4281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: December 26, 2020, 03:11:46 PM
I would erase the Bucks, they are only good in the regular season.

They need to prove me wrong first.

I don't know what Bucks will do in play-offs but for Yesterday's games Bucks was a clear favorite against Golden State. This 39 point difference win is no surprise. Bookmakers gave only 1.10 odds for Bucks.
Klay is not going back soon, so Warriors can't even make play-offs this year.

All I hope for the Bucks is to improve and be more competitive in the playoffs.

Last season they are the best team in the regular season but I think this season is different, and they might not even finish the top 1 in the East as we have the Nets who are also doing pretty well with the leadership of Durant and Irving. honestly, I like this way so people's attention are not only on the Bucks, and less pressure on their part, especially on Giannis.
They probably finished in the 1-3 spot but won't dominate the East just like what they did in the last 2 years finishing as the top seed in the East. They also had a couple of changes that didn't improved them, while Nets (with KD) and the Celtics and even the 6'ers upgraded it will be hard for Giannis to dominate again.

But the most important is how they play in the playoff because they usually choke.
4282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can you stake...? on: December 25, 2020, 04:12:11 PM
I think you can stake with the same IP address at the same PC using a single core node.

So definitely there will be no problem with two separate PC with the same IP address. But it's better to know what crypto you are planning to do this kind of setup because every staking might have a different protocol. So our advise might be wrong here.
4283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another invesment bank plans to invest on Bitcoin on: December 25, 2020, 03:26:42 PM
I've always wondered why this kind of news appears when bitcoin prices are rising. Why didn't they offer people to buy bitcoin when it was worth 4-5-6-7-8K?
All this makes me think that the price will fall soon!
Maybe there are companies who already invested when the price is still that low but didn't get any media attention. Remember that when we are in a bull run, every news counts that's why we will hear them more often in a positive sentiments to boost the price even higher. That's why crypto media says that bitcoin narrative has change because after the price hits $15k-$16k, this news comes out making bitcoin  as an hedge, besides being a speculative asset.
4284  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with crypto for government services on: December 25, 2020, 01:47:47 PM
Do you think governments around the world will allow people to pay with crypto for their services? Or is it still too early to tell? Will accepting crypto payments directly, increase people's confidence into crypto/Blockchain tech? If not, why? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Smiley
I think it will be more of a function of a CDBC nd if my memory serves me right, Maduro's Petro evolved into this, as he allowed government services to be paid with government back up coins. However, I don't know if crypto, bitcoin in particular will be utilize by government. It will be too much of a hassle for them and they don't want them to be a crypto holder. Unless the country is really pro bitcoin, it will have a lot of disadvantage of them. So it's going to be CDBC and not our dear crypto.
4285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: December 25, 2020, 01:14:15 PM
James Harden must quarantine until Friday; could play in opener

Harden wanting to go so just messing up with his team now, I thought they will do great with John Wall but it seems like Harden is not anymore as hungry as he was before with his team, so the team can't rely on him, and with this news about his violation, it will affect his bid for MVP this season which we know he is always at the top 5 or even top 3.
Yeah, saw pics of Harden in a private party and my initial thought is that this is not good. So the NBA has found out, fine $50 because of that irresponsibility. It's just the beginning of the season and it's seem that Harden has started in the wrong foot here. The pandemic is not over, even if it Christmas holiday, everyone should follow safety protocols, specially a high level athlete like him shouldn't be seen like this. I'm not sure though if he had issue a public apology for his act.
4286  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wow, The Best Crypto Christmas 🌲 Ever! on: December 25, 2020, 12:49:57 PM
Yeah, I think everyone is in the jolly mood this Christmas because it been a continues pump since last week, a super rally that we didn't expect (at least in my case). So let's just celebrate this holiday and share our blessings to other who are in need. And we have to thank bitcoin for that, eventhough in the beginning it was really a tough year specially with the Covid-19 in March, at least we are going to end the year with a new all time high. Merry Christmas to everyone, whichever part of the world you are.  Grin
4287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is headed for the stars, but... on: December 25, 2020, 12:14:19 PM

But if you can, hang onto the Bitcoins you have. Because you will be rich when BTC goes to a $million or higher.

Cool

Hodling bitcoin is not the sure pattern to have profit. Learning to trade it I think will benefit more to someone. Although anyway way you can lose your investment both for hodling and trading but faster gains come from trading it because a daily trader of bitcoin who makes profit is better comparing just hodling.

Yeah, but not everyone is built for bitcoin trading, because will likely loss if they know how to trade in the first place that's why the whole HODL mentality steam from. And those who are selling are the weak hands, they shouldn't be buying bitcoin in the first place or at least didn't know the ups and downs of the market and will simply be pressured to push the sell button if bitcoin price suddenly went on a flash crash. But there could be newbies learning from their mistakes so from weak hands -> strong hands in the future and not going to sell unless there is a needed circumstance, like bringing food for their love ones.
4288  Economy / Speculation / Re: $25,000 can be achieved by end of year? Or January 2021? on: December 24, 2020, 09:56:23 PM
Well we still have plenty of days ,few days ago bitcoin struggling to come back at 19k yet it breaks 24,000 ,so what's impossible for bitcoin to achieve ?

i'm still in good faith that another ATh will happen before the year ends ,specially that Ripple investors seems to be changing course now.

There are issue with Ripple right now, I check it today a 25% decline in the last 7 days? What gives?

So I don't know if Ripple investors are shifting to bitcoin, or the king is still unstoppable at this point and investors are really targeting that big $25k before the end of this year. Why not though, we all know that the market moves in a positive direction when everyone is still in FOMO season.
4289  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin? on: December 21, 2020, 10:47:34 PM
Here we are again at crossroads to choose whether to cashout bitcoin which we have or else Hodl for some more time? This week is undoubtedly most complicated week of the year for bitcoin users because history has not been so kind to bitcoin towards the end of year's post bullruns. If Bitcoin has already achieved its ATH for the season then it's better to cashout but if Bitcoin is going to surge further then HODling is sensible but how do you figure out as we cannot depend of predictions since it fails most of the time. What's your opinion?

Well if you don't need the fiat equivalent of your BTC then why sell it today? It just make things complicated when you need fiat in this holiday so you are torn between selling them to enjoy the Christmas season with your family and buying gifts or just HODL till next year and make more money (assuming that bitcoin will go on another massive run 2021).

So it's really up to you, weigh in the situation right now, and make sure to make the right decision.
4290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Covid 2.0 UK has suffered massively and BTC is dropping on: December 21, 2020, 12:03:02 PM
I don't think that it has to do with the Covid 2.0 in UK. Market is due to correction anyway, at least Sunday in my time and people are just taking profits for the holiday season. No need to connect the dots for every negative news we've hear or seen on the news about the pandemic and relate it to bitcoin market.

Market has matured already, and if we are in a bull run that we have seen in the past days, doesn't matter if there is negative news, the greed factor and FOMO will just take over. And since it gradually slowing down, as obviously, people are just selling for profits.
4291  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: December 20, 2020, 09:50:44 PM
Bitamp can you think of adding option to sign a message from Bitamp wallet?
This option exists for Electrum wallet, and blockchain.com had this option before but I don't know any online wallet with this function.

Yeah, this is a good option to add, not priority but a nice to have to be included later. It is very important for us to prove that you own the private keys, as the saying goes, 'not your keys, not your coins'. Although there's a lot of site that we can use to verify message, but having this on bitamp is a win-win situation for your users.
4292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shall I HODL DOGE? on: December 20, 2020, 09:23:01 PM
The problem with Doge is that there are no development from behind, the only reason why it has existed till now is that it is a prime mover in crypto, become a meme coin, have it moments during bull run. And then gamblers love them as alternative like LTC, specially that ETH and BTC's fees are increasing.

Hard to give financial advise here, but If I'm in your shoes, I will dump it long time ago and switch to BTC or LTC. Goodluck in your decision.
4293  Economy / Speculation / Re: We should stop using the term "All Time High" on: December 20, 2020, 03:54:26 PM
Doesn't make any difference at all to be honest.

All time high (ATH) is not only being used in bitcoin or crypto though, this term has been in existence in traditional markets as well. So we just apply in to crypto without getting into an argument about this semantics and whatnot. We shouldn't get things complicated there, stick to the basics and all will be fine. If you prefer High to date, then that is good as well.
4294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Golovkin vs. Szeremeta IBF Middleweight Title on: December 20, 2020, 03:22:33 PM
Instead of making such easy fights, bith Canelo and GGG should have a third fight.
If money is the reason both id them fight easy boxers, making a trilogy would bring them even more.
I think the ball is on the side of Canelo here, he is the A-side now, so he dictates which fighter he wants to fight next, if he said he wants GGG then it will happen. Money could be one reason, but a proud Mexican like Canelo has pride as well. He already thinks the beat GGG fair and square so there's nothing to prove anymore.

Who these two going to fight next? Another boxer from top10-20?
Most like in the top 10, and relatively unknown fighters.
4295  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PornHub on: December 20, 2020, 02:47:51 PM
Hehe I can see another issue that will be thrown at bitcoin by critics. There's the undying bitcoin use to buy drugs and other illegal stuffs in the dark web then there's use in illegal online gambling. Next will be bitcoin use to support exploitation of women and child abuse.
Great weapon to attack bitcoin in my country. this issue could well be criticized against an oriental cultural background.
Bitcoin usage policy will become more difficult.
Yeah, it could be but I don't see any issues with that though, bitcoin has and will be used in dark web, we all that and other illegal stuff. But it doesn't mean that bitcoin doesn't are design solely for this purpose. As for the news, of course, we take this as positive. Because the sex industry is a tight knit, and so with Pornhub now accepting bitcoin, it will bring awareness and possible investors for us, win-win situation so I would say that this is a very welcoming news for bitcoin.
4296  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitamp Bitcoin Web Wallet - Send & Receive Bitcoin Instantly! on: December 19, 2020, 05:00:15 PM
Thanks for the continues discussions people! We got another question, not related to us much but since it's industry discussion, I thought we'd share them.

How are companies operating within the cryptocurrency industry meeting the challenges associated with obtaining access to banking?
I would say though that it is much easier for crypto related companies to open a bank account because the financial systems are more open and friendly, as compare to let say in 2017 wherein we heard a lot of companies bitching around because the banks closes their account because they are a crypto companies. Now even banks are into crypto and blockchain.

They simply open a business entity and banking in a jurisdiction that allows them to! It’s not that difficult when you consider there are plenty of blockchain-friendly jurisdictions these days, which explains why there are many companies based there — Malta, Switzerland and now increasingly US and UK too and parts of Europe now that regulations are becoming friendlier.
Of course, the simply and preferred way is to headquarter your company to safe haven countries as to can also take advantage of lax law specially as far as taxes go.

Bitcoin and blockchain can’t be stopped!

Agree?Wink
Agree, the revolution has just began and there is no stopping moving forward.

4297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: get-eos.com - is it a scam site? on: December 19, 2020, 04:22:18 PM
If used with Scatter, the site tries to sign several contracts.

I found that some of the addresses involved pop up when I search for scams + EOS.

Thanks for all the replies!
It's good that you ask the community before trusting that site.

Because it really smells like a scam for the beginning, the design of the site and how it age in less than a year? And I'm not really sure if EOS is making an airdrop though. So if you want to know about any airdrop or the latest about EOS you better follow them on their official social media sites, like Twitter.
4298  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Golovkin vs. Szeremeta IBF Middleweight Title on: December 19, 2020, 04:01:41 PM
This is what happen when you match a boxer with no knock out power to fighter of Golovkin's caliber, the fight is a big mismatch and it's not even worth watching, unfortunately it's a mandatory challenger, but one thing that we've seen here is Golovkin is still one of the best jabber and a strong finisher, glad that there is no big damage to Szeremeta.
But in paper they really show that Szeremeta has a fighting chance because Golovkin is getting older. But we didn't see any sign on Golovkin slowing down or something. For me it is still the same Golovkin that can break anyone at 160-168 lbs not name Canelo Alvarez.

As for Szeremeta, this is a good experience for him, maybe he can bounce back in his next fight in EU, but in world stage, he need more tools to go with the top fighters in US.
4299  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH then correction of 35%+ on: December 18, 2020, 05:20:39 PM
Happy 20k everyone!

This may be the ATH breakout and then breakdown I originally spoke about. See my last post about my definition of ATH and let's see if early next year we get a 30-35% correction as people capitalize on tax deferral into 2022 by selling in 2021 January.

We are now setting new records I hope that 35% correction will not happen it's just to huge it's more like a big crash, it will not happen if the holders do not sell, yes they can sell some but not ll of it or half of it, we do not have the luxury of going down to the $15000 then coming back again, it's like we are starting all over again.
It's inevitable though, if the market decided to go south and make a 35% corrections as others are pointing it, then we couldn't stop it. Big crashes is also part of bitcoin's history, but what's important is how it's going to recover after that. We have seen worst corrections, but bitcoin is very resilient so it's possible that we can see $15k again, or revisited $18k.

It will be a total reset, but we have full 12 months next year to bounce back to $30k or even more.
4300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP dumped and BTC goes up, coincidence ? on: December 18, 2020, 02:14:44 PM
Prices are increasing across the market and there is no way to compare the number of institutions that are entering and acquiring Bitcoin by increasing prices further. The XRP has a very high volume and we must remember the amount of supply and hardly the prices match that of Bitcoin.

We are in a market never seen before.
Or we are in market where investors have mature enough not to buy the hype anymore and instead invest on prime movers such as bitcoin, ethereum or even xrp (although it has been dump after the fork).

But currently, xrp has a good bounce I would say but not comparable to bitcoin wherein it achieved high as $23,500 while xrp has a hard time getting into the $1.0 price. So it's a long way to go for xrp to even reach it's previous high.
