4281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What did you do with your bitcoin today? on: March 08, 2015, 07:45:24 PM
i didn't do much today with bitcoin regarding spending or buying and so on.
today was just browsing through some old threads from satoshi here on this forum.
i try to collect as many coins as i can before actually spending them.
4282  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't jump! It's not that bad....yet. on: March 08, 2015, 07:05:24 PM
we might not even see bitcoin under $200 ever again. and on the moment $300 is more reasonable than low $200 range. but if it goes sub $200 i think people will buy as many coins as possible.
4283  Economy / Economics / Re: Is money one of the three most important things in your life? on: March 08, 2015, 06:56:44 PM
health for me is always the most important but having a nice amount of money is not a punishment.
being happy in life is worth more than all the wealth of the world.
4284  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monster transaction: 39016 BTC!! on: March 07, 2015, 11:11:45 PM
what is the purpose of sending huge amounts of coins without fee.
a lot of the monster size transactions are sent without fee. is there a special reason for that?

Dick swinging maybe? Perhaps it sends a thrill through a miner to process such a huge transaction. Or perhaps it's to prove an obscure point.

What point, though? The fee is almost non-existent as it is. There's really not much of a difference between going from a $0.00x fee to no fee.

With that said, there's really no REASON to pay a fee if it's not required. But I don't think it's any sort of "statement" or anything. It would mean more if we were closer to the extremely small block rewards.

with 25btc blocks the miners fee is too small to get you anything decent.
having that said, a fee of just a few $ cents can make your transaction confirm so much faster.
i don't think saving $0,0X is worth waiting hours and hours. especially for large transactions.
4285  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchase and hold some alt coins with play money on: March 07, 2015, 11:01:43 PM
i think it's better to just focus on bitcoin instead of altcoins.
there are so many altcoins that have lost 99% of their value.
if you still decide to invest in altcoins make sure you avoid the bad coins.
4286  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Favourite Exchange? on: March 07, 2015, 02:23:00 AM
Localbitcoins is a huge RIPOFF if you ask me. The asking price of bitcoins is anywhere from 5% to 30% over market value.

I don't care how anonymous it is to buy bitcoins on localbitcoins I will not pay up to 30% above market rate for coins. It's fucking extortion!

some people can't buy bitcoins elsewhere. for them localbitcoins is the only option.
then again, i can imagine paying around 2 or 3 percent above market rate if that's your only option to buy btc.
anything over 10 percent is insane.

4287  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I sell my EUROs? on: March 06, 2015, 08:00:13 PM
buy bitcoin if you don't like to trade fiat currencies. current euro value is low but i don't think it will stay like this forever. great thing with bitcoin is that 1btc is always 1btc.
4288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you "scared" that Bitcoin might actually succeed? on: March 06, 2015, 03:35:09 PM
I am scared because I will no longer be able to afford it without fear of coming back to $200 again

I feel the same.
BTC had many ups and downs in the past, so nobody can predict what will happen in the future.
Hoping the best Smiley

no need to be scared. once we don't use the term 0,01btc anymore every one will count in bits.
then no one have to be affraid of no longer being able to afford it.
but before the change make sure you hold enough coins to be happy with.
4289  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which BTC wallet are you using on: March 06, 2015, 01:01:01 PM
i'm planning to buy an android phone very soon. from what i see the blockchain wallet is probably the best there.
i am currently using web browser to access my wallet on windows phone. an app is way better.
4290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the rumor about the latest 50,000 BTC auction true? on: March 06, 2015, 12:54:47 PM
doesn't make sense at all. there is no need to pay a premium above market rate. that just doesn't sound right.
i would like to think the price is around or a bit under market value. it's an auctoin.

4292  Economy / Economics / Re: EUR might drop below USD on: March 05, 2015, 05:02:35 PM
Euro just dropped further! 12 year low  Shocked

it's going to drop even further. nothing shows any sign of recovery any time soon.
i only hope it will not go below the us dollar. for me as european it's horrible.
4293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: blockchain.info now shows CHINA mining 54% of BTC on: March 05, 2015, 01:50:57 AM
china was going to leave other parts of the world behind from the moment they entered bitcoin.
the ban in china didn't and won't do anything about that. we just have to accept it.
chances are there that it might reach a stunning 75% of the network.
4294  Economy / Speculation / Re: This a good time to buy? on: March 04, 2015, 06:32:54 PM
i usually buy $50 worth of BTC but bought over $100 already this month.
i will probably keep buying every month till i have a decent amount.
so for me it's a great time to buy. i'm saving everything till i see something nice to buy.
4295  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange do you use and why ? on: March 04, 2015, 06:28:12 PM
i was using btc-e exchange but started using kraken too.
kraken is a great exchange for me as an european to deposit euro's.
they have very responsive and helpful support too. if there is anything they will fix it in a short time.
btc-e isn't bad but i wish they had english support.
4296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silk Road Documentary Teaser on: March 04, 2015, 02:23:39 AM
just had a look at the trailer. from what i see it looks great. quite detailed.
only wish the release would be a bit sooner.
also, isn't silkroad the first successful "merchant" ever in bitcoin?
4297  Economy / Speculation / Re: The train is leaving... to the MooOoOooOoOOOONnn on: March 03, 2015, 07:43:36 PM
why so much hurry. before saying $400 $700 let it first reach $300.
after that we will see what happen. and if it hits $300 how long will it stay above that.
4298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Eventually Kill Facebook? on: March 03, 2015, 05:04:15 PM
Facebooks ipo happened during the wrong astroligical planet formation thus will fail soon.. They should have renamed it to avoid the ccollapse...

your words are based on....?
certain social media sites made the mistake by not adopting the way we use internet.
facebook on the other hand does know that. at least now. if it keeps improving they will stay for many years.
4299  Economy / Speculation / Re: dump is happening on: March 03, 2015, 03:32:49 PM
a small dump and you quickly opened a thread just for that??
how long have you been in trading? a few days?
traders are taking profit. that's it.
4300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin on wall street journal font page on: March 03, 2015, 03:11:49 PM
it's nice to see that a large news paper puts bitcoin in frontpage but i think people are getting happy too quickly.
let's hope it will reach front pages more often.
