I do not claim, i am myself.
Yet you can't provide any evidence for your claims.

If you had brain to re-search who you're talking with, you would realize our "brand" was sold with BoglaGold years ago when Runescape wanted to sue us.
How convenient. So no way to check your identity.

I had (and maybe still have) more than 10 active impersonators back in the days. And i won't be surprised if someone claim to be me.
Maybe you are one those impersonators.

If you like to build your own name and become a trusted member, better check out how the big guys doing it.
If you really wanted to build up your name, why making account using the name from some other forum, that you sold and have absolutely no way to confirm your identity? Doesn't make much sense to me to be honest...
4282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin go high the poor will not participate on: August 24, 2021, 12:42:09 PM
I am thinking that if the bitcoin continue to go up to $100,000 and above.  it will be expensive for the poor people to invest. It will be for only rich people. It will be better for bitcoin will not go so much high so that it will be affordable to everybody to invest and have profit.
I thought the same back in late 2013/early 2014, when BTC was around ~1000 USD, that I was way too late, it was too expensive and I couldn't afford one whole Bitcoin so i tuned to alts (big mistake of course). But even if BTC drops to let's say 5K, I think majority of "poor" (I guess you mean ordinary) people would be scared to buy it as from my experience, Bitcoin was too expensive for them even when price was 80% lower than it is now.

Worst thing about that perception of being too late for Bitcoin is that turns people towards shitcoins, like it happened to me.

4283  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: At what Age will you introduce your child to trading on: August 24, 2021, 09:14:34 AM
Child? Gambling? Trading? Understand the market? What the hell did I just read?
Exactly my thought!

The earlier you engage your child the more opportunity you open up for them. How about children in the movie industry, sports, entertainment even technical industry do you mean it deprives them of their childhood fun?
If you wanna screw up your kid, you will push him into movie industry. Majority of them end up completely fucked up with bunch of serious issues. And yeah, you will deprive them of their childhood fun, which they gonna feel later on in their life.

We live in a society where death can occur at any time will u rather leave them stranded?
Just because death can occur at any time doesn't mean that you have to push your kids prematurely into anything. Crypto trading at 13/15 years old and you think that will make them financially responsible? /facepalm. One thing is to introduce them to crypto in general, but trading is a completely different thing. If anything, I think they will end up being degenerate gamblers more than financially responsible.

4284  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum on Android on: August 24, 2021, 07:04:30 AM
Hm, I am using Electrum on my phone for quite some time, and haven't experienced any issues. I have Samsung Galaxy Note 10 which is a little bit older phone than your Poco x3 and not significantly stronger and its working smoothly.

Since Poco x3 has decent hardware, maybe try to clean it up a little bit. From my experience Xiaomi devices slow down soon after purchasing, but still it shouldn't be that bad as its still a relatively new phone.
4285  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] Tackling the spam on: August 24, 2021, 06:48:15 AM
Maybe. The main problem I have with "more rules" is that's it's usually going only in one direction, and there will always be people asking for even more rules.
True, and having less rules on bitcointalk makes sense as it goes in the line with whole Bitcoin philosophy of self responsibility etc, just wanted to say that little adjustments wouldn't hurt that "freedom" feeling we have here (which I like a lot as in majority of other forums you can easily get banned just by having unpopular opinion).

I am not saying that what @BlackHatCoiner suggested is right approach either, but I definitely wouldn't mind (or felt oppressed) if forum is more strict when it comes to spam/shitposters. The same way I don't feel like having less freedom due plagiarism rule and I wouldn't want it to get lifted just so we can say that we are more free.

4286  Economy / Reputation / Re: [LIST] ANN threads that are using bumping services on: August 23, 2021, 05:34:44 PM
Several new announcement threads  been added to the list ( and spam reported) of those that are using bumping services. Based on their M.O, it seems like they hired notorious Vitor Services which is by now a household name here on bitcointalk. Whack-a-mole game goes on..

[ANN] OUDToken - Real Green Cryptocurrency | PRE-ICO TOMORROW 🚀
[Ann] MELD- the first DeFi, non-custodial, banking protocol
[Ann] K-Base presents The Great Vault Dalí Challenge!
[ANN] IMM Global - Insurance of Market Maker

4287  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] Tackling the spam on: August 23, 2021, 06:52:22 AM
I read this Benjamin Franklin quote recently:
Quote
Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
This quote applies here too. As much as I hate spam, "online freedom" is becoming more and more scarce. And once it's gone, you won't easily get it back.
Question here is whether more "freedom" means bitcointalk being a better place. For example, on some other forums that I am currently active I am free to plagiarize as much as I want without being banned (I will be ostracized and ridiculed though). Having more freedom in that regard doesn't make it a better place in my eyes, I like bitcointalk's firm stance on the issue.

These sig campaigners could take their time and write well thought-out posts, but they don't for whatever reason. I suspect one of those reasons is that they have alt accounts enrolled in multiple campaigns/bounties and therefore can't spend time crafting decent posts.  So that puts the blame squarely on the individual, not the campaign itself.  And that's where I think most of it is deserved.
I don't think that main cause (or even one of the main ones) of low quality posts is due sig campaigners maintaining several alts but because of simple reason: they are getting paid for those shitposts anyway so why would they change? So in the end, it's up to managers so sort that out. Then again, there are far more spots in signature campaigns than there are quality members and situation is not getting any better.

After scamming a lot money in the past until now and want to clean their bad reputation by run signature campaign, review contest, and now they hire brand new user to bump their ANN thread (or possible he's created bunch of those alts)
For some reason 1xbit hasn't been added to the list up until now, but that will be sorted. Their ANN has been shilled by quite some time now, but based on their M.O it looks more like they made those sock puppet account by themselves rather than hiring one of those "marketing agencies". After all, it costs exactly 0 to create new account, and once it gets tagged/banned, they just create new ones. Rinse and repeat.
4290  Other / Meta / Re: [Proposal] Tackling the spam on: August 22, 2021, 09:25:02 AM
We already have a method to fight spam. It is the merit system. I do not understand why managers do not use it more effectively.
For example, if a user posts 50 times per week without earning a single merit, they are very likely signature spammers.
I am not so sure that would be a good idea, to differentiate sig spammers by amount of merit earned, as in some boards it's much harder to get merit, which would lead to people writing even more in boards that are not natural to them just to get some merit. Its the same reason why gambling boards is a mess; a lot of sig campaigns have a requirement to write there so participants are forced to write there even they know squat about stuff they are writing about.

It should be simple really; if managers control their participants more there would be less spam. But since there are more open spots in sig campaigns than there are quality members, this is what we have. Whether they want it or not, they have to hire spammers  in order to fill up the campaign as i doubt some manager would say to potential client "sorry, with the amount you wanna offer, I can only get you shitposters".
4291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Share your costly lesson about cryptocurrency.. on: August 21, 2021, 12:23:39 PM
Back in 2017 I had a crash course on Internet/bitcoin wallet security that was quite expensive and almost made me quiet crypto all together. Then again, the way I didn't pay much attention to security it was bound to happen so better if it happened when I had 0.1 BTC instead later. Instead writing it all over again, here is a quite from that bitcointalk interview series.

As many other noobs, I lost a lot while investing in various altcoins but the one that hurt the most was when I lost almost everything I had due phishing. I still feel stupid every time I remember that, but I learned few things from that loss and maybe some other noob reading this won't repeat my mistakes.

So, few days before Christmas 2017 (iirc it was 23.12) I was waiting for some BTC so I opened blockchain wallet. It was quite a shock to say the least when I saw that instead of 0.1 BTC my balance was 0. Completely confused I am sending the message to friend, asking can he check my address, but of course only thing he could do is confirm that my BTC is indeed gone. Upon checking the address where my BTC went I saw quiet a lot of BTC, and new one kept coming, making me believe it was a work of an experienced scammer.

Mistake I did? Earlier that day for some stupid reason I typed "blockchain.info" into Google instead having it bookmarked, leading me to a phishing page. After few sleepless nights during which I seriously considered to get rid off crypto I had left ( beside BTC I had a little bit of ETH ) and simply forget about all this. But then I said to myself "fuck it, shit happens, move on" and I did. Next day I ordered hardware wallet and here I am still.

That experience is the main reason why I am active in scambusting as I felt how it is to loose basically everything due my own negligence and stupidity.
4292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins on: August 18, 2021, 05:49:01 AM
But still, if you dump your altcoin right now, your profit will not be too big because almost the altcoins price is down a lot and it is waiting for the next bull run that can happen this year or next year.
Waiting for better times doesn't always end up well and more often than not you will end up with having less if you stick to altcoins, at least in the long run. Back in 2018 I decided to do something similar to what OP is doing; I sold all my alts except ETH and put everything into BTC which proved to be a great decision. Majority of them I sold with the loss, but I would be at even bigger loss now if I decided to wait.

I worry about the long-term future of their viability. At the time of this writing, it seems as if the sky is the limit and these projects are not only growing, but here to stay. However, things aren't always as they seem and I'm starting to wonder if it may be more prudent to dump and invest solely in BTC which I feel provides the most benefit to society and potentially has the most durability.
During bull everything looks great, but once we hit the bear, true nature of altcoins will be shown. If you want to sleep better and worry less, going all BTC is a pretty good idea. I did something similar few years ago, and I haven't regretted so far.
4293  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest as NFT on: August 17, 2021, 11:12:09 AM
I guess we only need IFTFOs - Initial Face-to-Face Offerings to round up the freak show. Maybe next year.
Haha might be. It's a common misconception here on bitcointalk (I thought the same until I started to dig deeper ) the ICOs died out and that they are not popular anymore, while in reality they just changed the name, adjusted approach and are definitely playing the smarter game than in 2017, even though end result is usually the same- people loosing money. The fact that they don't need bitcointalk anymore for marketing their crap is probably giving that impression, there are more efficient platforms for that nowadays.

There is some potential in the industry though. Especially getting a chance to own an in-game character whose skills you have been building and developing for a long time. Once it becomes possible to import and export these characters between different games, it could be interesting to see what will happen.
Yeah, that's the implementation I am most interested in, gaming. But not in some shitty browser games like Alien Worlds which are just using NFTs to attract crypto speculators, but in a real AAA PC games where NFTs are utilized in a meaningful way and focus is on gamers. Since creation of such game takes at least 3-4 years and tens of millions of dollars, it will take some time before we get something good, but I am really looking forward to it.
4294  Other / Meta / Re: Creating فارسی (Persian) Sub-Board under Local Board on: August 17, 2021, 07:48:24 AM
Be fair, what can somebody write in a single thread?
Take a look at other threads in Other Languages section. In some of them there are dozens of active members writing hundreds of posts per month, and yet they are still waiting for their own local board, while you don't meet either of those two requirements, at least not yet.

The same thing was with my local board (Croatian); we also had only one thread and we got our own local board after forum staff  got convinced that there is enough interest and a real need for our own local board. And same thing happened for every other local board as that's how it works; first you have to show that there is a real need for your own local board, and then go for it and not the other way around.

Even then, it will take some time (probably years) before you get your own local board as those in charge don't wanna make new board just to die out in a year or two, like it happened with quite a few boards already so they want to be absolutely sure that it makes sense to make a new one.

For example why you just count one thread? what if I aggreagte all persian topics in Other languages/locations board?
Well, do that then, add all that to your first post as an extra argument.

Just my 2 cents as I am not the one who decides on the matter. By the way, I am not against making new boards, on the contrary, I think that at least 2-3 communities deserve their own.
4295  Other / Meta / Re: Are useful links allowed or are they categorically excluded? on: August 17, 2021, 07:34:24 AM
It is reasonable that this is the case, but my friend was banned for linking to a very long external article, of which he reposted the initial part: title, summary, index, link.
First to say that this "asking for friend" thing always make me chuckle. Cheesy

Now that you mentioned that "your friend" get banned for reposting a very long article, did he just copy/pasted whole artile and just shared link at the bottom, without providing own comment on the matter? I am asking because someone might report it for being a low quality post, which it is if it was made that way.

By the way, what's your "friend" username? Posts are archived here so we should be able to see the post that got him banned?
4296  Other / Meta / Re: Creating فارسی (Persian) Sub-Board under Local Board on: August 17, 2021, 06:03:14 AM
Persian speaking community from Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan and other countries are strength enough to have a separate sub-board on bitcointalk forum.
Not really, according to the numbers in your local thread. Since creation back in 2014, 581 posts were written, and this year only ~20. These numbers indicate that there is not enough interest for writing in Persian, at least for now.

Best you can do is to start being more active in that one and try to bring more people into that thread so maybe one day you have a chance for your own local board, but as @Bitcoin_Arena, it won't be easy to get one.
4297  Other / Meta / Re: What do you think of the Bitcoin Discussion section? Does he need to change? on: August 16, 2021, 05:30:40 PM
They care only about the quantity of the posts and the visibility of their signature. Maybe the admins should consider a pilot program of some sorts. Don't allow altcoin signature participants to post in the Bitcoin Discussion boards for a week or two and see what will happen in terms of spam, reported and deleted posts, etc. It might be too restrictive and controversial though.
Looking at Bitcoin discussion board, it doesn't seem to me that it's dominated by altcoin signatures and that they are the main cause of the issues. On the contrary, seems to me that majority of posts are written by those that are in Bitcoin signature campaigns. Current bar set to enter one of the signature campaigns paid in BTC is very low due high amount of campaigns and lack of quality members, so even a  shitposter  with 5-10 merits in the last 120 will be capable to secure a spot.

Now that signature campaigns are mentioned, I wish managers remove subpar participants more often but then again, I understand why they don't do that as they probably won't find adequate replacements so they just go on as it is.
4298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the legal status of Bitcoin in your country? on: August 16, 2021, 05:14:32 PM
10% + what we call surtax, which depends on where you live in the country - and as far as I can see in the capital surtax is as much as 18%.
True, I forgot about surtax as in the part of Croatia where I have residence we have 0% surtax, so I kinda got used to not take that into consideration. AFAIK Zagreb has the highest legally possible surtax in Croatia and yeah, it's far from negligent amount.

I don’t know how smart that is, because laws can change at any time - and it’s also a question of whether there is any condition for a person to be exempt from paying crypto taxes (in terms of length of stay in the country). If I went to live in Portugal with a crypto I bought in another country, would that mean I don’t have to pay taxes if I sell that same crypto in Portugal?
Well, they are really adamant about avoiding paying crypto taxes in Croatia out of principle (corruption etc) so they are looking for ways to pay as little as possible, or avoid at all. Some of them are also full time in crypto and plan to stay in this industry so they are looking for a long term solutions.  Another option I heard them mentioning is Belarus which also allegedly has very favorable crypto/tax laws (or lack of Cheesy).
4299  Other / Meta / Re: 10th anniversary art contest as NFT on: August 16, 2021, 01:55:18 PM
Sure they are. They just changed the packaging, added some new colors, and started calling them differently. Now you have Initial Exchange Offerings (IEO) and Security Token Offerings (STOs). Once people become tired of those, they'll invent the next big thing, like NFTs.
As a matter of fact, both IEO and STO are kinda thing of the past, and the latest and most popular thing now is IDO (Initial Dex Offerings), but the end goal is pretty much the same, to take money from naive, greedy and ignorant, like it was in ICO times.

Regarding NFTs, it's true that there is a shit load of hype around it that reminds of 2017 altcoins craze, but I think that they are here to stay and with the time we gonna get implementations that actually make sense, once we are over with this initial hype and bunch of useless crap.
4300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the legal status of Bitcoin in your country? on: August 16, 2021, 10:29:26 AM
What is very positive for crypto investors is that capital gains tax is not necessary to pay, if at least 2 years have passed since the day of purchase.
Yep, so it's not really that hard to avoid taxes in Croatia (which are moderate, 10%) if you don't have issues hodling a little bit. But even with that relatively low tax rate, people tend to avoid paying taxes in Croatia, at least people around me and they don't even care about that 2 years thing.

The choice of physical outlets where it is possible to buy/sell cryptocurrencies has really increased recently, and the fact that there is still no KYC can be thanked to our incompetent government (at least they are good at something) which has not yet adopted AMDL5 which should have come into force in early 2020. I agree that it is only a matter of time before that changes.
Those are some of the rare perks of not living in the first-world country. Same reason why majority of people in Croatia are avoiding paying crypto taxes. That will change though, and few of my friends are already looking into possibility of moving to Portugal as they have zero taxes on crypto there.
