sorry NotATether).
Also thanks VAR for the Liverpool game. Think the sending off was a tad harsh but then it was a clear Mane goal prevented with Reece's arm and the ref didn't have a choice. Lovely to see the red mist descend on Chelski after that heh. Hope we smash a few more in.
It's still all square and 5 minutes to go, Mendy with some really impressive saves to keep Chelsea in the game... It must be said that the red card literally change the game, Chelsea were the better side before the red card and are forced to sit back in the 2nd half, It could have been a whole lot different even if the penalty was awarded and James didn't get sent off, but rules are rules, I suppose.

Arsenal gets a red card at 35' and basically falls apart after that. I read some guys on twitter predicting 0-5 for Arsenal, 1-2 etc I'm glad I went for the long shot in city though even now it looks like they're going to stun everybody with a stupidly high 7-0 result. As usual for Arsenal, great 5 minutes of football, then 85 minutes of being annihilated...\ It was a one sided affair from start to finish, Xhaka never just seize to amaze me, what needles and horrible tackle, lucky for Cancelo to have escaped to full effect of the tackle, It was a deserved red card! We've the tricky 3PM fixtures up next, these are usually the first set of hurdles the week potential winners needs to jump first, Brighton or Everton

Pinging again because we have games tonight. Valencia are the bookie favorites and they did start well but I keep wondering if we will end up getting scarred if we put our faith on them because last season, they were horrendous overall, only winning 10 games, while bookies kept putting them as favs.
First game is hard to pick though. I guess a draw?
Both are hard to pick, at least for me. Leaning towards the draws for now but will probably change something till the deadline. Waiting for my multi 5 insurance on Sportsbet to reset and then I am searching for some markets. Probably one or both of La liga games are going to the ticket so some research is in the plan for me later today. Sheesh, I got 2 close scores. And Valencia scoring 3 goals and not letting in any? I thought my 2-0 was also overly ambitious and yet it only got me half the points. That's what I mean about Valencia, they just want to play like this and trick you into thinking they're finally going to do well. Or are they going to maybe? So frustrating:) I have to say well done to tomahawk09 for getting it 3-0! Quite an impressive way to start the game week for me, I had one exact score and one close prediction (I could have had both exact though) I just couldn't have foresee Valencia scoring 3 goals, but still 8 games to play for. Mallorca really held their ground after taking the early lead.

Never saw this move coming. It was all City in the news and then bam - United done deal.
No one saw this coming, the deal was literally hijacked with relative ease and it didn't even take a minute for all terms to reached and everything to be finalised, It really was easy for Man Utd to make contact due to the past relationship and what the deal would have meant for the fans and Ronaldo himself... It's a big win for the club already, the club stocks was said to have soared by more 8% since the announcement 🥳

Yeah, according to recent news, Manchester United have also joined the race to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. And it is claimed that Manchester City gave up on him and they won't make any offer for Ronaldo. If this is all true, we can see Ronaldo at Manchester United again after so many years. I would like to say that it is time to bring good memories back. Let's see the result of this transfer first. It's really crazy and funny how this deal has unfolded all within the last 24 hours. It's almost certain now that Ronaldo would be making a return to the old trafford to join Manchester United, that'd be a major boost to club's imo, but with City being shut out yet again after losing out on Harry Kane, is there a possibility of them still making a big signing before the transfer window closes.
